On 3/28/17, I purchased a *** for Blooms Today that offered $20 off of any flower arrangements ordered. I utilized the *** in the purchase of several (5) flower arrangements for birthdays and Mothers' Day. Evereything was fine and the first two arrangements arrived without issue for birthdays.

However, on 5/3/17, a customer service representative called and told me that there was an error with the *** code application and that my remaining 3 flower orders (all for Mother's Day) were all being completely cancelled and purchase prices refunded.

When I asked why they were not honoring the prices I paid for arrangements, I was told there was nothing that could be done. I would have to reorder all Mother's day arrangements through Blooms today or another site.

This letter is in response to the complaint filed by ***. After looking into the 3 orders mentioned in the complaint, I see a full refund was issued for all 3 orders. I went on the "***" website to find out information about a funeral that I wanted to send flowers to. I clicked on a link that looked as if it was the funeral home's site to send flowers. I got a confirmation email that my order was received and that my delivery would be at the funeral home at the stated time and date. Two days later an hour after the wake had started I received a phone call saying my flowers couldn't be delivered because no florist in the area was available. I asked what company this was because I had thought I had placed the order through the funeral home, they stated they were "Blooms Today". They are a service that locates local florists for service. When asked why they would wait until an hour after the wake had started to tell me they could not deliver, they said they had reached out to a local florist, and the florist stated they were too busy and would not be able to provide service. I asked for the name of the local florist they had been in touch with, and then called that florist myself the next day. The owner said they never spoke with anyone from Blooms Today, nor received any orders for delivery to a funeral home. They recognized the name of Blooms Today, and knew them as a farce, as they have received numerous phone calls from customers wondering why their delivery was not made, only to find out the order was never placed. I then looked up Blooms Today online and found all the poor reviews stating all similar encounters, consumers placing an order and then receiving a call back during or after the funeral to say they couldn't deliver the flowers. The consumer was then signed up for some sort of membership fee that they were charged monthly. The company is fronting as a flower delivery service, that takes your credit card information, does not deliver the flowers and then charges a monthly membership fee in the hope you don't realize. How disgusting of a business to take advantage of people and cause flowers to not be delivered to a family in mourning during a wake.

A Blooms Today representative told me my order was not able to be filled because the florist they got in touch with (***) stated that "they were just so busy, that they would not have time to fill the order"). I then contacted *** and was told they never had spoken with anyone from Blooms Today, nor received an order from them. This is an email from *** the owner of *** who stated that he never received an order from Blooms Today. Also attached is a copy of my banking statement showing the funds drawn. Blooms Today had no intention of filling the flower delivery, and contacted me an hour into the wake, to tell me they were unable to fulfill the order.

After receiving the order we tried our preferred florist in the delivery area and could not locate one that could deliver in time before the services. We reached out to *** as soon as we were aware we could not have the order delivered. We immediately apologized and issued a full refund. *** did express her dissatisfaction and her call was escalated to our Vice President of Operations in which an apology was given and she was informed of the full refund. We would be also happy to send a complimentary arrangement to *** or on her behalf at no cost to her as an act of goof faith.
