Been a member of hour fitness for probably years Got a new credit card, and tried to update hour fitness After two calls, and reassurance they would get it correct, my wife's account still shows unpaid monthly dues, so they harass us at the front desk of the gym when we to to work out Monday tried to call mid-day and after going through phone tree, got "your call cannot be completed at this time'-seriously, it was around noon? Today trying again, currently on hold for 18+ minutes, trying to cancel membership Cannot cancel membership online, even when logged into the account They are holding us hostage

I was offered the opportunity in to pay in advance for yrs of membership, and in return was very explicitly told that I would thereafter pay $yearly dues for lifeNonetheless, my dues have now been raised to $

If you are not aware, Hour Fitness was originally Bally'sWhen they took over Bally's they told the customers that they would be grandfathered in to their contractsToday I checked my checking account to find that I have been charged $more to my monthly membershipMy biggest issue, it that they did not notify me via email or postal mail to let me know of the increaseI called today and they said that my membership can go up at any time It is extremely unprofessional to extract funds out of anyone's account without their knowledge regardless of the amount

Had a 3 month contract made for $16 a month . After the 3 months they kept charging me $28 for the following 2 months , after those 2 months I found out they are charging me $43 a month because someone there added a person to my member ship without my permision or signature . My contract was only for 3 months , not only I have to pay an extra 6 months that I was miss lead to but now im paying someone elses member ship . Went there 3 times to speak to 3 diferent managers , got nothing out of it but upset . Was told the only thing they can do is cancel my account and I lose all this money , and the worst part is that I would still have to pay for the other person cause he was not present ( I dont even know this perso ) !!!

A couple of their male workers ([redacted] and [redacted]) were trying to sell me supplements. I said I was interested, but they tried to get me to buy steroids. I told their manager, and he discounted it. Ironically, he had a bottle on his desk.

In town visiting family for the weekend (I'm a graduate student). I'm looking to join a gym when I move back to Olympia, WA in about a year. I was a member at 24 Hour Fitness prior to moving, four years ago, and was interested in rejoining but wanted to feel out my options. I went in to do a free three day pass, as advertised on their website. The Sales Manager, Jeremiah C., refused to give me a pass because I was a previous member (in 2012). I showed him the policy on 24 Hour Fitness' website, which clearly states that "User must not have been a guest or member of 24 Hour Fitness within the last 6 months" (copied and pasted from website). I was still refused access and told to go away. Jeremiah was rude, called me a liar, and told me to call customer service but "they won't answer cause nobody's there". Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. It's too bad they treat graduate students, who have literally barely enough money to survive, this way.

After being a long time member of 24 hour fitness paying the outrageous month to month membership fee and bringing more people to the gym back in 2008, I complained that I was paying a higher monthly rate then the people I was bringing in. To make things right, I was offered a "lifetime" pre-paid deal. It was $700 up front for 3yrs and supposed to be $49 a year for the rest of my life. Today I checked my bill and it went from the usual $52.64 a year to $160.06. I called to see if there was just a mistake in billing and was informed that there was an increase in my membership dues. So much for that "lifetime" membership! The lady informed my to look at section 3(c) for clarification as to 24's rights to increase my dues. Well I paid the ridiculous increase so to have my renewal. Here is what I don't understand nor do I feel this is good practice by 24. In section 3(c) it states that on the monthly membership, they were capped at a 3% increase. Why was my membership not subject to the same rules? I can understand the need for 24 to have a fair increase even though I was told I was "locked" into my annual due. However, to jump my membership from $52.64 to $160.06 is robbery. I know that come next year if this is not resolved I will not be renewing my membership, and I will make sure to let every other member I know to leave as well. I hope 24 will do the right thing as I have had memberships to them since 2004. I know I'm also not the only one who is upset with this kind of business practice. If you don't believe me, take a look at all the complaint boards and blogs happening. To 24, I advise you fix this or you're most likely going to have a mass exodus on your hands. At this point people are pissed off more about the money, it's the principal of the matter. I'd love to discuss this further with a manager of 24.

I had been a member of Bally's Fitness for many years. They always notified me when my yearly membership would be up.
Bally's was taken over by 24 Hour Fitness. My Bally's membership was autoatically transferred to 24 Hour Fitness.
I never received notice that my year membership was to expire and I was vacatoning out of New York at the time this would occur.
Many phone calls, working my way up to supervisors, and being told that my gym membership expiation was my own responsibility is an unacceptable answer.
A supervisor just told me that I would have to rejoin at a much higher price. This is unfair. They have my records and see how many years I have been involved with the gym.
I just want to be reinstated so that my membership at the Yonkers, New York branch,, after so many years, continues as it should have.
If not resolved, this should scare people away from joining 24 Hour Fitness.

I cancelled my account with 24 hour fitness on March 31, 2016. Upon signing up I paid for first and last month dues for myself and my husband. The day I canceled was 3 days after I made a payment. I was informed that I was only going to be given 30 days of club usage from the day of cancellation. I told them I had just made a payment so I should be coveted for that month from the payment I had made plus the I still had the 80 dollars I had paid when I signed up for our "last month".they said I basically lose the month I just paid for and refused to reimburse my payment. Then today I noticed a charge from 24 hour fitness for 40 dollars. It's been 3 months since I cancelled our accounts. They told me my husband's account wasn't canceled, it was put on hold so the 40 dollars was his yearly dues and was non refundable. They refused to give the money back because there were no notes on the account stating it was supposed to be cancelled. We have to now contest the charges with our bank. They wouldn't own the fact that their employees made a mistake and correct it. I hate this company. Worst experience I've ever had.

Be very careful when signing up for a membership, they tell you that you can cancel anytime with no fees and that is a lie, we cancelled our membership 3 months ago and they still keep taking money out of our bank account for 2 months now. We have called and talked to the supervisor who assured us it was cancelled and no more fees would come out but they still continue to take the fees every month.

This place was dirty. The manager start a class that took up space in the normal work-out areas. When I went into the area the trainers told me I could not use the equipment because of a class. This class was NOT in the separate room with the classes.

This is a relatively new club. I do not normally go to this club. I usually go to the UTC Super Sport before work. The UTC Gym open shortly after Balboa. The UTC Gym is pristine! Clean, well cared after and great staff. This weekend I decided to workout at the Balboa Gym. Wow! This place has gone straight into the toilet! The locker room was a complete mess. It was wet and filthy. There were wet and dirty towels everywhere, including the showers. The showers where filthy with black mold. The place smelled horrible. Half the showers where in disarray. The handicap looked like it barely worked. [redacted] 24hour?
If I could figure out how and to whom I could report you I would! This place is completely unsanitary. How you ever pass a health inspection is beyond me!

I am moving and went to cancel my membership at 24 Hour Fitness. The representative on the phone offered to put my account on a 24 month hold, so that when I started back I wouldn't have to pay an initiation fee. I agreed. A few weeks later I checked my account and noticed that I had been charged a $10 monthly fee for having my account on hold. At no point had the representative mentioned anything about this. When I called 24 Hour the new representative informed me that the charge was valid since they had sent me a confirmation email. I hadn't seen the email, but in any case billing someone for something they didn't know about and just notifying them doesn't constitute an acceptance as far as I'm concerned. Stay away.

A friend and I went to the Meyerland 24Hour Fitness in Houston, Texas the other day. We were lifting weights and minding our own business. The club's manager we think [redacted] Canda told us to rack the weights used by some other person. We told him that we did not use those weights. [redacted] insisted that we rack the weights, then some little chihuahua named Isaac came over to say he is going to call the police and will escalate things to have our memberships revoked. I pulled out my phone to start recording. Isaac knocked the phone out of my hand and [redacted] said if you touch Isaac we will call the police and have you arrested. We picked up my phone and left. These two lovers need to be fired.

Horrible customer service. After canceling my membership, I've never use by the way, agent tells me you hsve a past due amount of such and such, after being charged since August 2015 a monthly fee... rude representative, supervisor wouldn't get on the phone to speak to me regarding issue either... NEVER again will I join or have my family members join this franchise...

I have had the worst experience with any customer service department ever. I called to inform them that my husband had lost his job we needed to cut bills and the gym membership was something that we had paid on for 6 months and never even used. They gave me the option of pay 234 early termination fee on each account, freezing the accounts for three months and then activating them again, or just removing my card from the account so they could later send me to collections. I tried to explain to them that we had no idea how we were going to even eat next week and a gym membership was not even something that we needed, I offered to pay one more month and walk away. Instead they refused, I was forced to put the account on a freeze and they will not terminate the account. I would never recommend this company. I just want this account cancelled, want to walk away and never have anything to do with them again.

I set up an account with 24 hour fitness a signed a commitment contract 8 months into my contract they decided to close my home gym and are telling members to go to other locations which non of them are convinient or near me I would literally have to take 2 trains , a bus and a train so that I can work out way completely out of my way. So I decided to terminate my contract and they want to charge a cancelation fee. They already have my all of my info and yet are requesting for me to fax proof of address I asked for the corporate office number which rep by the name of Friday denied to provide I requested a manager which she also Denied to put on the phone this people are terrible they kept the gym in bad condition always dirty full of dust ,
