E Mail re survey from Comcast, completed given free prize paid P @P from bank account and find over $170 taken from my a/c not authorized - scam.
I received an e mail supposedly from Comcast asking me to complete a survey. After completing I was given a free gift for completing you just needed to pay P @ P I agreed to nothing else and did not sign anything. Received the wrinkle cream and eye serum from Avanskinlabs. No paper work inside box only a slip of what was in box no letter nothing and now I find that this company have taken out of my bank account over $170 without my permission. Never had any paperwork telling me about this never signed anything. Rang company and she said she would give me $120 back which I told her was not enough and that Inwanted it all back and would take it further. Received e mails to tell me the order had been cancelled but no mention of any money back. This is a scam and this company want banning from doing business this way by conning older people with a prize then finding they have been charged with something they did not order or ask for. Using bank account details when ordering something should be secure and safe and this is not, money has been stolen out of my back account.

Desired Outcome

Refund and no further contact from this business to any online site so other people don't have the same issue.

Customer Response • Mar 01, 2018

Just to let you know re the above claim, my bank managed to get a full refund for the above claim which I am happy they were able to do this and get the refund back hope other people have had the same success.

Thank you

After ordering Lumidaire antiaging face cream I continue to receive the product even after I was told that it was not an auto-ship product.
on 9-13-17 I ordered one face cream @ $4.95(S&H fee)as a trial offer using my credit card via telephone # provided in the online advertisement.Over the next week I received about 6 ph calls from the company attempting to get me to purchase the eye serum as well for $1.95 trial (S&H fee). I agreed to purchase that item. When I asked THREE times whether these 2 items would be automatically BILLED & MAILED to me monthly without my agreement I was told adamantly "NO, you won't. Just give us a call if you like the product and we'll send you more". In late September I received both the cream & serum and was billed $89.71 and $89.77, in October and November I received both products WITHOUT MY CONSENT, yet again, for the amounts of $94.66 & $91.72 (x2 for Oct & Nov). I researched the ph# then called them Dec 5, 2017 at 9:50 AM (eastern time). When I relayed this information to "Jessica" she apologized but said that it was indeed a recurring shipment and that I would have to cancel it to avoid having more shipped. When I told her to cancel it she did waive the cancellation fee ( REALLY?, a cancellation fee for something that I was told was NOT a on-going subscription). She sent me 2 cancellation numbers (one for each product)thru my email address.

Desired Outcome

I would like all of my fees (except the initial trial fees of $4.95 and $1.95) returned to me. I specifically asked the consultant 3 times on the phone during the very initial order if this was going to be an automatic shipment/billing and I was told emphatically NO. Yet I received 3 more months worth of product at the total cost of $552.24. In addition they need to be honest and not lie to a customer when direct questions are presented to them about the product.

I paid $5.87 for shipping for a free trial. I read EVERYTHING on the website. There were NO terms or agreements, nothing about being accessed an $87.50 fee a month later. BEWARE of this company. STAY away from this company! I was offered a

I came across an ad on Facebook for a trial / free use of a eye and moisturizer product for FREE, only requiring a shipping fee of around $4.00 each.

To Revdex.com:

Re: Avan Skin Labs

On or around October 1, I came across an ad on Facebook for a trial / free us of two eye cream products which I ordered and agreed to paying a shipping fee only for about $4.00 each. They sent an email confirming the order and payment due of about $8.00. No other information on the email which I still have and can send to you if needed.

I received both products in the mail on October 8.
It was the two products in a box with a bill for the shipping order only. No other literature, details or fine print about the products or the order, just the amount billed to my credit card.

I paid the shipping fee to "Beauty Eye" as part of my October credit card fees.

I used the product and thought is was ok, but was not planning to re-order. I threw the box away and figured if I needed to get back in touch with the company, I could respond to their email.

Note - Again, in the email, there was no notice, warning or fine print that I had a certain amount of time to use and then return the product OR that I would automatically be charged and sent both products on a monthly basis for the full amount. I had no intention of doing so, nor if I had known that, I would have never tried the "free samples" in the first place.

On 11/25, I was alerted by our credit card company (Chase Visa) to what appeared to be Fraudulent charges for:
1) $87.50
2) $85.20

I had not approved either of these transactions and asked them to provide the number of the merchant for me to call them and asked my credit card company o keep the charges as pending and I would call Avan Skin Labs to decline the charges that I did not approve.

First, I called and spoke to a representative, who accused me of being "rude". I asked to speak to his Supervisor and he said that no management was there.

He agreed to cancel shipping the products going forward and my "subscription", which again, I never authorized.

He gave me two options since unbeknownst to me I would be receiving the products this week. Again, I did not order or authorize this transaction.

Option 1) Keep the product. They would give me a $100 credit. However, I would still be out $72.70 that I never authorized.

Option 2) Return the product. They would give me a $70 credit, but charge a $15.00 and $17.00 restocking fee for both. Therefore, total credit would be $38.00

I opted for Option !, however, made it clear that I was not paying the $72.70.

My husband then called and talked to a women who was much more reasonable, however, still stuck to the same script providing the same options. He asked to speak to her supervisor. She put him on hold and when she came back after 10 minutes, said that we could return the product yet they could not change the restocking fees totaling $30.00 as it was an automatic charge when returned.

She said we could keep the product and she would credit our card another $30.00 to add to the $100 credit. Total credit $130.00. However, we would still be charged $42.07, which is still unacceptable. She said it was the best that she could do.

I called Chase Visa back who said I should call back in 3-5 business days once the its posted to dispute the transaction. We plan to do so. Additionally, I wanted to formally report it to the Revdex.com, as I am sure this is not the first compliant. They must have scammed hundreds to thousands of people and it's unacceptable. They need to cease and desist these unethical and illegal business practices.

Please email or call me with any questions.

Thank you,

Desired Outcome

To investigate my claim and others who are being misled and deceived by this promotional "free" offer. They need to be called on their unethical business practices that are deceptive and not transparent. They should not ever be allowed to take advantage of the consumer in this manner. We should be able to dispute the additional $42.00 from our credit card, but if not, would enlist your support.

I contacted them after receiving fraud alert from bank. Called them to cancel and was told it was done. They didn't do it, took money out. overdrafts
I had to call twice and still nothing fixed. Have cancellations numbers for both times. Caused overdrafts. The first cs was very rude. The lady today told me nothing had been done, there was no need for the money to come out of my account. This company doesn't deserve to be in business. On 10/10/17 I signed up for a trial of anti-wrinkle cream for 5.79 plus shipping and handling and was automatically added to a monthly subscription.
No where on the page for the 5.79 trial did it indicate I had to sign up for monthly subscription but $87.50 was deducted from my account and when I called the number listed I was told I signed up when I purchased the fee trial.
They were not transparent with their billing practices and I feel I was tricked into this subscription.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of the entire amount of the subscription instead of being responsible for shipping back the product I never ordered and also paying restock fee.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I received a small jar in a cardboard box, no paper, no receipt, no way to contact them, 2 weeks later I noticed an unauthorized charge to my credit card, I had no way of contacting them, ended up calling my credit card people, who were very helpful, made a fraud claim.

I saw an ad for Gwen Stefani's personally perfected winkle- free face cream for $5.79 (for the SH cost), and $4.87 (SH) for the eye serum.,through the Avan Skin Labs.
My order was for the trial period of 30 days from the order day, so I called yesterday, November 21, 2017, to cancel any future shipments. I was told by Rose (the agent) that I had to have called to cancel within 14 days to not have to pay the full price of the items; otherwise they would automatically charge me monthly (full price each) by auto pay, on my original credit card that I had used. (Without my authorization to do so!)

I ordered the trial creams after seeing ti was a 30 trial period, and thought that was what I was paying for. . I didn't want to inadvertently pass the trial period date of November 29, so I called them yesterday, 11/21/2017, which was still 8 days before the cut-off trial period.(of the 30 days that were offered to the public.
Rose (the agent) told me that it wasn't within 14 days of ordering the trial on these items. I odered them online on October 29, 2017, and should have had until November 29 to try them free of additional charges!}! { I didn't even receive the order until November 4th}

I was told by Rose yesterday, and Liz today, that it was only a 14- day trial and it was disclosed as such, in small print , at the bottom! I'm a senior citizen that can hardly see as it is, and then get these fradulant companies putting disclaimers in SMALL PRINT! I was now being charged full price , in their entirety, for each of the two creams, every month! I I had purposely wrote myself a note to call Avan Skin Labs to cancel any furuew shipments before tha November 29, 2017 deadline. called to cancel on November 21, 2017.

When I called them, an agent named Rose told me that I was being charged the full price because I didn't call to answer within 14 days of ordering the trial period items!

I can' t begin to express how I feel right now about being 'duped' by this Ava Skin Labs Company! This is false advertizing as well as fraudulently using Gwen Stefani's name as the person who created these products I am a huge fan of the singer, Gwen Stefani, so I bought that 'hook-line-and-sinker', too! When I asked the second agent I spoke with today, she substantiated everything that yesterday's agent Rose had said.

However, I also wanted to verify that this cream was indeed a personal product developed by Gwen Stefany and her chemists, and Liz said , " " No, we have lots of endorsements from many people! "...OMG! It specifically said it was a product developed and sold by Gwen Stefan!

Avan Skin Labs need to learn to be up-front with their customers and not expect them to use the trial items within 14 days! How can one tell if it works or not? I feel so violated by this company's bad business procedures and dishonesty!

Don't believe Avan Skin Labs, Lumidaire,ABC Skin Cream, or any other alternate business names! Shame on them!

This company bills full price for products before there has been a chance to sample it. I was still waiting for my samples when noticed 2 mos billing!
Although this company says the samples were delivered, I was still waiting for said samples when I noticed I had been billed for 2 shipments at full price. I understand now, that their policy is to bill full price for the products, which are described as samples, after a 14 day period if the customer has not canceled. I have been billed for 2 shipments which I have yet to receive. The total billed is $359.46. I have supposedly been credited with $120. after making the initial complaint. Once I realized I had been billed the total of $359.46, I called back to amend my complaint. If the credit appears, I will still be out $239.46. This sort of business practice should not be allowed. I feel this company is just out to trick people. Just how many people can afford $175. a month on skin care. They know the average customer cannot, therefore their intent must be to make their money from deceit. I wonder just how many are being billed for these products and do not even realize it...

Desired Outcome

If the promised credit appears, I want a further refund of $239.46, exactly what they have billed to my account. I would also like to see their business policy amended to take the deceitfulness out. Just how is someone decide if they want to continue to use something until they have tried it?

offered product as free with shipping and handling of $4.95. Billed my debit card at later date for $38.34 and $87.50 no contract agreement
This company is scamming people by falsely advertising that their skin care product is free and you only pay for shipping and handling. Then they bill you without your knowledge. They then say that you agreed to a contract.

Desired Outcome

A refund of my money to my debit account and no further contact from this company

"Free trial" offer pay only S&H; Then they charge
credit card total cost of product if not returned in 14 days. 14 day policy not obvious or clear.
Accepted "free trial offer" 11/1/17. Ref #XXXXXXX
Received product - did not like product. Was not aware it had to be returned within 14 days or I would be charged and automatically be enrolled in a program. I contacted customer support they offered a $100 credit to my credit card for my $172.70 charge. When I offered to return product they said they could not accept unused product. Was also told that somewhere buried in the disclaimer is notice of practice. Once fooled shame on them, twice fooled shame on me. I won't be fooled again! Very misleading.

Desired Outcome

I would like a complete refund for the product, $172.70. I will gladly return unused product.

Customer Response • Jan 09, 2018

The company instructed me to call and request an authorization form to receive full credit and after 4 calls still nothing. Not Revdex.com's fault but sure reinforces my opinion of the company! BEWARE!!!!!

AvanDermNu first draws your attention by appearing to be created by two well known movie stars, creating a product because of a health issue with a loved one. Draws you in to the product. Then they offer a trial sample of an eye serum and/or wrinkle cream at a price of shipping only ($5-ish). You fill out all of your information accepting the terms and conditions, however you don't see in small type 5-pages down, that they are actually sending you a one-month supply and if you don't return it, your payment method will be charged $88.20 for the product and they will keep sending it to you at $88/month. The product is not worth the $5, much less the $88. If you call to dispute it, after the "14 day trial", they will give you 70% of your money back, if you go to your banker's office and have them call with you. It's a scam and I feel sorry for anyone who thinks this is a legitimate trial. Retaining 30% of every trial is making them rich!
Product_Or_Service: AvanDermNu Wrinkle Cream & Eye Serum

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like to have the complete amount refunded. They returned $60 of $87.50 and $60 of $85.20, totaling $52.70. In addition, I would like to ask them to make their policy clear on the "Trial" and future charges to their customers, instead of burying the terms in small type on the latter part of a very long terms write-up (they're counting on you not to read the whole thing). I realize we have to be educated consumers, and I realize if I had read the 20 min. write-up, this would not happen.

The company states the terms in their response, however the terms and conditions are not clear nor are they easy to find on their sample offer. Although the company has agreed and refunded all amounts that were paid, they do not make it easy to get this information. When I spoke to my bank about this situation, they indicated that this happens all of the time, where companies hide the details of the offer.

Customer Response

Thank you. I received the desired results. I couldn't have done it without getting the Revdex.com involved.

Merry Christmas!

free trial turned into recurring charge..
on oct 28th I signed up for a free trial of 2 of their products..having to pay for shipping.. I got billed for shipping but looking at my credit card statement it shows an unauthorized recurring charge.. contacted credit card company and they gave me a phone number that was filled with advertisements for 5 minutes and then says call another number which also was advertisements 8772775256....there was another number on the 2nd product that was different 8772513438 which then I was able to talk to someone . they said the product are not free and I was signing up for a 28$ a month subscription... this is a very deceptive practice . consumers should be warned.

Desired Outcome

i called and they gave me a return merchandise authorization number i will send it back tomorrow but we will see if they credit me

they advertised a free trial of product..
I had to pay shipping both ways .. they should reimburse for misleading

Started input info free trial of cream. Esc'd out before completing. Was charged $5.97 for shipp'g. 2wks later charged $87.50. Received no free trial.
On 10/10/2017, while on a news/entertainment website that is made up primarily of hyperlinks, I clicked on a link that I thought was a news story.
After reading, I started inputting my personal information to receive a free trial of face cream. After getting multiple pop ups to buy addition creams, I escaped out of site and went back to original sight and noted that the hyperlink was classified as "sponsor". At that point I realized it was an advertisement not a true news story. Before escaping out of the website, I did input my bank card information. Derm Wrinkle Cream charged my bank account for $5.97 on 10/10/2017 and $87.50 on 10/28/2017. I did not receive any type of products from them. I first realized the charges on 10/28/2017. I called the company on 10/28/2017 about the charges.
The representative, Tanya, told me that the $5.97 was for shipping. I am not clear on exactly was she was indicating the $87.50 represented. I told her I did not complete my submission to receive the free trial of cream from her company. I also told her I did not receive any cream. She had a tracking number that she wanted me to take to track the shipment. I refused, telling her I never completed my request for the free offer. I told her that I did not want any products from her company and that I wanted her to credit back my bank account for the two charges.
She offered to canceled my account but refused to credit back the charges to my account. She offered to give me a refund less a $17 restocking fee if I send the cream back. Once again I told her that I never completed my request for the free trial and that I never received anything from her company.
Over the phone she said she cancelled my account. She then sent me an email stating that my subscription status has been recently updated and your membership and all future shipments have been cancelled as per my request. The email was from "Avan Skin Labs"
1-888-649-3646
[email protected]

Desired Outcome

I want the company to reverse the 10/10/2017, $5.87 and 10/28/2017, $87.50 charge they made to my account. In addition, ideally I would like them to stop their deceptive advertising practices.

AvanSkinLabs Response

Ms., When you order on our website you must agree to the terms and conditions which state that after 14 days + 4 days of shipping you will be charged for the bottles if you do not call to cancel and return the product. Per terms and conditions all used products are non-returnable or refundable once past the 14-day trial period. You called to cancel after trial period ended. The trial started from the time you placed the order on 10/08/17 until 10/26/17. Your order was delivered on 10/14/17. You can see it here: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Your account was cancelled by a CSR on 10/28/17. The shipping or processing fee is non-refundable. We do not normally process a refund once past the 14 day trial and product is no longer eligible for return. As a ONE time customer courtesy I can process a full refund for the product cost/charge $87.50. Please let me know if this is what you would like? If you have further questions please feel free to call me directly at 813-563-4265 my name is Jesse and I am here to help!

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept AvanSkinLabs' proposition; " As a ONE time customer courtesy I can process a full refund for the product cost/charge $87.50."
I would like to reaffirm as stated in my initial complaint, that my impression is that I escaped out of the AvanSkinLabs' free trial offer website before completing the transaction. In addition, to date I still have not received the referenced 10/17/17 package. As I asserted during my 10/28/17 phone conversation with their customer service rep, I believe it is AvanSkinLabs responsibility to investigate the whereabouts of the supposedly delivered 10/14/17 package.
I would also like to note that even after I receive the proposed $87.50, I will still be out $5.79. Today, 12/01/17, I tried contacting Jesse at 813-563-4265. She did not answer the phone so I left a voicemail confirming my desire to get the $87.50 refund from the erroneous 10/30/17 charge to my account.
I will consider this matter resolved after the credit of $87.50 is posted to my account.

Customer Response

Please do not consider this case closed. To date, I still do not have resolution. As instructed in the Business response, I've been calling Jesse all week at the number she provided, 813-563-4265, leaving messages that I want the credit $87.50. I have not gotten a return call. I have not gotten a credit to my account. Today, I called a different customer service number, 1-888-649-3646, and spoke to a rep named Jewel. She said they were waiting for my bank to call them. I called my bank and they informed me that they do not speak to merchants but only other financial institutions. After this past week's chain on events, I believe that Jesse at AvanSkinLabs was not truthful in her response. In her response she said that "I am here to help". Maybe she wrote her response to give the appearance to the Revdex.com that she was planning on refunding my money. Please reopen this case. Thank you

AvanSkinLabs Response

Since you have already filed a dispute/chargeback with your bank before you called us, we are no longer available to process credits or refund since our account is frozen with the corresponding customer. In order for us to issue any type of refund we would need you to call us with the bank on the phone. The bank is the only one who can allow us access to approve a refund or not. If you have further questions please feel free to call me directly at 813-563-4265 my name is Jesse and I am here to help!

Deceptive advertising leading to inability to return product!!
Ordered items over the internet on 10.08/2017 that stated you can try the product, a face cream and eye cream for the price of the Shipping and Handling. At the time I ordered there was nothing written about the cost of the product if you if you liked it. I notice now that the website tells the cost of the product on it's website. It was a "bait and switch" tactic that I now see as the way they get people to try their product. When I received the product their was no info in the box, no invoice no instructions as to what to do if I did not like the product or even any info about how to order more if I liked it.
On 10?26/17 I was checking my credit card bill and noticed 2 charges on for 87.50 and one for 85,20 total of 172.70 for the sample bottles of eye cream and face cream. Can you believe $172.70 for sample products with no info as to where to reorder
or complain or to send the product back. My credit card company had to tell me how to get in touch with the company and one of
the numbers they gave me was disconnected.
When I called to complain the man named "Blue" said I had agreed
to this when I ordered on line but I looked back through all my paperwork and there was no mention of this charge.
I asked if I could return the product and he said not if it was unsealedhow do you try a product if you can't unseal it!!! I could hear other phone calls in the background of customer service reps talking with other irate customers.
Please check out this company's practices the original internet site I ordered from has changed completely I guess from all the complaints. My credit card company knew about the deceptive practices but said they could do nothing about itAAAdvantage.
Bait and switch to senior citizens needs to be a crime!!!
My order numbers are XXXXXX and XXXXXX. I have copies of the only paper work and emails I received and nothing states the charges that were levied on 10/26/17.

Desired Outcome

The company has said they will reimburse me $120.00 of the $172.70 they charged for the samples but I want them to reimburse the additional $52.70.

To help you with the charges your account was processed a customer courtesy refund of $60.00 off of each charge which you have agreed to. We do not normally do this but we will process an adjustment for the remainder amount as a ONE time customer courtesy. I have processed additional refund of $25.20 for the eye serum and $27.50 for the wrinkle cream. You should see the refund in your account within 3-5 business days. If you have further questions please feel free to call me directly at 813-563-4265 my name is Jesse and I am here to help!

I do hope the company has improved it's business practices. I notice
that their website has improved. Thank you to the Revdex.com for it's great
follow through.

Customer Response

Concerning my complaint made in October #XXXXXXXX
I have now received additional charges to my American Airlines
Account by a "Partner Company" named Makeup 365 based in Tampa, Florida.
They stated the new charges were granted by my completing a
survey!!! The only survey I completed was through the Revdex.com!!

Thought I was getting a free sample of eye serum and anti-aging cream. It wasn't even 2 weeks when they charged $160+ on my charge card for shipment of more product. It advertised that the product was to be used for 30 days, but it wasn't even 2 weeks. When I called, they credited me $120, but I had to pay $52.70 for the SAMPLE that I received. Can't believe the advertisement was not what they said.
Product_Or_Service: AvanSkinLabs Eye & Anti-aging

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Would like for AvanSkinLabs to refund me for $52.70.
