Deceived and charged without my knowledge/consent
I signed up for a free trial of their anti-wrinkle cream on 12/06/17 and paid the $5.79 shipping. I just saw that I was charged $87.50 on 12/23/17 for a monthly subscription which I did not sign up for. I called to cancel the auto-shipment program, which again I did not sign up for, and I would like to be refunded the $87.50 that was deducted from my account without my knowledge and consent. This company was not straightforward and I feel that I was deceived and misled when I signed up for the free trial, thinking I would only be charged for the shipping costs of that free trial.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be refunded the $87.50 that was deducted from my account on 12/23/17 without my knowledge and consent.

I ordered two items from this business on a trial basis. I received the items yesterday (12/27/17) via USPS and the package and items were opened.
I ordered two items from this business on a trial basis. I received the items yesterday (12/27/17) via USPS and the package and items were opened. I called AvanSkinLabs to inform them of the situation and cancel all future orders that may be billed after the trial period since I am unable to try the product and was told that the account will not be canceled until they receive the returned items. So, essentially I paid to have items shipped and I'm unable to use and now have to pay to ship it back possibly to sell another unsuspecting consumer the same tampered product. I have also filed a complaint with USPS.

Desired Outcome

Refund of my shipping charges and permission to throw out the tainted items. And, immediate cancellation of any future orders or charges to my credit card.

You may close this case. The company has responded and rectified the issue to my satisfaction. Thank you for the great work that tou do!

I bought a sample of an anti-aging cream. I have bought things like this before and always make sure to read the fine print to see if I am buying a subscription. NOWHERE did I read this was a subscription or that I would need to cancel within a certain time period. I got charged $87.50 from the same company 20 days later. I reported it to my credit card company, my card has now been locked and I'll be receiving a new one so good luck to them to try to scam me again.

There was an advertisement on the internet for a sample of a wrinkle cream and eye serum that reduced the bags under the eyes. The offer was a free sample of both with a shipping charge of $5.79 and $4.87, respectively. I ordered the products on 12-6-17 and the total of $10..66 was charged to my credit card on 12-8-17. I received the products but have not used them yet due to the Holidays.

There were additional charges on my credit card on 12-26 17, for $85.20 and another charge on 12-27-17,for $87.50; totaling $172.70. .

I called on 12-28 to question the charges and was advised by the representative Max that they don't send out samples and, because there was a 14-day return policy, she could only offer me a refund of $120.00 and I had to return the products. I asked her to speak to a supervisor to authorize my full refund. She said she would but I was then cut off. I called again and spoke to Naomi who read the notes that Max had placed in the record. she told me she could refund $130.00 and I told her that was not acceptable and to discuss it with her supervisor. She asked me if the seal had been broken on the merchandise and I told her I did remove it but did not use any of the products.i

Naomi cane back and told me her supervisor had authorized the refund of $172.70 and I could keep the products.and that I would receive the refund on my credit card in 3 to 5 days and gave me a reference number in the event that I had to call again on the matter. I requested an e-mail stating that I was receiving the refund of $172.70 and that I was advised that I could keep the products I received so that there would be no misunderstanding. Naomi told me she could not do that because the e-mails were automatically generated. I told her humans can generate e-mails and she hung up on me.

This transaction took over an hour between the 2 calls and I was hung up on twice..

I will follow up to make sure that I receive my refund of $172.79

.

Sent to a website with no terms and conditions, but customer is bound to them.
I placed an order through www.avanderm-wrinkle.com on December 7th. On December 24th, I was charged $87.50 to my debit card for the item for something that was listed as just 5.95 for shipping and handling, under order number XXXXXX. The emails also say nothing about these terms an conditions. Come to find out, they have two websites. Their main one, which has the terms and conditions listed, and then the trial website, which does not. The issue with that is everything, even google searches and facebook advertisements, takes you to the trial website before the main website. When I called them and brought this to their attention, and asked for a full refund, they were not able to solve my problem, and brought no attention to the fact that they have two websites. This is a deceitful practice, and I feel as though I've been taken advantage of, with nothing that I can do other than allow them to take my money. When I told them I would be filing this complain, they said there was nothing they could do to help me, and would not issue the partial credit. Its a hard sale practice, and a bully tactic; one that I don't appreciate.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund and for them to change their website. People should know what they're getting into before they place their order, instead of being blindsided with a random charge. I accepted a partial refund of $65, but that's not enough. I did nothing wrong, and shouldn't have to settle with that, and being bullied by a company.

I ordered a "product sample," and agreed to pay $5.79. Did not agree to receive product beyond original sample. Got billed for more product.
Read an online testimonial from two televisions stars. Placed an online order for a sample. Agreed to pay less than $10 for sample. I received a credit card statement this week, and $87.50 was charged to my account by that purveyor on 11/15/17. Today, I received a package from the purveyor. Immediately phoned and was told they would close my "account." Told me that I could mail the product back to them (but I would have to pay the postage, and there would be a restocking charge). Or, I could keep the product, and they would give me $65 credit on my card. What a scam! I have to absorb the $22.50 difference in cost. I never agreed to any membership. I never read anything about cancelling some membership within a certain amount of days in order to stop additional deliveries and charges. I am a conscientious shopper. I would have never taken a membership in some club like that.

Desired Outcome

The company did not have permission to send me any more product. I should have had a full credit for $87.50.

Ms., When you order on our website you must agree to the terms and conditions which state that after 14 days + 4 days of shipping you will be charged for the bottles if you do not call to cancel and return the product. Per terms and conditions all used products are non-returnable or refundable once past the 14-day trial period. The customer is made aware of all charges throughout the ordering process. Prior to fully purchasing customers must acknowledge the trial period time frame (14 days from date of order and 4 days for shipping, a total of 18 days), shipping charges ($5.79 wrinkle cream and/or $4.87 eye serum per product), recurring charges ($87.50 wrinkle cream and/or $85.20 eye serum - unless offered a promotional price). Customers are fully informed and must agree to the cancellation policy along with terms and conditions. During the ordering process customers must agree to all terms and conditions two (2) times with electronic signature. The customer receives an order confirmation as soon they submit the order which contains the customer support phone number as well as the back of the bottle which have the company phone number if need be. Should the customer have concerns with delayed shipping or products not received and cancellation they are required to contact us so we can take action on the account. The trial started from the time you placed the order on 10/28/17 until 11/15/17. Because your account was not cancelled, you were billed for a new shipment of the product on 12/15/17. You called to cancel your account on 12/22/17.

A CSR have processed a courtesy refund of $65.00 (for the charges on 12/05/17) on 12/22/17. Since you have already spoken to and has filed a dispute/chargeback with your bank on 02/14/18. Once we receive a Dispute we are no longer available to process a refund or additional adjustment since our account is frozen with the corresponding customer. The bank is the only one who can call and allow us access to approve a refund or not. If you have further questions please feel free to call me directly at 813-518-8855 my name is Jesse and I am here to help!

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I dispute the information that was provided above. When I placed my order, there was no mention of a 14-day trial period. Had there been such, I would have made a notation on my calendar. I do not recall providing my electronic signature two times. The offer was presented in a very casual way, and none of this legal information was offered.

False Advertising, False Representation, Leaving information out of Advertising like the time limitations for direct collection of money for samples
On Dec. 9th I saw an article about Matthew McConaughey's health and how he was recovering. The article quickly went to his Wife's Mother dieing of Cancer or something, and how he and his Wife were designing this skin cream for his Mother In Law and now releasing it to the public. All natural products and organic (Blah, Blah, Blah). So I ordered the "Free Sample, 30 day supply" for shipping costs of $4.97 for the face cream and $5.97 for the Eye Cream, (both items came in the same box). There was no mention that it was a 14 day trial period, or that you needed to send the product back (who does that?) and that the product would have to be un opened for it to be credited for the whole amount!!! So, today Dec. 27th I noticed that my checking account was being debited for $85.20 for the Face Cream and $87.20 for the Eye cream. When I called to complain that the product was not in fact All Natural or Organic and I would not put these products on my face, the woman (Rose? I think was her name) Said that I had gone past the 14 days to cancel. And I said, the 9th + 14 days = 23rd which was last Sat. then Sunday the 24th and Monday 25th (Christmas!) So here I am 3 days off from the last day with 3 closed days in between. She didn't care, she said she could refund $65. for each charge and that's all. So after our phone call, I look up the webpage and it says 18 days to cancel (4 days given for shipping product back) which would have been today... So I ended up paying $42. for both items, that I won't get and $11 for the first payment to order so I'm out $53. for trying a product. This company is a scam, and it prays on elderly and humanitarian people. This makes me so mad that people think they can make up stories that lure people in to take money, do false advertising, and get away with it. This information needs to get out more publicly, so others don't fall for their tricks.

Desired Outcome

I request the $53. to be refunded and that they no longer advertise using false statements, and making up stories that draw people in to their scam.

This rip-off company promotes free sample just pay shipping. Once they have the credit card number they start charging for other item without consent.
[email protected] 12-6-17 order. Order Number: XXXXXX A month later the charges are around 180 dollars. I canceled the order but the charges continue. The items have nor been opened.

Desired Outcome

Have the business shut down/business license revocation This also applies to the satellite companies in other states.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I suggested you try their product. Just watch and you will see a lot of other dissatisfied internet users. Or just look at the net and you will see a lot of other complaints just like mine.
If you do not stop them then you are complacent also.
Have a good day
Goodbye and stay in Florida

I responded to an add to pay shipping to try the product. As I was going through the checkout process, I apparently also paid shipping for a different product, and it signed me up for a trial membership to some "partner" website. 3 Hours later when I realized what had happened, I called to cancel the entire order, but was told that I wasn't able to do that because the order had already been processed. I was also told that it was in the T&C's that this was a 14-day trial of the product to start a subscription, and that I would have to return the product in order to cancel my account - still paying for shipping, of course. What a poor representation of a Shark Tank product!! They should be ashamed.

signed up to get a FREE trial for the eye serum plus wrinkle cream and paid the 2 separate shipping cost which was about 10 dollars total.
signed up to get a FREE trial for the eye serum plus wrinkle cream and paid the 2 separate shipping cost which was about 10 dollars total. Got a notification today that 85.20 was trying to be charged to the credit card I had paid the shipping with. WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR AUTHORIZATION. I called and had them block the company. Then I called Avanderm and talked to them, they told me I had 2 weeks to have cancelled with them or they would charge me the total for both products. Then the said we can offer you a discount and you can pay 36.20 and cancel my account. I paid it just to get rid of them. If I see anymore charges from these people I'm going to lose it. SCAM- BILLED 85.20 WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. DO NOT get this product and deal with this scamming company.

Desired Outcome

nothing

Totally fraudulent and misrepresentation
Husband bought "free trial" products and we learned this was a fulfillment operation (SCAM). Called phone number 888-649-3646 on 12/19 and requested refund...not possible according to Jasmine. By the way there was nothing on their website to indicate there would be recurring charges! Plan to return product and they gave me a Return Authorization #:XXXXXXXXX. Will be mailing to them on 12/20/2017. These people need to be put out of business. Hubby thought he was buying a product made by Joanna Gaines (again false advertising). Will also report this to Georgia's Secretary of State,Brian Kemp, and ask the FTC be involved in these fraudulent companies so they can no longer do business as reputable companies and use celebrity names to promote their business, which is totally fraudulent and misrepresentation.

Desired Outcome

Reimbursement for the "trial products." We should not incur their shipping charges as THEY misrepresented their products and did not make consumers or potential consumers aware of recurring cost and shipment.

The skin product is advertised as free trial- just pay shipping. Product came, a small instruction om LABEL, no printed info on product or co info in pkg. Did not explain that you can use & if dissatisfied can return within 5 day. After that you are billed for product. I presume that you would be billed and send product routinely I found out because I called for more info. My concern that this product is marketed to older women. You are not getting a sample but trial offer. No info on details, or time line. There is cost & hassle sending it back or keeping it to the price of $36.30.
This can be very confusing & costly. Very misleading. The writing on the container for usage, etc is so small it can't be read. Info only on label. Someone could toss the label out with the box and would have no info for use & company info
Very misleading & could be costly to the purchaser ( probably older women)

Desired Outcome

Modification/discontinuance of That they are made responsible for a the people they have mislead or held to a higher standard in their advertising & information

Deceptive internet advertising of trail offer of AvanDermNu Anti Aging Cream for $5.79. Avan's terms and conditions were never displayed in this offer
Original order for AvanDermNu Anti Aging Cream was placed on 11/14/17 and my credit card was charged $5.79 per the internet order. When I checked my credit card account, there was an additional charge of $87.50 entered on 12/04/17 by Avan Skin Labs. If you accept this trial offer, Avan sets up a subscription order and charges you $87.50 every month for a shipment of this cream.
On 12/04/17 I contacted Avan and talked to Liz. She stated that I did not cancel the order within 14 days of receiving the order as stated in the Terms and Conditions. I told her that there were no T&C's stated in the internet offer. She disagreed with my statement. When I stated that I would contact the State Attorney General's office, Liz offered to cancel the subscription and refund $50.00. I told her this was not agreeable. Liz countered with a refund of $65.00. I said that I wanted the total amount, $87.50 refunded. Liz did state that she cancelled the monthly subscription referencing Cancellation No.XXXXXX.
I then contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge. The agent asked if I had first contacted Avan. I replied, yes. The agent was evidently very familiar with Avan. He stated that I should request documentation of the cancellation and promised refund. He also stated that I should get the refund before disputing the $87.50 charge. He said he would suspend the dispute request for two weeks to allow Avan to process the $65.00 refund.
I immediately called Avan back and talked to Quinn. She stated that they could not issue any refunds without getting a dispute letter from the credit card company. She did agree and sent an email stating the cancellation of the monthly orders but never mentioned the refund.
On 12/14/17, I contact the credit card company and requested that the disputed charge claim be reinstated. They agreed to do this.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of $87.50. I also would like Avan to change their deceptive advertising tactics.

Please review opediahas a very accurate review of the invisible cost , refunds, ingredients, etc, u name it they do it all AND, its muddled.

Nov17,2017 could be order date. Refund and return not stated, ingredients not shown. Only after ordering they will show another page not attached stating a policy.
In fact in a prior complaint the sales rep stated the sleep pillAvinol was a tablet, ITS BIG BLUE CapSULE,
The sleepin bill, Similar Complaints there.
Looking to full refund , remove all my contact info from there data base .

Desired Outcome

Refund

Advertised a FREE product. Site said nothing about a subscription. They direct you to a site that DOES show the trial info. Bait and switch.
They advertise a free trial sized product and you only pay shipping. The click site I purchased through said NOTHING about this being a subscription (11/21/17). I would not have continued with the purchase had I known this. When my credit card was charged (pending charge 12/8/17), I called to cancel. They said the charge was for the product I had already received. If I wanted to return it, there would be a restocking fee. As a "courtesy", they would only charge the restocking fee and allow me to keep the product. No other choice I took the $140 credit against $172.70 in charges. This is BEYOND deceptive!

Desired Outcome

I want a FULL refund of the charges made to my credit card on 12/9/17. They are processing a credit of $140. I want the additional $32.70. This company should be shut down for deceptive practices. I read the fine print on everything and NOTHING was said about a 14-day subscription trial.

Our scam said that it was a 18 day free trial if we paid shipping and handling for the two creams/serums, which was $11. Tried to cancel the free trial when I called as they said on the phone that they would be charging me the full price of $170 for the two products in a matter of days. But they now say that you cannot cancel it...you have to ship your used creams back. I replied that I would hope you aren't reusing the remaining creams in the jars and the agent did not respond. So now, I have to pay even more in order to cancel the "free trial". Our ad said it was the shark tank cream, which is untrue as well.

I ordered a trail from AvanDermnu on 11/13,I paid s&h. The company tried to charge my credit card twice since then & will not let me cancel.
The website I ordered from was
https://avanderm-wrinkle.com/wstconunoww/index.php?AFFID=3278&click_id=170811122... /> It does not say anything about needing to cancel or being charge after the trail. On 12/1 and 12/8 (simplydermwrinkle.net) charged my account. I have tried to cancel, but they will not let me. They are saying I need to pay $19.87 and $37.75 for the two products, or they will send my information to collections. They were very unprofessional and threating. This company has very unethical practices.

Desired Outcome

I would like them to remove my information from their system and stop trying to charge my account.

Misleading ads cost me $52.70. Have not received the refund as of 12/08/2017.
10/29/2017: ordered OPRAH sponsored online ad for 2 skin cream products, trial size $4.87 and $5.79. Products shipped & arrived. C.C.statement charged the two amounts above plus $85.20 and $87.50 from ADEYE247.NET SUPPORT @ADEYE NY and THUMBER*DERMAWRINKLE. Phoned 888-659-3645 to cancel charges & get refund. Cathlea informed cancellation of charges would follow in email. Refund of only $120. Price of $52.70 is for the 2 skin cream products, that the "trial size" costs above were shipping charges. MISLEADING Told her I would fight this problem.

FYI: "Hello Ms ***, A CSR have cancelled your account and processed a courtesy refund of $60.00 each for the charges on 11/16/17 after you opted to just keep the products." I NEVER OPTED TO JUST KEEP THE PRODUCTS. in my original complaint, I wrote: I offered to return the cream unused but was told to keep. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE WORDING OF THE COMPANY.

AvanSkinLabs Response • Feb 26, 2018

Ms. When you called on 12/06/18 the CSR offered you a $60.00 credit since you are keeping the products and it was mentioned that products are no longer sealed so return was not an option. To resolve this we will issue the remainder refund once unused or sealed products are received.

On March 5, 2018, my credit card showed a credit of $27.50. AvanSkinLabs have yet to make a full refund.

False advertising by saying their product is free and all I have to do is pay for shipping. They then charged my credit card for $173.20 total.
In October, 2017 I saw and advert for a FREE sample of AvanDermNu Anti-Aging Cream and AvanDermNu Advance Eye Serum. All I need to do is pay for shipping (which was around $15) and I would receive my FREE Anti-Aging Cream and Eye Serum. I received the "FREE samples" and then this month, on December 6, 2017 I received another box with the same product!

I looked at my credit card statement and saw that they had actually charged me $85.70 and then $87.50 for the 2 boxes of the products they sent to me that I did NOT order.

When I called them on December 7, 2017, they said that it is my fault because when I agreed to receive their "sample" and because I didn't call or cancel my "order", I am then liable because I "signed-up" to continue to receive their products every month by not cancelling. I did NOT see this clause anywhere when I gave my credit card info online to receive my FREE sample. I signed up for what I thought was a FREE sample and later discovered additional unauthorized and/or unexpected charges to my credit card for additional amounts.

The first woman I spoke to at AvanSkinLabs, Zee, said that she will credit me $120. I called back a second time and said I want a FULL refund. The second woman, Stacy, said she would refund me another $20, to make the total refund $140. I argued with her and told her I want my full amount refunded (which is $173.20). She told me: "you don't understand, you agreed to this." I did not agree to purchase any further products from AvanSkinLabs. They are taking unauthorized funds from credit card account.

I want my money back. This is a scam and is not FREE like they advertised.

The first woman, Zee, said my cancellation number is 586075. The second woman, Stacy, did not give me any number, only told me to look for my return on my next credit card statement. I want proof that they have refunded me my money.

I asked to speak to a manager and I was told that there was no manager available to talk to me.

The ship date of the first package was 10/16/2017. Here are numbers on the package:

Desired Outcome

1) I want a full refund. 2) I want people to be alerted of this SCAM.

Requested free sample. Received $85.20 charge to Credit Card which was used to pay for shipping.
AvanSkinLabs's Internet add for false advertising scammed me by indicating free sample of "Aging Cream and Eye Serum" with only shipping costs. AvanSkinLabs charged my credit card for $85.20 for the sample. Their contact, "Brad", indicated that I was liable for return and restocking fees if I wanted to return the product. I indicated that I had not authorized any charges other than shipping fees to my credit card. Brad indicated that the contract had a 14 day return policy clause. I indicated that I had not seen this clause online. I did not sign a contract because I made the "free sample" transaction on my cellphone.

Desired Outcome

That AvanSkinLabs give me a credit for the $85.20 they charged without my authorization.
