First off, all great things to say about my lawyer, Diana Megalla Right off, even though she had to take over my case within a week of my first court appearance, she was on point, familiar with all the details and nuances of the case (and I had supplied a *pile* of info) Throughout the entire case, Diana was extremely knowledgeable; helpful (guiding me towards/away from actions based on experience and law); calm, cool and collected (even when I wasn't, at times); very professional, yet very personable I have been extremely fortunate to land such a wonderful attorney to represent me during this trying ordeal At every moment, I felt Diana was "on my team" - working with me, and listening to my views, thoughts and opinions as to what we should do - the direction we should take (or not take!) - and never "pushing" or "coaxing" me into something I didn't feel or think was right

The -star comes from my personal first experience with a legal firm, and may well be true of all firms - I don't know - these practices may or may not be representative of the whole legal establishment, or just Cordell & Cordell (my personal disclaimer) Billing is pretty "stiff" - you are billed for small portions of time (e-mails, phone calls, attorney time, etc.) Many small (necessary) correspondences can add up to a sizable bill While there are a couple of ways to cover the retainer and charges, unless I missed something, there is no option for a "payment plan", per se, and for someone with limited means, keeping up with the legal fees was difficult most of the time
