All Star Roadside Reviews (642)

I had joined NextDoor a number of years agoRecent there has been a known bully on the site that is a representative of the City of Merriam, KS as a Board Member for Parks and RecHe uses the site to identify people he feels violates City CodeHe harasses, goads and needles them until individuals final confront himHe then reports them to Next Door and get them removed as well as reports them to local authorities to various perceived infractions (Allowing their cat outside, participating in TNR activities for a local non profit, etc.) His profile has been reported and not removed numerous timesHe has been forced to take social media education by the City after numerous complaints to City Council MembersNext Door, however continues to validate his presence and takes no action, but takes action against his victimsWhen you stand up to him, you are presumable banned, but since Next Door does not NOTIFY YOU that your account has been banned and refuses to answer emails or messages

Nextdoor fails to follow the practices that it states in policyThey DID NOT have any valid reason yet deactivated my account without proper notification (only sent one email and never responded to my reply)Although I responded right away to that email, more than hours have passed and they did nothing, and simply suspend my account with no further explanation or clarificationTheir unjustified action results in important communication being lost and caused significant inconvenience to my family and my neighborsNot only did they fail to notify members of potential problems and method on how to resolve miscommunication before taking actions, they disable accounts without notificationI suspect they disable account of members based on racial profile, which is an illegal practice

Kicked off again for trying to be helpful to friends and neighbors Not sure what this is for, large corporate advertisers, but not for local adds? I keep getting kicked off trying to offer FREE assistance to people in my Neighborhood Think I will start looking somewhere else (if I know how would go into competition with them, lots of complaints from friends & neighbors

My experience has not been positive during the last years with NextdoorThey seem to not follow the protocol that is set up for their guidelinesSome neighbors it seems are allowed to bully their other neighbors, while others can micromanage what they want on the feeds by allowing or removing certain commentsThe organization seems to turn their head sometimes on activity of a member or lead if that resident member is recruiting other members to make the site growWhile the intention of this site was to have neighbors helping neighbors, in my neighborhood it has turned into a site where all our neighborhoods are controlled by one bullyWe can't even share information without this person questioning or removing comments she doesn't like or agree with on this site

Nextdoor has become a troll havenSome background: A Lead is a member that has been noted as contributing or a founding member of a Neighborhood, a Nextdoor community, typically created by inviting several neighbors to the websiteLeads are meant to help stem the flow of trollsThe only tools Leads have is to remove posts from their own neighborhood (and posts that show up in the moderation queue once enough Leads voted) and sometimes that doesn't even workMeanwhile trolls are permitted to continue to harass and threaten in the larger multi-neighborhood feed, which is the most visibleNextdoor claims a Profile Report feature can be used, but the response time is absolutely unacceptable (24-hours, sometimes longer), and the admins that review these posts are sometimes just as rude and arrogant as the trolls themselvesMeanwhile, the trolls that get reported can run unfettered, continuously threatening and harassing members that dare stand up against themThe trolls recognize that the Leads that got pushed into the position of moderating the postings have virtually zero ability to stop them, and can be banned for any reaction towards to constant onslaught of harassment, threats of violence/property damage, and vile verbal attacks towards family membersI submitted a complaint as a Lead toward a group of trolls that was allowed to run unfettered for multiple days and was subsequently banned for "public shaming" , for simply asking the worst of the trolls to behave themselves and reminding them of the rules they agreed to upon joining NextdoorThis ban was given without official notificationI had been moderating on Nextdoor for years at this pointI had to email Nextdoor Support to find out that I had been banned with zero appeal processThey claim it was because I violated their "public shaming" policy for asking the users (trolls) to behave with a modicum of respectInstead of apologizing for an extremely poor experience on their website, they blamed the victim This is absolutely unacceptableNextdoor does not give the leads the tools that they need to police the neighborhoods they helped createNextdoor has several complaints of this nature in their National Leads Forum and my story is far from being the only oneI have given Nextdoor an opportunity to apologize and correct their serious error, but it will not be open indefinitely

One of the leads on this website, *** *** ** *** *** *** *** ***, sent me a pvt message & cursed me out & called me names for pointing out what I considered to be an erroneous post she made in the neighborhood forum NextDoor refuses to do anything about it A lead is supposed to be a site monitor & unbiased

We received a notice from Maricopoa regarding voting registration and encouraging in ENglish and Spanish to register on line and receive a ballot to vote This site we were told was not to be political and this is out Peoria police told our association that nextdoor neighbor would be political

CarefulI was invited by someone in my neighborhood who did not invite or intend to invite meAfter realizing little value to the site, I tried to deactivate my accountThe button is intentionally hidden on the deactivation page (only way to fix it is to edit the page and remove the 'hide' tag)A week later, my spouse and neighbors were 'invited to join' by meThis behavior qualifies as phishing and lawsuits should be occurring

I submitted a post regarding my services for dog-walking/sitting and said if anyone was interested to please reach out to me (like SO MANY other people posting their services for lawn care, etc)This is not my full-time job or anything major other than a profile I have set up through rover.com for people that want to find a reliable dog walker/sitterI think this was taken way out of line and made too serious of an issue for POST that I challenge DOESN'T EVEN VIOLATE THEIR RULES!
I was contacted via email by John with Nextdoor stating that my post was reported for violating Nextdoor's Community Guidelines on promoting my business for offering servicesThey said I can mention my business from my personal account and respond to requests and even add my business information but they also said the reason they deleted the post was because I'm not allowed to market or promote my businessMakes a lot of sense right? Extremely poor communication and a terrible site to use for neighborhood postsDO NOT USEJust scroll through all the negative reviews if that's enough of a signI wouldn't even give them a star if I couldI will make sure all friends and family are aware of this poor experience and any site I can find to give them a review onperson tells I've worked in customer service for years and this is a very poor experience by Nextdoor

I recently joined Nextdoor because the City of Olathe recommended it as well as a family member when our dogs got outI have a problem with the way the site is operated when in comes to allowing businesses to spam customers without their consentThis evening, an IT professional posted his business credentials and sent it out to everyone in our area, selling his servicesFirst of all, this is a way for a business to subvert federal spam regulationsPer federal spam regulations, a citizen is required to consent to sales e-mailsThis occurs by either having a prior business relationship with a customer or by the customer consenting to e-mailsAnd when the e-mails are sent, the business is required to place an opt out option in the e-mail, allowing for around days for e-mails to stopViolating federal spam laws comes with a stiff fineOne Nextdoor user pointed this problem out when he replied to the person's postThe reaction of people in the community was atrociousPeople pil

Nextdoor has sent me over e-mail messages, none which I explicitly signed up for They do not allow simple removal from their lists One has to not just login but agree to share one's email contacts with them in order to get to the screen where one can remove oneself from their email lists Having to share one's email contacts to unsubscribe is outrageousThe offending site is: *** Their email address is: ***

Nextdoor bans people who warn about shoddy work by people who advertise on the siteIn this case a man named Daniel *** advertises home repair and maintenance along with landscapingHe completely ruined a new screen door I had him installHe also put in a fence for another peopleOne had to have it torn down and reinstalled, the othe said her fence is falling apartWhen we tried to let people know about this, we were banned from the site, while the man ripping people off is still advertisingWe discovered he is also a convicted felonNextdoor said this is a personL disputeSince the first boy posts he makes are for his business (not licensed or insured) this should be a business dispute but they have no category for thatThey encourage con artists to be able to prey on innocent victimsIn this case single women, seniors and vets

The leads are harassing and bullying and enticing anger onlineThey delete other posts and harass the posts from those they do not likeI am in Walnut Creek and I have contacted Nextdoor and they continue to do nothing

Nextdoor.*** is a really poorly run social media appIn my *** ** area, where I am a member, the leads (non-employee social media leaders) are poorly educated and their determinations of what is or what is unacceptable posting will vary between neighborhoods that are blocks awayThe leads most of the time, aren't the most seasoned neighbors who really have lived there the longest...they're the tech nerds with lots of time on their hands after having lived there for a few years--and perhaps started the groupThese leads use too much subjectivity because the company itself provides not very clear guidelinesMost of the time, it is like garage sale with cheap people trying to make a buck or two (literally) selling used stuff that should be donated if they weren't so cheapIt really is like the Wild West of the internetIf I could give less than star, I would

The sponsorship I signed up for was for the neighborhoodWhen I found that the only people signed on to the neighborhood are people who lost their dog or want to complain about their neighbors, I attempted to deactivate my accountThey provided instructions, but the link they point to does not existI have changed my information to meaningless information, but NextDoor has saved my credit card information and I am unable to delete itI merely wish to cancel the account and delete the profiles, business and personal*** has been changed in the NextDoor App to *** (the latter email has been deleted from my domain to avoid constant spam)

My neighborhood uses this site to communicate with one another about events and issues pertaining to our neighborhood and I joined on 9/30/and on 10/5/I was no longer able to access my accountAfter requests sent to *** I was sent a rude email accusing me of having accounts and of abusing rules using an account with an email that I have never had which was the name of a person who I do not knowNextdoor's rep simply deleted my account with no warning and with no valid reasonI am now unable to participate in my neighborhood discussions and am unable to contact neighbors I was communicating with regarding helping out at a fall event happening thid next weekend which I also told the rep via emailThis site is the only one currently used by over of my fellow neighbors and others that live near meI have been treated disrespectfully and unfairly by the nextdoor rep and have no other recourse but to make a complaint here and hope it triggers someone

This website is full of hate I have been threatened along with my family and friends the leads I believe are terrorists due to the fact that only side with their own views and if you do not follow they delete you or come after you physicallyI have filed so many complaints on the website, local law enforcement attorney and know one will helpMy family and I have taken a gun safety class and also a self defense class being that no one will help take this company downThey have guidelines that is just a cover up for something more God help any of you that join that website

This company doesn't leave you alone I am not a customer, but they've kept sending me emails and now snail mail The snail mail is very deceiving as it comes with a return address from the person who started the group It makes you think the mail is actually coming from someone in your neighborhood I have no interest in becoming a customer of nextdoor and I've made that abundantly clear to the company, but still I receive snail mail which appears to come from neighbors Very deceptive and annoying

Next-door.com has rules for how they run their businessThey are not following their own rulesMy posts have been arbitrarily and capriciously removedI have been libeled by their membersI have complained about this and they have not acted in good faith to even discuss the problem with me in a serous mannerThey do not want to take the time to try to resolve the problem

Nextdoor suspended my account without notice and for alleged violation that didn't occurthey compromised my privacy by disclosing a confidential complaint I filed against a Nextdoor Lead who then contacted and confronted me in multiple angry retaliation private messages where she threatened me, boasted she found a way to get rid of me, suspended me without notice and gave a reasonI contacted corporate who instead of investigating the details simply accepted without proof or evidence the Lead's word and told me I was suspended weeks for engaging in disputes with people which was not what happened when I was suspended, I was actually being harassed, attacked and threatened at the time by an inappropriate Lead
