I love the causebox. Not only for the amazing products inside but because of the mission of the box. Sustainable eco friendly products. I just got my first box and I am so happy I signed up for the annual membership.

I enrolled in an annual subscription & cancelled. I was told it was cancelled. My credit card has been charged for another year again! Do not renew!
Do not charge my credit card again! Do not renew the annual subscription! Next is a call to my credit card company!

Desired Outcome

No renewal of subscription. No additional credit card charge. CANCEL subscription.

We are so sorry to hear when a member is left unsatisfied with their experience with our team, and our service -- and we absolutely want to resolve this situation!

After looking at the member's account, and their interaction with our Customer Support Team it appears that the desired resolution has been met :) The member's Annual subscription is cancelled so that it will not renew on Sept. 1st, and the member will not be charged from us in the future. We were also able to confirm that the member was not recently charged by us for renewal. Please let us know if there is anything else that you need from our team.

'Cancel anytime' they say. It's a lie.
I cancelled my sub after the first shipment. I did not care for the quality of items. Website says 'cancel anytime' and when I log into my account it clearly says 'cancelled'. Yet they apparently just shipped me, three months later, a SECOND box? How is this 'cancel anytime'?

Desired Outcome

I received ONE box from them before I cancelled. I would like a refund for this box they just shipped (that I will refuse), and I would like them to actually CANCEL my account and not ship me stuff anymore.

We deeply regret anytime a member is left feeling dissatisfied with our services, and we want to rectify this in any way we can. Our members mean the absolute world to us, and we would never want them to feel otherwise.

For clarity, the member purchased an Annual subscription with us on 03/14/19 starting with the Spring Box. Our Annual membership is an upfront commitment to four boxes at a discounted price per box. As detailed in our FAQs, when a member cancels the Annual subscription it stops it from renewing the following year, but does not affect the boxes remaining in that subscription or initiate a refund. The member reached out to our Customer Support Team on the same day as this complaint was filed, to inquire about the Summer Box that was just shipped and request a refund. Our team made an one-time exception to the Annual Membership cancellation policy, and refunded the member for the Summer Box that was shipped, as well as any remaining boxes on her Annual subscription. The refund will post to the member's PayPal account in 2-4 days. In addition, the member's subscription has been terminated and they will not receive any other boxes from us in the future. The desired resolution as proposed by the member has been met! Please let us know if there is any other information you need from us in order to resolve this case.

Was told on 12/1/18 that a refund would be given and duplicate account would be closed. They closed the duplicate account but never issued $216 refund
My initial order did not take the coupon code so I ended up with two ordered placed on 11/30/18. I emailed the company (only way to contact them) immediately. On 12/1/18 he following email was received:
Hi ***!

Thanks for reaching out! I did go ahead and terminate this order for you, and provide a refund back to your card, which you should see in the next few business days! You are all set with your other Annual Subscription and will receive the Winter Box as the first of 4, that you'll receive over the next year. We'll begin shipping early this month! :) Please let me know if you need any further assistance, and enjoy your weekend!

They still have not issued the refund. And refused when MasterCard contacted them (according to Emilio at MasterCard).

Desired Outcome

A refund for the duplicate charge. I never intended to receive nor did I receive two sets of this product.

I love the fact this is helping the in need. The box's are full of so many exciting products
that I have never heard of , or would not purchase due to the unknown of said products. Would I recommend yes! For the amount you pay is far less then if you were to purchase items individually. So much fun to open a bid surprise box.

The customer service is great. I had an issue with one of the items and contacted them about it
and now I am receiving a new replacement. No problems and quick response! So easy to work with.

Good luck trying to reach a human. Even if you cancel a month before it ships they won't refund, ship anyway and then want a handling charge is almost 33% to make an exception and take a return. Buyer beware avoid these people. They have loads of fine print

We never want to leave a member feeling unhappy with their experience and in this case, have fully accommodated the member's request including a full refund and no additional fees charged.

I Thought that I was only ordering one box... I don't want the other 3 boxes.
I tried to email them my mistake right away when I signed up twice before this last email but did not receive an answer. Now they are telling me that I have to take the other three boxes, which I cannot afford because I customized what I wanted even though they gave choices. The website is not very helpful and can be confusing

With regards to your case, we received your request to cancel your Annual subscription on 2/2/19 (this is the only email from the customer we have record of with regards to this issue) this was after your Winter Welcome Box had been shipped and received. Our agent *** then confirmed that your Annual Subscription renewal had been cancelled, and continued to explain (and link) our cancellation policy with regards to an Annual subscription. (For context, as is listed in our Terms of Use, which the customer agrees to at the time of purchase, all sales are final. A cancellation part-way through the membership does not trigger a refund for the remaining boxes left in the Annual term. The customer's subscription has been canceled and will not renew). When you responded re-iterating your desire to cancel for a refund, *** tried to re-explain and provide links to our cancellation policy. This was the end of communication.

We are so sorry for the frustration this has inevitably caused, but our agent did follow the correct protocol and we cannot offer a refund as stated in our policies. Per your suggestion, I can promise that our team will internally discuss ways to improve our website and consider where we need to be clearer! CAUSEBOX is happy to provide the correspondence between our member and agent, as well as access to our Terms of Use or any other necessary information.

No they did not refund me so no they did not resolve this. I don't have any use for 3 more boxes. I did email them like I said twice before. I just don't understand how they just can't give me my money back. I will certainly tell my friends and family how difficult they are to deal with.

I sincerely apologize for the frustration! After reviewing your initial emails (to our Customer Support Team), I understand that you originally intended to purchase a Quarterly membership and purchasing the Annual membership was an accident. For that reason, I have gone ahead and refunded you the difference between an Annual membership and Quarterly membership, and terminated your subscription so that you will not receive any more boxes from us :)

To clarify our Annual subscription cancellation policy we typically do not refund Annual memberships as they do afford a discounted price per box as well as allow for other perks, such as customization, that are not available to Quarterly members. In your case, we were able to terminate and refund the difference because you were only intending to receive one box, and purchasing the Annual membership option was a mistake.

Paid months ago. Shipped to incorrect address. $11.49 postage due when finally delivered, refused order. Contacted causebox they said they never received back but I had the tracking. Said they would send another but they sent to incorrect address again. Requested a refund and was told they do not do refunds.

Cause Box is mainly concerned with getting your money and keeping it, no matter your satisfaction level with their service or products. They rely on a subscription model in which they do not allow you to cancel regardless of the number of remaining boxes you have. They rely on auto renewals, and presumptively, the fact that you'll forget to cancel. Their customer service is slow in responding. Stay away from this service.

Subscription box ordered on August 25th. The goods have not been shipped and the company has not responded to my inquiries.
I ordered a fall box from the subscription box service Causebox on August 25th (no order number was included in the email). The price of the box was $54.95 and I paid through paypal (transaction ID B-***). The website indicates that boxes are shipped within two weeks of order. It is now October 4th and the box has not been shipped. I have sent several emails to the company inquiring about the status of my order. The only communication I have received from the company is a generic email that indicates that an item included in advertised box was no longer available and would not be included in the shipped box. I can find no information on their website about my order's estimate ship data and the my efforts to cancel the order with the company have been unsuccessful. The customer service has been severely lacking.

Desired Outcome

I would like my order (which is unfulfilled) to be cancelled and for my payment of $54.95 to be refunded to my paypal account. I would like my account with the company to be closed.
