March 16, 2016 Revdex.com of Denver/Boulder 1020 Cherokee St Denver, CO 80204-4039 RE:      Ambulance Transport             Revdex.com Case#: [redacted] Dear Revdex.com: Thank you for taking the time...

to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response values our customers, and strives to provide quality service. American Medical Response submitted several invoices requesting insurance information to the address obtained at the time of service. Although efforts were made to notify the consumer of billing by both mail and phone, the attempts were unsuccessful and resulted in the account defaulting to an outside collection agency. Upon receiving initial contact from the consumer on March 8, 2016, the address was updated accordingly. The consumer also indicated he had provided his insurance information to the collection agency for billing. At this time, we have cancelled the account from collections with no negative impact to the consumer’s credit rating.  A claim has been filed to the consumer’s insurance carrier and the account is on hold to allow time for processing.  Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. Should the consumer have further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at (800) 913-9106 extension 68512. Sincerely, Sylvia Dimperio Patient Advocate American Medical Response

[redacted]              Dear Revdex.com:   Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.   An Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment arrangement was initially established for the remaining balance due after the insurance issued payment.  The consumer’s father later contacted AMR, and requested the arrangement be updated to an in house monthly payment in the amount of $55.86 due on August 30, 2017.  Unfortunately, the first payment was not posted timely, and the account defaulted to collections in error.  At this time, we have cancelled the account from collections with no negative impact to the consumer’s credit rating, and reestablished the payment plan in the amount of $55.86.  We would like to thank the consumer for bringing her concerns to our attention, and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.    Should the consumer have further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at  [redacted]   Sincerely,         [redacted]

I feel like they were not completely honest, and I wouldn't have received a reply from them without your help. Thank you for following up and helping me get this resolved.                         Revdex.com Case#:  [redacted]  Dear Revdex.com: Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.  AMR contacted the consumer by phone and discussed his concerns.  It has been determined that all charges invoiced to the consumer are both valid and correct.  Ambulance provider fees typically include a base charge for the transport, a mileage fee and any applicable ancillary charges.  We understand medical expenses are unexpected, and can cause hardship; therefore, we will mail a Compassionate Care application to the consumer for assistance on the balance due.  Once the application is received and processed, a letter will be mailed to the consumer with regards to the determination.  Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at [redacted]. Sincerely,     [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com:
Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with...

the consumer's concerns. American Medical Response values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.
American Medical Response mailed the consumer the initial invoice on May 5, 2015, requesting insurance information. Other attempts were later made by phone and mail to obtain contact with the consumer but were unsuccessful. The consumer contacted our office on June 15, 2015, and stated no correspondence or contact had been received, and requested a new invoice be mailed. On June 22, 2015, the consumer provided auto insurance information and a claim was filed with the insurance carrier while the account was placed on hold. In time, our office was contacted by the consumer requesting account status and the account was further reviewed by a Supervisor.
At this time, the insurance has confirmed by phone there was no medical coverage on the consumer's auto insurance policy. There [redacted] be correspondence mailed to the consumer outlining this information and requesting additional insurance coverage. The consumer can also be assured there [redacted] be no further attempts at contact by phone.
Should the consumer have further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: American medical Response admitted that they had my correct contact information and referred me to collections in error. I was told as much by two different offices, including corporate. As such, a generic appeal to "we did not have the correct address" is simply a lie.
Sincerely,

February 9, 2016 Revdex.com of Denver/Boulder 1020 Cherokee St Denver, CO 80204-4039 RE:         Ambulance Transport                 Revdex.com Case#: [redacted] Dear Better...

Business Bureau: Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response values our customers, and strives to provide quality service. American Medical Response has reviewed the consumer’s dispute and although the consumer was not transported, the paramedics are committed to the patient until treatment is rendered and the patient is released.  Because of the rigid time constraints we are under, the system is very expensive to maintain. Therefore, patients pay for the quality response or supplies used, not necessarily the transport itself.  While part of the care offered during the time of service may have been refused, AMR did provide treatment to the consumer. A compassionate care application was extended to the consumer as hardship was expressed. Upon receipt of the application, along with the documents provided by the consumer, the application was denied as the income exceeded the allowed amount based on the Federal poverty levels. An adjustment was applied to the consumer’s account in the amount of $516.05 and she was offered payment arrangements to keep the account in good standings. Unfortunately, the consumer did not contact our office to establish payment arrangement which was the result of the account defaulting to collections.  At this time, the consumer is responsible for the balance due. Should the consumer have further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at (209) 236-8470. Sincerely, Blanca Mendoza Patient Advocate American Medical Response Tell us why here...

Revdex.com Case#:  [redacted]  Dear Revdex.com: Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers, and strives to provide quality service. AMR initially mailed the consumer an invoice on August 21, 2017.  The consumer subsequently issued payment in full via our online payment website.  On September 29, 2017, the consumer contacted the call center, and provided her insurance information for billing.  Upon receiving the insurance information, a claim was filed with the carrier the following day. The insurance payment of $791.54 posted to the account, and a refund was issued to the consumer’s credit card on October 20, 2017.  At this time, the account remains closed.  Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at (209) 236-8638. Sincerely,     Danielle F[redacted] Patient AdvocateAmerican Medical Response

time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns.  American Medical Response values our customers, and strives to provide quality service.American Medical Response filed a claim with the consumer’s insurance carrier for the total charges due of $2,235.97.  Notification from the insurance carrier indicated the allowable amounts were applied to the consumer’s deductible, leaving the consumer responsible for the total charges due.  Several notices were mailed to the consumer; however, no further contact was received and the account defaulted to collections on December 24, 2015.  The following month, our office received contact from the insurance carrier informing the claim would be reprocessed. The insurance payment was received in the amount of $857.00 on January 26, 2016.  We then received contact from the consumer who was advised that AMR is a non-participating provider with the insurance carrier; therefore, the claim was paid based on the carrier’s non-contracted benefit rate structure.  At this time, we have contacted the insurance carrier and confirmed an additional payment of $517.65 was paid directly to the consumer.  As a courtesy, we have cancelled the consumer’s account from collections with no credit reporting occurring.  We are able to assist with the consumer with several payment arrangements on their responsible portion, once the additional insurance payment is received. Should the consumer have further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at [redacted].Sincerely,Sylvia DimperioPatient AdvocateAmerican Medical Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12509620, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I will try to avoid this ambulance service in the future with their awful overseas customer service!  Even their collection agents are in a foreign Country -- it is impossible to deal with these people!  I will not renew my Emergi-Care plan since it was useless.  I will try to recoup my expenses through Humana since this service was set-up by their own Representative and was medically necessary as approved by my mother's doctor.Sincerely,Wayne [redacted]
