Yonkers Kia Reviews (68)

Review: On November **, 2014, I went Yonkers Kia for an oil change. On that day Yonkers Kia had a “Pull-Ahead Program” going on. I spoke to Salesperson Ali and asked if I would be interested in the program. I told him I would be interested only if he could lower my monthly car payments. He said that he would be able to lower my payments if I traded in my Kia Sorento. That evening I walked out of the dealership with a new car, but no contract or paperwork. I had signed nothing. The next business day, Monday, I called the dealer because I realized that my payments were too high for my budget and that I would be unable to afford the new lease. I was alone and I feel that I was taken advantage of. The financial consultant told me not to worry. I spoke to the salesperson when I got to KIA on Monday afternoon to cancel the transaction because the monthly payment was over what I could afford and demanded to get my trade-in vehicle back.

• The Sales manager, Efrain, and salesperson said I should come in if I wanted to work anything out.

• Monday afternoon, I went to the dealer and asked them that I didn’t want to go forward with the deal; I had not signed any papers at this time. They informed me it was too late, that the check to pay off my trade- in was sent to Kia Finance already and that the paperwork for my new lease was submitted already to Kia finance. They said they could not void the transaction.

• At that time, I still had not signed the lease. They kept insisting I would only pay this lease for 2 years because they always have those pull-ahead programs so that in 2 years I would be put into a lower car lease payment.

• I had no choice but to sign the lease since I did not want to ruin my credit. They said I could not do anything to cancel my new lease.

• I never received a copy of the contract when I signed it that day

• On May **, 2015, I went into Yonkers Kia to try to cancel my lease again because it is hard for me to afford the high car payment.

• Efrain, the Sales Manager, informed me I could not cancel my lease and there was nothing he could do for me. He asked me to refer to my contract about any fees I may incur if I canceled the lease. I told him I didn't have a copy of the lease and he said that he couldn't give it to me because the office upstairs where they keep their lease contracts was closed at 4:30pm and that he would get someone to fax me a copy of my lease the following day.

• May **, 2015, I went to get legal advice from a lawyer.

• I was made aware of the Motor Vehicle Leasing Rights Act, in which it states that I have an unconditional right to cancel the lease if and when I do not receive a copy of the signed contract. I did try to cancel my lease with KIA when I had not signed anything yet and they denied me.

• Yonkers Kia violated my rights as a consumer when I drove the car out of their lot without signing a contract on November **, 2014 and not providing me any copy of the contract once I was forced to sign it.Desired Settlement: To cancel my current lease without paying any fees!

Review: Yonkers Kia has repeatedly been mailing me offers for pre-approved car loans over the past two years. These 'offers' are made to look like official government forms(perforated side, 'business mail - penalty for tampering', 2014 'form [redacted]' - writing like that) so the victim opens them quickly. I have repeatedly contacted them and asked them to stop sending this, and they won't. It's deceptive advertising, and there has been no response to repeated requests for this to stop. The mailings are sent from a bulk mailer in Queens at [redacted]Desired Settlement: I just want it to stop. If they would apologize, wonderful, but I doubt it. I just want it to stop and want them to stop the deceptive advertising.

Review: Purchase 2011 KIA Sorento in August. Service was done on the car and the car in August and everything was in good condition. Took the car in for service on October [redacted] and I was told that the the car need a new battery and new brakes. I informed the service man on arrival for service check that the car had stop several times. upon investigation they realized its an old battery in the car. The staff at KIA are not the nicest of people to work with after you purchase a car from them. I believed that they are trying to take advantage of me. They new all along that these problem exist. Kia wants me to purchase the battery and brakes at a cost over $500.00.Desired Settlement: KIA needs to pay fore these repairs.

Sincerely,

Review: I leased a 2015 Kia Optima SXL from Yonkers Kia on September **, 2015. As part of my contract, I paid $472.50 for title and registration fees. As of October **, 2015 I still do not have a valid registration or license plates for my car. Even worse, my 30 day temporary in-transit permit expired on October **, 2015 and as a result I am forced to drive an un-registered car.

I am filing this complaint to request assistance from the Revdex.com because despite more than a dozen calls to the Department of Motor Vehicles clerk "Gina" at Yonkers Kia, she has yet to return a single phone call. Even worse, the General Manager, Darwin O[redacted], has not returned multiple e-mails and phone calls from me, either, regarding this issue. The most I have been able to get out of them is from one time that I was able to reach my sales associate, Victor Sulca, and he then passed the phone to his sales manager "Sal". "Sal" told me that Gina had told him that they had done everything that they could possibly do and that it was now "out of their hands". In other words, despite my paying $472.50 for title and registration fees, my lack of a valid registration was "my problem".

My multiple voicemail messages to Gina and Darwin Oliva have been asking for two things: 1. Proof that they actually sent my registration request to the State of Connecticut, and 2. A status update from them as to when I might receive my registration/plates. To date, I have not received any response.Desired Settlement: I would like my car to have a valid registration and license plates.

Most of all, I would like Gina AND Darwin Oliva to respond to my multiple contacts and provide me with

1. Proof that they actually sent my registration request to the State of Connecticut. A copy of the actual receipt and transmittal form would be sufficient.

2. Regular status updates from them as to when I might receive my registration/plates.

Response:

I received my new car registration in the mail yesterday. However, neither the General Manager nor the Department of Motor Vehicles Clerk "Gina" ever did respond to any of my contact requests. At this point, I have my registration and I am done with this dealership.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Review: On December ** 2013, I went to a car auction show at the above dealer. The finance person [redacted] tried to persuade me to take out a policy with [redacted]. I told her no on several occasions during the closing of the contract. As per [redacted] it wasn't an insurance policy, but for parts ( warranty). As per [redacted] it's good to have. The next day I called the Nissan company who informed me that I still have warranty on most of my major parts up to 2017. I left several messages for [redacted] to contact me regarding cancellation of the policy. I lost my job 7 months after purchasing the car. I became depress & ill to drive to the dealer. During the time I tried to get in touch with her, but it became futile. I have spoken to other employees there, but they couldn't help. I was told I have to speak with [redacted], since it was her who did the contract. On September **, 2014 my car wouldn't start in the Bronx. I call [redacted] to see if I could get some assistance knowing that my policy with them is still active. The person who took the call stated he doesn't have no info about my coverage with the company. I call GEICO that night & I had to pay $71.00 extra to have my car towed to White Plains. Immediately I realize that something wasn't right. Calls to [redacted] remains unanswered. On December ** 2014, I went to the dealer. [redacted] was there, but refused to speak with me in person. Instead, she had some took the mileage of the car & told the serviceman that she has cancelled my policy. The next day I call her just to make sure she did cancelled the policy & my next step. As per [redacted], [redacted] would send me a full refund check in the mail. It's been over 2 weeks now & I haven't heard from [redacted]. Today, I call to speak with [redacted] & she refused to answer her phone. I call [redacted] to make sure that the policy is cancelled & was told no. I'm still in their system & they are working on December ** 2014 cancellation at this moment. My cancellation was done on December ** 2014 with [redacted].Desired Settlement: At this moment [redacted] hasn't cancel the policy with [redacted]. She is very deceitful to loyal customers. I need your company to investigate this matter immediately. I need my full refund that was paid to [redacted] from the time of purchase to present. [redacted] lies to her clients, when she knew that the car wasn't due any time soon for warranty upgrade.

The business has provided a very delayed response below:

Yonkers KIA Respond to Revdex.com to resolve or address the complaint issues:

[redacted] was a very happy customer before finding out he was unable to get approved. We have told the customer and his father that we were waiting on getting an approval for him. In the mean time we did negotiate on price with him and agreed on a fair price where the customer wanted to be. We were asked by the customer to hold the car during this waiting process and told [redacted] he can leave a deposit to hold the car until we were able to get an approval. The were okay with that. The very next day the customer [redacted] and his father came back and the car was still very much so available. We had to inform the customer that we were not able to get him approved and will have to refund his money. He only wanted that particular car and we were unable to get him approved on it. They were not happy because he really wanted the car. We suggested the customer try work on his credit a bit and come back in a few months. This negative complaint was made because the customer wanted the particular car at hand and we were unable to get an approval for the customer on that particular vehicle.

Review: I just want to say yonkers kia is a disgrace and the business should be closed. They have caused me nothing but problems since I leased my kia sorento back in November 2012. I had made a deal with their [redacted] and he made me feel like I was getting a great deal but I soon found out that I wasn't. He told me that he was going to include the VIP service package as a way to seal the deal and it was going to include ALL scheduled maintenance. I went to get my car scheduled maintenance today and that was not the case. They said the only thing included in the service package was a free oil change after scheduled maintenance was paid for. On the promise note it says "free oil change and filter with scheduled maintenance". This is a play on words. This is just one example of bait and switch that yonkers kia has used. When I sat down to sign the deal all of a sudden they wanted to charge me hidden fees and they even tried to raise the amount of my lease. I should have got up and walked out but I was a fool and didn't. The 277 dollar lease was supposed to include all the fees. All of a sudden they were charging me an acquisition fee and all these extra DMV fees which was never explained to me in the original deal. I was also told I didn't have to pay the first month of the lease and I all of a sudden had to pay the first month just to get the car. 6 months later I went to renew my registration and I realized that they registered my car with the wrong license plates. In order to get a deal they were offering we needed to bring in a copy of my fathers registration. They used his plate number instead. We were both driving around for 6 months with unregistered cars. My plates did not match my registration and if I was ever pulled over I could have been arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen a vehicle. This was obviously a huge problem! We had to switch our plates and he had to leave his car in the garage for almost one month. He leases a car which costs over 500 dollars a month. Kia eventually rectified the problem but offered us nothing in return. They also rarely returned phone calls and at first didn't want to help us and take responsibility for their mistake. I spoke the [redacted] on June [redacted] and be offered me nothing. He said this happened two months ago and his hands are tied. He waived one scheduled maintenance fee and that was it. He also told me that I wasn't going to have to wait and that they want to make things right. I waited for 4 hours to get my car back. He also told me many of the people that worked there when I leased the car were fired because of this type of behavior. If they know that this was a problem they need to take responsibility. They need to offer me something for my troubles and it can't be only waiving one scheduled maintenance fee which costs 60 dollars. I also had to call the dealership for two weeks just to get someone to answer the phone to schedule maintenance. I am seriously disappointed with this place and I think action needs to be taken so this doesn't happen to other people.Desired Settlement: I would be okay with them waiving one month payment of my lease for my pain and suffering and all for the inconvenience they have caused my family with not being able to use our cars because they were unregistered.

Review: On March **, 2015 I went to Yonkers Kia. I was not given the opportunity to test drive the used 2013 Kia Sportage which had 29,832 miles on it. I purchases d the vehicle for the sum of $ 22,905.07 which included a SafeGuard Vehicle Service Plan which cost $2,857. I live on social security which check comes monthly and is less than $1,100. Yonkers Kia obtained a loan for me bearing interest at the rate of 23.24% and requires a monthly payment in the amount of $557.90 so that the total purchase price for this 3 year old car is $41,668.80 and requires me to make payments for 5 years. Six days after purchasing the vehicle I returned the vehicle to Yonkers Kia where it remained until March **, 2015: the repairs that Yonkers Kia attempted to make were unsatisfactorily performed. I desire to terminate this agreement, give the car back.Desired Settlement: Termination of contract. I will give back the car. I want the transaction ended
