My sister and I paid about $in for the first years of a lifetime membership (as described by rep)The annual rate was to be $99/year and not go up! I received a letter that now I owe $199/year! My sisters is still somehow locked in at $When I called to inquire about this doubling in price, they said they are allowed to do it to redo their gyms and that eventually my sisters price for her membership will go up as well! I was promised by their sales rep face to face that it will NEVER increaseI never really liked 24hr gymsIt was a simple over crowed gym but for $99/year it was bad, but totally not worth a penny moreThis is a shady company that doesn't actually care about health and fitnessThey're only in it for the profits

Hour Fitness has the worst customer service in Colorado and I tried calling ***, was on hold for over an hourThe customer service rep that answered did not listen to a word I saidI tried to explain to him that we have asked numerous times to have my son's Christmas gift of the gym membership explained to us at Hour Fitness Super Sport Center at *** * *** ** *** CO 80012, 303-***The rep just kept making excuses about the membershipI finally stated that I wanted to speak to a supervisor, another rude unknowledgeable person that did not take the time to listen to my concerns about their customer service not disclosing hidden fees within their membership contractWe wanted to cancel his membership and still they would notI don't understand why they will not cancel his membership after we stated 5-times in the phone conversationI stated to the supervisor that this is fraud, advertisement and an unauthorized charge to my bank accountHe stated that this is a non refundable feeSo I'm basically being stolen from for the *** poor customer service and unknowledgeable staff with Hour Fitness
Desired Settlement: I'd like a refund of the $that was unauthorized from my bank accountMy son's membership cancelled immediately with no hidden costs to cancel it and have the staff and customer service rep trained properly about the hidden costs within the membership contracts to fully explain to customers

They still autocharged me and only is refunding me for of the months not (days) because they show 'no record' The x-gf didn't even try to log in after I told her she was canceled- that record doesn't count

On 7/3/*** *** a sales person with hour fitness at Regency Parkway, StCharles Mosigned me up as a member With no mention of annual costs, he only talked about start up cost and monthly fees He said it would cost me $ I told him that was too much and he lowered the price to $
No mention of tax which I understand Missouri will soon repeal No mention of annual enrollment fee each year amounting to $39.99, and, no mention of the annual fee coming due months into the memebership on 12/8/*** only talked about an initiation fee that he was was discounting plus $a month
*** said he would have to send the contract to my e-mail, that it wasn't available at the moment I Missed my day cool off period by not checking my mail for a couple days When I realized I didn't receive it, I stopped in for a work out about days later and asked them to print a copy The contract that wasn't available on the day I singed in, was made available immediately upon request days later
I also told *** I was going to be traveling to Costa Rica and may not return He said to tell him when I wanted to leave and he would freeze my account He also said if there wasn't a Hour Fitness in the Costa Rica I could cancel my contract without penalty I stopped in for another workout on Nov27,because *** was supposed to be working He was off, so I asked the Mgr*** *only his first name appears on their web site) to place my freeze my contract
*** *aid it would be for months I told him I was told by *** it could be suspended for months He also informed me for the first time that I would be charged $a month even though *** failed to mention this when I asked about travel These people deliberately omit critical financial information when signing you up, and the contract does not mention a $fee while the account is frozen
I called Chesterfield Hour Fitness an talked to *** (the Mgr.) explaining ***s procedures *** said that *** clearly did not follow his training, but, refused to give me anything in writing Since I'm leaving the country I canceled my credit cards and obtained a new one I paid the initial charges of $for July, and started the $plus tax payment for Aug.,Sept.,Oct., and NovI think I'm asking for my contract to be voided I can provide an address in Costa RIca if requested For a New York Stock Exchange company, I recommend hour fitness review their policies and adequately train staff so this doesn't happen again

Went to the gym today with my husband and brought him as a guest Filled out the required form to bring him as a guest They wouldn't let him in due to not having his ID on him I drove us to the gym and he didn't have his license *** ***, personal trainer, was working the front desk Wouldn't let him in Poor customer service He will not be joining hour Fitness Sometimes "corporate policies" are too much built on rules and don't include grace Lost a client

I originally joined because my dad was already member and he was going to add me onto his accountSo my dad and I went to a location in San Francisco ca, and it was the worst mistake in my life One of their representatives, added my card as the primary account to take the monthly fee out of when I used my card to pay for the starter feeA couple of months goes by and I start to notice on my bank statements that they have been taking the monthly payments from my account I called the location that I signed up with and spoke with the manager and wanted to cancel my membership and a refund because his employee made a mistake that ended in costing me in the long run He stated that he wouldn't give me a refund and couldn't cancel my membership at that time So At this point I am angry , because I was just told that they are going to continue to take money from me that was never supposed to be taken from my account I started to look at my statement just to see what they have been taking out exactly and I notice that they have been charging me twice a monthhour fitness has taking over dollars from my account, and has just took a payment out on the 13th even though I have been trying to cancel the membership I called the 1-number and all they did was give me a number to fax my bank statements to so I could get a refund , and that was days ago and I have yet to hear back I was mistreated throughout my whole process and I will continue to make a complaint until the right person hears about it

They are terrible to cancel! I fulfilled my annual contract and could cancel at any time there after but when I called the cancelation # it would not take my callI called the office and they said they could not cancel and to call the # againI called times and still could not cancelIt looks like it's a scam so you keep paying your duesThey make you jump through hoops just to cancelI will NEVER sign up with them and I would recommend you do not either, they want to bill you for lifeAt the beginning of your contract they will tell you "yes it's very easy to cancel just call the number", nobody ever answersStay away from them, there's plenty other gyms out there

Hour Fitness Club on Wilshire (Koreatown) is overcrowded, sanitary conditions are poor, in men restrooms sinks and toilet bowls overflow and machines do not get proper maintenance
Manager and assistant manager are clueless when it comes to manners and to improve service, but when you are joining everybody is so nice after they secure membership all that smiles just wash away
Among these people working in this location only two people behave professionallyThey run gym activities without paper towels and you ask them and they simply say we run out of itthat proves the management inefficiency stated on second paragraph

Not sure about ALL the gyms, but the one in San Diego Mira Mesa Is absolutely horrible! This gym does not care about its customers as people but as dollarsThey do not refund or allow cancellation of personal training even if you move or are unable to attend sessions due to changing circumstancesThey will not work with you to give you your money backAs far as the business/corporation goes they will charge you for fees that shouldn't be charged after they "accommodate" you and agree to not charge you for the items as previously doneTo get anything out of them that has to do with money traveling the other direction from their business is impossible and they do not care if you want to discontinue membership

It's a good gym Prob the best equip I've seen in a gymI wanted to get a personal trainer to learn some weight lifting exercisesSo I paid for sessionsAll they showed me was stretches for the first sessionsI told them this wasn't for me and I would like my money backThey told me they cannot do that, but we can get you another trainer I said okI got another trainer and he showed me stretchesAfter the 3rd session was over , I asked if I can give away the last sessions to someone in the gymThat's how fed- up I wasI just watched other people lifting weights how they do it and asked questionsThese people suck that work here! For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.My membership was re-instated which I appreciate, however my annual renewal rates are still over 400% from where they started which is a bait and switch from how it was sold to me (was told only small adjustments would be made to adjust for inflation etc)
I was also charged a full $for dues, even though my membership was not active for over half the year

I went to signup with my son's , when we signed up the person helping us lead us to signup for individual accounts when we could of opened account and have them join We went to the gym for a months and I started experiencing issues with my right kneeThe point of me going was to get healthy and lose weight , but I couldn't do much cardio since everything I did hurt me kneeI went to the doctors and started a process to find out what the issues was In the mean time I took doctors notes to have my account frozen while I resolved my issuesThe manager on site informed me I was charged dollars to freeze my account and according to their policy they do not charge for accounts being frozen for medical reason and with a doctors noteI provided the notes yet I still got chargedWhen I froze the account I still had credit on the account because I froze the account at the beginning of the monthOnce the account activated they tried to charge the card on file Not only did they charge me for while this was on a medical reason , but they didn't apply my $ dollars to the account when it activatedI spoke to many people and they said at corporate level they didn't give credits for ether my dollars nor apply the credit to the accountThis guys are very sneaky as far as I am concern if I am ever to signup with hour fitness I will be very careful

New gym, so it's expected that the facility is spacious, new equipment, clean, and for the most part, cool staffThe only complaint I have is the lack of professionalism by one of their trainers, and I think his name is "***" (big tall guy with a European accent and facial hair)
Long story short, he rudely approached me and asked why I didn't put the weights backIn summary, I firmly asked why his tone was so rude and aggressive when it was an honest mistake (I'm a gym rat, and my biggest pet peeve is when people don't put their weights back, and this time it was an honest mistake on my end)
After verbally going back and forth with "***", he puffed his chest out like he was going to physically do something, and I told him lets figure this out with his manager (didn't want to cause a scene especially at a place that I go to almost everyday)He refused to follow me to his manager because he was "busy" training a client, but I went anyway (funny how he was busy training a client, but he had the time to confront me about this)
Manager, ***, was very professional and listened to what I had to sayHe even mentioned that "***" at times may come off a bit wrong (or something along the lines of that) since he is from another countryI get it, but regardless of "***'s" origin, he needs to learn to have good etiquette/professionalism regardless of the situation

hour in Arcadia CA- AVOID! I've been coming here since it opened (years now) Over the last months this place has turned to crapLiterallyI come everyday for at least hoursEveryday there is either feces, urine, or trash (or all of the above stuck together) on the floor and countersI mean like clumps of poo and pubic hairThe new "management" is young and rudeI've complained about Melody being condescending to customers and she's as rude as everThe kids club has half the staff the usually do with waits to get inMy daughter attends kids club several days a week (all of my kids went through the club and oldest are members)- she told me the managers come in and yell at the workers in front of herShe at even said they were so rude to Olga (her favorite and the best worker here ) that she felt she needed to say something I've complained to Michael about the bathrooms being disgusting and it's even worse nowYesterday this Melody went into kids club and took my daughters pack back- literally took itWhen I went to leave and get it the poor kids club worker told me she said we couldn't leave it there unless my daughter was checked in to the club- sure ok but this has been my baby daddy meet area for many years- never a problem with her stuff of kids clothes in a backpack waiting for her arrival at the club- ever in yearsThey failed to remove the cubbies full of other stuff that parents leave there for convince or the bags all over the gym floorI guess single parents and kids aren't really a priority hereThey've had over "managers" in the last years- never once has someone gone into kids club and specifically took my kids stuffIn fact the kids club worker stated this Melody watched if I left a bag for her on cameras then went and took the bagWTH? Is this what she was doing as I stepped over feces )yet again) in the bathroom? The only front desk person that was helpful is gone now too- seriously? Time to contact corporate I guess

I would like to add my complaint to the long list of others who have complained about the sudden increase of my lifetime guarantee of annual fees at $49, (after the end of my year membership)The customer service rep with whom I spoke almost a month ago claimed that my contract stated that dues could be increasedIt does notHe promised to email a copy of the original contract, but a month later and my follow up email again requesting it, have resulted in silence on their partI will end up paying the $99, since I don't want to lose my annual membership, but under protestPlease contact me if there is any class action against hour Fitness for its breach of contract
