Aqua Finance Reviews (%countItem)

I have paid this company around $2000 in the last year and a half and my bill has not even gone down $300. At this rate it will never be paid off in the five years I signed the contract for. I believe their practice of the way they charge interest is set up to keep the customer from being able to pay off their account so that they are able to make more money. I will admit I have been late due to some personal issues like flooding with Hurricane Harvey and loosing everything. These people are sm they have no soul. Customer service lies. I was told interest is charged daily so if I am late then pretty much all I am every paying is interest. This is horrible. People do not sign a contract with this company you will be locked in for life with no way out. If you are one day late they hound you. One customer service rep told me they were allowed to call me 15 times a day if they wanted to when I am late.

Aqua Finance, Inc. is in receipt of the complaint filed by ***. We sincerely apologize for any frustrations we have caused her. We hope this response will provide clarity with a detailed explanation of her loan charges and bring closure to this matter. ***’s payments are due on the 15th of each month. *** initially signed a Revolving Charge agreement for $5,500.00 with a 17.9 annual percentage rate. As indicated on her contract, her monthly payment includes a finance charge of 1.4916% per month. The “per diem” or daily interest charge is calculated by multiplying the current principal balance by the annual percentage rate and then divided by 365 days. If *** makes her payment on time each month, she will incur approximately 30 days of interest. If her payment is late, more interest will accrue as there will be more days between each payment. *** has made 13 of her 17 payments late. All but one late pay was made between August 2016 and August 2017, prior to her notifying us of a financial hardship. Aqua Finance, Inc. was and is extremely sensitive to those affected by recent Natural Disasters. On September 1, 2017 *** called and stated that her home was underwater. We told her we would defer her September payment and waive all late fees for the next 60 days. On September 2nd, 2017 the attached letter was sent to *** and all our customers that were potentially impacted by Hurricane Harvey, asking to contact us if they had been affected by the hurricane and that we would be willing to assist in any way we could. We empathize with ***’s situation and if she is still experiencing a financial hardship, we would like to help her in any way possible. We’d ask her to contact our office directly at . Thank you.

I mailed them a check in July 2017 the check was never cashed or returned to me my post master does not know any information but my bank has reported it as a missing check from our account once I was informed by the company I mailed another partial check and have since been making small extra amounts to try and catch up the diffence in the missing check I am only $60.00 behind with them but they have reported on my credit a $145.00 behind which is a false report I have been in contact with 3 differnt people from the bank as well and all where understanding and also worried about the missing check but they are now denying and unwilling to help resolve the issue as of Jan. 8th 2018 they are now trying to say I have missed 3 months in payments.

Aqua Finance Response • Jan 19, 2018

Aqua Finance, Inc. has received the complaint filed by Mr.. We sincerely apologize for any confusion caused and hopes this response provides clarity and brings clarity to this matter. Mr. states that a check was lost in July 2017. Mr.’s payments are due on the 15th of each month. On July 24, 2017 a call was placed to Mr. because the monthly payment was not received. He stated that the payment had been mailed, but did not state the specific date. The July 15th payment was received on August 2, 2017. The August 15th payment was received on September 12th, 2017. On October 4, 2017 a call was placed to Mr. because the September payment was outstanding. At that time he indicated he had been mailing payments each month and would check with his bank. On October 10, 2017 a payment was received in the amount of $200.00; $60.00 over his minimum monthly payment that was due on September 10th. The October 16th payment was received on November 29th. The next payment due November 15th, was not received until January 5, 2018 in the amount of $160.00. Because no payment was received in December 2017 and the July 2017 payment was still outstanding, the loan was reported to the credit bureau as late. Aqua Finance, Inc. has an obligation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to accurately report this information. Because Mr. had made $80.00 in additional payments in October 2017 and January 2018, the payment received on January 12, 2018 in the amount of $60.00, satisfied his January payment. He currently owes his minimum monthly payment for the January 15th payment. We hope this explanation assists Mr. in understanding the history on his loan. For his convenience I have attached a Statement of Account showing all payments made. We apologize that Mr. feels we were unwilling to resolve this situation. We unfortunately have no record of the “missing check”, but are certainly willing to assist any way we can. If Mr. has further questions, he may contact our office at . Thank you.

Regards,

Ricky *** I was informed by them that the checks were being used to satify the prior months if that was the case it would have never been behind the days nor the amount they have reported they where nasty and not willing to help at all I have since made and took care of any past due payments still do and beleave this was an attempt by the company to collect more money in late fees I feel they reported out of context and never made an attempt to contact me or give the respect to let me know I was informed by others from the same company and the day I made the catch up payment in full by the operator that they didnt know why that was reported I was never behind that amount and the second I filed my report with the Revdex.com and my dispute on my credit report it went away and was called by a very polite and eager employee from there company and was able to make headway and satify the deal thank you

I reached out to the company when I noticed that they had charged me a total of 446.38 for just missing 1 billing cycle . It is not fare to charge a customer that much money have I made my payment on-time every month. There is no consideration and no sense of humanity.

Aqua Finance Response • Jan 04, 2018

Aqua Finance, Inc. is in receipt of the complaint filed by Ms.. I have reviewed her file and offer the following findings. On November 14, 2016 Ms. signed a contract for $2,745.00 for a Water Treatment System. She was offered a promotion that allowed to her to pay the loan in full within 12 months without interest - a 12 month same as cash promotion. If the loan was not paid in full interest would be imposed from day one. Ms. received a billing statement each month with the promotion end date of November 23, 217. Ms. did not pay her loan off, but made a payment of $2,300.00, on December 26, 2017 - over one month after the promotion had expired. She did not accrue $446.38 in one month. This amount was the total amount of interest from the beginning of the loan, leaving her a remaining balance on her account of $26.86. After Ms. had several conversations with our Management team, Mr. did call her back and left her a voicemail concerning a refund on December 27th stating no refund would be made. We are willing to waive the remaining balance owed on Ms. loan in the amount of $26.86 to resolve this matter. If she has any further questions, she may reach out to me directly at extension ***. Thank you.

Best,

Aqua Finance, Inc. acknowledges Ms. made timely monthly payments. The due date of her payment is not the same date that her promotion date expired on. As previously stated, Ms. had 1 year from the date of the contract to pay her loan without interest. Ms. did not pay the loan in full within 365 days which caused interest to accrue from the date the contract was signed. I have included a copy of the billing statement sent to Ms. in October of 2017 indicating the promotional end date and the details of her promotion. This information is on each billing statement she received. We apologize sincerely for any confusion caused and did waive the remaining balance of $26.74. Her account is now closed and no further monies are owed. If she has any further questions or would like further clarification, she is welcome to contact me directly at . Thank you.

In June of 2016 we were sold a water system. we were told our water was not drinkable so we had no choice but to buy the water system. they gave us a 10 year warranty in writing that states the condition on the warranty was that we had to have it serviced through them. In november 2016 the unit stopped working and we began calling the telephone numbers they gave us. when I call they say someone will call me back with an appointment. no one has ever called back. I have called them 2x month for over a year. I have written them twice. when I called the beginning of December they said they received my latest letter and someone would call me with an appointment. that was 4 weeks ago. no one called. The unit does not work. I think it was a total scam. I thought that if I didn't make a payment for a few months that they would contact me to service it. only contact they made was call to say my payment was late.. they reported the late payment and now it is on my credit report.

Aqua Finance Response • Jan 08, 2018

Aqua Finance, Inc. acknowledges the complaint filed by Mr.. We have reviewed his file and empathize with his frustrations. We offer the following findings and hope this response provides clarity and closure to this matter. Mr. has been a valued customer since June of 2016. Aqua Finance was first made aware of an issue with the water treatment system on September 30, 2017. As the finance company we do not service the system, but assured Mr. that we would reach out to the dealership who sold him the product. On October 4, 2017, a representative from our office spoke with Danny ***; *** of Environmental Water Resources. He stated that he had not received any calls from Mr., but would reach out to him right away. That same day Danny *** called our office and stated that he had made two attempts to call Mr. and he did not answer. He stated a third attempt would be made that evening and a message would be left. He also informed our representative that there are no charges for service, just the annual cleaning fee. Throughout October and November 2017, numerous attempts were made to reach Mr.. On December 1, 2017 we spoke to Mr. and he stated he was not going to pay until his system was serviced. Our representative explained to him that Environmental Water Resources had attempted to call him. On December 5, 2017 our office made a call to Danny ***. He stated that his records showed no calls from Mr.. He indicated that he would reach out to Mr. again. Our office then received this complaint on January 3, 2018. That same day, Mr. called our office regarding his outstanding amount owed and again expressed his dissatisfaction with the Water Treatment System. We offered to do an immediate conference call with the Dealership and Mr. declined and asked that a supervisor call him back that evening. A supervisor did call Mr. back that evening and offered again to schedule a call with Environmental Water Resources. He asked that we call him the next day. A representative called him at the time requested on January 4, 2018 and Mr. did not answer the call.

We believe we have made numerous attempts to rectify the situation and assist Mr. in resolving this issue. If Mr. wishes to reschedule a conference call, he is welcome to contact our office at to do so. Thank you.

The worst company along with *** along with lies , and very crooked customer service since upper management makes thier customer service representatives lie. Run and run fast. Do not sign their contract or even even allow them in you house. They will place a lien on your houses quicker than *** and lie about it. All about the money don’t give a *** about thier customers. Run fast.

Stupidly purchased shampooer and purifier on 8/12/2016 with $500 down payment from door-to-door salesman. Was told financial institution was Aqua Finance, Inc and statements would arrive within 30 - 45 days. Less than 30 days later, received letter from Bay Financial informing of the purchase of my account from Aqua Finance with a statement arriving around 8/27/2016. Payment of $200 made, on check # ***, and posted 9/12/2016. received a letter detailing a second sale of the account to Connexus Credit Union on 9/16/2016. Payment in full of $1036.34 made to Connexus on 9/16/2016 and posted to my bank on 9/19/2016. There has been no contact via phone, snail mail, email, carrier pigeon, smoke signals, Morse code and/or drums. Yet on 11/12/2017 and 12/8/2017, Aqua Finance accessed my Credit report through Equifax as reported by TrustedID, a credit monitoring agency as I am a victim of credit fraud TWICE during the breach of Equifax and an unauthorized access of personal identifying information at a medical facility, both in this year alone.

Aqua Finance Response

Aqua Finance, Inc. is in receipt of the complaint filed by Mr.. We have conducted a thorough review of Mr. account in reference to the unauthorized access to his credit report on November 12, 2017 and December 8th, 2017. We have searched our records and the only time Mr. credit was accessed was August 12, 2016; which was the time he was approved for a loan with our company. If Mr. could provide records of Aqua Finance, Inc. accessing his credit on the above referenced days, we would greatly appreciate and could investigate further. He may contact me directly at . Thank you.

Aqua Finance Response

We appreciate Mr. sending us this documentation, however nowhere on the information provided does it say that Aqua Finance, Inc. accessed Mr. credit report. The bureaus "may" have updated to show the account is paid in full or closed, but we have no way of knowing based on the information provided. If Mr. can provide us the specifics of the "change" to his credit, we would be happy to look in to this further. Thank you.

I signed the agreement because ex-husband thought this was exactly what we needed, which is part of the reason he's my ex. The agreement was signed on 3/7/2014. I requested a payment history letter which I received, dated 5/1/2015 which showed my current balance as more than when I signed the paperwork. I was VERY naïve. The loan has been sold from Carmel Financial to Aqua to Connexus and now back to Aqua and each time my credit report takes a hit. Three years later I still owe 75% of the original loan. They hound me at work at home etc. I am a single income with living expenses and this bill is not going away. I wish they would appeal to their sense of humanity and have more ethical business practices. The whole financial deal is WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! As a consumer I basically have no rights because like an it I signed the paper work. To top it off they have the nerve to have added an annual fee and they also call me annually to see if I want to pay $99 for maintenance. Please someone do something for those of us who are attempting to be responsible consumers and have predators such as this. Moreover this was advertised and promoted by Home Depot!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give negative forever stars I would.

I got behind because I lost my husband shortly after they finished. I spoke to them and they told me they put it on the back end of the payments. I am making minimum payments because it is all I can do. Today they call and tell me they don’t put it on the back of the payments and that I am still behind. It is deducted every month from my bank account. The person called from Austin Texas and was incredibly rude. I told her to stop harassing me I make the payments and she was talking over me so I hung up.

Pushy to make a sale and customer service is awful.

I will never use this company to Finance anything again, they are professional crooks. I have looked up the amortization schedule on my "simple interest" loan on Dinkytown.net to see what I should be paying and discovered that they manipulate to numbers so we are still paying 50% interest vs principal after almost 3 years. They representatives are absolutely no help but to just to keep you paying and calm you down when you know you've been ripped off! Almost 3 years of paying almost $6000 out of a $7900 loan, we still owe almost $6000.

Please see attached email below to clarify my statement.

Aqua finance took over my loan from *** roughly about a year ago. I had never missed a payment with ***. I was recently contacted my Aqua finance saying I missed a payment. I told Aqua this is not the case bc I am on auto bill pay. Aqua proceeds to tell me that my auto pay is no longer in effect and that the accumulated extra payments I made toward my principal were used to cover my nonpayments for the past year. I was then informed by Aqua that they sent me 1 letter notifying me of the change. I was unhappy to say the least had conversations with the management still no resolve to this issue. Long story short I am Aqua to make amends for the futures payments I made. I was tentatively told my interest fees may be resolved but it required a managers approval. Aqua followed up with me and told me they managers decided not to issue me a credit for $300.

Chelsea,

Per our conversation, I will be contacting the Revdex.com at this point since Tonya nor Melissa (supervisor and manager) at your organization was unable to assist me; you all have left me no other choice. Also according to YOUR representative who called me the 1st time I was issued ONE letter. That was his words exactly, and furthermore the last correspondences I received was from ***. Which coincides and collaborates with what your rep told me about 2 weeks ago.

Now your organization’s official statement is that I been issued many letters. This statement has only been made since the request for interest reversal was made.

If Tonya and Melissa wish to contact me and resolve this issue and give me the $300 (or so) reversal in interest payment I would accept their call, and begin the auto pay feature which I had established with ***. Anything outside of that we can let the Revdex.com assist in this matter

Aqua Finance Response

Aqua Finance, Inc. acknowledges Mr.’ complaint and hopes to provide clarity to this situation. We regret the circumstances surrounding this matter and apologize for the inconveniences caused.

On July 22, 2016 Aqua Finance, Inc. purchased Mr.’ loan from *** Financial. A letter notifying him of this change was mailed to him the same day. According to the records received from *** Financial Mr. was not enrolled in their automatic payment program, but was making payments each month by phone. In addition, monthly statements were mailed to Mr. providing him with his balance, amount owed and how to make monthly payments. I have included these statements for his review.

Due to interest accruing on a daily basis on this loan, we are unable to reverse these accrued interest charges as they are legitimate charges on his loan. Our position is that Mr. was provided with sufficient information on a monthly basis regarding his loan along with the initial letter stating his loan had been sold. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. If Mr. wishes to discuss this matter further he may contact our office at . Thank you.
Katie

I believe this company is manipulating numbers. Your statement says one minimum payment amount that is lower than what your contractual loan monthly payment is. so if you pay the amount that is on their statement instead of paying what you are contractually supposed to pay then you are charged more in interest. In the 6 months since my loan was sold to this company I have paid out $600 and only $58 of that has gone to the principal. Heidi attempted to tell me that I had been late several times which was a lie and I have the documentation to prove that there were no missed payments. Someone needs to investigate this company.

I called them for my pay off amount. I submitted the payment that day. When I received my last billing statement I reviewed it carefully. It stated I had an zero balance. A closer look at the bill really stated I overpaid them by $8.15. That is the exact amount they decided to charge me interest on the last bill.

Aqua Finance are robbers. I was ahead a month on my payments and my principal versus interest was just about 50/50 so I went back to paying on time or a couple of days before the due date and the split went to 80/20 interest way! I called the dimwitted associates who don't have a clue to explain to me what the hell is going on with my account and they explained that since I didn't make a payment in the month I've already paid for that I owed them some 80 something odd dollars! being that I had done this twice it came to 190! I never missed a payment and sometimes paid twice in a month and end up with 80/20 split with interest always more! I call scam and bad business practices! I'm going to get my bank to take over this debt. I am done with these thieves!

Aqua Finance Response

This loan is a simple interest loan as outlined in the contract. Simple interest is determined by multiplying the daily interest rate by the principal by the number of days that elapse between payments. The more days that elapse between payments, the more interest will accrue when the next payment posts to the account. Despite being paid ahead, if no payments are made for 60 days, 60 days of interest will accrue and be applied to the next payment. If Mr. J has any more questions or requires further clarification, he may contact our office at ***. Thank you
