Aardvark Research Group Reviews (338)

I needed a DD214 for a higher position at work and requested one through the normal channels five weeks later nothing. Well I got a letter saying they could not find it...So I had to do something different. I was skeptical about using a third party and not waiting on the VA. I am glad I got over it because only Two days after reaching out to Aardvark Research I had my DD214! I was over the moon impressed! The cost was much better than other companies and they exceeded my expectations!

Aardvark Research Group Response • Jul 22, 2018

Thank you for the review.

We ordered the DD214 through Aardvark Research Group on June 30, 2018 it currently is July 12, 2018. It has been 8 business days, not including 4th of July in that calculation. I understand that in an ideal world everyone could meet their deadline and commitments. So I reached out to Aardvark Research Group, I emailed on July 10 and called on July 11, my wife then called on July 12. NO RESPONSE via email or phone. I demanded a refund, NO RESPONSE. It appears that they are taking advantage of veterans. I am copying this complaint and sending it to my local legislator and hopefully getting restitution.

Aardvark Research Group Response • Jul 12, 2018

This customer placed his order through our website on 7/2/18. We ordered his records the following day on 7/3/18. The archives was closed on July 4th for the national holiday, which makes today the 6th business day. We would have expected to receive his records tomorrow, the 7th business day, although, in all honesty his request might have been slowed down by a day due to many of the federal workers taking leave the day before, and/or the day after the federal holiday. That situation does occur, and we advise our customers of the fact if they give us the chance, but as of today his records are not late. Most reasonable people understand this sort of thing.

We have only received one email from the customer, and that was yesterday, day 5 in the turnaround. He emailed us at 3:25 PM, and we emailed him back explaining how to count the business days in our turnaround times at 4:25 PM. No one has called about the order until today. Today someone called from his number at 11:30 AM, and at 2:00 PM. We haven't played the messages yet, because we just came back from the archives and it is 6:00 PM here. We will listen to our messages and return calls in the morning. Again, most reasonable people read their emails before accusing someone of not responding to them, and most folks will leave a message and give you a few hours to return their call, before they start contacting their legislators, but the world is full of all types.

In accordance with the customer's request, we will go ahead and cancel his order and give him a refund. It will be a full refund minus our search fee, since we have already searched for, located, and requested the record. By the time he reads this, we'll probably have it ready to go, but by then he he will probably be contacting his television station, and senator's office to complain about us, rather than looking a closer at himself, which is what he ought to be doing.

A very positive review. Aardvark kept their promise and provided exemplary service to me in requesting a replacement DD214 for my original that was lost in relocating. Highly recommended to anyone in need of these services. Response time was about 10 days.

Aardvark Research Group Response • Jul 12, 2018

We provided this customer with his Points Statements and his Reserve Discharge Order, in addition to his DD214, which pushed the response time to 10 days.

Aardvark did exactly what they said they would do. Pleased with their services.

Aardvark Research Group Response • Jul 09, 2018

Glad we could help out.

Excellent service!
I was very skeptical of using a third party to provide my DD214, but I needed the document in two weeks so I decided to give Aardvark Research a try. They provided my DD214 by email in 10 days and a hard copy two days later. I was very impressed with their communications during the process and that they delivered on time. They exceeded my expectations!

This company did everything they said they were going to do and it took less time then they thought it would take. I was very pleased with them and any email I sent I got an answer back very quickly.

What was promised was absolutely delivered

These people were great! Got me the information I needed promptly and were very helpful. I would highly recommend them to others

Great service. I requested a hard copy of my DD214 along with emailed electronic copy. I received the electronic version a day earlier than the seven business day timeline I was given at the time of the order. I woukd gladly hire them to do research again in the future.

Outstanding company that went above and beyond to help me get my dd214 in a very time sensitive matter. Highly recommended!

These are pictures of my screen showing all activity in my paypal account, There is no refund on august 5th from aardvark,   Their claim is a total fabrication   Thank you [redacted]

We emailed this person his DD214 on the 7th business day, which was a Friday. At the close of business, as I was walking out the door,  he called to say that he hadn't received the email. I asked him to check his spam and trash folders, and then went back inside and personally forwarded him the...

email again because he still claimed he couldn't find it. He emailed on Saturday morning claiming that he hadn't received the email, and threatening to file a complaint with the Revdex.com if he didn't receive the email that day. I personally went in to work on that Saturday morning and forwarded the email to both the customer and his wife. He received it, and sent us a text message saying "Thanks." On Monday when I came to work I learned that he had actually filed the complaint with the Revdex.com on the Friday.  We bent over backwards for this person, and delivered exactly as promised. I will leave it to others to figure out why a person might act like this, but it probably has something to do with missing-out on some spankings he deserved as a kid.

We cancelled this customer's order and refunded him in full minus our search fee. We don't do business with people who aren't reasonable. He ordered on a Friday--we ordered his record on the following Monday. That is how it works.

This customer ordered a copy of his DD214 from us on 1/22/2016. Because he was discharged from the Navy post-1994, the projected turnaround...

on his request was 14-21 business days. This estimate is on the Turnaround Times page of our website. We provided him with copies of his DD214 on 1/29/2016. After he received them he called and asked us for a refund. Although he did not deserve one, we agreed to give him a partial refund, because we try to keep our customers happy, if at all possible. We refunded him on 2/5/16. Once we had refunded him, the customer filed the Revdex.com complaint that same afternoon. So, this customer received the DD214's he ordered faster than expected, was given a partial refund, and yet filed the present Revdex.com complaint against us. We think things will even out in the long-run, and wish this customer good luck in the future.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2016/02/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I filed my complaint before Aardvark issued a partial refund. However, I cannot give them credit for receiving my DD-214. The Dept. of the Navy sent my form to me in response to my own faxed requests (several of them, in fact, because they required specially worded statements to authorize email transmission of DD-214s). I accept partial refund only because Aardvark pointed me in the right direction for requesting (for free, mind you) a copy of my DD-214 within 24 hours of my faxed request to them.
The fact remains that Aardvark could not fully deliver the service for which I paid and they didn't inform me of this fact until after I expended a great deal of time and effort to contact them to find out what was going on. They should be more attentive to their communications. Calling repeatedly and never reaching a human is frustrating when you're in a high suspense situation. I consider this matter closed, but remain dissatisfied.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: This company does not answer phones, I did not cancel this order ,they did over being upset about  me filing this complaint. I would like them to overnight my DD214 immediately. I ordered this on April 21st not the 24th ,why did it...

take them 3 more days to process my order? We could have talked this out if they had anyone that would answer the phone and my concerns. Most companies would not complain of a consumer calling them, they would simply make a good effort and communicating and resolving any issues.  I never agreed to any search fee, nor was never disclosed to how much a search fee is. I will also file a report with the VA Office, if need be.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I have not received the DD214 by mail or e-mail. If you sent it to me by e-mail then resend and copy the Revdex.com. There should be a date and time on the original e-mail.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This person was our customer. He hired us to locate his DD214 documenting his service in the [redacted]. DD214's are only issued to document active duty service. This customer served in the [redacted], so he wasn't entitled to a DD214, and didn't receive one. We offered to...

provide him with his separation documents from the [redacted], but he demanded that we produce the DD214. We explained the situation to him as many different ways as we could, but he just didn't have the maturity to accept reality. Because we couldn't produce something that didn't exist, we gave him a full refund minus our $25 search fee.

Aardvark delivered as advertised. I received my DD214 seven days after I submitted my request. Excellent service!

We did request a military personnel file on this customer from the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. We received a response,...

in writing, that there was no record of the customer having served in the United States Army under the name and social security number he provided.
We then requested a database search though our contact at the Department of the Army, Army Human Resources Command, which yielded the same resultthat there was no record of the customer having served in the United States Army under the name and SSN he provided.
At this point there was very little that we could do. We verified that he had given us correct information, discussed the results with the customer, and then provided him with a FULL REFUND, minus our $25 search fee.
As civilian researchers we can provide copies of military personnel records if they exist, but we have no control over the United States Army, and we can't force them to provide us with records that they have told us do not exist. Most reasonable people understand this fact, and wouldn't file a complaint against us, when their quarrel is with the Department of the Army.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/12/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Aadvark firm researchers are ripping off nationwide U.S. veterans that served after Vietnam, that are the now 2016 members of American Legion, with Certificates of Good Standing Army Service, US disaster and foreign war veterans, and is not even looking up the service numbers, claiming that sending a dob, and name would produce all records, and therefore, entitled to $25, when an Express Service was to provide within 5 days, the DD214 at $89 and was billed $94. I asked Aadvark what was up, and the researcher explained that she only proceeds on Vietnam era, enlisted without classification. In this time a veteran record request, was 1987-2000
Officer, Good Standing, as evidienced by Veteran
Health Administration eligible letter and American Legion. So I decline $25, as the answer
was no better than if an individual only placed
DOB, and Name and service era through EVetRecs
online search to the Archives. US Army Human Resource Command Fort Knox says they do this for free if sending them, the form 180. I do not anything indicating a superior private ability, which the researcher has claimed to be possible.
Did I contact and seeking, resolution, yes, and the researchers refused to search further, claiming now an inability. Well, this question
of what to do on a fail of dob, and name is the basic premise, that Aadvark was advertising, as the start of research, to produce within 5 days,
a dd214, that did not come from customer evetrecs
inquiry. This answer should be free, as did not
reach, as far as locating service numbers or serials of the units. I do not accept their response, as does not provide accurate information
by an established veteran, a member of American Legion and current Veteran Health Eligible. I have
retained, another researcher, experienced of the NARA, that is now proceeding. I would have had to as an answer be provided at least a service number or unit serial, for Aadvark to receive $25, something other than the orginal information provided, and not of conflict, because the researcher is only addressing enlisted Vietnam
era nonclassified, the regular worker.

This very confused person ordered through our website at 6:56 P.M. on 8/4/2016. 5 minutes later he sent an email requesting to cancel his order.  I have copied and pasted the email below. We canceled his order and gave him a full refund when we came into the office at 7:00 A.M. the following...
