In January of 2020 I filed a damage claim related to a towing services that was contracted through AAA. My car had broken down and I called AAA to tow my car to the car shop. Upon leaving the car shop I heard a loud noise when my car was taken off of the tow truck. I didn’t think anything of it until a few days later when I saw that there was significant damage to my tire well. I filed a claim and submitted images. I then played phone tag with *** of AAA Colorado. I have since emailed her and left several voicemails to follow up on the claim and never heard back.

AAA Colorado Response • Aug 24, 2020

Ms. had service on January 4, 2020 and we received her initial damage claim on January 16. We contacted Ms. on January 21
requesting a statement of the damage to the vehicle, the suspected cause and
photos of the damage and a repair estimate or invoice. Our Damages
Specialist received photos of the damage and a statement from the member
regarding the suspected cause of damage. Voicemails were left for Ms. on
February 3 and February 4. Due to no contact from
the member, we closed the damage complaint on February 18. Ms. had a
service call on March 28 but made no mention of her damage claim. I spoke with Ms. on August 24
and explained why her claim was closed. Ms. agreed to provide us with
the additional documentation necessary to reopen her claim within the next two
weeks.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I would like to share my experience in the hope that I can bring awareness to others. I recently had to have transmission work done on my vehicle. I was in an area high in the mountains rather small town, with no transmission shop. After having my transmission looked at by the local mechanic, I was told that the issue was more than he could handle he referred me to transmission shops in the outlying Denver region about 70 miles away. I am a AAA member with 7 100 mile toes per year. I called AAA at this time and ask to speak to a manager or a supervisor or someone to find out whether due to the fact that coronavirus had shut down all public transportation in my area All buses trams etc, absolutely nothing was running, I asked whether their policies were changed in any way to accommodate circumstances surrounding coronavirus closures. I explained that the possibility of any form of public transportation was nil, I did not have a second vehicle and I had no way to pick up my vehicle after its repair I asked whether I could have my vehicle towedboth ways. Also asked whether I could present my AAA card the first time in person when the vehicle was removed and the second time upon its return and the agent I spoke to whose name was Alex said well I don't know I know we're making some exceptions and trying to accommodate some what to this Nationwide closures bet a lot of people are not allowed to ride with tow trucks I don't know let me talk to my supervisor. He put me on hold and I heard elevator music for about 5 minutes when he came back he said yes I just spoke to my supervisor and I was told that that would be possible we can tell your vehicle both directions it's fine for you to just present the card at 1 pick up and again upon delivery yes this is fine I asked if I could get something in writing or if they could make a note on my account or something and he said I can't do that but my supervisor just cleared it so there's nothing else you need to do is fine you can have it towed and we'll tell both ways. So I proceeded to do that when I called after my vehicle was repaired to have it brought back to me I was told that the age and I had spoken to or his supervisor or whatever the case have been mistaken under no circumstances would AAA towing operable vehicle regardless of circumstance or what I had been promised by their agent on a recorded monitored line. I proceeded to file a complaint with AAA headquarters I was told that if an agent makes a mistake that is not the company's problem the customer has to pay out of pocket to retrieve their vehicle with a tow company of their choice AAA will not refund anything nor will they pay for such regardless of what their agents or supervisors tell you. If it is not official company policy they can lie to you in any way they choose and theres legally nothing you can do. So, I have a $350 hard lesson. I am extremely angry at the Injustice of this. . AAA is a highly deceitful disreputable and dishonest company .o dnot believe a word anyone tells you they are the biggest pack of crooks I've ever encountered

AAA Colorado Response • Jun 23, 2020

AAA Colorado received this complaint from ***
home club, AAA Mid Atlantic, on June 10. We investigated the incident and
found the following:Ms., a resident of Dillon, contacted AAA Colorado on
April 27 and stated she needed to have her vehicle towed to Denver for repair
and she wanted to know if we would tow it back to her once it was repaired as there
was no way for her to get to Denver to pick up the car once the work was
finished. The agent she spoke with provided incorrect information to her
and advised her we would cover a convenience tow to get the vehicle back to
her. This agent is no longer employed by AAA Colorado.Ms. then called on May 27 to get the tow to Denver
and spoke with an agent who didn’t advise the member that we don’t do
convenience tows when she mentioned she spoke with someone who approved
it. Due to this, the member continued to believe we’d tow her car back to
Dillon. Feedback was sent to the agent’s supervisor on June 10 regarding
the issue. When Ms. called on June 2 to have her repaired
vehicle towed home, she was advised that isn’t a covered Emergency Roadside
Assistance service. The member spoke with an agent and then a lead agent,
who reiterated the policy. The member complained the lead agent was rude
and feedback was sent to his manager on June 10.We regret the misinformation and inconvenience Ms.
experienced and the issues have been addressed at AAA Colorado.
Complaints of this manner, including reimbursement requests, are handled by the
member’s home club as they would be the ones to provide financial
compensation. Ms. filed her original complaint with AAA
Mid-Atlantic, and they advised her they wouldn’t provide reimbursement for her
tow. This complaint should be filed with the Revdex.com chapter in her home
club’s area.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: I did file a claim with my home club I signed up with AAA in Springfield Ohio and they rejected any refunds or reimbursement even though your company made a mistake and refused to fulfill the promise your agent made me on May 27th.I have complained to the headquarters in Florida I have filed a complaint with Colorado AAA I file a complaint with Ohio AAA and Ohio AAA will not call me back. This is unprofessional and very unsatisfactory. I am doing all I can as a private party I don't know what else I can do I have filed a claim and your company will not respond. You are a nation wide business!I've spent over a month now trying to get this straightened out and I can't get anywhere people refer me to one thing or another or another. I did exactly as you said and filed a claim with Ohio. someone needs to deal with this. I'm getting pushed from one departmentto the next, and getting nowhere extremely frustrated and feel this is highly unprofessional.

Sincerely

Doug W: I called for roadside assistance at noon, was given a 45 minute estimate, called back after an hour, and they checked and said it would be another hour. The second hour elapsed and a kind soul seeing my hood up asked what was wrong, and when I said dead battery he said "I've got cables" and got me going. Just about the time I got a call from AAA apologizing for the long delay. I said never mind. Very disappointed in response time, after being a member about 40 years and almost NEVER having availed myself of this serv\ice.

My son was in a traffic accident on 2/1/2020. He called triple a using the mobile app at 9:40 pm. CSP was on scene waiting for the tow driver but no one showed up. In the mean time a different tow company was called which is not covered by AAA. So now I have a tow charge, storage bill and am unable to retrieve my belongings from the car. I am thoroughly upset and this is unbelievable.

B*** E, *** Lee’s son, was in an
auto accident on January 31. He provided us with his location but the
information was entered incorrectly. The service provider arrived at the
location that had been entered into the system and was unable to locate Mr.
E***. The provider called Mr. E and there was no answer so AAA was
advised of the situation. We also attempted to reach him and left a voice
mail asking him to contact us as the driver was unable to locate him.
After no response, we canceled the service call. Mr. E’s car was then
towed by a Colorado State Patrol provider. AAA isn’t responsible for any fees
incurred due to the vehicle being towed by the CSP but we’ve spoken with Ms.
Thompson and have offered to pay for one day of storage as a goodwill
gesture. She’s been provided with reimbursement information by email and
is satisfied with the resolution.

I have been paying AAA roadside for the premier Rv towing package.
My wife got a flat near Blackhawk co about 1am in 9 deg temps,
I called AAA for covered service and no company in Blackhawk
Or the Denver Metro area would respond. They did find 1 tow company in Parker Co who was currently on another job and with the
Distance it would have been at least several hours . I had to change the tire myself and was injured. I called the same tow companies in Blackhawk that contract with AAA but they wont handle jobs like this because AAA does not pay enough. A company wanted 300.00 to tow the car to my home which was ridiculous and unnecessary. I asked AAA to refund my yearly payment and they refused. I have never used the service I paid for for years until now and they could not help.

contacted us for
assistance with a tire change on January 20 at approximately 1:00 am. We
advised her that due to the time of day and rural mountain location that we’d
contact her with the service provider’s estimated time of arrival. We
located a service provider who advised us they could assist when they completed
the current call they were on and at 1:45 am, *** contacted us and
requested an ETA. We let him know that we found a service provider that
would be there once they finished their current service call and he informed us
that he was going to drive up to assist his wife. We continued to attempt
to locate someone who could assist her more quickly. At 2:30 am, Mrs.
*** advised the service provider that her husband was on the way to help her
and she canceled the service call.Mr. filed a complaint with
AAA later that day and we emailed him to apologize for the delay, advised him
of the steps that AAA was taking to ensure a delay like this didn’t happen
again and that we appreciated his feedback. Mr. replied that he was
unsatisfied with our response and requested to have his membership cancelled
and refunded in full. We let him know that his membership would be
cancelled on February 15 when it expired and that because he’d had active
service for more than 11 months that he was ineligible for a refund. We spoke with Mr. after
receiving his Revdex.com complaint and let him know that we will refund his

Called AAA for a tow because the gears went out in my car. The wait time window was 1 hour and the tow truck arrived in 37 minutes. The driver was the best ever and worthy of 10+ stars, he had me explain what the car was doing and ask me to pop the hood. After messing with it for about 10 min he told me to try driving it a round the block, he would wait. Did what he asked and to my suprise the gears worked again ! He then followed me for several miles to make sure his repair would hold, it did. That was it he went one way, I went the other, a tow wasent deducted from my allowed tows and he fixed my car well enough to atleast get it home. Unfortunately I didnt get his name but am very grateful to him and to AAA.

Regarding unauthorized auto-renewal charges by AAA Colorado, Denver Roadside Service.

I signed up AAA Colorado Roadside Service for one year without consent for auto-renewal on 8/15/2016,

However AAA continued to charge my credit card; $90 for 2017 and $91 for 2018 without notifying me.

After discovering these charges, on 08/15/2019, I called AAA to complain and was told that I signed up for Auto-renewal.

BUT AAA COULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY DOCUMENT TO PROVE MY CONSENT.

AAA has refund me the unauthorized $91 charge for 2018.

BUT AAA REFUSED TO REFUND MY $90 UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE FOR 2017.

Ms. joined AAA Colorado in 2016. The promotion form that she joined on had the following verbiage immediately below her credit card information and immediately above her signature that said, “Your membership is automatically renewed on this credit card so there is no lapse in protection. You can change this arrangement before your renewal period.” Sixty days prior to renewal, she was sent her new membership card that stated on the billing statement that no action was required because the dues would be charged to her credit card. If she wanted to make other arrangements she could call AAA. This happened in 2017, 2018, and 2019. After she received the 2019 renewal noticed she called AAA to end her membership. On that call, we credited her membership on her credit card for 2019 and 2018. She requested that we also give her credit for 2017. Upon further review, we realized that she used no services during her entire membership, so on October 21st we notified her that we were going to send her a check to refund her 2017 dues as well.

Can I give a no-star rating? I pay for my granddaughter's membership because she's in CO and we're in Utah, thinking it would bring me peace of mind. Ha! In February 2019, my granddaughter called AAA because she had a flat tire. That's February in Colorado, a lousy time to be standing on the side of the road. She was denied service because the person she talked to couldn't find her name in the database. I am so disgusted that I will never renew her membership with AAA Colorado again.

Guess I can't leave a no-star rating if I want to post this. They don't deserve a whole star.
