We have had a contentious situation in our city such that a famous national activist from the same area/state as this company is now coming to our town in two weeks for a showdown with the city water departmentThis is a political firestorm brewing which many are comparing to Flint MichiganI have had people threaten to file charges against me for my opinion and another who called the activist a B word - and those posts remain on the siteBut I have been blocked and all of my posts removed for defending the other sideClearly, someone is applying unfair bias and I would at least like the courtesy of knowing why anything I said is any more volatile than anyone else who is passionate regarding this issueI feel very selectively punished for my opinion rather than for my actual content or intent

This company is inundating people who live (for miles) around me with invitations supposedly sent in my name and at my requestThey do not have my permission to do so

The company emailed me, without me making the first contact, asking for very personal information such as a copy of my driver's license or passportThis is a very dangerous security practice and very much feels like a scamIf they need this type of information, then it needs to be asked for only if the user initiates the contact, not if they doAlso, they need to give the user the option to upload it in a secure way, rather than just asking for it using emailI have no idea if the person claiming to be the support representative is actually employed here, or if it's a scammer looking for this information

I was an advocate for this app until they falsely accused me of using it for business purposes incorrectly...we are local art supporters...we p sted many events that we were not connected to on any level except for enjoyment in knowing we support local artists...but I was locked out of my account without any explanation....when I reached out to them...I was told to uninstall and reinstall the app in a specific order on my phone...as prompted I did as requested without availAfter reaching back out to them I was informed that my account was put on limited use...because I was selling art thru the posts...which was completely false...after several emails back and forth with their consistaint accusations...I have deactivated and deleted the app...this is a horrible app to use they are bias and will not address the issues of accusations...I have asked for an apology with no avail

*** *** ** * *** *** *** If you do not agree with HIS opinion, or you have the audacity to post anything in the NLF that is not all 'sugar and spice' about how Nextdoor runs things, they ban you Funny thing - they make a big deal about NOT publicly shaming your neighbors but, if you are banned, your profile picture becomes something akin to the Scarlet Letter - big, bold and in red for everyone to see Pot / kettle, anyone?
The privacy concerns of many members are valid and Nextdoor is simply turning a bling eye in its efforts to have members (numbers) for potential investors This is why it is so difficult to actually delete your account (you almost have to ask permission from Nextdoor); by only deactivating, you are still a number in the total headcount to investors Your information is readily available to anyone in your neighborhood to export - even though Nextdoor says this is not allowed They have taken no steps to prevent this from happeningThe original idea was novel, but it is quickly becoming nothing more than a 'lost puppy hotline' and *** ***, with bullies - from the top down - running the show

I live in a townhome community of units We have a pool but no clubhouse or other central gathering place, so people don't know each other well enough in my opinion So I started the Nextdoor service in my community and it has gone well for a couple years now I wish we had better participation----only about one-third of our units belong--but we have a number of elderly owners who don't have computers or, if they have them, don't care to use them We also have a number of rental units; we allow them to join but they tend not to We have found it useful for publicizing info from the community's Board of Directors, as well as the usual lost dogs, items for sale, contractor recommendations, and area crime heads-ups Our city police use it to announce their periodic "Coffee with a Cop" meetingsWe make clear that Nextdoor is not an arm of the Board of Directors, so we don't have anyone calling out a member for some real or imagined transgression on this forum They know to take that sort of complaint to our property manager So, it's worked well for us

I had very few exchanges on Nexdoor until recentlyNear the Memorial holiday, I was drawn in by a thread where the originator was ranting about fireworksI began my involvement in the discussion by suggesting that tolerance should be exercisedBack and forth this thread went with numerous people in the community posting their thoughts and opinions on the topicEventually the heated exchanges turned into offering up helpful options for this veteran who suffers from PTSD and had difficulty listening to fireworks being shot off around her houseHowever, all of this hard work and input was erased, when a Lead decided to delete the entire thread from existenceRarely is there a topic that is not met with either derision or an opposing opinionAs long as posts are not filled with profanities or threaten physical harm to another these posts/exchanges should remain on the public forumThese threads showcase the real heart beat of the communityTo engage in practices that remove posts simply because you find the content uncomfortable or because it simply differs from your opinion violates the poster's civil rightsFurthermore, Nextdoor does not simply remove particular posts that possibly violate the TOU guidelines, Nextdoor/Leads removes the entire threadThis is a disservice to the many who contributed to the growth of the threadThis whole cloth elimination of the 'problem' thread does not bring the community together, Nextdoor's stated goal, "Our mission is to provide a trusted platform where neighbors work together to build stronger, safer, happier communities, all over the world," rather it damages the community on many levelsShould all of these posts be removed from public scrutiny, entire threads, the community will not only stagnate in their growth and acceptance of others who also live in their communities but reinforces the notion that tolerance is not necessary, required or encouragedPeople are not always going to behave rationally or politely simply because Nextdoor eliminated the cloak of anonymity by requiring the use of real namesWhen people feel passionate about a subject and others rebut them, tempers will flare and exchanges will often times be less than complimentaryAnd if reasonable voices of the opposition are continued to be silenced, by the wide sweeping Nextdoor policy of whole thread erasure, the mob mentality will only feel strengthened and increase their effortsThis cause and effect is not only predictable, it's easily provableThe mob mentality seizes upon the removal of such a thread, one that does not share their views as a vote of confidence and a nod to continue their methodsMore and more, normally well meaning and rational people get caught up in the heat of the moment and say things they would not say to another's faceThis charged atmosphere, fueled with supportive likes, offers them a mechanism and a means to further their agenda of disruption, discourse and intoleranceIn theory, Nextdoor's policy of placing neighborhood volunteers in positions of authority is a good idea, however, it's very flawedFrom all that I was able to glean, the Leads are unpaid volunteers who have autonomy authorized by Nextdoor to remove entire boards that they might not 'feel' are appropriateEven if the contents of the board/posts are within stipulated guidelines, they can on a whim, remove the entire boardA very slap in the face of American values and sacred protections"Neighborhood Leads can report content, review and vote to remove reported content, or close discussions that were started in their neighborhood."
Are these leads emotionally equipped, trained or vetted by Nextdoor making them better able to deal with the occasional barrage of complaints by posters because they don't like what's being said? Or are they more often willing to cave into the pressure of the masses baying for blood?
Often times posters tag posts as a violation, encouraging others to follow in their lead if they disagreeDoesn't matter if the post does not violate the guidelines, they simply have to exist in oppositionDoes Nextdoor endorse the censorship of citizens who are being respectful yet might have a difference of opinion? Does Nextdoor encourage unidentified LEADS to post contentious comments (ieBrenda xxxx of Wynbrooke) stoking the fires that already exist? Comments that encourage the loud mouthed tyrannical few?
For that matter, should a lead who has engaged in the discussion be allowed the authority to remove an entire thread because they simply don't agree with what's being said? What of the lead who for example is a realtor, who's very income depends on the community liking them? In a small town such as Louisville, where everybody knows one another, a realtor would suffer the kiss of death should they side with the minority opinionWhat of the grandmother who's lived a sheltered life, surrounded by and accepting opinions as fact from friends of hers without searching out the truth? Should these individuals really be put into a position of power, authority over others they might disagree in principle with?
I have been posting on public forums since the 1990's and never in my life have I ever witnessed such heavy handed censorship practices for posts that do not violate any TOU guidelinesShould a community member find the subject matter of a thread not to their liking, they can quietly move on as there are numerous other threads that might interest themHowever, we all know this is not always the caseIf said member wants to voice their opposition to said subject matter, they can do so, as long as their disagreement meets the guidelines set forth by Nextdoor"Our Guidelines prohibit posts and replies that discriminate against, attack, insult, shame, bully, or belittle others."
Bigotry and intolerance should never be rewarded

Misleading advertising Received card in mail from what appeared to be a neighbor First and last name, street name (no street #), subdivision name, city, state, zip Thing is no one with that name lives on that street I had to wonder how many people in the neighborhood fell for the scam
Particularly did not like the use of "Our neighborhood" when it's not Nextdoor.com's neighborhood

My initial experience with nextdoo*** was a good oneI let neighbors know that I offered tutoring for students K-and received nice responses and ended up with great kidsHowever, that was in So CalThen I moved back to Oregon and transferred to my new neighborhood which was anything but neighborly! I was "reported" as not following guidelines which surprised me since my post was basically the sameSo I changed the wording to supposedly "fit" their criteria comparing it to other similar postsHowever, I was "reported" again and the post deleted for a second timeIn Cal the posts were about helpful info but here it is mostly political and social media tripe

Nextdoor violates the privacy of non-members by allowing posts containing names, addresses and other personal information without their knowledgeSaid posts constitute libelous and tortuous activity, defamation of character and promote an environment of bullyingModerators have allowed such posts, going as far as suggest additional aggressive action toward the unwitting non-member and complainant states the company has a complete lack of proper oversightNextdoor promotes the privacy of its members but not of those defamed

I own a rental property that is vacantFor the past week I have been emailing customer service because I get an error when I try to sign upI own the property and have a right to sign up for next doorThe incompetent customer service keeps sending me the link that errors outWhen I call the corporate headquarters, they refer me back to the incompetent customer service I have wasted a couple hours on this

Nextdoor has guidelines members are required to follow, while Leads moderate conversations, but some Leads don't follow the guidelines, abuse their power, harass members and are not properly vetted and suited for the jobI personally experienced such behaviore from Lead,*** *** on several occasions, most recently on October 20, and October 21, when she harassed me with private messages in a row ordering me, making fun of me, being sarcastic and threatening meI have reported her to Nextdoor and they have left this unprofessional inappropriate person in her job leaving members like myself feeling intimidated and unsafeTo support my claim that Nextdoor doesn't properly vett Leads and respond appropriately to members concerns by removing inappropriate Leads I'm including two concerning comments I received on October 21, at 3:PM and 3:PM when Lead Elyse Mize sent me private messagesShe indicates she knows I reported her, which should be confidential, and

Horrible-takes two weeks to have photos removed of neighborhood childrenUsed % of time for Shaming neighbor's

Nextdoo*** is by far one of the most unprofessional networking mediums I have ever experiencedBy separating neighborhoods and not allowing users outside of those neighborhoods to view or respond to feedback left for local business, they have created an extremely unfair and illegitimate site for locals to attack a business or organizations without not only their consent, but also without a way to view or respond to the feedback with their side of the story or situationI own and run a local audio video business, and gave a local neighbor (within mins of my office) a free estimate on what it would cost to mount a TVShe was a very impatient and unhappy lady from the moment I walked in, and at the end of the consultation, she didn't like my options/pricing to complete the jobI did not charge her for a consultation, which is usually $I left and never heard back from her to follow up and complete the job, which is perfectly fineI am not the cheapest A/V business in town, and I would never expect to be hired for every estimate I give outThe problem is this; a couple days later, she left a negative comment about my business on nextdoo*** for her immediate community/neighborhoodBecause I am not apart of that community, I could not see or even reply to the negative feedback that was left about my businessSo, not only did she get a free consult, and did not hire my company, she went and "trash talked" my business behind my back on Nextdoo***, which is completely unfairAs the business owner, I should be able to see AND respond to ALL comments/feedback left about my company, regardless of what neighborhood it came fromEven Google reviews allows for business owners to see and respond to reviews, allowing them to comment back and explain their side of the situation (not every customer is "right")Nextdoo*** is completely responsible for allowing this sort of slanderous activity to take place, which is likely on the borderline of being illegal, and I truly hope legal actions will be put in place against Nextdoo*** as soon as possible by users/businesses with the power/legal representation to make that happenThe second part is this; I associated my personal user account on Nextdoo*** with my business listing on Nextdoo***I posted a listing (like other small businesses in the area) promoting a holiday special for my businessMy posting was immediately flagged and removed with a response of basically, "you're not allowed to promote your business with postings and such like this"Is that not the whole point of the site? To create a medium for locals and local business to connect and grow with each other? And I'm not allowed to make a one time posting promoting my local business? That is completely ridiculous! This is also not to mention, that as a general Nextdoo*** user, as you scroll through the feed on a daily basis, you see sponsored ads for large companies/corporations every few posts, every single dayReally? A local business can't advertise, but it's okay for Nextdoo*** to gain revenue from large corporate sponsored ads? Who let this happen? The network servers that host Nextdoo*** should also be held responsible for hosting such an illegitimate and overall "crappy" networking medium ever in the first place! Nextdoo***, grow up

A man found our neighbor's information through the NextDoor app and used that information to send her threats and stalk herShe went to court and was issued a restraining order against this manNextDoor has refused to remove him from the platform or offer blocking services, putting her safety at risk

On Sat., July 28, 2018, I posted an innocuous opinion about a construction project in my hometown of San Ramon, CaliforniaA woman in the neighborhood (VC) began a series of harassing, insulting and slanderous remarks against meHad no idea who she was or why she would do thisShe ranted and raved It went on for HOURSI contacted Nextdoor*** but it was hours before they responded - claimed they opened a report on it - stated they would get back to me within hoursIt has now been five days...NO word has come forth from them whatsoever in any way, shape or formThe local police department says this is not unusual with themWowSince I was both threatened and harassed on their online website, there really isn't any more I can do as a citizenI just think any online service that CLAIMS they are promoting "goodwill" within neighborhoods and then fails to respond within the realm of their customer service/support when such a serious matter occurs, that it indicates the site IS

Next door neighbor allows their employees or leads to allow harassing and slanderous and untruthful comments causing a harassing environment and a loss of business

I and several others who tried to warn our neighbors of a con-artist who was using the Nextdoor app to advertise his business, were banned from NextdoorI was personally harmed financially as well as others who came forward, mostly women, and were also banned by NextdoorThis man and his business claims to be licensed and insured but is neitherI wrote this response back to them after I got a perfunctory e-mail letting me know I had been banned from Nextdoor for shaming this man after he took my money and ran, please remove his name if you must *** *** *** *** *** ***)I got the perfunctory e-mail from Nextdoor telling me why I was banned from the site and that I would be allowed to petition back on after May 5thI wrote this back: Dear NextdoorYou don't get it! (see attachment) I attached a mugshot of the man in questionYou are harboring a convicted felon who has threatened and preyed on nice people like me and the others who have been removed from Nextdoor for pointing out the way they were wronged by this manI tried to explain to you politely and nicely what was happening regarding him for three days, but you and the rest of Nextdoor chose to let him continue to con people by allowing him to continue his ads and harming more people like meYes, he is a con-artist! And yes, he is dangerous! You kept him on Nextdoor and banned all of the people who were trying to warn the unsuspecting people in their neighborhoods of this thief...but for some reason, all of the warnings went unheardInstead, many of us have been removed and shamed for trying to be good citizensIs this how Nextdoor operates? I am a single senior woman who is scared to death right now that this man who conned me out of a good sum of money will seek revenge for outing himHow do you sleep knowing your company has put good people at risk? Very bad indeedNextdoor has punished the wrong people; don't you see that?
Respectfully, ***I hope Revdex.com sees fit to call on Nextdoor for some kind of explanation as to their lax policies for allowing this man to steal from unsuspecting citizens who are a part of the Nextdoor Neighborhood even after they were alerted to his practicesThank you Revdex.com for being there

Nextdoor suspends accounts for reasons that they don't explain to the account holderIt is random and violates the first amendment.after the Santa fe school shooting I posted my email to the school super intendant and a discussion erruptedI also told people that praying isn't enough that we need to take actionsIf that is enough to get my account suspended that is like living in a autocrazy with censorshipI demand answers and explanation
