I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because: The Company claims that heat is the problem for the issue. The climate in Ohio is not like living close to the equator. Why is it that my home is the only one being affected in my subdivision? It's because the product does not contain enough UV protectorate in the run of siding that was manufactured and applied to my home. The manufacturing of this vinyl siding must have some irregularities in it in order to cause such a problem. I use to work at a plastic factory where companies would place orders like [redacted] and want certain levels of additives put into their product. This process must be carefully measured and put through an extruder machine to meet certain requirements set forth by these companies. The closest home to my problem areas of siding would be about 125 feet beside the house and 300 hundred feet from across the street, this is for the front of the house and the back half of the house is 350 feet away. How can solar heat affect the front and the back of a 2 story home facing north and south? I will not accept some you tube video explanation nor will I accept this heat exposure claim. This product can be flawed if the specifications are not proper regulated. The company is basing this on photos that I have taken and will not send a representative out to even look at the problem first hand. Thank You, [redacted]

[redacted]I was never contacted by your group about a response, the only email I received was the one stated they forwarded this claim to the Akron office.  The company has done nothing to resolve our issue that is why I contacted the Revdex.com.  I do not want this claim closed.  Associated Materials—Gentek has done nothing to investigate our issue with their siding.  What do we need to do?  I have seen that they had a class action law suit but this whole time we were asking for help no one ever mentioned it.From what I have read online we had the siding mentioned in the law suit.Let me know what recourse we have, I have written the company asking for their legal representative but have gotten no response. Please help us resolve this issue.  Our 10 year old house looks like 50 years old.Kind regards,[redacted]

The business has been trying to contact the consumer for the last three weeks.  Because of the age of the windows, the dimensions cannot be found through the serial numbers.  The business needs the actual sizes found on each window on its warranty sticker.  Please provide this...

information so the business can proceed with the warranty claim.

I am rejecting this response because: Matt T[redacted] a Manager and Representative of Associated Materials told me directly over the phone that if the glass in the door had broke in the manner I had stated which would be due to a defect that he would indeed cover the door under the warranty. He stated that in order to determine if the glass could break in this manner that he would have to talk with his engineering department and get back to me. Below is the last email he sent me which verifies the conversation we had over the phone."Mr. [redacted], I had discussed your claim with engineering some weeks ago. They admitted that it was possible that an extreme temperature shift could cause a unit to shatter without an external force, however that would then fall into weatherization which is also not covered under warranty.  As discussed previously glass breakage is also not covered on patio doors due to the fact that they are a tempered glass product (many of our other products do offer it).  So, your issue is not under warranty. I’d be happy to sell you a sash, but unfortunately we don’t offer that service through the corporate office. You would need to contact an authorized dealer to order a new sash or pay a glass company to come and install a new insulated glass unit." end of email. Now all of a sudden he will not cover it because of weatherization? this to me is the definition of a man and a company with no integrity and who's word means absolutely nothing. No wonder he never responded back to me until I once again had to contact the company and complain. He even states in the email he talked to his engineering department weeks ago so why no call back?

I am rejecting this response because: as indicated by the respondent they have denied the claim based on the notion that the siding did not passed their test and as I have stated multiple time there should not be a test needed as the faded material is a apparent to the eye without a need for a lab test I have requested their lab results multiple times involved my attorney  who also has made the request for the test results to this day I have never received them this business refuses to accept responsibility and that should not be acceptable nor tolerated by any consumers

I am rejecting this response because: I did respond to this matter earlier today.  I do not agree with the business response because it is not acceptable to require a homeowner to remove a section of siding and send in to be analyzed for the following reasons:1.  I am not an installer of siding.  I do not have the knowledge to properly remove a section without damaging others.2.  The smallest section that can be removed without cutting into the siding is approximately 3 feet in length.  This exposes my underlayment to weather and insects for an extended period of time.3.  Additionally, this is on the front of my house and not in an inconspicuous area, therefore, the aesthetics of the home will be compromised.4.  This company has field agents in the areas in which they sell their siding.  There are portable/hand held color meters that any one of these agents could use on site to determine the degree of delta E from original color shade.

We have received your correspondence about the siding installed on the home of [redacted] (our claim# [redacted]). Our initial request to this claimant included information relating to the original installation of the siding – when was it done? And who was it done for?  She has provided this...

information in a letter to us but provided no documentation as evidence.  The warranty which applies to this siding is prorated to the 2nd owner, meaning the claimant would pay a percentage of the costs of any approval issued – that percentage is determined by the year of installation.  Further, the warranty would not transfer to the 3rd owner at all.  As such, we must gather information from the claimant to verify that she is indeed the 2nd owner of the home and when the original siding was installed.  Without this information, we would not be able to complete our review. Upon receipt of this information from the claimant, we will complete our review of their claim and offer any assistance provided by the warranty. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

I am rejecting this response because:Every single time I sent "required" information to your company you came up with something else that was required.  This response talks about a required affidavit.  This was only revealed to me after I sent the previous information that I was required to send.  I can only wonder what would be required after I would send an affidavit. I strongly suspect that you have finally come upon something that I actually cannot give to you.  good for you, too bad for me... you're good at this and have honed your skill at being able to avoid action on your part.  You wear people out, you know that eventually you will get people to quit "bothering" you.   end of my response.

We have received your correspondence regarding the windows installed on the home of Mr. **.Our files, under claim# [redacted], indicate that balances were ordered and shipped out from our North Carolina facility on 9/12/16.  After being informed this package never arrived, we re-ordered these...

balances and again requested shipment to the homeowner directly.Unfortunately the North Carolina plant is a little backed up as a result of the local flooding, but these are currently expected to ship out on 10/28 (and should arrive the week after). We encourage the homeowner to contact us if they are not received, or if there is any other problem with the shipment.  ([redacted].If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know.

I am rejecting this response because: The company sent me an email Homeowner Parts Cost Estimate but it contained errors:1.  My address was incorrect, I live in Abington MA, the Estimate listed my town as Avington. 2.  My claim is for 6 windows, 6 top glass ad 6 bottom glass.  The Estimate was written in error for 3 top glass and 3 bottom glass.  I need 6 top glass 6 bottom glass.  I phoned the company and spoke to an agent named David on March 14, 2018.  David said he will make the corrections and forward the corrections to the department that handles emails.  My initial claim was filed April 20, 2017 almost one year ago!

I am rejecting this response because:You were given only part of the information from the company. The email of 10/19/2016 was never sent to the correct email for us. Additionally, we are very concerned with their choice of company to work with. I have tried to research [redacted] Inc. They have no internet foot print. A company with their name and a different phone number it listed in a yellow pages search, however when we tried to call that number is has been disconnected. Susie left a message with my husband and gave him a phone number for a crew chief, we called and received no response. We received an email from Lynne T[redacted] claiming to have received a work order. It stated they are working in MN, WI, and MI on jobs previously scheduled. They have 20 jobs previously scheduled in KS and hope to get to us sometime. It seems strange to us after being strung along for almost a year once we mentioned lawyer and Revdex.com they instantly gave enough attention to our claim to make it seem they were doing their job. We are concerned if either company [redacted] Inc or [redacted] really exist.

We have received your latest correspondence regarding the ** home. As indicated previously the product was expected to ship on 11/2.  We invite the homeowner to track their package on the fedex website.  tracking number -  [redacted].The most recent update indicates it should be delivered today. If anything further is needed from us, please let us know.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. While it was conveyed to me wrong and the information they provided was not clear nor was the return call from them made within 24 hrs rather in 36-48 hours later, I accept their response. I will not however be doing business with them in the future.

I am rejecting this response because: The contractor [redacted] has been in correspondence with this company and provided the original bill of sale to them. As stated by them I submitted all required info to include photos and proof of ownership in a timely manner to them. After this was provided they required the a bill of sale that was provided by the contractor. He has emailed them as well on my behalf as he cc's me and there has been no response. I do not accept their response as there is no doubt that these are their windows/products, that I am the original purchaser and owner and the contractor has provided proof that he installed them. I am requesting that they honor their Gu

We have received your correspondence regarding the [redacted] home.  A claim was filed ([redacted]) and approved.  A representative from our office spoke with the homeowners on 5/18 and it was further discussed at that time - which side of each window was needed.  (These windows have left...

and right sides).  However, the windows in question are no longer produced for the public, they have been discontinued.  We can still produce them to fulfill the warranty claim, but not in 2 weeks time.  Our estimate for this production is about 4 weeks out.  We recognize the homeowner need to move this along, but we can not expedite the production of these units further than that time frame.  They will be shipped to the local supply center in Bloomington, MN.We should have a specific date planned in about a week and the homeowner is welcome to call in at any time for that update. If anything further is needed from us, please let us know.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11675459, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I was told that the company has made new business changes and the people that I worked with from March 7 thru May 2016 are no longer employed. This would explain why the first three months why nothing was done. Anyway, I am just glad that the new replacement window has been reordered and will be installed shortly.Again, thanks for everyone's help, and hats off to Eric W[redacted] who made it happen.   [redacted]

We have received your correspondence regarding the windows installed on the home of the [redacted] family.  There are a few concerns in here so I will try to separate my answers. Coverage availability - There is no coverage availability for a 2007 Alpine product once transferred....

That warranty is not transferrable and as such no coverage is available for the 2nd owner. Coverage options - Over the years, product warranties change.  As such, today's warranty, as referenced on our website, does transfer to the 2nd owner, but not the 3rd.  Some products have different transferrability provisions in different years of production.  Since these windows were installed in 2007, clearly today's warranty does not apply to them. Confusion - It is regrettable if information was conveyed that affected actions taken in such a way that it has negatively affected this family.  While we do not doubt that a call occurred between one of our representatives and the prior owners, we have no record of that call available.  However, our reps would know that an Alpine product from 2007 would not transfer and would have indicated as such.  Accordingly, we can only assume that the information provided to our rep at that time may have been estimated and perhaps the caller indicated they were installed in a different year wherein the transfer would have been conceivable.  (That particular warranty become transferable in late 2008, so if the caller was not sure about the year - they may have guessed 2008 or 2009).  Further, we have other products which would have been transferrable in 2007 so if there was any indication from the caller that perhaps a different type of window was installed - that would have affected our reps's response as well.  Again, we can only make assumptions regarding that call since it is not available to us. Regardless of how this miscommunication occurred, we apologize for any part that we may have played in it.  However, the fact remains that the warranty which covers this product is non-transferrable.  We will not be able to assist this claimant with their claim and must maintain our denial. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

I am writing to you regarding above mentioned complaint against Associated Materials, LLC of Akron, OH. The business promised to send the parts to the local service provider and fix the broken window balances and have the local installer evaluate why and how the window frame was broken. The local provider visited my house a few weeks ago and found that the parts shipped by manufacturer were of incorrect size and that the breaking of the balance (which was defective) caused the window frame to crack due the force it exerted on the frame. The installer wrote back to the manufacturer asking them to send the right parts and the window frame for replacement. Both the installer and I have not heard back from the manufacturer yet as to when they would be able to send out the parts to fix my windows.Could you kindly reopen the case and reach out to the manufacturer to close this item as soon as possible? Thanks for your help.[redacted]

We have received your correspondence regarding the home of Mr. [redacted]. Our files indicate that claim# [redacted] was opened 3/31/17 and a packet was sent to him that day.He replied (on 4/13) with attachments to an email in a format that we could not open and we asked him to resend on 4/18.He...

resent the photos on 4/28 but never resent any of the forms or proof documents.  We have no record of any contact from him since. His claim was closed for lack of reply on 5/19. We'd be happy to re-activate his claim and process it, but we must still ask that the other documents be resent in a readable format.  All we have to date is three pictures. He is welcome to email us or contact our offices at 1-800-489-1144 for further assistance. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

We have received your correspondence regarding the home of [redacted].As indicated by the homeowner there are two services remaining on the home - the install of a smaller unit and a part/repair on another.  The parts have not yet shipped for the 2nd repair listed, so the crew is indeed...

waiting for the needed product to complete both services at one time. The needed parts will actually ship by FedEx to the homeowner's address directly as soon as they are available.  We anticipate this will be less than 2 weeks.  After receipt, our chosen contractor, UTS, will schedule the services and complete the claim.  As further indicated by the homeowner, there is no current tech in Yuma, so UTS will need to schedule one from another area.  This will not prevent the job from being completed, but can cause additional delays.  They are aware of the age of this job and will do what they can to promptly schedule after delivery. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
