Arcadia has been a fantastic experience so far. Support is quick to answer any questions. I'm on the 50% free plan, and it has been smooth sailing switching from APS in Arizona. I'm debating switching to the 100% plan, even though my power usage is quite high in the Summer. It feels good to do good! I recommend messaging support and asking what the costs would be for your plan if you are debating switching to 100% renewable energy.

I like the idea of Arcadia power and using green energy. However, their customer service is terrible. Their system keeps messing up my energy provider login and they refuse to fix it or even investigate the issue and just keep telling me to reset my password. This is dumb because things will work for a few days, then go bad, so clearly, it's something in their system.

Arcadia advertises a free *** home mini if I switched to their service. Currently a *** home mini retails for $49. I recieved multiple emails confirming this offer, and again when the product shipped. I did not receive a *** home Mini though. Instead, they sent me a *** chrome cast, which only retails for $35 and has less capabilities than a *** home mini.

I called their customer service number, and they said that their advertising emails were wrong (and sent in error multiple times) and I recieved what was promised. I never recieved any emails claiming that their emails were sent in error.

Thank you for bringing Ms.’ complaint to our attention. We sincerely apologize for any miscommunication and hope that we can offer a satisfactory resolution. It appears while Ms. enrolled and was sent a promotion for a *** Chromecast, she was sent a shipping email referring to a *** Home Mini. We have included Ms. in our next shipment of *** Home Minis and have reached out to her via email to let her know to expect to receive the promotion shortly.Should Ms. or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at .

For those looking to support renewable energy but don't know how...this is it! It's extremely easy to sign up and nothing changes on your end. Your electric bill gets paid as usual, just through Arcadia instead of your electric company. You still have access to your statements and Arcadia provides statements as well. It's also free to support 50% wind energy and only costs approximately an extra $10/month to support 100%. Plus they offer solar savings if you prefer that. This applies to anyone with electric service...renters or owners...and you can take it with you if you move. As always, be diligent but this is a universal renewable energy support program that not only makes sense but is also easy to participate in...what most customers ask for in support of alternative/renewable energies.

Thank you for bringing Mr.’s complaint to our attention. We completely appreciate his concerns and hope that we can better explain our billing process and charges. As Mr. was enrolled in our 100% Membership, Arcadia Power was managing his utility bill and ensuring 100% of his electricity was sourced from wind at a small additional cost. We send the charges generated by his utility, *** Gas and Electric, and automatically withdraw the funds three days later. Arcadia Power’s charges last month were $5. Upon further investigation, it appears that Mr.’s charges from his utility increased significantly from last month to this month primarily due to Mr.’s natural gas charges increasing 172%. After Mr. wrote in, we encouraged him to contact RG&E directly to reread his meter. He wrote back requesting his account be canceled. We canceled the account but the payment had already processed at that time and will be sent to RG&E on his behalf. We have reached out to Mr. via email and phone to answer any questions he might have. We would be happy to schedule a call to discuss our billing process and address his concerns. Should Mr. or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further we can be reached at .

I have been very happy with using Arcadia for wind power, and have added solar power to my account portfolio as well. I understood when I signed up that there would be an additional small charge for buying the amount of electricity I use as wind power instead of conventional carbon-fueled power, and I accepted that. The amount charged has been reasonable in my view, and I am happy to create a little more demand for wind power.

At first glance Arcadia Power seems great. They offer to take care of managing your power choices to ensure the lowest green/wind supplied rate. In actuality, they never changed my provider, and they just racked on a percentage called “wind service charge” and added it to my bill. Then paid PP&L what was due to them and took the rest for themselves. This is very scammy.

I have to say, I fully thought that my Xcel bill, based on the information given on their website, would be transferred to Arcadia, free of charge. Meaning, I believed the more efficient we became at our business, and the decreasing costs with Xcel, would be identical in payment. And then to add 100% wind power would be an additional $5? Sure!, I thought, sounds amazing, however 2 months in with them and my bills have been more than double what it had been. We aren't even in the winter months using heat, so I just can't afford more than the recent $560 for a month. I don't know how this is happening and if you try and find a phone number, forget it. This is not the customer service we give to our customers and it's not what I will stand for either. Bye, Arcadia.

They used extremely deceptive practices, at least back in 2015, such that I and many others at a tabling event at my church were duped into thinking *** was an energy supplier or an agent for energy suppliers; in other words, that they were selling an actual product. I signed up and had my utility billing switched to them. It cost only a little more than I was paying for my electricity anyway, and I thought that this company was putting sustainably-produced energy into the grid in equal amounts to that which its customers bought; in other words, that even though the specific electrons coming to my outlets weren't coming directly from a windmill, still in effect I would be purchasing "***" energy.
A year later, *** stopped being able to take over our bills and I went back to receiving bills from my local utility, but *** continued to bill me each month for their surcharge. I still thought this was as a fee for them either producing the equivalent amount of "***" energy or acting as an agent with companies that did to make sure my amount of power was purchased from "***" producers.
Only today, when speaking to my local supply and delivery company, and then calling my specific supplier (***) and then talking to ***, did I get it all sorted out. I found out that *** does not supply or produce ANY energy. They just take my money, give some to various projects and companies that are producing some "***" power, and keep the rest as profit, while not producing ANY goods or services for my money. It's a scam. They told me I'm "investing" in "***" energy - but I ALREADY am because I've signed up with a supplier that produces "***" energy. *** is pretending to be a middleman and charging a fee for hooking me up with the "***" energy, but they don't actually do that. Their slick marketing materials and pitch fooled me. And mind you, I am well-educated and sharp and always on the lookout for scams. It takes a lot to fool me. But *** did fool me. They may have more recently made their marketing materials slightly more clear, but they were extremely deceptive when I signed up, and even today people thing they are buying something that they are not. They are very shady. If they were completely transparent about where consumer's money goes, I'm sure lots of people would still donate to them as a nonprofit investing in "***" energy. But they portray themselves as actually purveyors of such, not just investors. It's a scam, and quite profitable for them.

Thank you for bringing *** complaint to our attention. *** is correct that we have been purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to ensure that 100% of her electricity was sourced from wind, at first based upon her exact usage and then upon her average consumption. We are continuously monitored by a third party to ensure we are purchasing RECs that are up to date and retiring them appropriately. We sincerely appreciate *** feedback about our messaging, to clarify, *** Power is not a supplier and does not claim to be one. This information can be found on our website, in particular our FAQ. Upon request, we closed *** account and sent her a follow-up email containing prior communication about how we are sourcing renewable energy on her behalf as we are committed to transparency.Regarding *** request for a refund, *** has been a customer with us over the the last three years on a consistent payment schedule at even a discounted rate as a courtesy to her as a valued member. Therefore we do not consider a refund for the lifetime of her involvement with *** Power prudent at this time. However, we are more than willing to refund her the last payment she made in June. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further, we can be reached at *** or at

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Again, I repeat, their marketing materials were fraudulent. They were very much made to make it seem that they were indeed a supplier or a broker for a supplier. See, I currently buy energy from ***. *** does not produce all of the wind energy that they sell, either, BUT *** does indeed buy the energy from the producers and then sell it to the grid in equal amounts as they bill the end consumer. This is very different from what *** does. *** buys *certificatessaying that a certain amount of energy was produced but they do not buy the energy and sell it to the grid because the producer has ALREADY SOLD THE ENERGY TO THE GRID. This is "double-dipping" and it is fraudulent. I was, as they mentioned in their response to you, a customer for almost four years - because I believed them to be providing a SERVICE of brokering the sale of the wind energy. But the energy had already been sold and then they bought "certificates" - which are worthless.

Their marketing materials and their website were purposely designed to be DECEPTIVE. They defrauded me of the amount of money I quoted in my original complaint, as they have defrauded MANY other customers.

I am currently away from home, but when I get back, I will send attachments of some of their print materials I received back in 2014.

Regards

Thank you for bringing *** reply to our attention, we’re more than happy to help clarify and address her concerns. *** Energy purchases Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) exactly as *** Power does, they simply have the price of clean energy bundled with the cost of electricity. *** Power separates the cost of clean energy as we are not a supplier and cannot bundle the cost. In fact for quite some time we used the same certification process as *** Energy to verify our RECs, business practices, and monitor our purchases to ensure no double dipping took place. *** Energy has information about the RECs they purchase on their website: https://www.***energy.com/what-does-***-e-certified-mean/.We encourage *** to send over any materials she received in the past so we may respond to her concerns more thoroughly. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further, we can be reached at *** or at

Arcadia Power have been a wonderful company to work with personally and their business mission is something we all need to get behind.

Thank you so much for your kind review, we're so glad to hear you enjoy being an Arcadia Power member!
Thank you for supporting clean energy with Arcadia Power and always feel free to reach out to us if you have any feedback or questions about your account, we're here to help.

I've been an Arcadia customer for about 8 months and have had nothing but a positive experience with them. The process of linking my electric utility was extremely simple, and their web portal to display usage in context is more advanced than my supplier, showing not only my usage over time and vs. other customers, but also a breakdown of the origin of that power for my state and the country overall (coal, natural gas, solar, etc). I switched from their free plan (at no extra cost to my bill) to their 100% clean one, and I paid an extra $5 a month which I was happy to do in order to help incentivize green energy programs. What they offer has been very straightforward to me, and their customer service has been extremely helpful and responsive to my questions. I've recommended Arcadia to about a dozen friends and none of them have expressed anything but positive opinions as well.

I signed up with Arcadia power a few months ago, under a free subscription, and was lured in by an advertisement from the *** that by signing up with Arcadia power, I could cut down on my monthly power bill. I have since been getting billed monthly, for services I did not agree for,... have not been receiving any billing statements, and additionally am unable to get a hold of any one at this company over the phone.

Arcadia Response • Jul 16, 2018

Thank you so much for bringing ***’s complaint to our attention. Upon investigation, *** was not billed directly by Arcadia Power but was enrolled in our Price Alerts program, meaning we found him savings on his utility bill. ***’s savings were anticipated to be roughly 10%. It appears as if ***’s monthly bill was adjusted by his utility and was not a result of his enrollment with Arcadia Power. We received notice that *** terminated his enrollment with the electric supplier we found for him and per our agreement, we covered any charges incurred from this switch. We are unable to offer a refund as *** was never charged by Arcadia Power and received savings for having participated in our program. We have reached out directly to *** via email to explain our program and offer further explanation of Arcadia Power and his bill. Should *** or the Revdex.com wish to discuss this further, we can be reached at [email protected] or at ***.

On March 12, 2018 and April 12, 2018 a payment of $174.76 and $148.74 respectively was sent via Santander Bank bill pay to 1121 14th St. NW, Washington, DC per my request. I did not realize they did not accept check but billed through credit card.

I have been working since May 9th to retrieve those funds... thru numerous emails with the same results NOTHING...…… I have since called my bank and they pulled these "physical checks" and they were cashed. Back of checks shows a scribble - not a "signature'..... no stamps or any other markings. I am not in the process of WAITING "AGAIN" for another call back from the "Billing Team" to get their FAX number to send them a copy of the cashed checks...……… WISH me LUCK...……. I would NEVER use this company EVER
