I write in reply to the receipt of this members rebuttal.Although I understand the premise of your questions, this is a unique situation in that the representative from your home Club who will be re-inspecting the vehicle, is not the person who will direct liability. Whether the inspection is done at a shop or, at your residence, we will need a variety of pictures, preferably with the wheel removed.

I write to acknowledge the rejection / rebuttal from this AAA member.Although I understand that this was not the answer you were hoping to receive, unfortunately, this is a firm policy with the Club.

I write to acknowledge the receipt of the members rebuttal to our reply.In the interest of settling this matter amicably and, simply as a gesture of good faith to our AAA member, we would be willing to extend a onetime reimbursement of half of the amount of the ABS sensor and associated labor. By the members calculation, it would be $231.00. In the event that the member is looking to recover the entire amount of the repair and labor, this would have to be pursued independently by the member with the independent service provider whom he alleges is responsible and, his repair shop that has alleged that it occurred as a result of the towing of his vehicle.

I never received and correspondence or email or phone communication stating that my membership lapsed. Again I could see if I didn't have auto pay and I never sent out a check, but I did hav autopay and have had an 8 year plus membership without any problem. I also stated that just used road side assistance in May and should have been told then that my membership had lapse. This is also negligence on aaa. I'm an also very appalled that aaa is not willing to take care of and dedicated 8 year plus member over an obvious oversight. I'm not satisfied with this result. I am only asking to reinstate my plus membership.

I had the opportunity to review this matter with our employee who had spoken with the complainant.A full membership credit was applied for next years membership renewal, the complainant was asked if he still needed our assistance with service, he indicated that he was going to purchase a battery and install it himself.

I write in reply to the complaint that you filed with the Revdex.com.  We have spoke to the consumer and reviewed this situation. We have decided as a gesture of good will to provide a reimbursement in the prorated amount remaining on the battery.

quality photographs (1 picture of the odometer, 1 of the wheel on the vehicle). Typically, when our Club inspects allegations of damage such as this, we do so in a repair shop environment, on a lift. The photo's and documentation alone, are not enough to substantiate the validity of this claim. We will be contacting [redacted] at AAA Hartford to arrange a re-inspection.

The car has been looked over and there isn't anything that is/was draining the AAA battery. Since the last communication with AAA, I've purchased a battery and the car is running normally as it did prior to the install of the AAA battery.

As per our policy, we were not afforded an opportunity to test the battery prior to replacement and in instances such as this a refund would not be provided. However, as a gesture of goodwill and in recognition of your membership tenure we can apply...

an internal credit towards your next membership renewal, in addition to the other three members’ on this account, totaling $118.00.

Upon further review, I noted that there had been a previous account set up in the persons name, with that knowledge, it would seem that a prudent person would be familiar with what they had purchased. Although there have been subtle changes over the years to membership benefits and services, transfer of membership to a non member has never been allowed. Typically, when non members call to join and obtain service, it is because there is an immediate need at the roadside. I was pleased to see that we did offer to join the non member and extend coverage for service however, the offer was declined.Our decision remains to uphold the cancellation fee. As previously stated, all terms of membership can be viewed at AAA.com.
