I specifically signed up with this company first to save money of course but because they had a promotion for a free *** home mini when you sign up. FOR FREE. Now they are asking me for my credit card number to verify my account in order for it to be processed. I also have pictures of the false advertisement. No small print.

Thank you for bringing ***’ complaint to our attention. We completely appreciate her concerns and hope that we are able to help explain how enrollment in clean energy with Arcadia Power works. Participation in Arcadia Power’s Wind Energy program means joining our Bill Pay program, there are both available at no additional cost. To join our Wind Energy programs, members connect their online utility account and a method of payment, they then begin to pay their utility bills through Arcadia Power’s Bill Pay program. There are no added fees or additional charges to participate in our 50% Wind Energy membership. What their utility charges them is what they would pay directly to Arcadia Power with the added bonus of supporting renewable energy. We are currently running a promotion for members in ***’ area where they may enroll for our 50% Wind Energy program and receive a free *** Home Mini. *** is more than welcome to join and get her free *** Home Mini as soon as she completes her Arcadia Power enrollment for our 50% Wind Energy program by connecting a method of payment. We have reached out to *** via email with information on our promotions and information on completing enrollment. We would be happy to schedule a call to discuss our program and address her concerns. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at ***.

First, you WILL NOT save money by using Arcadia.
During the months that I regrettably trusted Arcadia with dealing with my energy bills, my bills were higher than they have ever been in the six years that I have lived at my current residence. Not just a few dollars higher due to fees and whatnot for using Arcadia. I’m talking upwards of fifty dollars. I suspect that if it’s happened to me, it has most likely happened to others and will most likely happen to you as well.
Clean energy is great and all, but when I’m promised clean energy and a lower monthly bill only to find that I have been LIED to about the monthly bill... Well, Arcadia can go straight to ***.
Do not trust this company. Do not switch to them. They will take your money for no reason especially not as noble a reason as providing clean energy.
Absolute shysters.

Hi Mack,
Thank you so much for reaching out. I’m sorry you haven’t enjoyed your experience as an Arcadia Power member. I hope I’m able to shed a little light on how it all works.
Just to clarify a little bit, we do not charge any additional cost to be a member of our 50% Wind Energy program. In fact, we offer many opportunities to save through Price Alerts or Community Solar.
I’m sorry to hear that your energy charges have gone up. Many factors can drive up a utility bill such as weather, new appliances, or house guests. We’ll reach out to you via email to try and see if we can help you get to the bottom of this.
Please feel free to reach out to us at *** or at

I’ve never done to anyone from this company but some how they were able to get a hold of my electric bill and try to change my device. This is not how a business should be ran

Thank you for bringing ***’s complaint to our attention, we appreciate her concerns and hope to shed some light on the situation. *** started an account with us on 03/08/18 and completed her membership on 10/25/18 by providing her utility login information. When a member signs up with their utility username and password - as well as agree to our Terms of Service, they are enrolled on our platform. By providing this information, a new member has authorized us to access to their utility account where we are then able to evaluate their bill and identify opportunities for them to save on their supply rate through our Price Alerts service. We only switch a member's supplier if Arcadia Power is able to find a lower rate than what that member is currently paying. We also have a customer-friendly policy ensuring we always send two emails notifying our members of this program and give them the opportunity to ask more questions or opt out. Our system indicates that we sent ***’s first opt out email on 11/01/18 and her second opt out email on 11/07/18. If we don't hear from someone after those emails are sent, we officially enroll them in our Price Alerts program allowing us to switch their supplier on their behalf if we are able to find a lower rate. Since we did not hear from *** after those two emails, a confirmation email was sent on 11/14/18 confirming her enrollment in Price Alerts. Please see attached these three email communications from us to ***. Today, on 03/15/19, we canceled ***’s membership with Arcadia Power and have unenrolled her from our Price Alerts program. We would be happy to schedule a call to discuss our program and address ***’s concerns. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at .

They automatically opt you into a program just for trying to request more information. If you do not open you email you still get enrolled in the program and the only way you are notified if you are lucky is through a letter from your utility company stating that you requested to transfer your service. The company that your service is transferred to is not even Arcadia Power, it's some other random company that they sell your account to.

My energy supplier was changed and Arcadia Power changed it without authorization. I submitted my name and address into a Facebook and saw it was a deceptive scam.

Even without submitting my information, my energy supplier was changed without authorization.

Now my energy supplier rate is 50% higher than usual.

Arcadia Power is using deceptive advertisements to get people to sign up.

I've contacted them and they said it will take multiple billing cycles to switch me back to my original energy supplier.

Right now, it has costed me around $50 dollars more after 3 billing cycles. I want it to stop and for Arcadia to repay the cost.

Thank you for bringing ***’s complaint to our attention. We completely appreciate his concerns and hope that we are able to shed some light on how Arcadia Power operates and come to a resolution. When *** joined Arcadia Power and connected his utility account on July 10th 2018 he agreed to our Terms of Service and joined our Price Alerts program where we may switch his electric supplier. We sent two emails on 9/27/18 and 10/3/18 informing *** we would switch his supplier and his new rate with Think Energy began on 10/31/18. According to our records, *** opened both of these emails on the same day they were sent.On December 29th *** wrote in asking to be switched back to Eversource for his electric supply. We processed his request but the un-enrollment process is not instantaneous and Think was listed as his supplier on his most recent statement. We have reached out to Think Energy directly concerning ***’s account to ensure he is returned to Eversource as his supplier. After *** contacted us concerned that Think Energy was still listed as his supplier we asked him to send us his most recent statement, as soon as we received his Eversource bill we began the refund process. *** will receive a check in the mail for $41.76 within 7-10 business days. We have reached out to *** via email to let him know he is being refunded and to address his concerns. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at .

I've been an Arcadia member for almost two years and have had NO problems with them. The sign up was easy and transparent. I think any complaint that has been filed is because some people don't understand what Arcadia does. It was confusing to me before I signed up. I researched what REC's (renewable energy certificates) are and how they relate to what Arcadia does. After I ascertained that they were a legitimate company I signed up for the free 50% program. My energy payments switched seamlessly from my existing power company to Arcadia with no additional charges. I then bought 3 solar panels which saves me about $3 a month. Since Arcadia had proven their value to me I switched to the 100% renewable program which does cost an extra 10% or so, but is worth it to me to support renewable energy.

We have been very happy with our Arcadia experience. Reading the negative reviews makes me think the writers did not fully understand what the process was. It is not a bill lowering enterprise but an alternative to support cleaner energy. We've had no problems and no terrible bills and, in fact, have just moved to 100%.

I have been a subscriber of Acadia Power for more than a year and have had NO issues with the process.
I live in Arnaudville Louisiana and my home is serviced by ***.
*** bills Arcadia Power and in turn Arcadia Power auto withdraws that EXACT amount and pays my *** bill.
I subscribe to the free 50 percent usage requirement and am delighted to know that 50 percent of my usage is being purchased from wind farms.
If anyone is having problems with the way the payments are coordinated I suggest they call Arcadia and they will walk them through the set up - as they did with me.

Arcadia withdrew money from checking account after I canceled with them. Then refused to repay me. This is a fraudulent company.

Thank you so much for bringing ***’s complaint to our attention. We completely appreciate her concerns and hope that we can help explain how the billing process works at Arcadia Power. According to our records, ***’s requested her account be closed on 11/24 which is after we had processed her payment on 11/23. To successfully delay a payment, the request must come in during our three day grace period between issuing the statement and withdrawing the funds. We issued ***’s statement on 11/20 informing her the withdraw would take place on 11/23, it appears this email was unfortunately unread. As this payment has processed we are unable to refund the statement as the charges have already been sent to ***’s utility account and we are not in possession of the funds. We have reached out to *** via phone and email and hope we have been able to sufficiently answer her questions. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at .

I signed up with Arcadia Power as a third party to supply renewable energy. They have been billing me and are supposed to then pay *** (who is my energy utility). I just learned that they never completed the set up process with *** however they have been billing me anyway. Consequently, I have been auto paying both parties for the last year and a half. I was never contacted by Arcadia about the set up problems but they have been continuing to bill me.They are not answering their phone. I have sent an email message to their customer service but have not heard back from them yet.

Arcadia Response • Oct 16, 2018

Thank you so much for bringing ***’s complaint to our attention, as *** is not an account holder with Arcadia Power we are unable to go into specifics on any account but we are more than happy to explain how the billing process with Arcadia Power works overall. When a member enrolls in Bill Pay with Arcadia Power we issue them a statement for their utility chargers and add on any additional charges or savings for other programs they may have enrolled in such as 100% Wind Energy, Community Solar, or Home Efficiency. As soon as we receive the customer’s payment we send the utility’s portion directly on to the utility. In any instances of a double payment to the utility, there would be a credit reflected on the next month’s statement. We encourage anyone who thinks they might have been double charged to look at their bank account history to look for a payment both to Arcadia Power and to their utility. While we do our best to reach out to utilities and explain our programs, not every utility customer service representative is familiar with our program as we don’t show up directly on their account as a direct payment program as a bank might. We have reached out to *** via email and phone to let her know we would be happy to discuss any concerns further with an Arcadia Power account holder. Should any Arcadia Power account holder or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further please reach out to us at .

I signed up with Arcadia power a few months ago, under a free subscription, and was lured in by an advertisement that by signing up with Arcadia power, I could cut down on my monthly power bill. It said that they would track my energy usage and give tips to help conserve (which I thought was GREAT)!
I was excited to help our world. After them tracking my usage for a few months and giving me tips (like advertised) all of a sudden then started charging me, for services I did not agree for. I have not been receiving any billing statements and when I called they told me I would need to contact AEP (my actual power company). AEP could not help (because they were only charging what my bill was for). Arcadia was also taking my entire bill (so essentially being charged TWICE). I had to dispute it with my bank.

Thank you for bringing ***’s complaint to our attention, we appreciate her concerns and hope that we can shed light on the situation. *** became a member with us on 5/21/18, on that day we sent an email confirming her membership and giving instructions to pay any existing balance directly to her utility and to then turn off any automatic payment she had in place with AEP. For reference, I’ve attached a screenshot of the email sent.It appears that ***’s automatic payments were not disabled resulting in her account being charged once from Arcadia Power and once from AEP. We sent our payment on to AEP and any double payment resulted in a credit on Ms. Elliot’s next bill from AEP. The only charges issued by Arcadia Power were ones directly issued from AEP Ohio as *** was enrolled in our 50% Membership, which is at no additional cost. For reference, I’ve attached the last Arcadia Power bill issued before *** closed her account detailing the breakdown of the charges and the corresponding AEP bill that shows that our charges match exactly what we billed her for. This screenshot also shows the double payment and resulting credit on ***’s AEP statement. I have attached a screenshot of the portion of the bill highlighting the double payment and resulting credit on her account. As Arcadia Power has not charged *** for any other charges than the ones issued by her utility and all payments reflected on her AEP account we are unable to issue a refund. We have reached out to *** previously via email with all the information regarding our billing process. We would be happy to schedule a call to discuss our program and address her concerns. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at .

Very happy customer here! Let me write about my understanding of the company, then address some concerns voiced on this site about Arcadia being "scammy".
What Arcadia does: Arcadia provides a way for electricity consumers to support renewable energy, even if their utility does not source their energy from renewable sources, and the consumer can't install solar panels on their property (e.g. apartment renters). There are three ways to do this through Arcadia: (1) 50% wind power plan, (2) 100% wind power plan, and (3) community solar. Through Plan 1, Arcadia pays your electric bill through your utility, and for no extra charge, buys Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) supporting enough wind power to offset 50% of your electricity usage. Again, Plan 1 requires NO additional charge on the consumer's part. Plan 2 is the same, except they offset 100% of your usage through wind power RECs, and they WILL add an additional charge onto your account - $0.015 per kWh, with a minimum charge of $5. In Plan 3, the customer gets the use of solar panels offsite, basically by subsidizing Arcadia Power to buy them at an upfront one-time cost of $100 per panel, which results in an average of $1 month of solar savings to the customer for the next 10 years. That means, per panel, $100 down, long-term return of about $120. In my view, Plan 3 is the best plan for those concerned about their carbon footprint, since this is the one where you’re actively offsetting your electricity usage through funding solar energy projects – it’s the one plan where you can truly get close to net-zero emissions from electricity usage.
How can Arcadia afford to do this: One question is, for their basic Plan 1 (50% wind power), how can they afford to buy RECs if they don't charge you any extra? In other words, how do they make money? My understanding, based on an answer from another site, is that they've developed patented software that allows a kind of "shifting around" of electric billing between states and utility providers. This allows them to take advantage of rate differences of customers in different areas. Add in customer payments from the 100% wind power plan and the community solar projects, and there are actually multiple sources of substantial income for them.
Notes on reports of "scammy" charges: These seem to be based on customers’ misunderstanding of what they’re getting. For example, some people seem to be confused about the 100% wind power plan ("Plan 2"). That plan comes with a MINIMUM charge of $5, but if you use a lot of electricity (over 333 kWh per month), it'll be more, since its cost is $0.015 per kWh. So as a result, people have reported that their bills went up when they started using Arcadia. I think this misunderstanding of the 100% wind power plan is probably behind all of this. I know they are not secretly inflating the base utility charges, because I can still sign on to my utility provider's site and see the original charge I would be receiving through them, then compare it to the bill that Arcadia sends me -- it's the same. There's NO added charge. In short, it seems to me that, because Arcadia provides a new kind of business model, people tend to be skeptical, which, combined with misunderstanding of the services they’re getting, results in people mistakenly thinking they’re being scammed.
In summary: Arcadia lets you support renewable energy through wind power RECs, or through offsetting your electricity usage through community solar projects. I’m a citizen concerned about climate change and my impact on it, but I’m also a renter, so I’m limited in the changes I can make to my home to curb my emissions. Arcadia lets me offset my electricity usage through supporting solar energy generation. In addition, they use my payments to help support the wind power industry through the purchasing of RECs. As far as I know, they’re the only option I have for doing this – so I honestly can’t recommend them enough!

I like the idea of Arcadia power and using green energy. However, their customer service is terrible. Their system keeps messing up my energy provider login and they refuse to fix it or even investigate the issue and just keep telling me to reset my password. This is dumb because things will work for a few days, then go bad, so clearly, it's something in their system.
