Review: When I initially brought my 2005 Acura TL to the Lemon Grove location, the previous owners [redacted] and [redacted] were **ways on top of the situation and provided Excellent customer service. I had my whole transmission rebuilt and it worked perfectly for about a year. I have a 3 year 50,000 mile warranty through Aamco. During the Time that my car was serviced, this location provided me with a rental vehicle which was really cool. This shop is now under new ownership by a person named **. My transmission started to act up and slip in 2nd and 3rd gear. I called and spoke with ** and right off the bat knew that I was going to have a very difficult time with him and his new staff. He could not locate my past invoices with warranty info, I had to give him **l my invoices until he finally found me in the system. He said to me that he would never give a 50,000 mile warranty to anybody and that he only offers a 35,000 mile warranty. I asked when I could bring the car into the shop to get serviced and he immediately said: "Well, we have over 30 cars that need to be serviced now so bring in your car sometime next week". I was okay with that at the time. I dropped off my vehicle on 2/3/2014 and during that whole time in the shop, I got the constant run around from ** and his staff stating that they are still waiting for parts. On week 5 I c**led my extended warranty company to let them know the experience I was having with this Aamco shop in Lemon Grove and they immediately cracked the whip on them. The following week,"WEEK 6" I finally get a call from ** stating that my car is ready to be picked up. SIX WEEKS GUYS! During this time I had to pay for a rental car out of my own pocket $450 which I could only afford for two weeks and that the Aamco Lemon Grove shop would not honor. This Aamco location also charged my warranty company an additional $800 for parts and service that was supposedly performed even when this car was still under their 50,000 mile warranty coverage. When I picked up my car, ** had the nerve to say to my face... "STOP HOT RODDING YOUR CAR" ... WOW, REALLY??? To make matters worse, they failed to install 5 BOLTS, Important Bolts two of them being the transmission bolts that connects the transmission to the engine. My person** mechanic did a full inspection and found that my bearing and engine mounts tore from the car being suspended on the lift for a month and a half and to top it off.... MY CAR NOW RUNS WORSE THAN EVER... 2nd and 3rd gear continuously slips, 5th gear jumps and jerks when the accelerator is pressed and the reverse gear does not work at all.Desired Settlement: The total amount of the repair came out to over $3,800. My extended warranty company paid the first $2,500 and I paid the remaining $1,800 out of pocket. I want that $1,800 which I paid out of pocket back in cash since my vehicle is now in worse condition then when it was brought in the shop for repairs back on 2/3/2014. I also want Aamco lemon grove to refund me for the $450 of rental car charges that I paid for out of pocket too. Lastly, I also want a letter of apology from this location since this situation put myself and family in a re**ly difficult situation for six weeks being without our vehicle. Revdex.com, I can provide receipts of all the invoices also from Aamco and the rental car company for your records.

Thank you!

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].

I'm not sure that the Aamco Lemon Grove location realizes the impact that this whole situation put not only on myself but on my family and lively hood.

During the duration of two whole months without my vehicle which was covered under warranty, I was not provided a rental vehicle from the Aamco Lemon Grove location, I was able to out of pocket rent a vehicle for two weeks which was over $500 cost. After I returned the rental vehicle, Al from the Aamco Lemon Grove location still would not provide a rental and gave me the run around the next month and a half. I could not make it to work on time without a vehicle, I eventually lost my job at Qualcomm Inc. of 4.5 years employed there because I became unreliable on getting to work on time. I'm having marital issues now from not having a job, I'm currently unemployed and it's taking a huge toll on me with stress and heartache. This is all due to the Aamco Lemon Grove locations unwillingness to honor the 50,000 mile warranty "THAT WAS COVERED". Yes I did contact the Aamco corporate office who continuously apologized to me and WAS WILLING to assist me with a rental vehicle for the duration that my vehicle was being serviced at the Aamco Morena Blvd location.

Here are my terms for compensation:

1. I wan't to be compensated at the minimal $2,500 for the damages that were done in regards to the loss of my job, the impact on my lively hood and my family and now marital stress with my wife.

2. Once that is settled, I will willingly delete / remove all comments that were posted on Yelp and other sites for reviews on Aamco Lemon Grove.

I think that this would be considerably fair due to the heartache and frustrations I have been dealing with since February 2, 2014.

I find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: Today July 19,2013 at aproximately 1030 I made a call to aamco company to quate for my transmision problem. a person name [redacted] advise me to bring the car over so they can diagnose it. he offered a free towing from my residence to thier shop its about 18 miles away. [redacted] said its free towing regardless if I want to have the car fix or not. so I told [redacted] yes lets do it its free towing cant go wrong with that. he said yes its free towing. at around 12:09 my car was in the shop for theme to check the problem. an hour or so later they said my transmision needs to be rebuild. I ask the cust to fix a low of 1,400 to 2,500 dollars. wow I said thats too much money for a 1998 200,000 some miles. I sak for the cause of my TCC TORQUE COVERTER SWICTH TO BLOW FUSE ? cant give me sraight answer. so ok sorry I cant afford 2,500 dollars for this repair. [redacted] WAS APSET and said you owe me towing fees. I said what towing fees you told me its free towing. [redacted] said well its not free because you chose not to have your car fix with us. I said it will cust me 2,500 dollars to fix it? I dont have that money to spend. [redacted] said well then you need to pay towing fees I end up paying towing fees of 126.04. I was so upset at [redacted] and this company. I told [redacted] hey look here iI HAVE AAA TOWING SERVICE the only reason I did not use my AAA because you said its free towing. and now your charging me towing fees of 127 dollars? I [redacted] TO ARE A RIP OFF BUSINESS AND SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS AS SOON AS POSIPLE.Desired Settlement: I want my money back that I pay this company. I use credit card so its on file that day and time I conduct business with this company. and to the point that if there is enough compliant against this company its should be put out of business.

Response:

I do apologize for the miscommunication, but here at our center we do offer free town WITH any major repair or service. Looking over the diagnostic report, there were two problems that were occurring with your van unfortunately. One being internal transmission problem as well an external electrical problem. Reason we could not offer you a straight forward on the electrical issue is because further diagnostics would be needed to identify where there electrical issue was. Our Multi-point inspection that was offered to you before the vehicle was towed in included a VISUAL inspection of the mechanical systems, Road-test, a scan of the vehicle's computer and also a visual undercarriage inspection once the vehicle is on our lift. If any repairs or further diagnostics are needed that is an additional fee for diagnosis, now the labor charge for the diagnostic is credited towards any repair so we do consider it a fee inspection still, but that has to be authorized by the customer, and that was declined at that point and time. In order to ensure your satisfaction I would be happy to extend an offer the credit the cost of the tow of your vehicle towards any future repair here at our facility. I do apologize for any inconvenience and the miscommunication, but we strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction, if you have anymore questions or concerns please call our facility 619-697-8311

Review: In February 15, 2015 [redacted] and myself, [redacted], brought in our 2000 [redacted] to have transmission flushed but was told from the visual inspection that it would need to be rebuilt. Ok we said and was told by [redacted] about financing options that were available. The first option was declined but the second one was approved. This was just for transmission to be rebuilt. The next day we get a call from [redacted] talking about how the power steering pump needs to be replaced and how he can process another financing payment form. Then he said hold on that he is going to make a call and see about maybe adding it to the bill already being financed. [redacted] and I said ok that could be workable since it had to be done anyway. He called back (the same day the 16th) and said yes the financing company can do that but we had to sign papers. We were at the DMV at the time so everything had to be done electronically and I did sign papers through the email link. We drove up to them that same day to get printed receipts and [redacted] asked about warranty and adding it. We discussed the prices it costs while the car was in shop compared to the prices it would be when out of the shop and added later on. We reluctantly chose the lifetime warranty instead of the three year warranty. The next and final day we were there to pick up our van we wanted to make the change to the three year warranty before we even got the keys. That is when [redacted] said that it can't be done because the paperwork is signed already and all sorts of paperwork has to be completed just to make the change through the corporate office. So that is when I just recently thought about googling the corporate information on5/18/2015 and spoke to Gregory to find out from him on the 21st that they can't do anything that the aamco has to do it. [redacted] is now saying that they can't do it because it's past a week and that nothing can be retracted only added. I find this very odd and unjustified.Desired Settlement: We just want for the difference between the two warranties to be adjusted or refunded accordingly. We don't want the money to come back to us but to the financing company at least because we are still paying on it too. If the money was ever refunded that is where it would go to, the financing company. We understand fully that it is a three year warranty and wanted that for our final option and tried to make that change then before we drove off. It's so weird that things can keep being added but nothing can be retracted especially with the warranty.

Re: [redacted]In response to customer complaint #[redacted] where [redacted] is requesting a refund for the difference she paid for the lifetime warranty and the 12 month warranty. Additionally, a request or a refund of the power steering repair,On our repair order number [redacted] (attached) [redacted] approved the upgraded t warranty and the power steering repair. After installation of the power steering pump, it was found that the rack and pinion (steering gear) was defective. [redacted] could not afford the additional repair and had to decline the addition work.On a subsequent visit, [redacted] returned for the power steering leak. Our inspection found the pump leaking due to excessive load on the pump caused by the defective steering gear. The pump was replaced under warranty at no charge but the steering gear was causing an excessive load on the pump.A refund for the entire power steering repair was made and this complaint is now considered settled. ??[redacted] AAMCO Transmission 8074 Broadway Lemon, Grove, CA 91945

Review: had transmission rebuilt on Dec. 22 2014 and paid almost $3000.00 and had to bring it back 3 days later because it was shuttering in high gear but they couldn't see it so I took the repair tech. for a ride and showed him at low speed and he acknowledged it and I left it and they put in an additive and told me it was fixed but it was doing the same thing and I brought it back and two days went by and I got a call that they couldn't find anything wrong so I went down and took the same tech. for a ride and it did the same thing and I left and didn't hear from anyone so I called them on the 14th. of Jan. and asked what the problem was and I was told that they were waiting for parts and I waited for another week and called again on the 25th.and they said they would call me back and didn't so I called again today ( 26th.) and they gave me the same lame excuse as last wk. ,that they are waiting for parts. I know that I could order anything from anywhere and know exactly when it will arrive and so I feel like they are lying to me and stalling because I paid them already so I'm not a priority now.I can't work without me truck and it is costing me $200.00 a day and I can't recover that.Desired Settlement: I am on a fixed income and have to work to suppiment my income to survive and they have cost me $2000.00 so far that has put me in the red and at my age I can't make it up.If they can't fix it right and now, I am going to sue for lost time and lost vehicle use.their customer service is vary, vary poor when you leave a customer not knowing for weeks what is wrong or what is going on.

Consumer

Response:

I have the original contract in the truck ,which is in the transmission shop now for 5 weeks and the bank statement with the purchase at their business which I can supply when needed but I do have the original invoice no. [redacted] for the 2006 toyota tundra which I have a copy of and which I can show but I don't know how to send it by computer. it took 2 days to rebuild the transmission and get it back to me, delivered 12-20-14 and picked up 12-22-14 and now 5 weeks later they can't give me a delivery date or reason for delay, that's unacceptable.

Consumer

Response:

yes it is Aamco of Lemon Grove.

Consumer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.this is [redacted] and my e-mail is [redacted] and I am following up on a complaint against Aamco of Lemon Grove, they finaly fixed my truck to my satisfaction and I don't want to do them any harm but I would like you to know that they have poor customer courtesy by not keeping me informed about any progress and it took 5 weeks what should have taken 3 days and it cost me dearly for not having my work truck so there you have it, you can withdraw the complaint or do whatever you do in a case like this but I will never use them or refer them again.[redacted]

Review: On July 15, Jersey Shore Transmission towed my car to their shop. They gave me a brief description of what I would need to repair my car. Did not provide me with a written estimate. When they began to remove my transmission from the vehicle, they stated the owner stated he broke a solenoid as well as may have damaged the internal part of the case that houses the transmission. So he took apart the clutch housing as he explained it to me. He said he realized what the "problem" was. But that gears, clutch plates ect looked fine. He mentioned parts/labor have a two year warranty when he took my car into his shop. Week went by and he told me , he was having problems aligning the two case halves and also that I would have to pay for the solenoid he broke. He said its goner cost me 250.00. I tried to reason with him but he insisted I would pay for the part. He told me my car would be ready the latest July 20th. I kept calling to find out the status of repair. He continually kept stating he is experiencing much difficulty with the installation of the transmission. Again, telling me give me a couple more days and it should be done. he would not return my calls until I stated I needed my car and if he can not complete the job by the next the latest completion deadline, I want him to remove my car from his shop. I would have another transmission shop tow it to their shop. I also said I would need to rent a car because I have responsibilities and a child to care for. He immediately called me back to state he just needs a 3 to 4 more hours and it will be done. So he kept putting me on hold, therefore leaving me unsure as to rent a car. Aug 5th , I gave him no alternative but to release my car. He already informed me he may have damaged the When I arrived, he was determined to keep and finish car. He said he is only giving me one year warranty on leaks. he is not responsible for transmission. I have be stuck for 25 days without a car. He has cause me mental stress but was very unprofessional and unethical.Desired Settlement: I want him to provide me with a two year warranty on parts and labor. I also want a two year guarantee on my transmission as he admittedly caused some damage. I would like invoice reviewed by Revdex.com to determine if he overcharged me and reimburse difference. I do not trust his business; I the warranty/guarantee be honored at his expense with a transmission shop of my choice. After 25 days without transportation, I had to rent a car. I request reimbursement for expense.

Review: This is an abridged description of my experience with the AAMCO in Lemon Grove, CA between Thurs., 10/23/14 and now. I sent a request to their "Comments" page because that was the only place I was directed when I tried to file a complaint. A copy of that email is available if needed.

I took my car in for a free diagnostic check for my Check Engine Light. The code said it was something with the transmission. When I said I would take it to the dealership or my personal mechanic, I was told that my car was getting worse every day I drove it, and "basically having a stroke and [I'm] asking it to run a marathon". My objections did not sway Jerry, and he insisted I leave it with them for a $395 inspection. I had no way home, my phone was dead, and instead of offering theirs, they told me I could rent a car despite budget being one of my concerns. He told me to get things out of my car, and one of his coworkers would take me home. Not seeing another option, I relented. After getting home, I made a few calls, and decided to opt out of having them do any work on the car. The next day when I got a hold of them to say I did not want anything done, they told me I was too late, they had already started. When I said I would be taking it elsewhere for the repairs, I was THEN told of an additional $395 reassembly fee that had not been mentioned before. After about 45 minutes of back and forth over the phone, I was able to get the reassembly fee waived. However, it took until the following Tuesday for my car to be ready. I took it to the dealership who told me not only was there nothing currently on the computer nor in its history indicating a transmission issue. However, a leak in the water pump and a belt that needed to be replaced because of the leak, both of which Toyota fixed. I then (10/29) got a call from Jerry saying they had installed another car's battery in my car, and mine in the other person's.Desired Settlement: AAMCO to pay for a new battery fitting a 2005 Toyota Corolla, and it's installation, that the Toyota dealer in El Cajon, CA will install. I do not trust the AAMCO to install it properly or without harassment.

AAMCO to reimburse me $395.00 for the unnecessary inspection.

Re: [redacted]

On October 23, 2014 at 2:32pm Ms. [redacted] presented her 2005 Toyota Corolla, License number

[redacted], VIN: [redacted] Mileage: 93,633 to AAMCO for a "Check Engine" light being

Illuminated.

A scan of the vehicle revealed a trouble code of P0741- "TCC Stuck off'' The TCC Is an acronym for

Torque Converter Clutch which is part of the automatic transmission. Because the torque converter is

not accessible without removing the transmission from the car, the customer was advised that the

transmission removal was necessary. Just to remove and inspect the transmission and torque converter

is a job requiring about 4 hours. Ms. [redacted] was advised and gave authorization on October 23rd at

4:16pm. There was no duress or force placed upon Ms. [redacted] for this inspection. The transmission

and battery (for access) was removed from the vehicle and inspected by a transmission rebuilding

technician with over 30 years experience. The technician found damage to the internal parts of the

transmission and also recommended the torque converter be replaced.

Ms. [redacted] was given the technicians report and the repair cost and responded with ''The car Is going

back to the dealer for repair. Ms. [redacted] insisted the transmission be reassembled and put back in the

vehicle. This process involves replacing gaskets that are damaged during the disassembly process,

reassembling the transmission and re-installing it in the vehicle. This procedure takes approximately 6

hours and Ms [redacted] was informed that we were only going to charge the same as the removal cost.

When Ms. [redacted] became upset, we waived the reassembly charge and restored the transmission to its

former condition. Because the technician replaced gasket and readjusted the internal parts, it improved

the operation because of his procedure.

After the transmission was installed, the battery was then installed. Two batteries were adjacent and

the wrong battery was installed in the car in which Ms. [redacted] was advised the following day.

Review: Arrived at Aamco Transmissions on 12/8/14 to have the free diagnostic testing offer performed on my 2005 Nissan Maxima as the 'check engine' light in my vehicle was on for approximately one week. After providing my basic information and keys to my vehicle, they then took my vehicle for a road test during the testing. I was then advised of the error codes from the testing, and was also told that my axle broke during the road test. Prior to visiting Aamco on 12/8/14, I had my vehicle inspected and a wheel alignment was performed on 12/9/14 at a [redacted] service center facility. The inspection was in depth, and there was no mention of any axle issues. The reps at Aamco were hesitant to show me the actual issue, and would only state that it could have happened at any point. They initially stated the mechanic did not leave the premises with my vehicle, then upon questioning the details of the testing, he did leave the premises with my vehicle. They immediately asked me to leave my vehicle, and they would provide an 'answer' later that afternoon with no promise that anything would be resolved same day. They were refusing to accommodate me in any way. Stressed to them that it was a huge inconvenience as I did not make plans to leave my vehicle. As of 12/9/14, I've called several times regarding the status of my vehicle, I was quoted a total of over $650.00 to repair all, including the diagnostic issues. Again, no time frame provided as to when the repairs would be completed.Desired Settlement: To complete any repairs (axle issues) as a result of the diagnostic testing road test performed. With no expense to myself.

I took my 2004 Mitsubishi Galant on Thursday Dec. 10th, to be inspected for transmission problems (it was rebuilt it 2 mos. ago and has under 250 miles on such rebuilt by another party) So, I was not expecting to be a big and expensive fix! I went here moved by an add that said" AAMCO check and tells you what's wrong with your car for free" (TV or online don't remember) They said, it will be $395.00 charge to inspect(open it) and after checking it they will tell me what's wrong and how much that will be. Before that I called same location and Ball Mitsubishi and I was informed that a transmission fix ranged from $1,800.00 to $ 2,500.00. Like I said before I was expecting such repair to be no more than $1,000.00 due to the previous repair, but to my dismay, today Monday Dec. 14th they called me to tell me a very long list of "problems" including: a pump, solenoids box, new clutch, and many other parts to be more $4,300.00 then minus a "special discount and a 10% for AAA members and applying my initial payment of $395.00, my due payment for the "repair" will be, $2,700.00. I accepted because this is the car we use to go to work(wife and I) I complained about the price and I mentioned(again)that the transmission was rebuilt it 2 mos. ago and that we drove it for less than 250 miles so, it couldn't be a need for such a big repair! They said" well driving it with a faulty pump will give your transmission great damage" to "help me" they hooked me up with a financial party that gave me $3.000.00 credit for 6 mos. with no interest. They also said to me with the initial call, that a rebuilt transmission job was 20 hours (3 days) and as you can see, from Thursday Dec. 10th to Tuesday Dec. 15th(that's what they promised and still to be confirmed ) it's a total of 5 days or 40 work hours! That's not good!

Review: Took vehicle on May 6, 2014 for transmission repair and paid $2725 in cash. On May 31, 2014 the vehicle stopped working driving on the parkway. The vehicle was towed to Aamco in [redacted] and eventually towed to [redacted] on 6/5 or 6/6 for repair. The vehicle was ready for pick up on 6/9/14. The vehicle broke down again on 10/31/14 and was towed to [redacted] The vehicle was ready for pick up on 11/06. The vehicle broke down again on 11/20/14 and towed to [redacted] again and was ready for pick up on 11/24/14.

The company has repaired the vehicle under the terms of the warranty, I am not disputing that. I do not understand why this vehicle has had to be repaired 4 times. It has been most distressing. I still do not feel it is repaired properly. Besides the total inconvenience of the constant loss of a vehicle over the past several months, my safety and the safety of my children are a concern. The time missed from work, the cost of rentals, and inconvenience of this entire situation, the owners of the company are extremely, rude, unprofessional, and have treated me down right nasty including throwing me out of shop when I requested an invoice of service that they failed to give me when the vehicle was in on 10/31/14. I have been nothing but patient and understanding during this terrible ordeal. I am appalled at the treatment I have received and quality of work this company has provided.

They did offer to pay for a rental on 10/31 and they gave me a check for reimbursement. However, when I tried to cash check the funds were not available. They refused to return my call and explain. They have refused to give me a list of all the repairs made and refused to reimburse for rental again this last time. They have had my vehicle for over 25 days total leaving me stranded, unsafe, inconvenienced, and frustrated.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $2725.

Review: I took my car to these guys for a trans and for my check engine light, $1500 later they tell me it was some sensors and my brakes was bad. So of course I had them change them. As Im driving off the lot my trans is still slipping !!!!!!!I turn back around and drop the car back off and tell them and they looked just dumbfounded . An hour later they call me back "sorry sir it is the trans"!!!!! FOH SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I PAID FOR BREAKS AND OTHER THINGS AND I CANT EVEN DRIVE THE CAR. WHO DOES THAT ,!!!!!!!! AAMCO. FOH IM SURE THEY KNEW THIS ALREADY AND FIGURED WE MITE AS WELL GET SOMETHING OUT OF HIM....Desired Settlement: I expected them ,being transmission specialist in all, to have let me know I had a transmission problem among other things that was way more important than the breaks , like all of the other issues that came up making the car useless to drive anyway . Why fix brakes on a car that has a failing transmission and catalytic converter. I wished they were in my shoes and thought why would I even bother fixing the brakes if I cant even drive the car? ??!!!!

Review: they had my car for 3 months sent it to two places and still not fixed the problem and charged me $900 now the other place said they don't charge me 1200 to fix it they didn't fixDesired Settlement: just fix my car

Review: I have a [redacted] 6 3.0 manual transmission. I recently got used transmission put in last week(probably a mistake). Yesterday I started hearing a clicking noise Sunday when I stepped on the gas. Later that day, the sound got worse and the car started to shudder and shake violently. After that happened I could barely get any power to my wheels and the engine sounded loud. I brought it back to aamco and now they are saying that the upper portion of the engine is faulted. I had no engine problems before this.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my car driving the way it should with no additional problems at no additional cost.

Review: I brought my 2004 honda civic to aamco transmission in [redacted] right before christmas to have my transmission rebuilt since getting it back the car has had to return to the shop on numerous occasions due to losing clutch pressure and not going into reverse it had to be returned for this 5 or 6 times now o discovered its popping out of 5th gear on the highway at speed and brought the car back which they promised me a prompt repair its been 3 weeks and according to them they havent even ordered the part and my car is at an employee of another locations house they did not have my permission to move the car to that location it seems they are trying to run out my warrantyDesired Settlement: I would like them to finish my car as I have been taking a taxi to work non stop for the past few months due to poor repairs I also think due to the numerous occasions of these poor repairs I should be entitled to a full or partial refund

Response:

We replaced Mr. [redacted]'s with another rebuilt transmission 4/25/2014. We also extended Mr. [redacted]'s warranty until 10/25/14. Mr. [redacted] seemed happy with our service

Review: My vehicle was brought in for service at this location. Prior to this, my boyfriend placed a call to the location (as I do not know much about car services). However, I observed this call via speakerphone. My car is a 2001 so I was aware that there may be an issue doing the transmission flush. The owner, [redacted], was aware of the age of my car. Since I work full time, my boyfriend dropped the car off for me. [redacted] was not present for this exchange. My boyfriend spoke to the associate present and was asked if [redacted] was aware the car was being dropped off. My boyfriend told him [redacted] was. The issue lies within the fact that I was then charged a diagnostic fee because there was rust that prevented the transmission from being flushed. I was never informed of any diagnostic tests that were performed nor did I authorize him to do any diagnosing. [redacted] alleges he told my boyfriend (and by proxy, myself via speakerphone) that there was a charge. I assure you that is not the case. Since he was not there when the car was dropped off, he cannot say that it was said then. There are no signed documents that corroborate my knowledge or my boyfriend's of this policy. Since I have an old car and knew that having the service done was potentially not possible, I never would have brought it to a place that charged a fee of this kind. The behavior of [redacted] was extremely evasive and I was grossly mislead as to the reality of what bringing my car to this location meant. I would have taken the car to an alternate place immediately if I was told that additional fees (aside from the agreed upon charge for a transmission flush) could potentially occur. As a broke grad student, I definitely pay extremely close attention to the bottom line. Unfortunately, I was lied to and forced to pay in order to get my vehicle back. When I called [redacted] to discuss the matter, he immediately became enraged, yelled at me, and then hung up on me.Desired Settlement: Ideally, I would like the $53 I was charged to be refunded. The business practices of this owner were evasive and I was forced to either pay or not get the vehicle back. Since [redacted] is an independent franchise owner, there is no assistance that can be provided from the Aamco corporate level, as I found out. I would just like to be refunded the money as no labor was done. Basically, I was charged for him to look at my car and tell me that he could not perform the service I wanted done. There are many places to take a vehicle, and since the dishonest practices of the owner caused me to agree to make the decision to choose this place, I feel that a refund is justified. He did not inform me of any policy and then lied to bully me into paying.
