Kicked off again for trying to be helpful to friends and neighbors Not sure what this is for, large corporate advertisers, but not for local adds? I keep getting kicked off trying to offer FREE assistance to people in my Neighborhood Think I will start looking somewhere else (if I know how would go into competition with them, lots of complaints from friends & neighbors

Dishonest, illegal company who steals email addresses then uses the to market to people under the guide that a "friend recommended you join"It's a lieIt's a scam and these people should be sued by a federal agency

I can’t get them to unsubscribe me to their serviceI’ve never downloaded their app and I cannot convince them to quit filling my mailbox with junkThank you

Nextdoor.*** accessed my private email roll and invited all people in my name to joinOne friend has received six invitationsI didn’t authorize any of this** *** *** ***

Next Door is run by a group of liberal snowflakes out of CaliforniaThen they partner with your neighborhood developer or HOAThen the developer or HOA appoints hand picked leads that monitor the site and makes sure no one disparages the HOA or the developerSince most developers have close ties with the city this protectionism carries over to the city government. So if you want to have any sort of meaningful conversation get ready to be scrutinized by your lead who is just waiting to find "violators" This company is horrible and I would run away from this site

Do not sign up for NextDoorIt is not safeThey do NOT verify names and addresses per their terms of service, or else something is very wrong with the verification proceduresThis is strange, given that the #complain here is "NextDoor says they could not verify my account"!
I got sucked into an HOA situation in an adjoining neighborhood by trying to be helpfulI tried to help a resident find the best Internet service for themAs it turned out, the person I was corresponding with by private message turned out to be running a fake account - and dozens more fake accountsAPPARENTLY (and I can only say apparently, because it is impossible to know what to believe on NextDoor) this person is angry at their HOA, harasses board members day and night, etcTheir main beef is that somebody was caught charging multiple Bird Scooters in their parking garage nightlyThey want this person punished!
According to the HOA President (if it IS the HOA President...) whom I exchanged private messages with, the situation is resolved - the outlets were removedThe HOA may or may not try to fine the person who did itBut this troll kept coming back, posting the identical photos of Bird scooters being charged, again and again, under different fake accounts(Does anybody really believe that some parents inflicted the name "*** ***" on their child? And that there should also just HAPPEN to be an "*** ***", who posts in succession to "***"s, posts?
This person even faked multiple profiles of personnel from the news department of a local TV station, AND solicited individuals about "doing a story", about this or that crime that was posted (and that may or may not have actually occurred.)
At one point, the faker put up a photo of ME - which they apparently found on the Internet - on one of their fake profilesNextDoor did deactivate that account and after further prompting (should NOT have required further prompting!) removed the photo of myself(NextDoor does not normally DELETE accounts - they only DEACTIVATE them...)
There have been many ridiculous situations posted that test believabilityA hit-and-run accident, with accompanying photo an unoccupied car with a license plate showing(Supposedly taken by the victim's friend who was riding bicycles with her)A sob story about a cat whose owner had died, over the period of a month, an adoptee was arranged (of course, the animal should have been taken to a shelter...) and then at the last minute the cat had been given away by another neighborSuch is NextDoor today, that even cat stories have to be taken with a grain of saltCrime stories have to be viewed with suspicionThis person is able to apparently create accounts at will, using any name, including the usual sexually-suggestive ones you'd expect from Beavis and Butthead or The Simpsons(*** ***? *** ***? Nextdoor: at check against a list of the obvious ones!)
Here's the scary thing: if somebody angry at his HOA can create dozens of accounts to harasses his HOA, that means that as well, criminals, "The Russians", or anybody else wanting to sow turmoil in neighborhoods can do soAnd apparently with easeDon't buy the promises of safetyDon't be tempted to give your personal information to a company that does not have the means to make good on the promises about safety that they have madeBest guess: there's probably an IPO coming upBet the signup numbers are looking GREAT!

They banned me because I didn't use my first name and only my last nameWe have a household of that uses the accountUsing a first name would require more characters then allowedThis policy allows for neighbors that don't like what you say to report you for a simple non first name and nextdoor bans youA neighbor that called my kids and a non related neighbor that rescued them from a dog attack, liarsI called her out for her blatant accusationsSo she reported me because of no "real first name"So she gets to hide from her victim blaming and shaming by bannning me for something as ridiculious as a first name

Truly and honestly, it is a website that breeds bullies and residual complainersHopefully, our state and federal legislators do something about the constant defamation of character and testimony found on their websitePerhaps a major legal firm should look into a class action suite against this company to ensure proper controls are initiated by their website's community moderators

A guy personally attacked me on nextdoor.com and when I defended myself they kicked me off without any warning or contact but yet didn't kick off the guy who attacked me on the website ( Selectively bias )Furthermore the website is very badly managed by people they call "leads" who are selectively biasAlso, when people report your post the website automatically removes your post from what I have heard without even a lead or admin personally looking at the postSo basically a few people who disagree with you can have your post removedWhen I emailed Nextdoor.com they never responded backMy last complaint is they make your profile show what street you live on which is dangerous

Somehow all the sudden started receiving emails which I never signed up for and don't live near in the same state the updates are coming from Ridiculous!

I posted purely factual information about a local zoning issue and I was immediately BANNEDNextDoor also banned a neighbor for innocuous posts about a local ballot issueClearly, the company is engaged in systematic censorship and it may be that any posts that "are bad for business" are being removedThe latter circumstance is due to the reality that this company hopes to get money from advertisers and so they are weeding out anyone who criticizes any aspect of the system, economy, social structure, or current affairsThis circumstance of banning people for frankly ordinary speech is exactly what we see in CHINA and RUSSIA and other Third World countries and obviously people in business here in the U.Shave decided to emulate and apply what the dictatorships in those countries are doingProbably the only recourse the public has to fight this kind of systematic censorship is to identify NextDoor advertisers and organize boycotts

I wanted to say this site was great until I realized the community leaders don’t bother with answering questions or clarifying why some people are allowed to do things that other people
Are reported for, a perfect example was cleaning companies It seems like they have favoritism and some neighbors spam the site with their services while other neighbors aren’t allowed to do so We are in a Elk Grove California where some neighbors are misogynists and bash women and when it’s brought to the attention of the leads- nothing is done It’s pretty sad, *** is a
Much better platform

I had my account suspended without violating the community guidelines or any other agreed upon terms of serviceI was methodically threatened and harassed by another userWhen I attempted to stand up for myself after being publicly shamed my account was suspended without warning or noticeWhen I was unable to login I emailed customer supportI received a response explaining that my account was suspended for posting a personal disputeIt was the other person who had a person disputeThe letter from customer support was demeaning, insisting that I email back on a specific date with an apology and a promise to read the guidelinesThe comment of mine that led to all of this was critical of a local business and its refusal to perform a recall repair on a vehicle it had sold meI believe that this entire event is an attempt to silence my criticism and is an active ploy to discourage my participation in public criticism of a business that may be advertising with NextDoor

On January 31, I signed with NextDoor Business/Real Estate to promote my business on their website for only $I did not receive the service I though I was going to receive, nevertheless it was only $22, I was willing to let it goOn Wednesday, Feb 13, I received a call from a number ***, *** *** and I told him I was not happy with the service that I received and I wanted to Cancel my subscriptionHe was surprise to learn that NextDoor was charging me $475, he said he was going to follow upToday, I received notification that NextDoor charged my account $475.00, I am overdraft now and I never authorized this chargeI want my money backI cannot communicate with them because they don't have a telephone number, only emailI sent them emails but have not receive response yetPlease, help me get my money back and let them know they should clarifyThank you

I am the Town Manager for a municipality in MarylandNextdoor sent a fraudulent mailing to our residentsThe mailing used a name and address of a resident in our Town without her knowledge and claimed that she was using and advocating for their serviceIt is completely disingenuous and falseA company should never use a resident's name without prior approvalIt is a scam and they asked residents to join by entering an email

I'm not being given the same access to this source for recommendations in my area as others and I believe it's very unfairThe area lead Susan that is putting my account on restriction, is assuming that everything I ask a recommendation for has to do with my Investment BusinessI recently asked for a recommendation for a local realtor to help my husband and I to purchase another home as we've outgrown ours hereThe market here is very hot, so I really need to be in contact with someone local and who others can recommend, since most times you'll need to find a home before it hits the market to be successfulI've been tagged multiple time and kicked off, even though I'm a lead myselfIt's unfair to assume that every time I ask for a painter, landscaper, realtor, etcit's for my businessI own a home myself in SW Arlington and should be able to access recommendations from my community just as everyone else is able toThe fact that I rehab and restore homes should have nothing to d

Like AT&T used to hold a monopoly and be “the phone company,” Nextdoor holds a similar position over neighborhood social media, including crime & safety issues, and now they’ve eliminated my lead status and limited my account The other lead for my neighborhood, even Revdex.com complaints demonstrate the company’s bias in handling matters I have put a lot of work into my neighborhood, worked to invite and verify neighbors as a lead, completed a CERT program, CPR training, have a General Class Ham Radio License, volunteer for my community However, so far, the Nextdoor employees who have handled this problem have behaved completely the opposite of the company’s stated goals, fostering disrespect and unfairness, showing favoritism toward people outside one’s neighborhood, effectively promoting an unfair hierarchy and unfair administration of a service The other neighborhood lead felt that way when she made me one over a month ago, expressing it’s made her a “hermit.” It’s danger

Nextdoor Lakewood SUX My acct was suspended/closed after complaining about a post - physical threat from a neighbor No explanation or response"Leads" are all same Family/Friends Fox watching the henhouse Nextdoor allows this!
