Had a GREAT experience with Backwater Reptiles Our iguana arrived perfectly and healthy Customer Service is outstanding, I would highly recommend Backwater Reptiles!

I am rejecting this response because: This is just a repeat of exactly what they previously said. They knowingly shipped crickets in too cold of weather for their survivalThey admitted knowing this by emailing us to inquire as to if we wanted them to be shipped or notOur response was to NOT SHIP...they shipped anyways. They state that they are so willing to replace the crickets...but only if I purchase two more orders from them in increments of crickets. An order of crickets cost vs the that I spent for the 1000. How is that replacing the crickets? If they are so willing to replace the crickets why dont they just replace them. Bad customer service and certainly not the first complaint against them with the Revdex.com as I found out after not being able to get a response from the before contacting the Revdex.com. Not a happy customer

I recently ordered a Boa constrictor from Backwater Reptiles LLC After placing my order I had questions regarding the delivery Meg was very responsive in answering my emails quickly and putting me concerns to rest My boa was delivered the next morning, carefully packaged and warm She is a beautiful, healthy baby Suriname Boa, and I couldn't be happier!

Mr*** ordered a ***'s chameleon from us, which was promptly shipped the following day, and delivered the day after that by 10:28am, slightly ahead of scheduleHis local temperatures hit the low 40's, which we still guarantee, but they are not idealShipping live reptiles is a shared risk
between the shipper and the receiverHis lizard unfortunately arrived DOA and, while this is fairly rare, it does happen occasionally. Each customer must click, "Yes, I agree to the live arrival guarantee terms" before they can submit an order on our website, and this provides us with a digital signature acknowledging and accepting the straightforward termsOur guarantee is very clear, and prominently displayed on the top menu of every single page on our site, all 600+ pagesIn the case of a DOA reptile, we offer a refund of the reptile less shipping, or we ship another reptile free and the customer only covers shippingThis is the standard guarantee within the reptile industry, and our's in actually the best in the nation as it spans seven days after arrival.We processed a refund for the chameleon ($29.99) per the customer's choice, and while he said, "While I'm disappointed as a whole, I appreciate the fact that you've responded to my concerns" he does believe that he is entitled to a refund for the shipping cost ($39.99) as wellI've explained as politely as possible that we don't refund shippingIn fact, no reptile company in the country does.The customer has threatened to post negative reviews, but we don't make exceptions based upon threats and name-callingIt's unfortunate that it's come to this, but we realize as a business there are certain customers who believe the rules don't apply to them.Cordially,***While I'm disappointed as a whole, I appreciate the fact that you've responded to my concerns, however, I feel, inadequately

This customer placed an order on October 27th, and it was shipped on October 31st per our shipping schedule which is shown on every single animal page on our websiteThe customer was not available to receive the packageWe called her, no answerWe left voicemailsWe e-mailedWe textedNo

Wow, all I can say is they deliver live animals My blue tongue skink arrived healthy and happy I've booked marked their website and will be ordering again from them

This is The best place to get your Reptiles!

I've ordered from Backwater reptiles numerous times, and almost always have had nothing but good experiences, but unfortunately my last order of water monitors and Nile monitor didn't go so wellThe Nile is great and very healthyHere is where the problem has came in though both of my water monitors had severe calcium deficiency, I sent back for a replacement/ got the replacement in a few days and is in great condition, plus totally free cant beat that! But the other monitor with the calcium deficiency has diedNothing I could do to stop it just to far goneI understand what the company is about and really appreciate how helpful they have always been to meMy only issue is I dont feel like I should be charged another $for shipping for the replacement animal, I ordered a live and healthy animal not a projectI even saved the body after contacting to see if they wanted it back for examination to try and get some preventive measures put into placeLike I said all in all I love doing business with these guys but that replacement charge is ridiculous, overnight shipping goes by the size and weight of the boxI'm not asking for a sub adult here(BackWater Reptiles- please try and figure something out with this, my email is ***) thanks, ***

I ordered a medium size Honduran Curly Hair Tarantula for my son’s birthdayHe’s years old and has done several reports on tarantulas at schoolSo we agreed we did our research and set up a terrarium and placed our orderBackwater was very responsive via email in answering our questionsThe arrived on time, the tarantula was packed well with plenty of padding and temperature packetShe was very active right away and fed immediatelyEverything went excellent and my son is thrilled! This customer received a captive bred baby Sulcata tortoise from us, and emailed a couple days later saying the tortoise wasn't eatingWe gave her recommendations on lighting, humidity, basking temperatures, etc, which she received and perhaps implementedShe e-mailed us on 12/28/15, days after
the tortoise arrived, to say that it had passed. We do guarantee live arrival and a full week after arrival, which is the single best guarantee in the reptile industry, but days after arrival is well past that periodRegardless, we said we would make an exception and offer her a discounted replacement for $shipped, if she was interestedHer response was, "Yes thank you so what is the next step." Screenshot of this e-mail conversation is attached.So, you can imagine our surprise to receive a Revdex.com complaint from her a few days laterWe had no idea this customer suddenly changed her mind about our offer to replace the tortoise

I am rejecting this response because: The so called replacement frog was sent with the bullfrog AFTER I had been told the bullfrog was out of stock and I HAD to choose a replacement frogI had no clue frogs was coming AT ALLThat was not my problem nor is it my faultI only asked for the replacement because I was told THERE WAS NO MORE BULLFROGS IN STOCK AT ALLI have all emails saved on that matterAs far as the bullfrog goesIt was placed in a bag with no air flow at all

Our live arrival guarantee program is very clearly stated on our website (here is the page), and each customer must click, "Yes, I agree to the live arrival guarantee terms" before they can submit an orderWe
also instruct customers to read the live arrival guarantee on every single animal page on our websiteWe also send a message via e-mail stating the live arrival guarantee (a copy of what was sent to *** can be provided upon request)
If an animal arrives DOA, we offer the customer their choice of one of the following options:
1.) a refund of the animal, less shipping
or
2.) a free replacement animal, and the customer is only responsible for the overnight shipping charge of $
The above options are standard for the reptile industry
It is unfortunate that the customer's garter snake arrived DOA, however the options we offered her are the options any customer in her position receivesIf she chose not to read the guarantee, and clicked "Yes" agreeing to it, that is not an excuse and does not render the guarantee program void

The team at Backwater Reptiles was amazing! I inquired about a very specific type of geckoThey had them availableThey helped through every step of the processAny time I had a question, there was a prompt response
A tracking number was sent the evening prior to my expected delivery, and I knew just when to expect our critters
When they arrived, the anticipation was tremendous! They were packed very carefullyMy William Day blue cave geckos were alive and very activeThey appeared very healthy on arrival!
I would certainly do business with this team againIt is evident they care about their animals and their customersTop notch in my opinion!!!

Purchased leopard frogs from Backwater Reptiles, LLCThey were shipped overnight from Florida to Arizona and arrived in excellent condition; alive and very activeThe company was easy to work with and let us know exactly when our frogs would ship and arriveThey also are VERY cognizant of weather conditions before shipping to insure the safety and health of the animalsThis is extremely important in Arizona!
