Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:none of the things they are saying now was not told to me when I took my sister as a cosigner or when I went to purchase the vehicle .waited all day for their manager to give us a response which we never got from them then they told me that I was not going to get my deposit back cause they had to charge me for a restock fee and pay their employees for wor[redacted]g on my contract which it cause them 15 dollars outta their check and they claim to had lost money while wor[redacted]g with me.came at me with bogus fees and tellin me that they were going to report the vehicle stolen.also charge me for plates and registration fee which I never got and they waited for the temporary plates and registration to expire after I was going back and forth just to handle this matter I provided them with everything they ask for but they demanded more money from me 6k to 10k more on top of what I had already put down and took a cosigner my question. Why did I get to drive off the lot with the vehicle fully cover with my insurance have it for 3 weeks then they call me tellin to bring back and wasn't getting my deposit back they made that clear with me.

[redacted], sorry for the delay. When we had the vehicle in June the compressor was working fine. We checked the for faults in the system and came up with nothing. When you had brought the car back a month later we had diagnosed this issue. We didn't charge you for the diagnosis, you had declined the...

repairs. We wish you the best of luck. Thank You.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] was referring to a different situation or different client. His response about a warranty that...

I've cancelled and a partial payment made is not related to my complaint or situation. As I explained before, I leased a Tiguan and we agreed on a $3500 down payment which I signed for with the sales representative and I end up paying $4000. Further, they returned my [redacted] lease 2 months in advance knowing that they will cover the end of lease expenses, the last monthly payment in the amount of $269.00 and the disposition fee ($430) according to [redacted] (the finance manager). I contacted [redacted] and [redacted] (sales Manager) for an explanation after receiving the [redacted] lease bill. They explained that they have already send in the last monthly lease payment to [redacted] and they refuse to pay the disposition fee. After contacting [redacted] I found out that they have never made any payment. Again, I contacted [redacted] who asked me to make the payment to [redacted] so I won't incur any late fees and he will reimburse the money, which they never did. I end up paying over $700.00 to [redacted].

Review: I went to trade in two of my vehicles at Jack Daniels Kia of Fairlawn, NJ for 2 new vehicles Nov 2014. I was totally misinformed by the sales consultant, manager and the finance manager. I was told they would pay off the 2 payments left on one of my vehicles and that we did not owe additional money for the mileage overage or any wear and tear. I was told this many of times by the sales the consultant I dealt with. This was far from the truth. I received a bill in the mail in March 2014 stating I owed $2,500 for the 2 car payments, excess mileage and wear and tear plus taxes. If I was told all this before trading in my vehicle I would have bought the vehicle I originally had outright and not traded it in. When I asked why they never made the last 2 payments it was brought to my attention that they sent me the check. I thought the check was a refund for over payments I made as well as the dealership made at the same time. I was never once told I needed to make those additional payments. They made it seem as if everything was taken care of and I had nothing to worry about once I left with my new vehicle. The other vehicle I traded in they gladly accepted under mileage and paid off the remaining payments without sending those to me to remit to Kia. Why were the 2 transactions so different? I will never buy Kia again and if I could return the 2 vehicles I have now I would. I will be returning them at the end of the leases and I will go spend my money elsewhere. I do not recommend nor will I ever again recommend this dealership to anyone. I live in NY and specifically went to the NJ location because I had a great experience the first time but not the second time.Desired Settlement: I will be willing to compromise by making one of the remaining car payments in the amount $409.99 and I would like the dealership to waive the other payment of $409.99 and the remaining excess wear & tear, excess mileage and taxes in the amount of $1,286.64.

We sent her the check for her last 2 payments directly. She had thought it wasbeing sent to kia direct. When she received the check she had spent it. All shewants is for us to give her another check. At this point we have done everything we can and have no other solution to offer.Thank you

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

They can do the right thing and waive the excess mileage and wear and tear like I was told happened when we purchased a new vehicle. I have no problem making the 2 payments in the total of $819.

Review: Was charged a $200 deposit on my credit card for purchase of a 2012 [redacted] A6. Was told the deposit would be fully refunded when I closed on the purchase. Closed later that same day via a bank check for the full purchase price. $200 deposit has not been refunded even after repeated contact with the dealership. Spoke to [redacted] who admitted the $200 deposit should have been returned and promised to refer it to his finance department for correction. Has been over 2 months since the charge should have been refunded and I am still waiting. If the dealership systematically does this, would be a very unethical and assuredly illegal overbilling practice.

Review: Agreed to purchase 2011 Kia Soul from dealership on April 19, 2014. On this date (4-19-14) drove vehicle off lot awaiting completion of financing paperwork. Temporary plate was issue with expiration date of (5-18-14) went to dealership and called to ask if registration and plates are ready as temporary plates are expired. I was given a copy of a letter that stated (dealership has not acquired the necessary documents from motor vehicles for the vehicle yet. I was told if I was stopped by the police just present the copied letter to the official. Well, I was stopped and the officer did not want to accept this letter and the vehicle was towed. I alerted the dealership on the date (6-4-14) the date of towing and they did nothing but stipulate they did not get my proof of residence in time, therefore, they did not receive the loan money in time to process the car registration. It is now, 6-9-14 and they still refuse to assist me in attaining the vehicle that was towed. Also, Jack Daniels attained a $100 deposit to hold the vehicle for me and the money has never been returned. I have receipts.

Isn't this a breach of contract on their part? Also, I have a problem with the interest rate I am being charges on the loan, I am being charged %84 interest rate. Isn't this a practice of a Predatory loan? Please help me I am desperate.Desired Settlement: At this point and time, I want the contract deemed null and void, my trade-in vehicle valued at $2000) returned, refund of my $100 CC charge, return of my payment of $401 that was paid on 5-21-14. And a apology. -

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have visited the dealership numerous times with my fiancé and they refused to update the care registration situation. I visited the dealership on 6-4, 6-5, and 6-6. On 6-6-14 my fiancé came with me and asked for the District manager, again we continued to get no where with the people that were onsite at the dealership. They stated I did not provide proof of residency, well, if this is the case, why was I approved for a loan (I have a copy of the contract), instructed to put insurance on the vehicle for 2 months and lead to believe I was the owner of the vehicle. I have a copy of a letter they provided me, when I informed them the dealership the date for temporary plate had expired on 5-18-14. The police department would not accept this letter. I would be insane to think I can ride around with expired plates. I was at the point of begging them to register the car, they refused. I'm not sure why! I think it was a lack of communication via the salesperson [redacted]

I think, the real decision maker was never on site in Fairlawn, none of this makes any sense!!!

This was a bogus sales tactic, the interest they were charging on $14,000 was $12,000 for 5 1/2 years. You do the math. Also, this experience has rendered me a lot of hardship getting to and from work, extra expense for vehicle insurance as well.

I am sticking to my original complaint, contract should be null and void as the dealership fail to comply with proper registration of the vehicle. I am due the $401.00 paid May 21, 2014, $100 that was given to hold the vehicle as well. If needed, all documents with date will be presented to confirm my statement.

The police had to take you away when you came into the dealer. You didn't pick up any phone calls and wouldn't provide proper paper work. When you came into the dealer we told you the same thing. You then threatened us and we had to call the police. At this point there is nothing we can do for you. We are sticking to what we originally said.

Review: I have leased a ** Tiguan from the Jack Daniels dealership. My sales person was [redacted], [redacted] (sales Manager) and [redacted] the finance manager. We agreed on a down payment in the amount of $3500 ( all fees included according to [redacted]), $305 monthly lease which I signed for with [redacted]. and they would take care of my Nissan last month lease and destination fee. After signing the contract the fees increased by $500.00. [redacted] explained that this was for the first month lease payment and the registration fee and I asked him specifically about my [redacted] lease payments and he said that I do not have to worry this is all included in the deal. They asked me to keep my [redacted] car and they will return it to the dealership. As the matter of fact, my [redacted] lease was not up until the end of November and I leased the ** in September. So, they've returned my [redacted] car two months in advance and I had already made September payment and all I had left was one month lease ($269.00) and the destination fee ($430.00). In October I received the last month bill from [redacted], I contacted [redacted] and [redacted] for an explanation, they said that they already made payment for [redacted] in the amount of (269.00) however, they're not going to cover the destination fee. Before the due date I called [redacted] to make sure that the payment was made as [redacted] had explained but again they did not fulfill the agreement. Again I contacted [redacted] and he asked me to make the monthly payment so I will not incur any late fees and they will send me a check in the amount of $269.00 and again they did not keep their promise. I do believe that by law a verbal agreement is as binding as a written one and this dealership has failed many times to keep their promises.Desired Settlement: A refund in the amount of $269.00 for my last month lease.

I'm a VW driver of more than 20 years' standing. I called the Jack Daniels showroom to request a price for a specific Jetta model and options during their May 2015 sale. I was put in touch with a salesman, [redacted]. He gave me a satisfactory number, and asked that I put down a $500 deposit to "hold the price" since the sale I was taking advantage of "ended tomorrow" (it actually ended two days later). He also told me that he could offer me a Passat with the same options for the same price. Since my wife and I needed the vehicle, I made a special trip (about 25 miles) to put down the deposit. When I arrived, I met with Mr. ** and we reviewed the figures he'd given me; I could see that he'd previously written down the exact specifications I'd given him on his legal pad. He told me that he could offer me the Passat, but for a much higher price. I told him that I therefore wouldn't consider it. He then told me that the Jetta figures he'd quoted me were for a base model, and that what I wanted would cost much more. When I told him that was unacceptable, he went to get his manager, [redacted] Jr. [redacted] tried to talk me into accepting a lower priced model that would meet the cost figure they'd previously given me. I refused, and [redacted] said he'd look into it further and promised to "email (you) later today". After I didn't receive an email from him, I emailed him. He responded by saying that he'd spoken with his manager, [redacted], and that they would not stand by their original offer. I asked to speak with [redacted] and was told that I could speak with him the day after the sale ended. When I pointed out that futility of that gesture, I received a email from [redacted] with his showroom telephone number. I called him, but was told that "he'd just left for the day". I asked for an alternate contact number, and sent [redacted] an email asking him to call me, but of course I never heard back. Jack Daniels Volkswagen of Fair Lawn NJ runs a classic bait & switch operation, and I foolishly fell for it by wasting my time going to their showroom. Why some car dealers act as though it's still 1950 when all of the information about them and their cars is available online is beyond me. Don't waste your time here; the salespeople and managers here are an insult to your intelligence and have absolutely no respect for you.

Review: I have purchased two cars from this dealership. The last car I paid off the loan early and requested a refund of the GAP insurance. I completed all of the necessary paperwork myself and received no help from the dealership. After waiting for more than two months I finally received my money back, but the dealership withheld and additional $50 (on top of the "cancellation fee") None of these fees were disclosed to me in the intial loan agreement as I believe is required by state and federal law. I asked for my $50 back as I had never been told I would be charged $85 if I paid off the loan early. The dealership refused. I believe this is illegal and certainly not good business practice.Desired Settlement: I want the $50 illegally withheld from my refund.

Review: On Tuesday, March 11 I brought my car, [redacted], 2012 to Jack Daniels VW Service Center to replace the two front tires that had developed bubbles under third party warranty. My car was kept until Saturday March 15. It takes that long for this service center to replace two tires. Upon receipt of the car my wife noticed that the two VW emblems were missing from the wheels. I told the service manager, Mr. [redacted] and he brought two from the shop and he popped them in. I started looking at the fenders in front of the wheels and they were marked with heavy oil or grease. I pointed it out to Mr. [redacted] and he said that he will notify the Motorsports division to get a special cleaner since by car is wrapped with plastic. The job was performed by the Motorsports division. My wife and I left the dealer and went to [redacted] for some shopping less than 10 minutes away from the dealership. At the parking lot I tried to put my[redacted] back on and I notice an L shape crack on the windshield bigger than three dollar bills. I immediately drove back the car back to the dealer and asked to speak to the service manager, Mr. [redacted]. My point was simply that these damages were not on the car when I left it for service Tuesday last. He indicated that there was a stone chip on the crack and that caused the damage. He suggested to call my insurance to take care of it. I pointed out that I suspected that the car was hit when it was at the Service Center. The response was he will get in touch with me on Monday to discuss a possible recall of my water pump and he will address these problems then. On Monday March 17th I called my insurance company and they conferenced Mr. [redacted] to address these issues. His response was evasive and belligerent. The response was that I had to bring the car in so he can take a look but not right now, after he will get the information on the recall. On Wednesday I send Mr. [redacted] an email informing him that I was waiting for his response on these issues. I replaced the windshield.Desired Settlement: Fix the dents in the front fender, replace the clear bra where the heavy oil marks are, check my front bumber for possible damage.

Review: I brought a certified VW Jetta 2011 from the place in Sep 2013. Certified provides warranty of 2 years/24,000 miles which ever comes first. I was asked to take extra warranty by paying additional $2500(approx) to get another 2 years of warranty/24,000 miles and said that in case I decide to cancel the extra warranty I can and the amount will be refunded to me. I did cancel my extra warranty before the certified warranty expired i.e before 2 years/24,000 miles and I got back only $1200 back. In no way it makes sence to me why they did not refund me complete amount. I had my certiifed warranty covering for the first 2 years/24,000 miles period so why did they had to deduct any amount when I cancelled before the period? It means I paid extra $1200 for no reason now and this is literally cheating cus[redacted]ers. I never expected this kind of service either from Jack daniels or Volkswagen.

its the same case with the GAP Insurance also. I paid $800 and cancelled midterm but I did not get any amount back.Desired Settlement: refund me the complete amount for extra warranty($2500 approx) and half the amount of the Gap Insurance($400 approx)

Review: Bought a car from this company, inside a week the check engine light comes on, they wouldn't cover any of the maintenance cost also wanted several hundred dollars for repairs even though it wound up only costing $30 for a new air filter (which I did myself). Review: Purchased a used 2005 Audi a6 on July 18 2013 and was given a warranty with the purchase, was told before sale the car would be checked out 100% Including a oil change and filter and for any problems before sale. A couple of days after purchase July 21noticed the abs /parking light would come on. I notify the salesperson Marcus he Informed me the parking button just sticks.I used this vech only for trips. On Oct 10th 2013 I noticed when checking my oil that it was pretty dirty for just being changed in July I notify a service Advisor and was told the oil change was never done before purchase.I spoke to a service manager and he told me he was sorry and to bring it in right.on Oct 11th 2013 they replaced the oil and filter. I notice the next couple of winter months while starting my vech the ABS/Parking light and buzzer alert came on and the light would not go out also the buzzer sound came on/ off I notify the service Advisor Fred Davis who told me to bring It in to service on Mar 24th 2014 I did so. I was told my ABS module needed to be replaced I told the service Advisor Fred Davis to fix it because I'm covered under my warranty he told me there was no warranty in the system for my vech . Told him I had a copy in my vech he looked it over and said you do have a warranty. He said he needed to call the company to find out if I was covered .the company declined saying it was not covered.I told them this problem happen the day I brought the vech they would not fix the promblem I kept going for service and on Mar 4th 2015 took vech for service because I noticed oil leaking under the car I was told when bringing the vech in by service Advisor Jeffrey Romano that the warranty company is out of business. I am rejecting this response because:

the Vech was not inspected for a any problems as agreed too by Jack Daniels and salesman James as part of the purchase nor was the oil changed at purchased as agreed to see attachment. These problems were there before signing off on anything . Also I was given a limited lifetime Powertrain Warranty which covers the second problem the main seal leak. which was taken in for service and service Advisor Jeffery lied and said the warranty company was out of business which later changed hes story. Now the said problems are still Jack Daniels problems to fix . because they never checked vech as agreed , before buying.

Regards,

Response:

Kenneth, please contact the warranty company. You will see the warranty only covers engine and transmission. All of our cars go through the shop and are rigorously inspected, they are then detailed and retailed on our lot. We wish there was something we can offer you, but there is no fault on our end regarding this issue. Best of luck.
