Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:On several occasions, American Medical Response conceded to Cigna's claim that they were under a national contract. All invoices would go away for a few months, then out of nowhere they would start billing me again, and I would have to go through the whole process of calling Cigna, having to explain the full situation to the latest Cigna representative, and then they would call AMR, get everything cleared up again, and then the process would repeat. It is very clear that AMR does not have a good handle on their billing department. This harassment from AMR has caused me to relive the worst day in my life over and over again; the day my 4 month old little girl was barely breathing from pertussis. AMR took my daughter to Rady Children's Medical and checked her in incorrectly as a 4 year old boy! The doctor was in shock when she realized they had given the wrong paperwork. I knew at that time there was something not right about this company, American Medical Response, and had I been of sound mind I would have taken legal action again them at this time.I am not using the work harassment lightly. I expect AMR to honor their contract with Cigna, and leave me alone. My family has been through enough from such a poorly run company.
Sincerely,

I am satisfied with AMR's resolution of my complaint. They have acknowledged that my bill is fully paid. I should not get hassled by [redacted] collection. Most importantly this will not hurt my excellent credit rating, which like most everyone else I value greatly. I am most grateful for the service that the Revdex.com provides.

Florida Avenue, Suite 350 Denver, CO 80210                 RE:      Ambulance Transport                         Revdex.com Case#:  [redacted]     Dear Revdex.com:   Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s additional concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.   Based on the consumer’s rebuttal of the AMR response, an additional review was conducted.  We reconfirm AMR is a non-participating provider with the consumer’s insurance carrier.  AMR previously contacted our direct representative with the consumer’s insurance, who indicated they would reprocess the claim for possible additional payment.  Unfortunately, we have received no payment for the service, and the amount of $676.00 was applied to a deductible.  Therefore, the consumer is responsible for any unpaid balance.  It is suggested the consumer contact the insurance carrier for an appeal process if he feels that a larger portion of this claim should be covered.   Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at (209) 236-8358.   Sincerely,         Cecilia J[redacted] Patient Advocate American Medical Response

I will accept it - however I want you to know that your online security system for billing has serious flaws.  When I input the trip number and my birth date into the security validation it let me in, even though my birthday probably wasn't a match. Further I was also able to enter with the last 4 of my social security number, which again should not match. The fact I could access the billing and medical information of another person using MY information and the trip number is a major security oversight you should correct.

I am rejecting this response because:
AMR did not provide any care; only transport. I understand you replenish supplies used by fire department personnel however that is between you two companies not me. In addition it took 5 months of calls from me to finally get someone to tell me I needed to formally request my medical records to see exactly what the charges were because the bills I received were nondescript with 2 amounts listed but.l no explination of charges or why there were 2 fees; felt as if something was being hidden or covered up.

Business Bureau:   Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.   AMR contacted the consumer by phone and discussed the account.  While part of the care offered during the time of service may have been refused, AMR did provide treatment to the consumer; therefore, the charges invoiced are both valid and correct.  We were unable to obtain a valid mailing address at the time of transport, which resulted in collections activity.  At this time, the account has been cancelled from collections with no negative impact to the consumer’s credit rating.  The consumers address has been updated, and an invoice will be mailed to him.   Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at [redacted].   Sincerely,         [redacted]

[redacted]   Dear Revdex.com:   Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.   American Medical Response transported the consumer for continued care at the request of the attending physician.  Upon arrival to the receiving facility, the consumer and family requested transport to the consumer’s residence due to personal preference.  Since the transport was originally ordered by the initial treating facility, appropriate EMS protocols were followed, and our ambulance crew returned the consumer to the ordering facility.    Our office filed a claim with the consumer’s Medicare coverage for transport to the receiving facility.  A denial was received stating the ambulance service was a non-covered benefit.  Subsequently, we billed the consumer at current Medicare rates instead of full UCR.  On June 3, 2016, our Operations office was contacted and investigated the consumer’s concerns.  After reviewing all of the necessary documentation associated with the transport, it was determined that appropriate care and transportation was provided.  The consumer was notified of the findings, and on July 15, 2016, payment was received satisfying the account.   Upon reexamination, we confirm that the charges are valid, and there is not currently a refund due on this account.   Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at [redacted].   Sincerely,       [redacted] Patient Advocate American Medical Response
