addressed properly, and will continue to move forward as our client

Our Customer Service team was able to successfully address and resolve Mr*** concerns regarding his accountMr*** was also refundedWe would like to thank Mr*** for his cooperation in the resolution of this complaintThank you

Per Ms*** request, we are awaiting confirmation from her loan servicer showing that her loan payments have been considered qualified payments for Public Service Loan Forgiveness before Ms*** can consider this matter resolvedDepending on the complexity of the audit and Fedloan's backlog,
this process may take a few weeksWhile we were able to successfully consolidate her loans and successfully assist in her enrollment into an income-based repayment plan while she was our client, we do not have the ability to expedite a servicer-level audit for Public Service Loan Forgiveness qualificationsIn the meantime, we have cancelled her file, also by her requestThank you

I entered an agreement with this company for student loan forgiveness, I would pay them 200$ a month the first year, and 100$ a month for 9 years after that and my loans would be forgiven since I'm a nurse and it is a community service. I received a letter in October stating " My student loans are in default and they have been turned over to a collection agency for re-payment. I have 9,198.70 $ worth of fees and cost. I just started a recovery program of paying $224. 00 a month for 10 months. Then they will be back in good standing. I paid the company 2400$ the first year and $1200.00 in 2016, 2017, and most of 2018 until I was notified by the collection agency. Which at that time I left my Name and number for Ameritech to return my call, in which a staff member stated " Someone will be returning your call" . Since that date of Monday Dec. 3rd 2018 no one has called from this company and I am unable to reach them from Multiple locations, time, and phones.

Worst company ever! All of their paper work look official and their phone assistance seems legit...IT IS NOT! I have been paying them $116.00 per month for over 2 years to find out that none of my student loans are being paid. I received a letter I believe from the Dept. of Ed basically saying this loan servicing company is a scam. When I called Ameritech, they tried to keep me on the line, saying that they are paying my loans etc...I looked at my loans, not only are they not paying them, I have accrued thousands of dollars of interest! If I could give them 0 stars or less I would. If you are with them...I strongly advise you to look at your loan balance and don't be surprised when it hasn't changed. I signed up for a class action law suit and I hope they pay through the nose!

Ameritech Financial refuses to refund over $3,800 of money it scammed of me under false pretenses. The offered services and encouraged me to falsify information to receive a better rate. Their representatives use scripts and sales tactics to move their marks toward signing documents and getting access to their bank accounts. Currently being sued by the Federal Trade Commission for these practices. I have requested a refund of my money which they refuse, and deny any wrong doing.

Do not trust Ameritech Financial. I originally called them in December 2016 for help getting my student loans consolidated. To my knowledge, they did do this. They also told me I qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) , so I filled the paperwork out for that as well, thinking they would submit that on my behalf. Recently, I contacted my loan servicer and they told me that I'm on a repayment plan that offers forgiveness after 300 payments (25 years), which is not PSLF. With the amount each payment was, I'd be paying double if not more for my student loans. Because of this, I called Ameritech to cancel my "membership." This salesman kept me on the phone for forty minutes trying to scare and intimidate me into continuing with them and continued to tell me they did submit the PSLF paperwork on my behalf. Also, the fee that you pay them does NOT go towards your student loans. You need to send your payments to your loan servicer directly. They will use fear and manipulation to try to make you continue using their services. I recommend staying away.

I wish there was a 'no star' choice for this review. My story is similar to everyone who has posted. I paid $173/mo. for around 7 months, thought it was going toward my loan, it wasn't, they said it was for paperwork. They also recommended that I quit paying my student loan, since this program would 'kick in'. Took 7 months and I ended up having to pay back pay and almost having my wages garnished! I said Ameritech, "YOU'RE FIRED!"
I did receive, in the mail, that the FTC is currently suing Ameritech. DO NOT sign up with this company. My student loan company helped me with the Government Loan Forgiveness Plan this year, and yours will too.

I am in the same boat. I received the paperwork stating that there were a lawsuit. I contacted the company and they told me that someone would get back to me. It was at least a couple of weeks before hearing back which was through an email. I contacted them and they told me that the $99 they were taking out of my account each month went toward benefits that I was receiving and their paperwork. They told me that it would be another application in order for them to be able to take money out of my account toward my loan. The man told me that I had not submitted my paperwork this year, which was untrue. I asked him if I did not submit my paperwork this year, what is the reason that they were not taking the money out to go to my loan the year prior. I have been paying on this at least a year and a half or more. If I was not submitting my paperwork, why did they not stop payment. They continued to take money from our bank account.

I just need to know if I will get my money back?? I was told my payments were going to be reduced for my student loans. I was paying $215.00 a month for 8 months and stopped because I was getting calls and emails from a collection company. I checked my credit report nothing was being paid to my student loan balance, I was really confused. I called ameritech and asked if they could explain to me what was going on. My only issue is, as of today, if I was making this payments every months (the account was current), why did a collection company have access to this information. I shouldn't have gotten any phone calls from a collection place.
I see ameritech only replied to the positive reviews, please reply to the negative ones.

I was given the wrong information by Ameritech Financial. They said that my monthly payments to their loan forgiveness plan that they said would make it cheaper instead of what I would be paying for Great Lakes would be going to the loan. Plus they said now that they had the loan forgiveness plan with me that I would be paying less and not paying interest and if I went back to school and got a second degree and a better paying job with the government or state that my forgiveness would be even lower. None of my payments went to my loan and I found out the fee they charged me in the beginning to sign up was not even a fee I would have gotten with Great Lakes if I did the forgiveness plan with them instead. Where was my money going to if it wasn’t for my loans?

Our customer service team contacted *** and attempted to explain company policies and procedures, as well as work performed on the account. *** handed the phone to an unnamed person, which resulted in our customer service rep being unable to continue providing details regarding ***'s account due to privacy concerns. This person demanded information we were unable to disclose, and as a result, we were unable to resolve the issue on the call. Due to the nature of the call, we encourage *** to contact us to resolve this issue. Thank you

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: The situation was not resolved. She did not do what she could to make the circumstance with Ameritech better for me. She said that the fee’s were going towards their company for what? I thought they were going towards my loans that but instead they were going towards their company in which I found out from Great Lakes that is free to do the forgiveness plan? Just a little confused about where my money actually went to if it was free with my loan company.Sincerely

I signed up with Ameritech Financial February of 2017, to assist with making payments towards my students loans and assisting with completing paperwork to enroll in Public Servant Forgiveness Program. I was informed there was an initial 800.00 dollar enrollment fee. I paid all required payments and was told my monthly 108.00$ payment goes towards my students loans. I received a letter from the FTC stating the company has misrepresented themselves and do not make payment to my student loan processor. I have contacted Ameritech and they have explained they bill me 108.00 monthly for their services and my student loan payments amount has been 0.00 since 2015. I have requested a refund from Ameritech due to the fraudulent charges. The FTC has stated these services are free and Ameritech have been misleading students.

Ms. contacted our Customer Service team after receiving a letter regarding ongoing litigation. Our Customer Service department explained the agreed upon contracted work performed on Ms. account, including an approved income-based repayment plan application that resulted in a $0/month monthly payment, as well as a subsequent application for year 2, which also resulted in a $0/month monthly payment. Our Customer Service team also discussed the client's potential eligibility for PSLF while in this repayment program, since Ms. works for a 501(c)(3) employer. Per her request, we have cancelled her account.

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:The company completely mislead myself and thousands of others as I was given a monthly bill and told it is my income-driven student loan payment. I paid a monthly fee for over a year believing the payment was going towards my student loans. I was never informed I owed zero dollars per month. The company only revealed the monthly payment is going directly to their company as a fee. I was also informed that I was enrolled in a the public servant forgiveness plan. I submitted all "needed" paperwork however the company just informed me that they never enrolled me and have no intention of doing so. They continued to state that their only purpose was to ensure I "qualify" but not enroll. AGAIN! misleading. Why would I willingly pay a monthly fee for literally NOTHING!Sincerely

In my initial call with Ameritech I talked to a couple of people, moving back and forth between them. If you say no, you don’t understand something you get transferred so it can get explained then transferred back till you say no to another question then moved back again. This is a great way to cause confusion and get people that don’t like talking on the phone or get anxious by talking on the phone, which I do, want to get off the phone and cling to what little they do understand. They tell me now that transferring between people is to help people understand things, but it doesn’t. I was under the impression that what I was paying them for a year now was going to my student loan repayment. I got a letter from the FTC telling me that it wasn’t. Ameritech says all this time I should have been paying them AND Naviant each month. So they want to charge me each month for having gotten me a lower student loan payment. I am living paycheck to paycheck, so why would I want to add a payment? It is ridiculous and they have said that unless the FTC wins then I am out the $1,977 I have paid this past year. It basically feels like I waste to have gone to school and be dealing with the debt all this time.

Our Customer Service department spoke with *** on 7/11/18 to cancel her account. We explained the work performed on her account, including a successful consolidation application in May of 2017 and an acceptance of the income-based repayment application in June of 2017. Our Customer Service department also attempted to call *** and left multiple voicemails over a period of two months to update her on the status of her account between April and May of 2018 but never received a response back. The company has performed all contractually-obligated document preparation services as well as made good-faith attempts to contact *** in order to keep her account on track and on schedule. Per her request, her account has been cancelled. Thank you.

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I got emails that they had wanted to update my income. This has nothing to do with what the FTC revealed and helped me to understand that none of the money I had paid went to my student loan. It should go to it.Sincerely

Do not go with ameritech financial. They are a scam. They have been taking my money for over 2 years and have not put 1 penny towards my student loans. When I called today to cancel my account, the man laughed and said I will never see 1 dime back... He said my money was for "paperwork" scam artist and I can not wait until the federal trade commission shuts them down..

When I initially started with Ameritch the lady that set my contract up told me the money I pay monthly would go towards my school loans. She also stated that by that following month I would see it on my credit report. After two payments I did not see any results on my credit report and I called Ameritech. They then basically told me that my loans were now in collections, that they weren't when we started but now they are, and that it was nothing they could do about it but refer me to a collection agency they were with. I then spoke to the man they pushed me to and his plan was for me to pay $5 dollars for 9months (while still paying Ameritech $132 a month) and then I would be okay and Ameritech could finish working with me. I didn't understand why I had to still pay Ameritech money if they couldn't help me anymore. I ended up doing my research and found a student loan forgiveness company that actually is about helping people with student loans and they are also accredited by the Revdex.com. Ameritech was also wrong about my loans being in collections, and even better the people I work with now actually helps me with my loans and my credit score is going up in result of me paying them for their help. I didn't have to pay any upfront fees like I did with Ameritech (when they told me I wouldn't, a week later I saw a fee they charged me) and everything also makes sense to me. I'm disappointed in myself for not doing my research on the company at first before just diving in to it but it's more sickening that there are companies like this that take advantage of people that are really trying to do the right thing. I hope they get shut down soon or at least be honest before you have people sign contracts. Stop selling dreams that's only going to damage people credit and livelihood towards the end

I was using my student loan servicer Nelnet up until 2017 when Ameritech, a third party loan services contacted me and completely deceived me on their services and basically robbed me of my money. Not only did they lie about consolidating my loans saying it would benefit me, they promised me a $0 payments after paying them 7 payments of $237 and then another $99 a month for the next 12 months eventually promising me my loans would be forgiven. When In reality all this did was absolutely nothing for my loan but add an additional $5,000 in interest and paid NOTHING towards the loan, they basically robbed me of my money through false promises and completely set me back to an even worse position than I was in before.
