Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I will only agree to bring in the vehicle and have the front seal (pump seal) replaced, as was previously offered by AamcoIf it is not the front (pump) seal that is leaking then the vehicle can be reassembled and refilled (to the correct level) with transmission fluidI will rescind my complaint with Revdex.com and will consider the matter closed.I will be unable to watch the process due to work, so I will instead request a person acting on my behalf be present to witness the work being done. This person has experience working in auto repair shops, including transmission servicingI request he be treated with respect, as he will do the same.Again, only the front (pump) seal will be examined/replacedIf it is not this seal that is leaking, then no other examination is required or wanted.I am requesting this work be done in one day, as the person acting on my behalf is doing so as a favor to meI would like to take up as little of his time as possiblePlease provide me with a day and time later this month (August 2016) that is best for you Regards, [redacted]

RevDex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by AAMCO Transmission regarding complaint ID [redacted] .Sincerely, [redacted]

Dear ***, We have review our data base and the case file for Mr***. Our findings is that all work that was done on Mr*** vehicle was with his consent. We are required by AAMCO policy to obtain authorization prior to work been conducted Thank you
***

yes it is Aamco of Lemon Grove

This job was done almost a year and a half ago all we did was install customers supplied transmission lines and replaced his pan that was rusted out and new filter at the time of the repair the fluid was very dark and overheated probably due to driving vehicle low on fluid we recomended a
transmission overhaul at time of repair as far as it being overfilled it will not raise pressure in transmission that is controlled by the computer and a pressuere control solenoid in the transmission

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***
I'm not sure that the Aamco Lemon Grove location realizes the impact that this whole situation put not only on myself but on my family and lively hood
During the duration of two whole months without my vehicle which was covered under warranty, I was not provided a rental vehicle from the Aamco Lemon Grove location, I was able to out of pocket rent a vehicle for two weeks which was over $cost After I returned the rental vehicle, Al from the Aamco Lemon Grove location still would not provide a rental and gave me the run around the next month and a halfI could not make it to work on time without a vehicle, I eventually lost my job at Qualcomm Incof years employed there because I became unreliable on getting to work on time I'm having marital issues now from not having a job, I'm currently unemployed and it's taking a huge toll on me with stress and heartacheThis is all due to the Aamco Lemon Grove locations unwillingness to honor the 50,mile warranty "THAT WAS COVERED" Yes I did contact the Aamco corporate office who continuously apologized to me and WAS WILLING to assist me with a rental vehicle for the duration that my vehicle was being serviced at the Aamco Morena Blvd location
Here are my terms for compensation:
I wan't to be compensated at the minimal $2,for the damages that were done in regards to the loss of my job, the impact on my lively hood and my family and now marital stress with my wife
Once that is settled, I will willingly delete / remove all comments that were posted on Yelp and other sites for reviews on Aamco Lemon Grove
I think that this would be considerably fair due to the heartache and frustrations I have been dealing with since February 2,
I find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/15) */
Ms*** had her BMW 740il towed to this center on March 30thIt was towed in because the transmission had internal damage to the point that it would not moveMs*** had already purchased a salvage yard transmission and
asked us to install that transmissionWe had to push the vehicle into our shopThat transmission was installed and Ms*** picked up her vehicle on April 2ndShe drove the car out of our parking lotIf we had not removed her transmission and installed the salvage yard transmission that she supplied, she would not of been able to drive the vehicleMs*** has a *** type of transmissionThat is not a serial number but that number is on a tag on the transmissionBoth transmissions would have that number on the tagWhen Ms*** brought the car back to us, the vehicle had a vehicle speed sensor codeWe referred her to Ditzler's Automotive where they have more sophisticated equipment to deal with foreign vehiclesThey did a diagnostic and determined that the computer in the vehicle needed to be reprogrammed and they did soIf Ms*** is still having problems with her new salvage yard transmission, her warranty is through the company she bought it fromWe did not supply the transmissionOur repair order states: Towed in, no movementCustomer has their own used transmissionWe performed an AAMCO minor service, component replacementNo warranty on customers own used transmissionAgain, we would like to reiterate, that the vehicle did not move and had to be towed in and was pushed into the shopIf Ms*** was able to drive the vehicle away, then the salvage yard transmission had to had been installedWe performed the service that was asked of us, therefore we are not willing to refund this customer any money

On October 23, at 2:32pm Ms*** presented her Toyota Corolla, License number
/>
***, VIN: *** Mileage: 93,to AAMCO for a "Check Engine" light being
Illuminated
A scan of the vehicle revealed a trouble code of P0741- "TCC Stuck off'' The TCC Is an acronym for
Torque Converter Clutch which is part of the automatic transmissionBecause the torque converter is
not accessible without removing the transmission from the car, the customer was advised that the
transmission removal was necessaryJust to remove and inspect the transmission and torque converter
is a job requiring about hoursMs*** was advised and gave authorization on October 23rd at
4:16pmThere was no duress or force placed upon Ms*** for this inspectionThe transmission
and battery (for access) was removed from the vehicle and inspected by a transmission rebuilding
technician with over years experienceThe technician found damage to the internal parts of the
transmission and also recommended the torque converter be replaced
Ms*** was given the technicians report and the repair cost and responded with ''The car Is going
back to the dealer for repairMs*** insisted the transmission be reassembled and put back in the
vehicleThis process involves replacing gaskets that are damaged during the disassembly process,
reassembling the transmission and re-installing it in the vehicleThis procedure takes approximately
hours and Ms *** was informed that we were only going to charge the same as the removal cost
When Ms*** became upset, we waived the reassembly charge and restored the transmission to its
former conditionBecause the technician replaced gasket and readjusted the internal parts, it improved
the operation because of his procedure
After the transmission was installed, the battery was then installedTwo batteries were adjacent and
the wrong battery was installed in the car in which Ms*** was advised the following day

I had my vehicle serviced by AAMCA on April and paid $to have my brakes replaced and to have my Censors replaced and resetThe Day I drove home from the Shop the Check engine light came back oni contacted the shop and they advised me to come by and have them put another censor in my vehicleAfter I left the AAMCA the check engine light came on again and the Traction light continued to effect my driving capabilitiesi had to leave work again to have them look at my vehicleAfter waiting for an hour and a half the manager at AAMCA informed me that I would have to take my vehicle to nission dealer to have them re-set my censorsi asked the manager why this was not explained to me prior to the purchase of the censorthe manager informed me that I would be responsible to pay the dealership to re-set my censori asked the manager why they did not inform me of this and why they allowed me to leave the shop the 1st time if they were already aware that they were not abl

On March 10, 2014, *** *** presented her Mercury Tracer to us stating; "the check engine
light is on" We performed a FREE Multi-Point Inspection to determine the cause of the check engine
light on conditionWe found the following codes;
PTCC System
Performance
PShift Solenoid A Fault
PCylinder #Misfire Detected
To address these codes In the most economical way, the basic cure is recommended firstFor the first
two codes It Is a transmission serviceIf that does not correct the problem then an internal service may
be recommendedFor the last code, a tune up is recommended especially when the consumer does not
have records of previous serviceIn the case of this vehicle, we followed the protocol and the
least expensive repair first
Since we are NOT a smog station, we are not permitted or licensed to perform smog repair of certify
that a car will pass the smog testWe make no representation is our statements to consumers that we
can guarantee the smog will pass or make repairs on vehicles that fail the California Smog TestWe do
not have smog equipmentto test for smog compliance
In the case of this vehicle, on completion of our repair, the codes that were found are clearedIf any
code reappears, we will check for no charge
Sincerely,
AAMCO Transmissions

As far as deferring customers from online forums, yes, we recommend customers bring their vehicles in to properly have them checkedAlthough these forums may refer to similar problems customers may experience, there are several things that can cause drive ability concerns and each recommendation
for repair may differTo prevent customers from spending unnecessary amounts of money throwing parts at their vehicle to attempt to repair it, we always recommend a thorough check to be completed
We provide a Multi Point Check that includes a detailed check externally of the vehicles mechanical system, a road test to verify the customers concern and a diagnostic scan of the vehicles computer system for any codes for $After reviewing your paperwork a thorough Multi point check was completedThe purpose of the check is to determine if there is something that is able to be fixed with a minor repair or adjustment or if there is something more serious to where the transmission needs to be rebuiltIn this case it was confirmed that you have an internal issue and the transmission needs to be rebuiltAs far as being able to tell you exactly what caused the failure, the next step would be to remove the transmission from the vehicle, take it apart and thoroughly inspect all the internal components for wear or damageIn any given transmission there are anywhere from 200-different working components that are installed inside of a completely sealed caseThe only way to determine the exact cost for the repair as well as the cause of failure, it would be necessary for us to proceed to the next step which would be the internal inspectionIf you decide you want to move forward with the next step of this process then we are more than willing to apply the $towards the repair itself

On 10/15/2016, *** *** brought her Mitsubishi Galant to AAMCO stating there was a flapping noise. A qualified technician performed a road test and hoist check and found the exhaust was restricted and had fault code P"catalytic converter efficiency".
Diagnostics were authorized in the amount of $and found the exhaust manifold containing two catalytic converters had broken internally and pieces were found in the exhaust system downstream from the exhaust manifold. Ms*** was advised that the exhaust manifold needed replacement and was given a price for parts and labor in the amount of $2,144.08. The part is ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DEALER AS AN ORIGINAL PART. Ms*** authorized the repair 10/5/at 11:46am by phone ***. She was told that pieces of the original manifold's catalytic converter went into the rear catalytic converter and muffler and may also need replacement. On two subsequent visits the technician told Ms*** that the remaining exhaust system, (after the manifold) is plugged. We recommended she take it to a muffler shop for further diagnostics. Again, the broken manifold (we still have in our possession) came apart and pieces from it went into the exhaust system after the manifold catalytic converters. The original invoice #*** states "may need muffler replacement"Since the original problem was addressed and repaired, the customer authorized the repair and we identified additional repairs were necessary, no refund is warranted. A copy of the repair order #*** will be sent by fax

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedthis is *** *** and my e-mail is *** and I am following up on a complaint against Aamco of Lemon Grove, they finaly fixed my truck to my satisfaction and I don't want to do them any harm but I would like you to know that they have poor customer courtesy by not keeping me informed about any progress and it took weeks what should have taken days and it cost me dearly for not having my work truck so there you have it, you can withdraw the complaint or do whatever you do in a case like this but I will never use them or refer them again.***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:AAMCO's database is incorrect and they have falsified information as I never consented to the repair I talked to the manager the day of the repair about this issue and since the repairs had already been conducted, I had to payMy payment does not indicate that I consented to the repairs, it only indicates that I made a payment in order to get my car backI called customer service about this as well and never received a call backI tried to resolve this issue three times via telephone call to the store and customer service with the same result: the repairs were completed and I paid, therefore there was nothing to disputeAgain, I only paid to get my car back and for no other reasonRegards,

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/12/09) */
On 3/21/2014, Ms*** brought her Plymouth Neon, with XXXXXX miles to our center with a check engine light onIt showed a code of *** We replaced a TCC solenoidOn 5/9/2014, Ms*** returned with a check engine light on
and a code of *** which is a common evap codeWe replaced a leak detection pumpOn 6/27/2014, Ms*** returned with a check engine light on and a code of POThis time we replaced an evap valve and a vacuum hose
Some things to note: This is a high mileage vehicle that had a used engine installed by another repair facility prior to Ms*** bringing her vehicle to usThere was weeks between each of her visits hereIt has been 1/months since we have last seen this vehicleAll of these repairs come with a day warrantyCheck engine lights come on for a multitude of reasonsThere are dozens of sensors, solenoids, switches, and valves on this vehicleAlthough we did these repairs, it is very possible that the check engine light in a vehicle with plus miles (in June 2014) and a used engine will come back onFor these reasons, we are denying Ms*** request to return her money

I am rejecting this response because: I called in before I came in and asked if they can find out what is the problem with my vehicle and they said yesThe next day when I took my vehicle in I asked again if they would be able to tell me what's wrong with my vehicle and they said yesThey should not have said that if that's not what they were going to doI was lied to and coursed into bring my vehicle in just for moneyI specifically asked if they could find the problem and he stated yesWhen I called in and spoke to a man who said his name was ***; he said he don't know why the employee said that And I feel since it was the business/employee fault for telling me that I don't feel its right for me to pay for a service I was told I was getting and did notThat information should fall on the business not the customerThat is what he advertised to meI'm not asking for something I did not payMy problem is still there with no help from AAMCOI did not expect for my transmission to be removed for $39.95; I expected a diagnosisThey are automatically suggesting to remove the transmission because that would get the business more moneyIt might just be a bad sensor or clogged filter that's causing my loss of power which neither requires for a transmission removalIf the company REALLY cares about customer satisfaction like they stated then I want my refundIt feels like a hassle to get $back after being dissatisfied/lied toI am dissatisfied because I was given false/wrong information from one on THEIR employeesI would like my $back so I can put it towards ACTUALLY FINDING my problem with another business. I do not want my transmission removed from AAMCO. I do not like the service or the rudeness I have received from the AAMCO Transmission shop on Franklin BLVD

October 4,I took my car to aamco to get diagnosedI was having a weir noise going onSo they checked it out states its a catalytic converterAt first I said no to the repairs then ten minutes later I OKed the repairsI was called later on that day and was told the price and OKed it was told my car would be ready on October 5,about 9amI picked it upEverything appeared to be OKUntil I drove it up to 80mph...the noise was backI called *** at aamco told him the noise was back He said bring it...I brought it in a few days laterI had a family death so I couldn't bring it in that dayWhen I brought it in*** the same guy who worked on it said what wrong with it I said its making the same noiseSo *** had *** recheck it*** checked itminutes later he said he fixed it...in the process *** was on another call making racist comments about myself and another customerWhen he came back to the front I asked *** why would he speak about me that wayHe said
