Berkheimer Associates Reviews (114)

I have received your letter dated December 22, 2016, with its attached documentation, concerning the above named partyBecause Berkheimer Tax Administrator is a duly appointed local tax collector and the complaint at issue pertains to the collection of local taxes and confidential tax information,
it is our position that the Revdex.com does not have the jurisdiction or authority to consider taxpayer disputes concerning the collection of local taxesRather, the taxpayer is afforded certain rights and remedies, including the right to certain administrative appeals, under Pennsylvania's Local Tax Enabling Act, Local Tax Collection Law and the Local Taxpayers Bill of Rights that he or she may evoke. However, with that stated, it is Berkheimer's position to resolve any disputes or complaints from a taxpayer amicably where possibleln this regard, Berkheimer will review the merits of the complaint at issue and address the taxpayer's concerns contained therein directly with the taxpayer.Very truly yours,David RG***General Counsel

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
In ***'s letter, he states Berkheimer will review the merits of the complaint at issueFair enough, but five months????????!!!! If my taxes real estate taxes are approximately $and the amount I paid was about $6300, what is there to review??? I was told in October by Berkheimer, they did not have record of two $installment payments I made in the summer of I then mailed and faxed a copies of the cashed checksWhat more can I do?
What is most disturbing is I have made numerous phone calls and nobody seems to have any idea what to do except to say the matter is under reviewIn the last week, I was told twice a supervisor would call me back and I am still waiting for those calls(I am not holding my breath)
There is no gray area here. My mortgage company paid the tax bill of about $for They ultimately refunded me about $after I moved to my new residenceI made two $payments($7700-$+ = about $6300) The amount owed is about $It is clearly documentedI am once again demanding that Berkheimer act responsibly and ethicallyTheir business practice is deplorable

I am rejecting this response because: the response states that "Berkheimer's position to resolve any disputes or complaints from a taxpayer amicably where possibleIn this regard Berkheimer will review the merits of the complaint at issue and address the taxpayer's concerns contained therein directly with the taxpayer." I have spoken with several people from Berkheimer, I do not believe they understand my concern/complaintWhen a tax payer lives in one jurisdiction and works in another, the taxpayer is responsible to pay the appropriate tax liability to eachThe Local earned income tax program online takes all the information including/involving the jurisdictionsWhen you input the information and close the form it shows the tax liability at the liability rate of where the tax payer lives ( usually 1%) however it includes the second jurisdictionThere is a small notation the liability rate may be higher but goes no further explainingI had learned several years ago that my husbands tax liability was higher than 1%However should the liabity rate for his employers jurisdiction increase I am not going to know. Berkheimer is known for it's penalties without giving the taxpayer a chance to correct their errorI have been trying to find out who oversees Berkheimer to be sure of the checks and balancesI was told it is the jurisdictions hired by them but there must be ab agency that watches over Berkheimer and I would like to know what agency that is

I am rejecting this response because:The business contacted me twice denying they received my payment however when I produced a copy of my online confirmation they then accepted it but said my next bill was dueThey seem to have made a mistake on their part because they said this bill is sent out in July per the email from BerkheimerHow am I being billed for something now that wasn't sent out yet? This makes no sense and they clearly could not articulate this unnecessary billThe Per Capita Tax for Exeter Township should cover the Wyoming area district per capita tax as it is WITHIN that school districtI am attaching the emails between Berkheimer and I. I also find it completely unacceptable that they are pushing the Revdex.com out of the equation, and trying to clearly hide fraudulent charges that are being sent to meI apparently have late fees on a bill that is sent out annually in July???? How is that even logically possible?

Revdex.com:
At this time, I have not been contacted by Berkheimer Associates regarding
complaint ID ***
I have left several messages and the first few bills are not in my name but then they switched it over to my name without my permissionThe bills just continue to accrue in my nameI would have them shut off but then my tenants would have no way of turning them on because I am being told there is some rule that the only people that can have sewage on in their name is the owner of the propertyI don't know what to doPlease advise.
