On December 30, 2014, the year old furnace at the home of my son in Grayslake, IL ceased to operate properlyThe repairman from ABC Plumbing Heating Cooling Electric came out that day to trouble shoot the unitWe accepted the quote that day and the unit was kept limping until the next day and that took the family of five through cold weather
The new unit was installed and connected the next day
My son and his wife were most pleasedThe servicemen were neat and personableThey placed floor coverings throughout the work path and cleaned up upon completionThey found the work professional, the result excellent, and the cost reasonableThe and I highly recommend the company for future work
We were very pleased with the service from Mike G with ABC Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric We needed a new hot water heater and Mike came in, surveyed the situation, gave us an estimate, and got to work He was professional, personable and very attentive to the job at hand He left the area clean and was careful not to get dirt or water on any other surfaces I would definitely use this company again I told him I would recommend him and the company to a friend needing a water heater as well
Tim Lcame out to look out our furnace He was very professional and courteous He quickly found sediment in the drain and cleared it out He also looked at the rest of the furnace and gave a few suggestions on how we can keep it running well He took the time to answer all my questions and was very helpful

I requested a plumber yesterday to fix two separate issues with two relatively new toilets (working, but leaking)The appointment was set up efficiently for the following day (today)
The plumber arrived as arrangedIt took about minutes to explain the issues, after which he disappeared to his truck for another minutes to write up a quoteThe quote varied between over $(repair) to over $(replacement of all toilets)The representative was too busy trying to sell me a service agreement instead of trying to fix my problem
I explained that this was too expensive, but the plumber from ABC plumbing just wanted his fee for $
I have already bought a replacement flange at Home Depot for less than $I am about to fix the other toilet also
If I call a plumber, its because I want a problem fixed!

Way overpricedI needed my sewer rodded and they charged be nearly times what have previously payed for the same jobI also contacted their customer service and they said they would respond within day and I still havent heard from them nearly weeks laterWill never recommend them or call them again

I was SHOCKED!, its times the cost of the machine
My other plumber over the phone had earlier said it might be anywhere from $250-
The work included basically to run the pipes(about feet all together) in and out of the Water Softner and a work of "couple hours" at the most
I just couldn't comprehend how would it be $for installation?I wanted to have it installed and I'm an uneducated about the plumbing work (which ABC Plumber obviously had noticed)
I said, isn't the estimate times the cost of the machine itself?Then he said, his usual trained words like, we guarantee and back up the work for an year and provide a superioe service (ofcourse it was unbelievably superior estimate)
I said, let's do it for $He said, he couldn't do it and have to get the permission from his superviors and allIt was a clear bt!
After noticing that I might retrieve, he said "okay, let's do it for $1000"So, I foolishly paid $and had it done, in couple hours or less
After months of using the Water Softner, the water still wasn't softnedI tried every setting & instructions given in the manual to troubleshoot it, but no goodThen called GE y'day, who has sent me a technician (who's also a plumber)He said Venturi Valut was plugged up and the issue is resolved nowABC Plumber's superior service didn't take care of that!!!!I casually asked GE sent plumber, how much would you charge for installing a Water Softner here?He looked at the work done and said, it would be $I told him, I got an estimate for $and had it done for $He only said one word, "JEEZ"

I can certainly expect an ethic from anyone but not from this company's drug screened plumbers!!!
This is my second experience with ABC Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric I learned of the company through Brett P We are new to the community and we met Brett while he was walking his dogs through our local park He told us what he did for a living and was proud to say that he worked for ABC and informed us about all of the services they provide We purchased a "fixer upper" and having a one-stop-shop for all of our mechanical needs was appealing Brett was sent to us at our request to inspect our boiler system He was extremely knowledgeable and was happy to educate us on our system Prompt, Friendly, Courteous and Knowledgeable!!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience

In June of this year, I called ABC to complete some electric work Our home was damaged due to a neighbors tree falling on our house We lost power and needed some emergency help ABC gave me a quote that I later learned was about $2,over the industry average Also, the techs were suppose to put a temporary pole on my home so that I could receive power again from *** ** This pole was not attached until the next day; after I complained to a rep at ABC So many things to share about their work and all the things that went wrong but too much to type Here are some highlights: First, I learned that all technicians working with ABC are not all licensed electricians In fact, in the state of IL, only one person working in the company has to be licensed Really wish I would have done my homework on this subject but too late now Also, the tech quoted me work that would be completed that was never doneSecond, the tech did not clean up and left garbage in my backyard My dogs were chewing on sharp pieces of plastic and screws and other pieces that were scattered all over the backyard Next, when the tech was in my home working near the panel in my basement, he cut the *** wire I later had to call *** and it took the *** employee about hours before he identified the problem Additionally, the tech from ABC was suppose to get a permit from our town and he did not Lastly, all the work was not done correctly Please BEWARE of this company Several years earlier, I had issues with an installation of a furnace They didn't show up when they said, the furnace was not installed correctly and part of my basement ended up flooding I had recently installed new carpet and there are still two huge patches of my carpet that are stained I never received anything from ABC due to this The tech who came to fix the problem told me that the other tech installed the pipes incorrectly More issues with that too, but too long to write I never should have called them about my electrical issue and now I am really paying the price Please BEWARE of this company They have high prices and their work is below average
