California Nails Reviews (975)

I needed three blinds installed. After several phone calls and one missed appointment on their part, the salesman finally came to get the order. An installer came to take measurements. And then once the blinds were in, it took me several times to get a hold of someone (I left messages, but no one ever called me back). I made several appointments, all of which were either cancelled or just forgotten. After finally getting someone here, ALL three blinds were wrong – wrong colors, wrong measurements. Of course, they made me pay the full amount before the installation, so while I’ve been told I will get the correct blinds, there’s no guarantee that will happen because they have their money, so where’s the motivation?

We had used Empire in the past and had no problems – I had always recommended them. But after this complete disaster, I will never use them again and I implore you to stay away from them as well.

I recently scheduled a whole-house estimate for our home in Fishers, IN. When I requested the estimate online, I specifically marked 10+ rooms which, in my opinion, makes it quite clear that I am looking for my entire home to be re-floored. I received a call confirming my appointment, and also received a follow-up email reminding me of it. Up to that point, I was impressed with Empire's system. Once the day of my appointment arrived, my initial impression went out the window.

I was given a window of 2:00-4:00 pm for a salesperson to arrive. She arrived at 2:45 pm with no contact prior to alert me that she was on her way. I showed her in and had not even closed the door behind her before she stated she was unable to provide my estimate without my husband present. When I informed her that we had decided it was up to me to make the decisions regarding our flooring, she repeated her statement. No reason was offered. The only thing she did say was that she was paid on commission and that estimates take a lot of time. Not only did she waste her time coming out if she had no intentions of measuring and providing an estimate, but she also wasted mine. A simple phone call prior requesting the presence of both homeowners would have sufficed in this situation, but it did not happen.

We moved into the living room to discuss our needs. When I told her I would accept a ballpark, no-measurement figure, the sales representative informed me that it would be "very expensive." Obviously it is going to be very expensive... I am looking to get my entire house re-floored. She repeatedly asked me what we were looking to spend. My response was always that we were looking to figure out how much it would cost to accomplish what we wanted, hence the need for the estimate.

The rep did not arrive with any samples, brochures, pricing structures or anything to indicate that she was there to provide us with an estimate. She showed up with only her purse in hand. Her abrupt behavior tells me that she made a judgment call immediately that we either: a) could not afford Empire's flooring; or b) were not planning on actually purchasing flooring from your company. Neither of these is factual. The rep did not even have a business card to offer, although she did look for one. She finally had to send me her information in a text message, along with the instructions to call her "when we are ready to purchase." Needless to say, that will not be happening.

They were 100%. On sales, install and price. I would definitely recommend, as I plan to do.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/09/11) */
We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding his concerns. We have been attempting to reach the customer to discuss this matter without success.
The customer was previously offered a 50% refund, however the release to accept that offer...

was not returned by the customer. We remain willing to work with the customer in order to reach an amicable resolution to this matter and look forward to hearing back from the customer regarding the previous offers.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/09/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
we have never received nor has there ever been a mention of us signing a release, so that is another lie that is constantly an issue with this company and especially with [redacted] here in [redacted]. Yes we considered settling for half when we had last had voice contact with him. He said it would take 2-3 weeks to get it arranged but that he had been authorized to do that. after almost 2 months we contacted him by phone he said he was waiting for some paper that he needed to finish up. There was no other communication until after we filed the complaint with Revdex.com. We then ask for all our money back plus repair of our home. He responded and talked to my wife so saying they haven't contacted us is a lie, he was supposed to have called us back the next day and speak to me about the issue but haven't heard from him since, which doesn't surprise me since they never do what they say they will. There is still the issue of getting our home repaired from all the damage that has occurred in having to have the carpet done 5 times. I will be more than glad to sit down and discuss a settlement with someone that I can trust and put a little confidence in that what they tell me is going to happen and it certainly isn't the persons I have dealt with up to this point
Again, all we ever wanted was some good carpet in our house and get on with our lives, I really don't think any person of position at Empire today would be satisfied with the results that we have had to put up with in their home. That is why I have tried unsuccessfully to get someone in an upper management position to come and see what we are dealing with but they keep sending the same person to deal with and we are getting nowhere
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/09/24) */
We have been in contact with the customer and offered the option of a 50% refund in exchange for a signed release in lieu of further service or a 45% refund and a re-stretch of the carpet in exchange for a signed release. The customer declined both offers. We remain willing to work with the customer and look forward to amicably resolving this matter.

We ordered carpet to be installed in two rooms, hallway and stairs on 1/2/2016 in Las Vegas.. We just bought a house and are redoing all the flooring.. The person who took the measurements had called to check to see if the carpet that we choose was in stock.. He even said that we could get the carpet installed in a few days.. We didn't want the carpet installed right away as we were doing the rest of the house ourselves, so we scheduled it out for 01/23/16.. Everything seems great and we received a confirmation phone call on 01/21/2016 about our carpet install.. Then today 01/22/2016 at about 4:50PM Empire decided to call us and tell us that our carpet is in Los Angeles.. We are supposed to move in a few days and now we are lost on what to do.. We now have to delay our move which is going to cost us more money.. Thanks Empire for the waste of time as well as now having to find a new company/new carpet/ to deal with.. And also for waiting the last second to call us and tell us this news.. We were even recommended to you by family.. Never trusting again..

Revdex.com:
Thank you for assisting me.  I have accepted the option 2 of a $350.00 credit.  This case can be closed.  Thanks, Denise

this matter resolved.

It was a very smooth process from scheduling appointment, to meeting with the sales representative to having my carpet, LVT and LVT installed. Everyone was cordial, yet professional, and I love my new floors.

Excellent experience

Everyone from the sales person to the installation crew was extremely professional, knowledgable, and friendly. They worked quickly and quietly. Everyone was able to answer any questions I had at anytime. I would recommend Empire Today to anyone in need of new flooring. The people were all amazing and I LOVE my new floors!!

After my last review Mike from customer service contacted me and offerd to replace my carpet as my wife and I were so unhappy with how long the previous carpet lasted, less than two years. He went on to add that there may be a extra charge depending on the carpet that we pick as it would be a up grade. I agreed. My wife and I met with the sales person he was very nice, before showing us carpet samples he asked us what did we were looking for out of the carpeting such as animals foot traffic ect. After we told him of are animals and the foot traffic he said that he would have not recommended the carpet which the previous sales person did. The sales person brought in samples and the wife and I picked out what we liked and the sales person said, that particular sample is not a house brand and that it would take a week or so to get and we told him we are in no hurry he said thats fine. He went on to ask if we had to make a second choice what would it be so we did he said that that was a house brand. A week or so went by we received a call from a Margret say to give them a call to set up a time for a install and the she said the name of the carpet and it was are first choice Royal Court Jester and there would be a 250.00 fee upon installation. I picked the day and on that day I took of work and call them that morning. they had told me I first stop they be out between nine or ten. I later received a call saying that they would not be out until noon to three. They finally showed up a little after three. The installer asked my wife an I to come out and verify that it was the right carpet. The carpet had a tag that said Java and my wife and I said that sounded right as it has been over a week and the sales person or my wife and wrote down the name's. We gave the installer a check and they started to remove the carpet. My wife had remembered that she saved the message from Margret after listing to the message it should have been Royal Court Jester not Java. I called Margret could not get a hold of hear so then I called Mike and he said to me ,was not Java your second choice and I said yes but why would Margret say that I was getting my first choice and he replied she did not know what was going on.He then asked me again that when you where with the sales person did you not pick a second choice again I said yes but if I was told from Margret that I was getting the first choice. He asked with a attitude what I wanted to do I said I would like th first choice Roya Court Jester. He said fine thet would have order it in. So I took a day off work paid 250.00 and my floors are bare except for the tac strips. I cleaned my floor from all staples and dirt some of which I needed a scraper witch tells me that they did not clean very well the first time. I felt very bad about what transpired wondering if we need the right thing but the wife said that the Jave that he had on the truck felt very thin. The wife was able to get in touch with Margret and told her what had went on and she agreed with us why would you settle for your second choice unless it was discontinued. My wife went on to say to Margret that Mike made us feel like we where in the wrong and Margret said she would not have accepted it either which made us feel a hole lot better. As the time went by my wife baby sits are 15 month old granddaughter we put towels over the tac strips and had her wearing shoes but she still fell and a couple times had to remove wood slivers from her hands. I got a call in about two weeks saying the carpet was in and to make install appointment witch I did and was told they would be out between noon and two.I took a half day off of work and about two I get a phone call saying that they could not make it until six or seven or would I like to reschedule I had all ready have missed two days of work so I said come out. The installers did very nice work they got done about X:XX-X:XX.. My wife and I are very pleased with the carpet and worth the extra couple weeks. But with two days of lost wages and the 250.00 to upgrade it still cost me a thousand dollars. It has been a few months and never heard anything from Empire as to my satisfaction.

I'm sure not everyone has a good experience with this national firm, but I did.The salesman arrived at the specified time, was very knowledgable and personable.Contracted to carpet 2 bedrooms,I had to change install date twice,no problem.Installers arrived on time and date agreed to and were very friendly.Three man team moved and returned all furniture and laid carpet in approx. 2 hrs. Price slightly high but worth the conveniance.

A great experience all around. Knowledgeable sales rep. and the installation team was fantastic. Very glad I chose Empire.

We have used Empire three time over the past six years, got what we wanted, very pleased in the quality, delivery and installation, pricing about average considering what we were looking for.

I was contacted by Empire Today for installation of hardwood flooring. I decided to order from them because they had immediate installation. They sent out three unprofessional men as contractors. One was maniac and started annoying me because he was asking me for work but was not doing the work he was sent to do. Finally he started talking about his criminal past in prison and how he had not taken his medication for his mental condition since prison. He stated it cost to much and that's why he acts the way he does. The whole experience was needless to say disturbing. I called the salesman and put a halt to the work for two reasons it was not being done to my expectations and they sent out a ex felon with a mental condition. For the money they charge one would think they would use profession installer. Their contract states they use professional bonded contracts/subcontractors but it appears they didn't have any available or it was misleading.

Very pleased with the product and service.

so pleased with Empire Today this is the second time I am using them for flooring, the come out immediately, they have qualified staff to help with your selection, they work with your budget, and they have them most qualified installation staff around. Very pleased and have spoken their praise to all my friends and family.

Super easy to use and very pleased with everything from start to finish

I had a very positive experience with Empire Today's sales and installation of carpet.
