CarefulI was invited by someone in my neighborhood who did not invite or intend to invite meAfter realizing little value to the site, I tried to deactivate my accountThe button is intentionally hidden on the deactivation page (only way to fix it is to edit the page and remove the 'hide' tag)A week later, my spouse and neighbors were 'invited to join' by meThis behavior qualifies as phishing and lawsuits should be occurring

I have been suspended TWICE from Nextdoo*** Presently, my account has been revoked (probably because I ask them questions) Both times I was suspended, I have asked to have them QUOTE MY POSTS VERBATIM that led them to suspend me I have requested a verbatim quote of my allegedly bad posts I have NEVER received any response from them SPECIFICALLY as to why they suspended me They have NEVER been able to quote anything I've written that violates any of their guidelines Never Yet, they always defer in vague terms to their own Guidelines which they say I've violated Ask yourselves why they cannot answer simple questions The answer MIGHT be that there are simply bots working there

Nextdoor has become a troll havenSome background: A Lead is a member that has been noted as contributing or a founding member of a Neighborhood, a Nextdoor community, typically created by inviting several neighbors to the websiteLeads are meant to help stem the flow of trollsThe only tools Leads have is to remove posts from their own neighborhood (and posts that show up in the moderation queue once enough Leads voted) and sometimes that doesn't even workMeanwhile trolls are permitted to continue to harass and threaten in the larger multi-neighborhood feed, which is the most visibleNextdoor claims a Profile Report feature can be used, but the response time is absolutely unacceptable (24-hours, sometimes longer), and the admins that review these posts are sometimes just as rude and arrogant as the trolls themselvesMeanwhile, the trolls that get reported can run unfettered, continuously threatening and harassing members that dare stand up against themThe trolls recognize that the Leads that got pushed into the position of moderating the postings have virtually zero ability to stop them, and can be banned for any reaction towards to constant onslaught of harassment, threats of violence/property damage, and vile verbal attacks towards family membersI submitted a complaint as a Lead toward a group of trolls that was allowed to run unfettered for multiple days and was subsequently banned for "public shaming" , for simply asking the worst of the trolls to behave themselves and reminding them of the rules they agreed to upon joining NextdoorThis ban was given without official notificationI had been moderating on Nextdoor for years at this pointI had to email Nextdoor Support to find out that I had been banned with zero appeal processThey claim it was because I violated their "public shaming" policy for asking the users (trolls) to behave with a modicum of respectInstead of apologizing for an extremely poor experience on their website, they blamed the victim This is absolutely unacceptableNextdoor does not give the leads the tools that they need to police the neighborhoods they helped createNextdoor has several complaints of this nature in their National Leads Forum and my story is far from being the only oneI have given Nextdoor an opportunity to apologize and correct their serious error, but it will not be open indefinitely

My account was suspended after many years as a member due to violating community standards and not using my "real" name which is *** ***They asked me to send in my driver's license which is incredibly insecure to do via emailI asked if they could simply utilize the county GIS data to verify my name on the deedIt happens to be *** ***k which in when I purchased the house was my father's name which I no longer useI conceded and said go ahead and change my name to the name on the deedThey stated they couldn't use GIS data which is public record and to mail in my driver's licenseI didThey claimed they never got itI emailed multiple times and they stopped respondingdays later my identity was compromised by someone in california attempting to open a bank account in my name using my driver's licenseNextdoor caused my identity to be compromised and now ignores emails

I purchased advertising as a NextDoor Neighborhood Expert under the Real Estate Section of their websiteWhen I was solicited to purchase this advertising it was indicated I would be the only advertiser in the zip codes I had purchasedNextDoor used the phrases when advertising this placement: "Become the face of the neighborhood" , "Neighborhood Sponsorships are sold on a first come, first served basis." "Adam, there are only a few spots left", "Zip codes are going fast", "Develop a strong presence as the neighborhood expert in the markets that matter most." As you can see, all of their advertising for this placement indicates the zip codes are exclusiveNo where in the signing up or billing area did it state the advertising was non-exclusive and in the terms of service contract it did not state so eitherAfter I signed up for the advertising they created a FAQ stating the advertising would not be exclusiveA further indication this issue is prevalent and they are aware of the co

Leads are bulliesTrolls have a fertile playground with no accountabilityNo matter how much good you can do or have done for your community, one ambiguous comment can get you deleted in this totalitarian landscapeLeads protect their friends and they unite together with their friends to "mob" other usersReporting them to Nextdoor is a waste of timeThey do nothingLeads are the most powerful clique and THEY decide whether you can eat at their lunch table or notNextdoor is no longer news, goings-on, curb alerts or neighbors helping neighborsSooooo many people have stopped using it that Nextdoor practically begs it's users to recruit, send out postcards, get the word out to recover some of their user lossesBEWARE: hypocrisy IS the name of the Nextdoor1) you can't post commercial or promotion....but Nextdoor can to get you to buy things from their sponsors and monetize user traffic2) Report stuff that Nextdoor will never handle and get reported and booted off for things you never did3) Include yourself with your neighbors, but only if they allow you into their clique4) Free speech does NOT apply on Nextdoor5) Don't bully because bullying is Nextdoor and its' leads' privilegeETC...ETC...ETCLet me tell you how bad it's gotten....the police depts, schools, cities, local clubs and organizations, etc won't even use it anymoreIt's become a snake pit....where bullies and trolls quickly run off the good people....leaving a st pile of bullies and trolls left in the Nextdoor trenches and then they start turning on each other and it becomes a horrible disaster worthy of morbid curiosity

We have been having problems with a moderator on Nextdoor that is censoring everyone he does not agree withSince I challenged him, it seems that Next door disabled my accountI had already verified my account two times when it was disabled and I received this messageHi***, I’m reaching out to you today about your Nextdoor accountIt looks like you’ve signed up for a personal account at your business addressYou’ll need to follow a few steps before I’m able to restore full access to your personal accountRespond to this email with your residential address so that I may update your profile, as these are our membership requirements for a personal accountWe’re required to put a hold on your account until we can get these details updated, but if you can provide me with your residential address, I’ll get your personal account updated and reactivated right awayVerify your residential addressClaim your Business Page on Nextdoor, if desiredFinally, while we hope you maintain a

One of the leads on this website, *** *** ** *** *** *** *** ***, sent me a pvt message & cursed me out & called me names for pointing out what I considered to be an erroneous post she made in the neighborhood forum NextDoor refuses to do anything about it A lead is supposed to be a site monitor & unbiased

My experience has not been positive during the last years with NextdoorThey seem to not follow the protocol that is set up for their guidelinesSome neighbors it seems are allowed to bully their other neighbors, while others can micromanage what they want on the feeds by allowing or removing certain commentsThe organization seems to turn their head sometimes on activity of a member or lead if that resident member is recruiting other members to make the site growWhile the intention of this site was to have neighbors helping neighbors, in my neighborhood it has turned into a site where all our neighborhoods are controlled by one bullyWe can't even share information without this person questioning or removing comments she doesn't like or agree with on this site

very misleadingI got a postcard saying my neighbors would like me to join the neighborhood private communityIt is not that at allThis is some troll getting people to sign up and give personal informationI have tried to cancel their emails but they keep sending me things from their web siteWhen you call the number there is only a message saying they don't take callsI want others to know that your neighbor hood to them is in a mile radius and your neighbors know nothing about this companyThey ask what you like to do, how many children at home..I did not fill that out since I realized this was a company fishing for info to sell to advertisers Why do they always come from San Francisco?

I recently joined Nextdoor because the City of Olathe recommended it as well as a family member when our dogs got outI have a problem with the way the site is operated when in comes to allowing businesses to spam customers without their consentThis evening, an IT professional posted his business credentials and sent it out to everyone in our area, selling his servicesFirst of all, this is a way for a business to subvert federal spam regulationsPer federal spam regulations, a citizen is required to consent to sales e-mailsThis occurs by either having a prior business relationship with a customer or by the customer consenting to e-mailsAnd when the e-mails are sent, the business is required to place an opt out option in the e-mail, allowing for around days for e-mails to stopViolating federal spam laws comes with a stiff fineOne Nextdoor user pointed this problem out when he replied to the person's postThe reaction of people in the community was atrociousPeople pil

The sponsorship I signed up for was for the neighborhoodWhen I found that the only people signed on to the neighborhood are people who lost their dog or want to complain about their neighbors, I attempted to deactivate my accountThey provided instructions, but the link they point to does not existI have changed my information to meaningless information, but NextDoor has saved my credit card information and I am unable to delete itI merely wish to cancel the account and delete the profiles, business and personal*** has been changed in the NextDoor App to *** (the latter email has been deleted from my domain to avoid constant spam)

I received a letter via email that my name Urban Grass was not a valid name, then they suspended my account and wouldn't answer my emailsThey also lied about other neighbors not knowing me, which is not trueI've lived in my home for over years, and I feel they have treated me differently, and not the same as othersThey did nothing to really find out the truth and take someone word because they felt, my name wasn't real with out checking a few resources such as Google, Facebook or even tax records which are publicI've never had this problem with any media website, my Facebook account is also available for review, if they truly cared about finding out if my name is real all resources would have been used

The leads are harassing and bullying and enticing anger onlineThey delete other posts and harass the posts from those they do not likeI am in Walnut Creek and I have contacted Nextdoor and they continue to do nothing

Anyone who is contemplating becoming a member of Nextdoor, do so at your own peril as I found out to my shock recently when out of the blue, my account was de-activated without notice and for no apparent reasonUpon inquiry, I was told that I had violated their Community Guidelines because I had a dispute with one of the Leads and “publicly shamed” her by disagreeing with her in her claim that she had “immediately” edited her taunting and berating comments directed to me on a postMy approximately one year membership on Nextdoor has been one of the worst and traumatic experiences in my life The first red flag went up when upon returning from a vacation last fall, I found to my shock that our house was listed for sale on Nextdoor by some unknown Realtor Sponsor of the Nextdoor siteWhen I posed a simple and polite question to the Realtor through the comments page that was provided as to why he had listed the house, I got an email message from Nextdoor that I had “publicly shamed” the Realtor by asking that questionThe Nextdoor staff’s exact words were: “I understand it can be frustrating when you see your home for sale in a real estate listing when it isn’t for saleHowever, Nextdoor is not a place to publicly shame neighbors or businesses.” To add insult to injury, one of the neighbors made this comment: “ … maybe you should take your house being listed as a sign from whatever higher power you choose to worship that it is time to move.” Ultimately, the way the house listing was removed from the Nextdoor feed was because the Realtor who sold us the house took action and sent a warning letter to Nextdoor to immediately remove the listing, or they would be dealing with his attorneyBefore the current incident with the Lead, there were numerous occasions this past year when I had felt frustrated being on the Nextdoor site and having to endure nasty comments from some neighbors whose sole purpose is to shut down any dissentIn other words, they can say what they want, but if you disagree, they berate and humiliate you publicly through the main feed and through your private message board (PM), and when Nextdoor support is contacted for help, they take days to respond as in the case of a neighbor couple who harassed and bullied me through my PM board recently with disparaging remarks and even asking me to come “face to face” with them, language generally used by bulliesWhen I contacted Nextdoor for help, after two days of silence, I finally got a response from Nextdoor support asking me to go back and engage these bully neighbors and ask them to stop sending me messagesCommon sense dictates that engaging the bully neighbors would mean them lashing back at me againIn essence, Nextdoor wanted me to fend for myself and deal with these difficult neighbors on my ownThe other troubling issue with Nextdoor is the omnipotent powers bestowed on neighbors called “Leads” to make decisions on whose comment can be deleted and whose cannot on a post, no doubt, based on their own biases against, or for a neighborThese “Leads” are no more than other neighbors who are given that title purely based on the number of neighbors they have canvassed to join Nextdoor which is just a minimum number of ten neighborsNextdoor does not conduct background checks on these Leads nor supervise them, and for all intents and purposes they could be criminals and/or have criminal backgroundsIn sum, my experience on Nextdoor has been akin to living in a commune and/or a country under a dictatorship with your freedom of speech stifled, and with the so called Lead neighbors left to their own devices to make decisions for their neighbors without any oversight from Nextdoor managementIf I were to advise another neighbor contemplating joining Nextdoor, I would tell them to stay away from the site and their app if they value their sanity and peace of mindFor me it has not been a pleasant experience to say the least, and I have asked Nextdoor to delete my account so that I can get on with my life and not have to deal with the day in and day out nastiness and drama on the siteGood luck to all who decide to venture into that what I would call a lion’s den hoping to come out unscathed!

Nextdoor bans people who warn about shoddy work by people who advertise on the siteIn this case a man named Daniel *** advertises home repair and maintenance along with landscapingHe completely ruined a new screen door I had him installHe also put in a fence for another peopleOne had to have it torn down and reinstalled, the othe said her fence is falling apartWhen we tried to let people know about this, we were banned from the site, while the man ripping people off is still advertisingWe discovered he is also a convicted felonNextdoor said this is a personL disputeSince the first boy posts he makes are for his business (not licensed or insured) this should be a business dispute but they have no category for thatThey encourage con artists to be able to prey on innocent victimsIn this case single women, seniors and vets

Nextdoor suspended my account without notice and for alleged violation that didn't occurthey compromised my privacy by disclosing a confidential complaint I filed against a Nextdoor Lead who then contacted and confronted me in multiple angry retaliation private messages where she threatened me, boasted she found a way to get rid of me, suspended me without notice and gave a reasonI contacted corporate who instead of investigating the details simply accepted without proof or evidence the Lead's word and told me I was suspended weeks for engaging in disputes with people which was not what happened when I was suspended, I was actually being harassed, attacked and threatened at the time by an inappropriate Lead

My neighborhood uses this site to communicate with one another about events and issues pertaining to our neighborhood and I joined on 9/30/and on 10/5/I was no longer able to access my accountAfter requests sent to *** I was sent a rude email accusing me of having accounts and of abusing rules using an account with an email that I have never had which was the name of a person who I do not knowNextdoor's rep simply deleted my account with no warning and with no valid reasonI am now unable to participate in my neighborhood discussions and am unable to contact neighbors I was communicating with regarding helping out at a fall event happening thid next weekend which I also told the rep via emailThis site is the only one currently used by over of my fellow neighbors and others that live near meI have been treated disrespectfully and unfairly by the nextdoor rep and have no other recourse but to make a complaint here and hope it triggers someone

I'VE WRITTEN NEXTDOOR.COM FOUR SEPARATE TIMES TO RESTORE MY ACCOUNT TO SETTINGSCURRENTLY, THEY HAVE ME ON LIMITED ACCESSI AM THE LEAD FOR MY AREA, AND NEED THE SETTINGS RESTORED

When you find out there has been a complaint against you and they have snatched your post, they will not explain the violation after you inquire about it I asked twice, just what the violation was, and twice, I got the same pre-scripted email to review their guidelines and agree to them That made me decide I wanted no part of themCan I do a zero star?
