Ambit offers a guaranteed savings plan in Maine, I could not be happier with this company my other companies in Maine are severally over charging people. I actually have been getting free energy for over a year now. They held their word with me since day one of signing up. There customer service has never been an issue with me. Ive always gotten such great people to speak to.

They raised the rate astronomically, I paid the full amount and 7 months later they sent a portion to collections when it was already paid
I had this outfit for a couple of years and then they decided to raise the rate, my electric bill went from $350.00 a month to $2000.00 for 1 month. I called them, they said that they had sent a letter out asking if we want a rate increase. I either didn't receive the letter or I threw it away, either way who wants to raise their rate. At that point I cancelled their service and paid the bill in full. Seven months later I get a phone call from a collection agency for $171.00 which was paid. I got the information from Delmarva Power that showed that this was paid in full in June 2018. I faxed the information from Delmarva Power. I called Ambit this morning to make sure they got the fax and they did. I just feel like this whole thing is a scam and they tried scamming me out of more money that I did not owe them

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund for part of this and then I never want to deal with this outfit again. I would like the public to know about this so that they don't have to go through what I have gone through

A review of the account confirms that customer *** enrolled for Ambit service on 5/20/14 under the Guaranteed Savings Plan ("GSP"), which is a variable product program designed to save the customer a minimum of 3% annually over their incumbent supplier's rates for a twelve-month period. Service started on 6/10/104.

Records confirm that Ms. renewed her annual product plan consecutively through 2017. On 4/25/17, records confirm that a GSP renewal letter was mailed to Ms., at the address provided in this complaint. The letter, which is attached for your records, advised the customer that the GSP program would discontinue if not renewed by 6/14/17. Ambit did not receive a renewal request, nor do we show record of the document being returned as undelivered mail. As a result, the GSP expired and transitioned to a variable product plan that offers no annual savings guarantee as stated in the attached letter.

Records confirm that Ms. was billed the standard variable rate through her cancellation date of 2/23/18.

At the time of cancellation, Ms. had an outstanding balance of $367.22, and she provided proof of payment for $171.05 of the balance, leaving a remaining outstanding balance of $196.17.
Please note, Ms. contacted our office on 2/19/19 to confirm that she will start making payments toward the final balance shortly. The account was flagged and notated as requested.

I have been an Ambit Energy customer for 3 years now. They have a phenomenal customer service staff. My bills are always low. I love being on the Texas Wholesale Club plan and auto-pay. I've never been able to be on auto-pay because with other companies my bill was so high because of their hidden fees. but with Ambit I love it they don't have hidden fees. I'm close to getting my 15 for free energy. I love this referral program. My friends and family are helping me to get free energy. I'm helping them to get theirs to. Paying good forward feels good. Especially with an integrity based company.

Charged me for something I did not agree to.
I noticed there was a contract renewal on my account that occurred 2 days prior to calling. I called them regarding this as I did not authorize this, yet still wanted to charge me an early termination fee to something I both did not agree to, and had been done 2 days prior to calling.

Desired Outcome

Adjust my bill, so I don't have to do business with you again.

Ambit Energy ("Ambit") received a complaint from the Revdex.com regarding customer ***. In his complaint, Mr. is expressing concern over a product renewal. Please review below:
A review of the account shows that Mr. enrolled for services with Ambit for the service address referenced above under the TSC 12 month term with a fixed rate of 5.42¢ per kWh.
Records show that on 12/22/2018 and 01/07/2019, renewal notice documents were sent to Mr. regarding the current product enrolled in. These documents served as a notification to the customer that his fixed product was about to end on 01/25/2019. The notice also informs the customer of options to complete a product change if desired.
Records show that on 01/29/2019, Mr. online My Ambit Account ("MAA") was accessed and an online product renewal was completed. The customer enrolled in a 12 month term product once more. In addition, a renewal confirmation email was sent to the customer.
On 01/31/2019, the customer contacted Ambit regarding the account status and was informed of the above. In addition, the customer was informed of the applicable early termination fee should the account be cancelled prior to the term expiration.
Ambit received a cancellation request on 02/01/2019 to take effect the same day and services were cancelled. An early termination fee in the amount of $268.57 was applied to the account due to services being cancelled prior to the term expiration.
Ambit regrets the circumstances that led to Mr. complaint. A final review of the account shows
that a product renewal was completed through the customer's online account. Please note, records also
show that the monthly invoice payments have been submitted and processed through the customer's
same online account through which the product renewal was completed, therefore, the product renewal
completed was valid. No adjustment is warranted as the early termination fee is valid. The account is
cancelled with a final balance due in the amount of $277.15.

Bad customer service. This company let someone open a service account with them using my address and someone else's name. No verification needed or anything. I called them and I was put on hold so much in hopes that I would hang up. Finally spoke to a so called manager and asked them to flag the account and asked where and who they sending the bill to. As expected, nobody knows anything. Stay away from this company. I dont even have service with them and I'm saying stay away.

I canceled their service as wasn't cheaper but received post card that would receive a $500 gift card based on points accumulated. I submitted required paperwork on 8/1/18 and didnt receive. I contacted the company and was given the run around. Letter from company 8/1/18

Ambit Energy ("Ambit") received a complaint from the Revdex.com regarding customer ***. In her complaint, Ms. is expressing concern over a refund request. Please review below:
Records show that Ms. was previously enrolled for services with Ambit for the service address referenced above. A notice was sent to Ms. on 12/28/2017, informing her that our Travel Rewards Program would be ending and deadline for redemption of 12/31/2018.
On 01/29/2018, Ms. contacted Ambit and requested to redeem voucher for a $500 Grand Air Certificate applicable towards a qualifying flight. The voucher contained details on how to redeem and the necessary documents to be sent to the travel incentive company Grand Incentives. Please note, travel documents are not sent to Ambit for processing and approval. Nor denial letter will be sent from Ambit as Ambit does not decide approval or denial.
Ms. did not contact Ambit until 01/30/2019 to inquire on the air travel voucher rebate. Ms. was informed that our Travel Reward program had ended. In addition, Ms. was referred to Grand Incentives for assistance with any previous voucher requests.
Ambit regrets the circumstances that led to Ms. complaint. Account shows that Ms. was sent voucher with instructions and requirements for redemption along with contact details for Grand Incentives. The customer is encouraged to contact Grand Incentives for further assistance if needed. I attempted to contact Ms. for further assistance and to inquire on the mentioned letter in the customer's assertions as it was not attached and there was no response. A voicemail was left asking her to please contact me directly for further assistance if needed.

Ambit is the best thing that could have EVER happened to CA! This helps so many people who are struggling with higher bills! I know I have saved thousands of dollars over the last few years I have had Ambit! And it was brought to my attention recently that a lot of my friends/family were paying so much more than I was for their gas. Just reminded me how much I actually love the savings that I forget that I am saving!

Not only has Ambit helped me save money on my power bill... but I also have never had a problem with customer service and support.

I have been on their service for 3+ years without issue. If you pay your bill there are no issues. Also, I get FREE energy because I helped others save money. It's pretty awesome.

I have been a customer for 5+ years now and also getting free electric with their free energy program.

I have had Ambit Energy for 6 years and absolutely love this company! Never had any problems AAA+.

They do not stand true to their agreement. Had nothing but problems with their customer service center. Placed on Hold and bounced around to several people who claim they are a manager but truly;y are not. Spoke to Emmit one of the managers today and he was of no help and would not except Ambits error of not contacting me regarding needing a third party verification process. Pricing is also not as good as others. Going with TownSquare for my service.

Final note is THEY ARE A POORLY MANAGED COMPANY AS I COULD NOT GET TO THEIR OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT WHEN I CALLED THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE< JUST GETTING A VOICEMAIL OPTION WHICH I LEFT DETAILED MESSAGE AND NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK! THIS WAS DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. DO NOT USE OR WAIST YOUR TIME>
