I ordered a baby iguana from them and I received him freezing and half dead, he is also very skinnny and unhealthyHe was just in a cardboard box with thin styrofoam and in a mesh bag.They didn't even put a heating pack in the boxHe's extremely scared and jumpyI honestly think that they mistreat the reptiles theirHopefully he gets better soonDO NOT BUY FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!! THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THE REPTILES!

I am rejecting this response because: Wow...you continue to lie Well guess what...Your company is now marked with a big black X...and the internet tells the story I am done with this conversation with you You cannot produce one foul email from me and if you could produce them they would be here for all to see I hope your company permanently fails and karma will work its magic

We did want to hold the cricket order as a courtesy due to their temperatures being slightly colder than normal, but we ended up shipping according to the shipping schedule on the website, which is what the customer had expected prior to our e-mailWe never received pictures of the DOA crickets, which is the policy very clearly spelled out on our website--this applies to all customersWe are extraordinarily clear that we do not guarantee live arrival of crickets when temperatures dip below 40F (this customer's low temperatures were below 40F every single day in Jan/Feb, so the crickets would not have been guaranteed regardless of the day shipped) In an effort to compromise, we offered to add free crickets to their next two cricket orders, thus getting them a free replacement of 1,cricketsThe customer chose to word our aforementioned offer as "they wanted me to pay twice as much for two more shipments before they would replace the dead crickets" which I believe is a deceptive way to explain the exception we were makingThis really boils down to: 1.) We shipped the crickets according to the shipping schedule that the customer was expecting upon order placementWe attempted to hold them a day as a courtesy, but our supplier shipped 2.) The customer's low temperatures voided the live arrival guarantee every day in January and February, so the crickets would not have been guaranteed regardless of the day we shipped 3.) We made an exception to fully replace the crickets over their next two cricket orders (they had placed six prior cricket orders, so there was no reason to think they would not continue)

First I purchased African Trap Door Spiders and they arrived alive and healthyPut them in their tanks and they burrowed over night and are doing great! Then I went ahead and ordered Emperor Scorpions, a Vietnamese Centipede, and a Jumbo Goliath Bird Eater tarantulaThey all arrived on time and alive in great condition! Packaging was excellent, all went in their tanks and are exploring their new homes! I'm very happy with my new pets and Backwater Reptiles has the friendliest customer service! They answered all of my questions same or next day10/will be buying from them again

I ordered two leopard geckos and they arrived completely healthy and they look awesome! These guys know what they are doing Shipment came exactly when it said they wouldPrices were very reasonable and I'm very happy with the business

I will only order my reptiles from this site! I'm so impressed with the quality of their reptiles it's truly amazingI recommend all of my friends & family Back Water...no more pet store reptiles they're just not healthy or strong enoughIt's very sad! But we love these people so keep up the good work all :)

I am rejecting this response because: Youa re a liar and a thief and that is why there is so much bad feedback about you all over the internet Please produce these email that asked me to send pics of the dead worms???? Show us one! You are unprofessional and as [redacted] I hope your business fails You dont send tracking numbers because you are cheap and unprofessional And how dare you ever accuse me of trying to buy product without paying Who go you think you are???? Got my Cuban knight Anole lizard and my ornamental baboon tarantula, Super stoked, both are healthy , and arrived alive My ornamental baboon tarantula, is so awesome , I love old world species!!! The customer ordered a bullfrog, which we thought was out of stock, but I found a beauty and was able to shipIt had air and heat inside the box, the same way I ship hundreds of packages each yearThe frog supposedly arrived DOA, so we shipped a Pacman frog which was her second choice since we were now definitely out of bullfrogsWe shipped it free of charge, when she'd ordinarily need to cover shipping ($39.99) This customer is attempting to abuse the system and while we don't appreciate Revdex.com complaints, we cannot capitulate to this behavior on ethical groundsShe literally didn't even mention receiving the second frog, nor did she acknowledge the huge exception we made for her by shipping her another frog totally free of charge, including free shipping

Have bought feeder crickets from this company times, the first time had no problems but the second time almost half of the animals that I bought ended up dead on arrival and by the end of the next day all but maybe a dozen were deadTalked to a person named Abbey on Friday July and was asked to provide pictured of the dead animals which I did and now days later can not get any contact with the company

I had a great experience with themEverything worked perfectly and the animal was healtyPlan on using again soon

This is the first time I have ordered from Backwater Reptiles and the experience was excellentThe quality of the reptile I received was top notch and arrived in quality packing The most impressive thing is that, while the do not offer a telephone number (as they use multiple distribution sources to cut down on overhead), they do respond to questions in a very timely mannerOverall, BWR seems to be a very professional operation

The below customer ordered an imported Flapneck chameleon for $plus shipping, and it unfortunately arrived DOAOur DOA rate is below 2%, but it does happen, albeit rarelyMr [redacted] explicitly clicked, "Yes, I agree to the live arrival guarantee terms" when he placed his order--all customers of our's must do so in order to submit an orderWe ask customers on virtually every single page of our website to review our terms before orderingWhen his chameleon arrived DOA, we offered our standard live arrival guarantee, which is the option of a replacement, or a refund less overnight shipping feesWe always stand by and honor our terms Despite our offer, Mr [redacted] sent some very rude e-mails saying that our offer was not good enoughWe refunded the price of the chameleon ($39.99), but Mr [redacted] then filed a dispute for the overnight shipping fee of $as well (which we do not refund--no reptile company in this country refunds shipping costs in the event of a DOA)Ordering a live animal is a shared riskHe was alerted to the notion that the overnight shipping fee ($39.99) could be sent to the collection agency we utilize if he chose to dishonestly have it seizedSo, when he did file unethically against us and got his shipping fee refunded by Paypal, we sent the $to the collection agency we utilize, in accordance with the terms on our website, which very clearly explain when we use a collection agency Mr [redacted] does not believe the terms apply to him, when in fact they doWhen customers attempt to cheat the system, we use legal channels to recover the funds, in accordance with state law The Backwater Team
