I used Albany office of Cordell & Cordell and while my attorney was very good the billing is ridiculous and now 1/months after court there are other issues
1.double billing - I submitted bills back to *** regarding double billing by the paralegal *** One of these bills literally consisted of *** billing for copies of paperwork while I was in court with my lawyer being handed the same thing Another example was my lawyer gave me transcripts of the case and *** kept getting copies and making them and sending them to me and charging me
many times I did paperwork and leg work and sent items to them that they also charged me for example was an email on 10/- when my lawyer asks me to call or questions I respond and get charged
my final court was done on 2/4/ It took 1/months to get the lawyer to file and when it was my wrong date of birther was used (that I told her she had wrong months previous) and I could not obtain a marriage license t

Throughout the litigation process my lawyer did not stay informed or up to date on my caseThis caused me to lose the caseI gave my attorney over pages of evidence to support my claim for custody and my lawyer failed to provide the opposing counsel the documents before trialShe emailed the other attorney the documents the night before trial and never attached a read reportWhen it was time for us to show our case and present our evidence none of it was used because the opposing counsel never seen the evidence and it was not submissible in courtMy lawyer did not start working on the case until the night beforeShe asked for a continuance and it was declinedThe evidence and requested documents from depositions should have been sent to the opposing counsel earlier than hours before trialWe submitted the requested documentation over a week before the trial began, The unorganized and last minute gathering of my case caused by my lawyer caused me to lose my case and I now

C&C was a friendly law firm that knows the law However, they are very new to Fairfax/Northern Virginia They do not have the reputation w/in the courts as some of the local law firms My attorney, ***  was very good and informed me of my rights I felt very protected throughout the process My case did not have to go to court If it would have gotten that far, I would not have been very optimistic given the unfamiliarity of the court system/judges in Prince William County (where my case would have been heard)Payments were a little confusing I thought C&C overcharged at times I don't think it was my attorney, but more the business of C&C My case was very slow moving Sometimes w/out any movement for a month or two or three However, I would get charged every month for a letter that my attorney HAD to send to me - via email and then via regular mail Basically saying nothing
