I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I spoke with a Discovery Specialist (customer service rep) via phone and exchanged emails with a couple of their reps as well. They would not refund the $charge made to my debit card Birchbox only provided 'canned' responses for this fraud case. Like many companies I have observed that employ a debit/credit fishing scam, they route the customer back-and-forth through different Discovery Specialist team members in the hope the customer will drop the issue. They were able to quickly locate the fraudulent account that was used to charge my debit card, but their legal department claimed they cannot provide any of the account information because they need to protect their customers. In other words, Birchbox needs to protect their fraudulent activities or the fraudulent activities of criminals that use their service in their best interest. In order to resolve this issue, I had to contact my bank and go through their dispute process.

Horrible customer service I have been waiting for two days for a phone call It is impossible to talk to a person My bank account has been charged times - having a hard time trying to clear it up I do not recommend this business to anyone! I bought a gift card for Christmas and have nothing to show for it yet have been charged I am getting ready to dispute the whole thing with my bank

from *** advising that she had received a notification from us that the promotion she had used on her order (***) was no longer availableThis promotion was for a free gift with purchase and was only valid as long as supplies lasted*** was unhappy that this was not shipped as it was out of stock *** responded to ***’s email on July ***She advised that the headphones reserved for that promotion were completely out of stockWhile we did have the full size version available for purchase on our website, the free gift with purchase promotion was out of stock at that time*** added a $credit to ***’s account as an apology for the inconvenience *** then wrote back to advise that the headphones were still showing as available on our websiteUnfortunately, we are not able to send a full size product in place of a gift with purchase as *** noted in her reply to *** on July ***. *** was not satisfied with this response and insisted that *** was lying to her*** wrote back to *** on July *** advising that: “I can also confirm that the full-size earphones are the same that we offered with this gift with purchaseHowever, to clarify, we were allotted a specific amount of stock of these earphones to give out as gifts with purchase, and that stock existed separately from the stock in our full-size shopUnfortunately, the gift with purchase stock has now been exhausted, and we are unable to send out the earphones that are part of our full-size shop stockI sincerely apologize for the confusion here!” *** offered to send any other two products from our Bonus Shop to replace the out-of-stock headphonesThis solution was offered in addition to the $credit that had already been added to ***’s account*** requested that we ship her two of our Ace Bonus PacksWe shipped both Packs on July *** also added an additional Points to ***’s account It looks like our *** *** resolved this issue on July ***We shipped *** the two Ace Packs and added $of credit to her account on behalf of the out of stock gift with purchase

I'm honestly a little surprised with the negative reviews listed hereI ran into this page accidentally searching for their phone number, and after reading reviews I felt compelled to write a review of my ownGreat customer service is a rarity these daysWhen doing business, the number one factor to me is customer serviceI REFUSE to give my hard earned money to a poorly ran businessWith that being said, Birchbox is TOP NOTCH! I receive great value for my money, their points system truly pays for the box and moreI have saved a load of money buying my beauty products through Birchbox (even clothing accessories, and candlesMy husband has a birchbox too!) I've been with birchbox for a few years now and have never, not one single time had a problem with their customer serviceThe employees go above and beyond to make feel special, and appreciatedI've had a billing issues, received a few broken items (this isn't their faultWhy put the blame on birchbox for something the postal service is to blame for?) among a few other things over the course of a few yearsBirchbox have always went beyond to rectify my situationThey're quick with response, and always follow throughMy husband and I will remain customers of Birchbox for life! Don't sign up for this service, they rarely deliver as advertisedSamples are often missing, broken, or "out of stock" and I have no recourse since I signed up for a yearly subscriptionCustomer service is unwilling to help if you have a yearly subscription since they already have your money

I have been trying for months to cancel my subscription They indicated online all you need to do is go to Manage Account and click cancel Well, that option doesn't appear for me They keep charging me and keep sending me the boxes I finally, today, decided to call them and you can't They tell you to use their website to schedule a call back or chat They require you to choose a reason and go through their Knowledge Base Canceling a subscription is not an available option At the bottom of the screen in tiny letters is the options to schedule a call When doing so, it only gave me times of day, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, or 3p-6p, EST Not even a day that it will happen All I want is to cancel my subscription!

Samples in the monthly box are small and stingyFull sized products that I have purchased are more often than not damaged or past expiration...I have literally received items in crushed boxes with thick layers of grey dust covering themIt's impossible to speak to anyone over the phoneInstead you have to deal w/smarmy email consultants with canned responsesI am canceling!

[redacted] subscribed to receive the November box. While the box was a bit delayed by the post office, the box was shipped and marked delivered. The December box was also shipped and marked delivered. [redacted] reached out on December ** to tell us she had not received her box, and we sent a replacement....

That replacement was shipped and marked delivered. Three boxes were shipped and marked delivered, and [redacted] paid for two. We have also refunded her in the amount of $20 for the November and December boxes. We apologize that a specialist misspoke when responding to [redacted], but rest assured, she has been refunded.

I have contacted customer service twice, not for anything their fault really. The first time I opened one of my samples and it was empty. They sent me that sample and it arrived within a few days. The second time my box got stuck in shipment. With no hesitation, they shipped me a new box! Great customer service and very easy to work with!

When picking the shipping date it gave me a range of delivery dates. I picked a shipping date that placed delivery the week before Christmas. I would not have delayed shipping so as to make the delivery late. I had initially made the purchase around the [redacted] of December, so the company's reasoning makes no sense. The replacement box was due to the mis-shipment. So the replacement box should not suffice for the incomplete box. I am requesting further compensation for the additional mistake.

I ordered a birchbox using the promo code to get a free beautyblender while I have all of my screenshots they refuse to send one altho the email said as long as I ordered by may [redacted] I would receive one. They went on to say it was because it was not my first box when I disproved that because it said resubsribe they moved onto because it was not my first may box also something the email did not say anything about.

I bought my sisters each a birchbox 6-month subscription this past Christmas. I received an email from them on Feb */2016 saying they are cancelling and refunding it starting March 2016bon because of the "exchange rate and high shipping costs" they said. I am disgusted as number one I bought these as gifts and mostly because I look at my confirmed purchase as a contract between customer and business and just because the exchange rate has changed or shipping rates have changed they just decide to bow out everything. If I had decided 2 months in to the subscriptions that I wanted my money back...that would NOT have been an option. What makes them think this is at all acceptable? Here is a copy of my email...

Our cutoff for Christmas delivery was posted on our site, and the cutoff for Christmas delivery was a first box ship date of 12/**. This customer set the first box ship date as 12/** on our website, so we could not guarantee Christmas delivery. As listed on our FAQ, Birchboxes can take up to ten...

business days to arrive, and there can be 3-5 business days between tracking scans. This customer was concerned about the tracking scans, so we requested a replacement box for him as a courtesy. He received the original box and it was missing one sample. The replacement box is still in transit to him. He requested we cancel the subscription and refund him in full, so we cancelled the subscription and refunded him in full despite the fact that we shipped two boxes to him.
