I tried to form a NextDoor by drawing a boundary on a neighborhood map My neighbors are not interested NextDoor has contacted people for which I no longer have an address I don't know where they are finding my old acquaintances, but I am hearing complaints on a daily basis I have found the NextDoor Business to be Invasive, and unresponsive to my requests that they cease and desist from this type of marketing

Retired Socialist take "Lead" site positions and apply their Political Bias in taking action against posters

I have been trying to unsubscribe from Nextdoor at least times unsuccessfullyI have called their costumer service phone number but no one answerI have email them asking to unsuscribe me with no resultsI'm very concern and suspicious about their business practicesI'm worried about their intentions as to how my information has been usedI'm almost certain that my phone number has been shared for political and elections advertisements

Horrible, horrible experience I've asked they remove our information (my wife's and mine) and confirm, and they never responded Nextdoor has divided our neighborhood that we have lived in for over years My wife and I have never had a problem with our neighbors We've worked together to keep our neighborhood safe and preserve its charm Since nexdoor, our community seems to be in constant turmoil The issues that need to be addressed are morphed by the constant antagonistic, twisted information and accusations made by a select few that get to stay on the site as they learn to maneuver the famous guidelines and provide nextdoor with new invites They read your private messages as well, I am testament to that factThey collect as much information as possible and build their database, yet when asked to remove and confirm, they do notThey remove your post without notice and block you without notice Leads are your neighbors that are not trained or qualified to monitor the posts, and nextdoor 'help' is just as unqualified to resolve conflicts or disputesSome of what they do borders being illegalThey violate your First Amendment and run the site as a dictatorshipI would say, STAY AWAY from nextdoor!

I found someone very rude [no internet manners] on nextdoor I took my posting down and deactivated my account I would not recommend it to anyone

Very unprofessional customer serviceI was recently suspended for no reason off the siteyou have to jump through hoops to contact them and the response was because a neighbor did not like my commentThe original question was a person reaching out to find out information about their child's school and activitiesMy comment was Don't you think a parent should know the phone number to the school their kids go toI don't think thats offensive I think its common senseIn my mind I think what if there is an emergency is that parent going to go to a social media site to get the phone number to relay emergency informationNEXTDOOR says I was offensive to the female?? why because I was sending that messageI then asked next door who reported it they refuse, I then asked for corporate information her employee number ectI get ignoredVery much one sided, I have actually reported illegal activity I get messages from disgruntled neighbors who want to allow the activity and it gets ignored when I report the activity and rude messagesIm beginning to think this is a gender biased website

CarefulI was invited by someone in my neighborhood who did not invite or intend to invite meAfter realizing little value to the site, I tried to deactivate my accountThe button is intentionally hidden on the deactivation page (only way to fix it is to edit the page and remove the 'hide' tag)A week later, my spouse and neighbors were 'invited to join' by meThis behavior qualifies as phishing and lawsuits should be occurring

Next door IMO is hands down THE worst site for allowing neighbors to bully neighbors, stir the ***, threaten violence, and clearly the leads have their agenda This site should be sued and shut down

They choose to not to allow the people of the city to actually state the issues within the cityHow does this go by there company policy???? It does notthey choose to block any individual actually forming a real complaint against any one not either giving them money or not under the citySO VERY WRONGCHANGE THE APP TO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CITY!!!

I wanted to say this site was great until I realized the community leaders don’t bother with answering questions or clarifying why some people are allowed to do things that other people
Are reported for, a perfect example was cleaning companies It seems like they have favoritism and some neighbors spam the site with their services while other neighbors aren’t allowed to do so We are in a Elk Grove California where some neighbors are misogynists and bash women and when it’s brought to the attention of the leads- nothing is done It’s pretty sad, *** is a
Much better platform

Misleading postal mail to get sign upsOnce signed up their is no activity for my area
that was listed in the paper mail to have been
madeI do however receive heaps of spam emails
everydayweeks of clicking unsubscribe
dose nothing

I had very few exchanges on Nexdoor until recentlyNear the Memorial holiday, I was drawn in by a thread where the originator was ranting about fireworksI began my involvement in the discussion by suggesting that tolerance should be exercisedBack and forth this thread went with numerous people in the community posting their thoughts and opinions on the topicEventually the heated exchanges turned into offering up helpful options for this veteran who suffers from PTSD and had difficulty listening to fireworks being shot off around her houseHowever, all of this hard work and input was erased, when a Lead decided to delete the entire thread from existenceRarely is there a topic that is not met with either derision or an opposing opinionAs long as posts are not filled with profanities or threaten physical harm to another these posts/exchanges should remain on the public forumThese threads showcase the real heart beat of the communityTo engage in practices that remove posts simply because you find the content uncomfortable or because it simply differs from your opinion violates the poster's civil rightsFurthermore, Nextdoor does not simply remove particular posts that possibly violate the TOU guidelines, Nextdoor/Leads removes the entire threadThis is a disservice to the many who contributed to the growth of the threadThis whole cloth elimination of the 'problem' thread does not bring the community together, Nextdoor's stated goal, "Our mission is to provide a trusted platform where neighbors work together to build stronger, safer, happier communities, all over the world," rather it damages the community on many levelsShould all of these posts be removed from public scrutiny, entire threads, the community will not only stagnate in their growth and acceptance of others who also live in their communities but reinforces the notion that tolerance is not necessary, required or encouragedPeople are not always going to behave rationally or politely simply because Nextdoor eliminated the cloak of anonymity by requiring the use of real namesWhen people feel passionate about a subject and others rebut them, tempers will flare and exchanges will often times be less than complimentaryAnd if reasonable voices of the opposition are continued to be silenced, by the wide sweeping Nextdoor policy of whole thread erasure, the mob mentality will only feel strengthened and increase their effortsThis cause and effect is not only predictable, it's easily provableThe mob mentality seizes upon the removal of such a thread, one that does not share their views as a vote of confidence and a nod to continue their methodsMore and more, normally well meaning and rational people get caught up in the heat of the moment and say things they would not say to another's faceThis charged atmosphere, fueled with supportive likes, offers them a mechanism and a means to further their agenda of disruption, discourse and intoleranceIn theory, Nextdoor's policy of placing neighborhood volunteers in positions of authority is a good idea, however, it's very flawedFrom all that I was able to glean, the Leads are unpaid volunteers who have autonomy authorized by Nextdoor to remove entire boards that they might not 'feel' are appropriateEven if the contents of the board/posts are within stipulated guidelines, they can on a whim, remove the entire boardA very slap in the face of American values and sacred protections"Neighborhood Leads can report content, review and vote to remove reported content, or close discussions that were started in their neighborhood."
Are these leads emotionally equipped, trained or vetted by Nextdoor making them better able to deal with the occasional barrage of complaints by posters because they don't like what's being said? Or are they more often willing to cave into the pressure of the masses baying for blood?
Often times posters tag posts as a violation, encouraging others to follow in their lead if they disagreeDoesn't matter if the post does not violate the guidelines, they simply have to exist in oppositionDoes Nextdoor endorse the censorship of citizens who are being respectful yet might have a difference of opinion? Does Nextdoor encourage unidentified LEADS to post contentious comments (ieBrenda xxxx of Wynbrooke) stoking the fires that already exist? Comments that encourage the loud mouthed tyrannical few?
For that matter, should a lead who has engaged in the discussion be allowed the authority to remove an entire thread because they simply don't agree with what's being said? What of the lead who for example is a realtor, who's very income depends on the community liking them? In a small town such as Louisville, where everybody knows one another, a realtor would suffer the kiss of death should they side with the minority opinionWhat of the grandmother who's lived a sheltered life, surrounded by and accepting opinions as fact from friends of hers without searching out the truth? Should these individuals really be put into a position of power, authority over others they might disagree in principle with?
I have been posting on public forums since the 1990's and never in my life have I ever witnessed such heavy handed censorship practices for posts that do not violate any TOU guidelinesShould a community member find the subject matter of a thread not to their liking, they can quietly move on as there are numerous other threads that might interest themHowever, we all know this is not always the caseIf said member wants to voice their opposition to said subject matter, they can do so, as long as their disagreement meets the guidelines set forth by Nextdoor"Our Guidelines prohibit posts and replies that discriminate against, attack, insult, shame, bully, or belittle others."
Bigotry and intolerance should never be rewarded

I was kicked off the Nextdoor site for no good reasonI was called "vile," "deplorable," and had my character assassinated on this public forum by a group of three people who like to stick together and gang up on others and, for some reason, remain on NDI don't care about that; I have no interest in getting into any more public disputes; I want access to the site for other community reasonsThe "Lead" sent me an email saying to contact him in three days for reinstatement of accountUpon contacting him after three days, there is simply has been no communication with this person, and the email was apparently set to expire as it has disappeared from my email account

I was a user of the Nextdoor application for neighborhood communication and the issue began when a post of a proposal for neighborhood expansion was sharedIt was a heated topic with majority against the proposalIn the Nextdoor application, there are volunteer Leads from the neighborhood who can delete comments based on their interpretation of the community guidelinesA Lead of the Eagle Ridge neighborhood named Shaun***, who is pro-expansion, made great efforts to target and delete comments that did not suit his agendaHe targeted myself and other outspoken people and deleted their comments and even entire whole posts containing useful informationI messaged Shaun directly to resolve the issue but it continuedI then contacted Jennifer at Nextdoor Support and she was unwilling to help with the bullying and harassmentThen I continued contacting them and I received a response from *** Senior Neighborhood Managment SpecialistShe did review and notified Shaun of some o

This company has a good idea but have been terrible with customer serviceFirst, they don't have any kind of phone support - and it's very difficult to find out their contact info on the web siteThey offer a business page but allow very little info to be published about the business and there are very few options to customize the listingThe web site is difficult to navigate and seems to jump from section to section with no cohesivenessI'm still not sure what page I'm supposed to start out onWhat's the main page? Facebook has a page that I land on when I go onto the site and all info is easily navigated from that pageI like the idea but this company doesn't seem to know how to get this thing working correctly

I have reported someone who continually harassed me (that I didn't know) multiple times, while what he actually said on a thread (something about killing someone?!) was deleted and dismissedNothing has been done about this guy and I've reported him FOUR TIMES nowI can't block himI've told him to stop messaging meI've told ND that they are lax in letting people like this be on their platformThe leads are just "volunteers" who are biased with their neighborhood postingsMost biased website I have been on and am now leaving due to the unsafe and unfair feeling this entire platform can give

Nextdoo*** should consider screening the posts that it's leads closesIn our case, leads have turned into post bulliesThey are disconnected from the problems of our community and add little or no valueMost crime and burglaries happen on streets where the leads live but they make no effort to report themThe richer, predominantly white areas post what they want and have extensive conversations about their community without being pointed out as a reported post by their leadOur case, a lower to mid income community of minorities, there is so much differenceWe are not aloud to post anything about burglary or crime, even if it does not point out a specific house or locationIn other words, *** *** ** *** *** *** has a joke of a Nextdoor forumThe lead should be removed or put in checkAs the volunteer leader of our community, I can say for a fact that our community has gone down because people are afraid to say anythingOf course, we get a little tested, but why not? Our community has gotten worse and people need to see the crime report so that they will come out of denialOur lead has never removed a long posts from a city councilman and we don't even see them in our communities' until it's time to voteAtkins has terrible crime and when i.posted that a car had been burglarized, the lead took it downThat is a forum of cyber bullying and that is not what ND is suppose to representAnother person on my street threatened me because his pitbull ran from his yard and attacked meI injured my armWhen I posted the incident without a name, the person, threatened meRidiculous Please help us.it us hard living in a community among people who don't care

I was a happy, participating member of NextDoor for at least four years, putting the community to various uses and generally thinking highly of the serviceThat all changed last week, when the following happened: A female neighbor of mine alerted the neighborhood about her dangerous, meth-addicted ex who had threatened her with her life and stolen her identityShe has a restraining order against him and was warning people to watch out for him; a photo was includedShe messaged me to send me the same warning (I had identified myself previously as someone who was connecting our block for safety reasons) and to let me know that ND had removed her post and suspended her account for violating its "shaming" policyI posted a "meta" discussion that was subsequently removed over, again, policy violationsWhile I was sent a cursory message by ND "leads" indicating the above, I was not informed that my account would also be suspended, but that's what happened - I tried to login

This company does not follow their own guidelines..and have what they call 'leads' who are both un-informed, and practice favoritism towards specific members at the cost of 'reputation' of other membersThey fail to address issues in a timely fashion, and manipulate the system so that members can not defend themselves against accusations

So, I closed my account on Nextdoo*** todayThere has been some serious issues with Leads playing favorites, threatening members (with physical harm!) via PMs, and playing favoritesAll of this lead me to create a private group on ND so that members had a protected place to discuss issues, problems and praises related to the leads and how they manage the 'neighborhood' (which - funny enough - is EXACTLY what ND says to do in the guidelines if you do have issues with leads and moderation of the neighborhood!)No sooner had the group been created when the threats, abuse, and attacks started rolling in from a certain Lead, followed by a continuous stream of harassment from Nextdoor's so-called "support"That service is spiraling out of control - and it is no wonder that they have such a poor national reputation
