We're been a business customer of Heller's for a whilehowever this year they filled the tank twice in a one month without our permission; then sent us a billthen when we questioned itthey got mean and apprehensive and then without notice they took the tank, the fuel and then still expected us to pay for itwhen we said no; they sent the request to court(the kicker to this is when they took the tank; they also took our line and regulator...) I used to like Heller'sthey were good to deal with, they were understanding, compassionate and worked with their customersbut lately; they're changed and have lost focus of what made them successfulIt's a shame; as they were the best out therebut these days I would say avoid them at all costsSadly; I'd rather be cold all winter then have to deal with them ever againThey do not do business correctly and take advantage of their customers (especially those in need of emergency fuel in the middle of winter

I bought a foreclosed house on 02July2014, in the contract(from the selling mortgage company) and house sale paperwork it shows that I purchased everything on the propertyFast forward to January of and I come home to a note on the door and a stolen regulator, the note stating to call them if I would like service restoredIt was January and I had a small child and no heat at this point I contacted Jason J [redacted] who was at the Carlisle Pa locationHe was rude and strong armed me into paying 300, for a fill that I never received, that night to have my service restored, also even though I have documents to show that I had purchased the property and all the contents, they removed the tanks after they tried to charge me dollars for the tanksI had requested multiple times for the paperwork for a fill that they insisted they performed but could not find any paperwork on the deliveryThey disconnected my service without ever contacting myself first, and when asked I was told

I kept this company when I bought the house and apparently it was set up as automatic refillAfter they filled it the first time and I paid for it I asked that they take me off of automatic refillThis past January I had my house on the market for sale and was not currently living in the home and they came out and filled my tank in the springI called and told them that I am not even living at the home and they did not contact me to fill itThey told me there was nothing they could do because it was on automatic fillI wasn't going to pay for it but then they charged me a late fee so I just paid for itSo I figured whatever now the new owners will have a full tankI contacted Heller's a week before closing and gave them the new sellers informationI had also contacted them prior to this and gave them the sellers information but they never called them so I gave it to them again Not even a week after closing and it was the sellers first weekend in the house and they woke up

On or about 2/6/I received a propane delivery from Heller's Gas(My wife has the bill at home so I don't have the exact date but I can provide that if needed) days later I noticed that there was a large davit in my driveway where a vehicle had bottomed outThere were only vehicles that had visited us in those days and was [redacted] and the other was Heller's GasI called both and asked if they could talk to their drivers and get back to me [redacted] opened an internal investigation and it was proven that they had a regular van that came to our house and there would have been no reason for the van to need to use my turn around (paved hill) and additionally, regular cars or vans will not bottom out in my turn aroundI called Troy Z [redacted] of Heller's Gas and he told me that he would talk to the driver and ask her if she recalled bottoming out in my drivewayBased on the damage, it would be impossible for someone to not hear the impact/scrapingI waited and waited and waitedI tex

I’ve been a customer with Heller Gas since 2015, when my wife and I bought our houseWe bought this little fixer-upper farm house on the side of a mountain in central PA not realizing all the challenges that would be coming our wayThe winters can be absolutely miserable on the mountain with the steep incline of the road, heavy snowfalls as compared to the valley below, and blistering windsIn the spring and fall rain washes out the road and temporarily turns our driveway into a small river No matter what the situation was, every single time I picked up the phone for a refill on our propane the customer rep from Heller would always tell me they were on their way and when I could expect themTheir drivers are incredibly nice and must have at least a taste for a touch of dangerI once saw our delivery driver (driver number 1455) pull just past our driveway, slip the clutch (or possibly just popped it into neutral) and back right in with one fluid motion in the middle of a snow storm, around a blind curve, on a road that is 50mph, and did I mention this is on the side of a mountain? If I’m home, whichever driver is delivering to me for that fill will typically keep me entertained with some story about the area or a delivery they were on some time agoThey are always polite and professional, just good folk ya know? I've even spoke to the VP of the company who was a humble fella was kind and understanding, even when I called to terminate my service With everything you’ve read you're probably thinking this is an awesome company with great people on in every feasible position, who in their right mind would cancel this service? The answer is simple, I didThe little lady and I have been thinking more and more about having a little bundle of joy of our very ownWith the fixer-upper draining a good amount of what I make and the potential upcoming cost of a pregnant wife, I started asking around how some people at work were saving money in this economyI received a number of good ideas, but nothing I hadn’t heard before or anything I wasn’t already doingThis guy that is more of a friend of a friend told me about this company called Thrifty Propane out of OhioHe said their prices were to die forI wasn’t considering replacing Heller since I had gotten such great service in the past but I did decide I would look into it The next day I pulled up the Thrifty Propane website and was absolutely baffled that they run a special where you can per buy insanely cheap propane and if you buy in bulk they will give you a free tankI talked it over with the wife and I decided to give Thrifty a callThis is where I made an incredibly costly mistakeWhen I called I spoke to a somewhat belligerent older man named BradHe was pushy, told me the size tank I wanted (500gal with a pre buy of gallons of propane) wasn’t available and he thought I would be more than fine with a smaller tank with a slightly smaller pre buy amountWe have a discussion about the delivery fee for the tankI told him it was free according to the website and he insisted that it was a service paid for by the customer and if I'm right the computer will take the charge off at the endSo Brad starts rambling though all these fees and charges, this and thatHe gives me a price for everything which all has to be paid for in advanceI pay him and he says the tank will be to me in weeks I called Heller the next day and spoke to a young man named RyanI told him the situation and that I was leaving as a customerHe seemed genuinely sad to hear that I had gone with another company but said not to worry and that they can come pick up my tanks whenever Thrifty gets around to dropping my new tank offRyan also tells me that I would be getting a call from their corporate office in the next couple of days about why I decided to leave and if there was anything that caused me to leaveI told Ryan right then and there that I had nothing but good things to say about Heller and that it was simply a matter of moneyAbout a day passed and sure enough I received a call from Heller’s corporate officeIt was the VP of the companyI was pretty surprise that he was taking the time out of his day to call a random customer that he had never met or had any dealings withWe talked for a while and I did my best to make sure that he understood that this was just an economical move and that I didn’t have a single negative thing about the companyHe was very understanding and wished me well About a week after I placed my order, I get my first letter from ThriftyI figured it was a welcome letter and maybe a mission statement from the companyI was wrongIt was a photocopied piece of paper saying that tanks are on backorder and that they are not able to schedule an installation date at this timeI’m not super happy about this so I call Brad backBrad confirms that the tanks are back ordered and that I shouldn’t even call back for weeksHe wasn’t polite or even apologetic for misleading meLater in the week I get my second letter from ThriftyIt is the breakdown of all the fees and services I have paid for along with the pre buy policyEven though the delivery of my tank was supposed to be free I saw that I was charged $for tank deliveryI decided to email Brad inquiring about the delivery charge and to supply him with screenshots from the website the day I orderedThe website clearly said the delivery, installation and regulators were freeBrad insists that he can't open the screenshot the first several times I send it to himSo I break the photo down into smaller parts and try to send it one last timeI start getting this feeling that all these emails are a stall tactic It was a while before I heard back from Brad after breaking the photo down so I figured he was finally able to figure out how to open the images and was handling the situationI was once again wrongI eventually received an email back from Brad stating that there wasn’t a timestamp on the photo and that he didn’t feel that it was sufficientI composed myself and wrote Brad back in a kind yet firm tone what we had agreed uponBrad pulled the recording from our phone conversation where we had discussed the delivery fee and said I didn’t disagree with him strong enough at the time of purchase and I should have known betterWe went back and forth several more times that day and it was a nightmare Fast forward now to weeks since I bought my propane and tank from ThriftyI call the 1-customer service number and go through the prompts to select schedule deliveryThe delivery department was busy so I left a message explaining my situation and that I would like a call backA few days later I received a call back from a sweet young lady named AiryanShe proceeds to tell me that they still don’t have any tanks in, and they aren’t sure when they will be able to schedule me for a deliveryThis was the last straw for meI politely told Airyan that I would like to cancel my order and asked her how to go about getting a refundAiryan’s whole demeanor instantly changedShe became extremely combative and wouldn’t let me get a single word in edgewise and sharply got off the phoneMy heart instantly sank when I heard the phone clickThrifty had sold me a bait and switch tank, overcharged me for my tank, had no intention of delivering by my initial quote date, and we now going to make it as hard as possible for me to get my money backThere is no worse feeling than the one you get when you feel you won’t be able to provide basic essentials for your family and having been swindled out of your hard earned money After I had a moment to gather my thoughts, I called Heller Gas’ customer service praying that I could maybe work out a deal with them to stay on as a customerRyan (who is now my hands down favorite customer service rep) picked up my callHe was already familiar with the previous situation and that I had planned to leaveI filled him in on the last few weeks and what a fool I felt like and asked if there was anything we could doRyan said he would look into it and have to get back to me with a decision from their corporate officeHe must have picked up on the fact that I was very down because he spent quite a while just shooting the breeze and making some jokes here and thereI do have to say I felt a little better when I got off the phone, but I was still unsure of what I could do to further resolve any of these issue that I had made for myselfLater that day Ryan called me back to say that corporate had agreed to keep me on as a customer and after hearing my story and how I was conned that they would drop and extra tank off at my house and gave me a far better price than what I deserved of the propaneI can’t even tell you how grateful I was in that moment I made a massive mistake and let a few dollars blind me to the fact that these online, too good to be true companies, are nothing but con-artists looking to get you on the hook and never deliverHeller really pulled though for me and I am beyond grateful to themIf you need a solid gas company that is true to their word, go with HellerThe have great service and even better peopleRyan Thank you again from the mountain, -R

Heller’s advises us that we did not need two gallon tanks of propane based on our usageThey came to our residence and removed a tank that was 75% fullWe were told that we would be refunded for this amount because we had already paid for itRefund never occurredThis incident was a year ago We have complained many times to be removed from auto refill and would like them to refill only when we ask them to do soThey continue to come and fill tank, even though we never asked them to do so At this point, they filled the current remaining tank, which was not authorized or needed Now, they want us to pay for that unauthorized deliveryThey are the ones that owe us money from the tank they removed We are constantly being called and harassed to pay a bill that we do not owe them

First let me introduce myselfMy name is [redacted] I am a 100% disabled vet from the U.S.***I have never been treated with such disrespect and my wife being so mistreated by Jason in customer service Theresa in customer service Chris the V P of hellers gasThis started when we purchased our new home in Hanover and there tank was already hereThey said they would fill it for dollars The bill was Theresa said it was taxes and fees that added to the priceNext Theresa stated that they would monitor our tank and it would be filled at %Lie number two it turns out nothin on tank to send that info back to companyTold Chris the VP this he didn't seem to care at allNextJason told my wife that the contract was canceled and they would be out next week to pick up tankTwo weeks later the empty gallon tank is still here and that is when it is most dangerous because if that tanks falls over and ruptures it will explode I have a degree in petroleum

We have used Heller's Gas since November 2015. We wish we did more research since they have many complaints about their service. On 10/28/2015 their tech arrived test the gas line. He alleged we had a leak in the copper tubing. They did not finish set up of the service. We paid $350.74 as they charged to fill the tanks. That day they did not fill the tanks. The next day we called for them to pick up their tanks as we were going with another service. Jason J [redacted] stated he could not refund the money as they do not refund for unused gas but was not filled until 10/30/2015. Another tech returned to "replace" 25 feet of copper tubing. We will discuss later on as we are keeping this in chronological order. During the next 2 months we complained an odor of propane by the front door. Finally on 1/26/2016 a tech arrived as Ralph stated he would not charge for the check. The tech alleges their is not leak, but ironically he notice low pressure. That should have been enough to investigate more

I am customer with Heller’s Gas with probably for one year, I had a bad experience with them a month agoMy first order was in September that time they didn’t inform me that they will filled up tank every year no matter what if you schedule or not, which is improperI use gas only for cooking and I don’t cook much everyday also I’ve two big tank of propane at my homeThey filled out tank in September with out letting me know and hang billing statement $on the doorWhen I called them to ask about that bill, they said they filled the tank and that is their business policyBut my concern is you have to let your customers know before you do anything in their propertyI asked them to show me how much they fill? and if they filled or not because I was not at home and my mom didn’t see anyone was in our propertyManager at [redacted] he didn’t reply me proper way so I called customer service and they transfer me to their Vice President, I explain him everything and he sc

This company is horrible, they rip customers off every chance they getI wish the park manager would have told me to stay away from them like she told my neighborThey over charged me for years and when I ended service with them they took a tank of propane off my property that had more gas in it than the gallons then they delivered after I caught them cheating me and told them I was done with themThe last bill was for $they said they only got gallons back which is a lie because I only use gallons every months and when they fill the tank on 8/I had gallons in it that I already paid for and I got taken to court for $plus court costs so I have to pay them bucks for $of gas they claim I used Stay away from Heller's gas they are s [redacted] b [redacted] crooks!

We had come to a deal that was made with Heller's verified through email for a payoff on our account The was no contingency on this deal We closed our account and now they are trying to renege on the deal and charge us the full amount even after agreeing we were over charged

spring of 2017,heller gas filled propane tanks where I was renting,*** *** *** *** gettysburg pa 17325,bill came out to $298,I paid or 165,I got help from local churches for the balance,I notified heeler gas that I would be moved out of the service address by 10/31/17,I told them I wanted a refund on the balance of gas not used,I did not turn the heat on since before the tanks were filled in the spring, heller gas told that on 11/02/that they would go and read the tanks and lock them,I called on 11/27/and inquired as to what was going on,heller gas told the tanks were 70% full when they rent to read them, even though the heat was not turned on,heller gas told me that refund money would be sent back to the churches,so iam out $160-$for propane I didnt use,it seems like everyone you talk to at hellers gas has a different story as to whats going on,id like the Revdex.com to look at this to see if iam owed money back

I am disputing a refund I was to receive that was not in the full amount from Heller's Gas as agreed I signed up for Hellers Gas with of their gallon propane tanks They were installed with minimal gas on June 18th, 2013, and a separate truck was to come fill the tanksBefore the tanks were filled, we decided to not proceed with the install I called the salesperson, to cancel the delivery and we were going to sell the home/buyers remorse We were going to recommend the company to the new owners as a good business gesture for dropping off the tanks or pick them up as they were not even filled yet The salesperson reported this to her supervisor,Troy, that we did not want the tanks filled and either to pick up the tanks or leave them there to gain the sale of the new owner He called me that same day and wanted me to still fill the tanks and if the new owner would keep them, I would be credited and the new owner would be billed Ultimately, the new owners kept the tanks

We got a new service set up with hellers gas with two propane bottles, less than months they came by our residents and filled up our tanks from what we used in the past months, about $40, I forget exactly how much but when I set this account up I told them I only cook with the gas and use another source to heat the house, I told them do not come by until I call, so they came by and put a little bit of gas in and added on all there charges which almost equals the same amount in gas they put in, I called them and told them this but they didn't want to hear anything, there answer wss, you got the gas, you have to pay, I told them I world pay when I got around to it, now when I wasn't home they came and took off my regulators from the bottles and I can't use any gas, no warning letter that they were gonna do this, where I live a lot of people had hellers connected then disconnected

We are a fairly new customer with Hellers Gas and our experience has been a nightmareWe called in October for them to come out and service our gas fireplaceOur pilot light would not stay lit so they sent a sub contractor to come out and check it outHe told us we needed a part and it would have to be ordered they would get back to usCharge was about $dollarsWe paid then waited weeks and called to see where things stoodPart was missed on the shipment so would be another weekCalled after a week and was told the part was at the corporate officeFinally they call to say the part was in and then send a service man out to install the partService man comes out installs the part charged us $that we paidTen minutes after the technician leaves the pilot light goes out againI call Hellers back and they refer me back to the number for the sub contractor which would have been another chargeI called the number for customer service back and by this time I have had it with Hellers GasI told the service rep I stopped payment on the check for the service call and I wanted to speak to a supervisorShe told me there would be a $charge for the stop payment on the checkI don't believe these peopleFinally they send a service man out and he finally gets the fireplace working after about an hourI then have a heated conversation with a supervisor who proceeds to tell me in a rather nasty tone they did nothing wrong and I had to pay the extra fifty bucksI told him to send the bill and that I was not paying the extraGet the bill my husband takes another check out to themToday a Hellers truck pulls up out front and says he is here to pick up a $check or they were disconnecting the gas tankI told them to pull it outThis is the worst company I have ever had to deal withThey are arrogant rude and I should have read all these reviews before getting hooked up with themI would not recommend this company to my worst enemy

I got propane about weeks agoI haven’t put my propane on till toda and it’s already down to I knew something was wrong so I went outside to check it and the place where they put the propane the cap was open not even closed! I’m not happy that I lost that amount when I didn’t use it!

Hello folks My name is Joe and I am very upset at the moment because after years of faithful service on our part we were told we owed some debt that we clearly didn't owe and it took times and a lot of aggravation to, I hope?.have a final solution?..You see back in February we were charged $a gallon ($459.25) for home heating propane when in fact we had an agreed upon price of $per gallon so I called and spoke with Jason after being stressed all weekend that it was a drivers error and will be taken care of and the new total would be $311.03..much better we think and paid the bill like always..well another two months and I call for gallons to hold us over and was asked "do you want our driver to pick up the balance you owe ?$so I say from what and he states the deal from February again so I go on to explain it again now to this man and finally after minutes he says Oh! I see they forgot to fix this credit here 'll take care of it..O.K....Alright last night I go to mail box to find a bill from Heller's Gas in the amount of $because now there is a late fee attached to it..so I call ask for a supervisor but end up the entire time speaking and put on hold with Amanda who was personable and friendly in spite of me being quite angry and letting her know that this is the 4th time trying to correct this and that they probably lost me as a customer and tha I was willing to fight this I also stated I did not want this to reflect on my credit history...so after back and forth on hold she finally stated she had found their error with the credit that was supposed to be done in February and would make sure it was taken care of..I asked her to send some sort of receipt for this conversation and credit ..which she said she would send so I guess that part is done..I HOPE..one other thing is all last season we had to call a few times because they were coming every three weeks instead of agreed upon weeks and because of this we were charged a service fee each time so Like 3-extra $fees that finally I had to call and tell them not to bring gas unless I called for it?....be careful people where ever you go ..they are human andwill..make mistakes..but getting them to admit and accept is a whole other ball game...GOOD LUCK...JOE

At the beginning of April I contacted the local office to discontinue service and request a refund of two full tanks as we were moving out of stateOn 4/17/my wife called to check the status of then refund and was told they would need to speak with our landlord to make sure she approvedWhen my wife communicated with our landlord she said she had already spoken with Heller Gas telling them that the tenant is responsible for the utilities and she did not have anything to due with our service When my wife called the local office back they continued to argue with her about needing to speak with the landlordMy wife advised them again of what the landlord had told her Before the call ended the manager told my wife that they would read the tanks the following week as they had already been to State College for the week we were calling After almost two weeks from our 2nd call my wife was given the run around yet again She kept calling and was told she would need to speak wi
