We have received your correspondence regarding the siding on the home of [redacted] and [redacted] .As indicated, they submitted a claim to the warranty offices which was denied While the submitted pictures showed a fading/discoloration affect, it was determined to not be caused by a manufacturing concern and denied. The homeowner challenged that decision with a panel, but our testing on the panel was inconclusive - we were unable to determine if an outside contaminant was present or not Further, a fading test was performed and the results indicated the panel had not faded beyond the threshold indicated by the warranty terms As such, our original position/denial was maintained. The class action mentioned does not apply to this home as the [redacted] s are not class members. If we can be of further assistance in this matter, please let us know

*** *** ***I was given days to respond and we are on day I want the company to send out a warranty representative to my homeI feel their reason for denying my claim is still unjustifiable. Thanks, *** ***

I am rejecting this response because:I was told it was a lifetime warranty The contractor said all we had to do was call them if there was a problem Contractor goes out of business and i'm stuck dealing with this group who try to delay the process so long that they think people will simply give up.I find nothing in writing on my original paperwork that states I have to pay for them to fix my windows Why would I have to pay them to honor their own warranty Contractor told me that all I had to do was call This company is not only unprofessional, but unresponsive and obviously fraudulent in offering services and then trying to charge me for them

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Received a check with the full refund and the check clearedThis is an acceptable resolution

We have received your correspondence regarding Mr***.As indicated by the homeowner, our offices denied his claim We could not verify that a manufacturing defect existed with the door.He contacted our offices back and was transferred to a manager who explained that since he had already
removed the door, we were unable to investigate the matter further Thus, without the ability to gather new relevant data to challenge the prior decision, we would have no choice but to maintain our denial Based on the information we received and the knowledge that the door has already been removed, we must maintain our denial of this claim

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/23) */
We have received your correspondence regarding the siding on the home of Mr***
Mr*** is the second owner of the siding installed at his addressAs listed in the terms of the applicable warranty, he is entitled to pro-rated
coverageWe have presented him with two options for resoltuion - a repair, pro-rated as indicated by the warranty terms, and a settlement equivalent to our expected costs in enacting the repair
He may choose either option, but he is not entitled to full coverage as he has requestedWe have presented him with the resolution as indicated in his warranty
We will continue to await his reply to our offers
It should be noted that we are not penalizing the homeowner for failing to register their transferThe warranty provides we should deny any claimant who failed to transfer their warrantyInstead, we are providing him with the coverage that a homeowner would get if they did file their transferAny 2nd owner under this warranty receives pro-rated coverage
If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I would be happy to accept the offer, but it does not solve the problem of defective sidingBoth of the companies that inspected the siding showed that if you just rub on the siding, paint comes off in your handAll of the siding is defective, and by trying to fix a portion, it does not solve the problemThe only way to completely solve the problem is to reside the entire house as more and more paint is peeling offI would like the company to explain what "Lifetime warranty against peeling" really meansI have read many complaints against Alside and these problems, and they do not stand behind their productsI am glad I don't treat my customers in this manner, but Alside seems to believe it is acceptable
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/06/26) */
As indictaed previously we are honoring the terms of our warranty in full with the offer made to Mr***
Our warranty clearly indicates that peeling is a covered item, and further indicates that we reserve the right to choose the method of repair with refinishing being a listed optionWe offered to refinish all walls of this home
Replacement is only offered at our option and will not be provided in this situationRefinishing will successfully remedy the problemFurther, if refinishing is selected, his warranty remains in full effect
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/07/02) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I would like a representative of the company to call me to discuss the refinishing processI want to talk to a decision maker, not a customer service repMy telephone number is ***

We have received your correspondence regarding the *** *** in *** As the homeowner indicated they returned their signed repair authorization on 5/11/- we received it 5/ We originally sent this offer on 10/19/ On 6/5, after discussions with refinishers that
work locally, it was assigned to *** ***.The letter signed by the church on 5/10/indicates that it may take several months to conduct this repair - we can not guarantee it will be done by their celebration, but can guarantee that we will honor our warranty in completing the repair. If further information is needed form us, please let us know

We have received your correspondence regarding the home of Mr***. Fade claims under our warranty terms are evaluated under the guidelines therein. The received panel was tested and did not exceed the threshold needed which indicated that the panel did not fade sufficiently to
garner approval. Typically for an uneven fade complaint the lab would request two samples - a light and a dark for comparison. Since only one panel was received, they only tested to see how far the one panel had changed form the original color. Further, it indicated to me that they may not have realized this was an uneven fade claim. As such, upon receipt of this correspondence, I requested the lab re-evaluate their findings accordingly and submitted to them the pictures we had on file along with some images found on the internet as well. From those they were able to see the difference as indicated by the homeowner. Typically pictures would be evaluated with any submitted panel, but as stated by the claimant, the difference is pretty severe. I can only assume that some or all of the pictures did not make it to the lab for review with the panel.Based on this recent evaluation, we will agree to approve this claim. Our warranty staff will take these new results and evaluate the matter further to determine what will be offered to the claimant. This offer (or offers) should be set out no later than next week

I am rejecting this response because: To the Revdex.com, I am so upset that when making a large purchase for my home that a Company will not stand behind their product and the consumer is left with having to have this replaced. Below is a statement that Associated Materials and Alside have posted about their product on their website. So much for standing behind lifetime maintenance-freedom and Warranty Just very sad I have always had faith in People to do good and be Honest, wow was I wrong about them. “ Alside Bay and Bow Windows are exceptionally energy-efficient, helping to lower your heating and cooling costs, increase the comfort of your home and even improve its resale valueAnd like all Alside products, they are designed for a lifetime of performance and maintenance-freedomOur Lifetime Limited Warranty* is your assurance that we stand behind this promise.” *** ***

We have received your latest correspondence from Mr***.There is no tracking info to provide. Once the unit is produced, we will ship it to the Alside facility by truck (not FedEx/UPS). As indicated previously they will contact him when they have received it.The Alside center is located at *** *** *** *** ** in Manchester, NH ***. They will provide their phone number when they contact the claimant. If there are any questions in the meantime phone calls should be directed to the corporate offices at 1-***. The local center will have no detail of this transaction until the product arrives. Our records only show the one charge to the credit card, but certainly a double charge would be inappropriate. We will investigate this matter further internally and will let the claimant know directly if a double transaction was processed/reversed

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/05/31) */
We have received your correspondence regarding the home of Mr***
Our records indicate the claim was initiated by the homeowner on 10/27/It was initially reviewed in mid-December and an email was sent to the homeowner at that
timeThat review did not yield conclusive results and additional evaluations were neededWe were exploring several different possibilities of repair options
This claim has taken longer to review than we would have preferred, but it is approvedWe just need to determine the proper remediation for the claimant and will continue to pursue this claim until it has been properly resolved under the terms of our warranty
If further information is needed, please let us know

(See attachment)This is the infromation requested by the Alside Warranty, The signed statement from *** ** *** will attest to the fact that the siding in fact was installed on the home when the house was being built from to the final installation on in on October 5th, The signed starement from *** *** stating that she and her husband ***(deceased) did in fact clean the house for *** from too when it was sold to usThe deed on the property showing that *** was the original and first owner of the property until selling it too us in July, Which will prove that we are in fact the second ownersl am also including information pertaining to the Apprasial of the home in in order to refinance it, which he didThat in itself should tell you that the siding was on the homeI will say that this is going to complete any information that the siding warranty would need to process our claimAs stated earlier I did the math and we feel that they owe us a minimum of $10,That is actually very very reasonable at their (according to them)responisibility of 40%1! If this does not satisify them and they refuse to pay what we feel is their responsibility then I will take this to the next level which will be as I have previously stated The Attorney General here in Helena, MT and they will I'm guessing turn it over to The Attorney General for the state of OhioI feel we have gone above and beyond to satisfy this warranty and I beleive that they will concur! Thank you Revdex.com for all of your assistance with this claim!

We have received your correspondence regarding the window installed on the home of Mr, ***. We spoke with the Window World location today and confirmed that they have already spoken with the homeowner and determined a date of 8/to visit his home and evaluate the circumstances
We encourage Mr*** to follow up with Window World as needed, but are very confident that they will continue to stay in touch with him as needed Window World is well known for their excellent customer service

We have received your newest correspondence regarding this claimant. As we indicated in our prior reply on 2/27, it would take about days to get the material shipped back out. That did occur with the product leaving our facility on 3/9. The contractor should have received it 3/or 3/and should then contact the claimant to set up the service.I expect the contractor would have reached out to the homeowner by now, but we will send them a reminder just in case.As before, we encourage the homeowner to contact our offices directly - they would have received this same reply on the phone. If we can be of further help, please let us know

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

I am rejecting this response because:Alside denied the claim prior to the door being removedNo one ever came to my house to inspect the door from alsideThey denied the claim based on photos not FACTSGrizzled window and doors gave me documentation stating the door frame is defectiveI asked several times for someone to come to my house and inspect the doorThey told me NO they don't make house call The door was removed and our floor was removed after the frame was deemed defective so my water damaged floor could be fixedI was them told by Eric that I need his permission to remove the doorHe then insulted my intelligence by stating he's not a psychiatrist Why he said that I have no clue He then transferred me to his manager I left a message and still to this date no return phone callThey denied warranty claim before the door was removed then changed there reasonThe frame is defective so it needs replaced

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/02/11) */
We have received your correspondence regarding the home of Ms***
We reached out to her on 2/to discuss this matter but have not heard back from her as of yetThere is still information missing which is preventing us from
reviewing her claimWe are hopeful we can get the needed info from her return phone call
If we are able to assist this claimant, her warranty would only provide the needed materialsLabor is not covered under her warranty termsFurther, if we are not able to ascertain the issues and appropriate remedy from the information submitted, she may be responsible to arrange an independent inspection to be done by a local contractor, at her cost, to finish gathering the needed info
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2016/02/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I returned the phone call they made to me on 2/I provided the information they asked forTabatha said it would be reviewed by Robin & if she needs more info she would call againI don't accept their response because nothing has yet been committed to
Final Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2016/03/01) */

An email was sent to the homeowner on 2/with our offerWe are willing to provide the needed materials, but under the applicable warranty, the homeowner is responsible for a portion of the costsIf she provides $we will order the three reported sashes and parts needed for the repair
If anything further is needed fom us, please let us know
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2016/03/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They want me to Pay $(70% of the cost of parts) + labor to fix my windows which supposedly have a lifetime guarantee
I am not willing to pay them even a penny because:
Their idea of life is yearsThe average life expectancy in USA is 70+ years not
There is a good chance I could pay for the parts, & labor only to find out the window is warped & the new parts don't fit or other complications, then I'll be out more money than I already am
3.I don't believe they are a very reputable company when I have been dealing with them since August 10,to get this resolvedIt wasn't until I notified the Revdex.com that I was actually sent an offer for resolution
My resolution is that they send me the $& I will put that towards the purchase of new windows from a reputable company

I am rejecting this response because:
I find it interesting that they were completely aware that I was the 2nd owner of the home from our initial phone call. They sent me the package out to fill out and send back to them that expressly states the information that they would need to process the claim, including proof of ownership (I have attached the forms for your review). They provided me no warranty on this until after notification of claim denial. It seems to me that they are looking to skirt responsibility and not stand behind their product. Of the windows that need replaced, there are only two that will need help of installers, I can replace all others myself, I just need the windows

I am rejecting this response because:
Window World came out as scheduled, and very quickly and easily adjusted the frames on the windows, and I am very pleased with Window World. I was not aware of the adjustment screws located under a removable plastic cover which allowed the frames to be adjusted and properly seal around the sashes. As Associated Materials is the manufacturer of the windows, and received pictures of the issue, it should have been a very simple fix and only taken a single response from Associated Materials saying what needed to be adjusted, or for them to tell me to contact Window World to have them come and adjust the frames, but this is not the case. I am quite happy with Window World, they have been nothing but professional, honest, and easy to work with. But my complaint is against Associated Materials, and they continue to be dishonest. To quote their latest response:"As we have indicated to the claimant previously - if they have additional concerns, we encourage them to reach out to the Window World store directly."This is a flat out lie. They did not direct me to Window World to have the issue resolved until after I contacted the Revdex.com, in fact they refused to respond to me until I filed this Revdex.com complaint, then all of a sudden they started talking to me. After all this, all they had to do is say, hey, we're sorry we messed up and we hope that Window World was able to solve the issue, but they couldn't even leave it there. The issue has been resolved, there is no further need for Associated Materials to contact me. Window World has performed wonderfully, but Associated Materials has failed miserably in being an honest company

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me My Question is I won't know if it's satisfactory until it's resolvedI'll be waiting for their answer , I resent what thy needed I'll wait for their response
