March 12,
To Whom it May Concern:
CrossState Moving and Storage is in receipt of your letters dated 2/10/14, in regards to a consumer claim that was made by the above-identified client, regarding a move that was carried out for the customer
Cross
State moving and Storage carried out the move according to the estimate/order for service that was providedFor local moves, we do charge based on an hourly rate and we have a travel time fee that we charge to get to the customer's location and back to our officeThis job was supposed to have a men crew, and it was a mon our endThis is why the rate was a reduced rate in the first place, which the customer agreed and signed for before starting the jobThe quote that *** is referring to is the minimum number of hours that we charge to come out to the location, we sign in when we arrive and charge until we finish the jobWe do apologize if the supervisor who the customer spoke to on the day of the move did not address the issues in the required manner
At this time, we are willing to offer a $credit just for any inconvenience or miscommunication she experienced as a courtesy
Attached with this letter is the order of service that specifies what the payment terms areHer

12/19/Dear ** ***:This letter is in response to the complaint of *** ***This was a local move which we charge by the hourThe minimum charge for this move is hours of labor and a travel time fee of one hour, each additional hours are charged at the hourly rate of $139/hr
If the customers decides during the move that they don’t want to pay for any additional hours or wrap any furniture before being loaded on our truck, this will surely cause problems as such in this caseThe movers are hard workers and are professional movers and they do have to be careful with the items moved, so no damages occur (so she will not have something else to complain about...), the customer knew that this is for hours and that additional hours are charged at the regular hourly rateTapes are used to secure blankets which are used to secure the wooden items that the customer is moving, again, so no damage occurs to the itemsShe did sign the material price list before and knew that we charge additionally for any materials used during the moveThe policy of the company is to receive payment before unloading the truck and her refusal to pay for the service, as to our policy is to take it to the warehouse until payment is received (this is a business, and just because you don't feel like paying for something doesn’t give you the right not to pay for services performedWe will not offer this customer any credit, as she was charged correctly by the crew.Thank You,

5/8/Dear *** ***:
This letter is in response to the complaint of *** *** *** hired a professional moving company to move her items locallyShe came to a marketing coupon that we had on *** that specifies the cost and the number of hours, number of crew members,
allotted for this couponUpon reservation, and on the estimate, we stress that we work on an hourly rate and charge according to the final number of hours the job will takeThe minimum hours of this particular coupon was for a two men crew hours of moving time, a travel time fees/truck fuel fee of $which is $and any additional hours are charged at $139/hour for a two men crewPacking supplies are NOTincluded in the quote and are an additional cost should there be any need to pack or wrap any fragile or delicate furnitureSince we do provide liability coverage with the move, it is mandatory should the customer want to take any fragile or delicate items on the truck that they be properly wrapped/secured before loaded on the truckThe quote and all of our charges are spelled out on his order of service which she in fact received via email, by phone and signed on the day of the move as well. Our company charges by the hour, just like other moving companies and we employ professional movers who work hard to get customers items moved, the fact that she called the police and held up the crew for about an hour is ludicrous and she should pay for that time as we do charge by the hourWe were able to give her a $discount on the day of the move for “Military Discount” as she claimed her husband was in the military, although he was not there to show an IDThere will be no other refunds as we have done everything we can for this jobRegards

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response for two reasons:
The business stated that the movers were simply being "friendly and courteous" and that I must have mistaken the intentions of the moversI wholeheartedly disagree and was by no means mistaken when Armando asked to exchange personal cell phone numbers so that we can remain "friends" after the moveThat in my opinion is going far beyond friendly and courteous not to mention it made me quite uncomfortableThe extra hour charged after the original payment was SOLELY due to the movers taking an extremely long time to wrap only a few pieces of furniture and was seen taking long breaks standing outside of the truckI understand the need to wrap and secure items but the pace in which they did so was unacceptable Not to mention, Armando's attitude shifting from "friendly" to rude when I rejected his advances and urged him to complete the move within the expected timelineThe business showed absolutely no regard for either of my concerns and made no serious attempt to compensate for the poor service delivered

7/10/Dear *** *** ***:This letter is in response to the complaint of *** *** which was submitted on 07/07/ID # *** ***This is not the first or second response to her claim to the Revdex.com it should be notedThe customer did come to us through a marketing
campaign we had with a coupon providerThe estimate the customer is referring to is merely the minimum charges that we charge for the coupon with the number of hours that the coupon was purchased for at the timeSince our company, such as 99% of other moving companies, charge by the hour, it was noted on her contract that any additional hours, or packing supplies/materials are not included in the purchase of that coupon (it is also specified on the coupon itself)She is saying that she had put in a claim for lost or damaged items, which, finding it difficult, that this was a local move, that anything could be missing but nonetheless, we do have a claim department that handles these claimsHowever, the customer, also disputed the charges with her credit card company, and was unsuccessful with that claim, as the credit card issuer sided with our company after seeing all of the evidenceShe cannot expect to dispute her payment, trying to avoid payment to the company and at the same time try to file a claim to get even more money from the companyThere will be no refund given to this customer, however if she does want to continue with filing a claim for her “damaged” items, she can do so by calling our company and filing a claim to see if it is still in the timeframe of the claim procedures.Thank You,Cross State Moving Management

carried out the move according to the estimate/order for service that was providedWe regret that the customer did not have a good experience with our company and some of her things got damagedIt is unfortunate, but it something that does happen from time to time, especially with today's quality of furniture which is made out of pressed wood (***)This is why we have Liability coverage in placeThe customer informed us already and we have communicated with them that they must file a claim with our claims departmentShe has a liability in place, not paid, for cents per pound per itemShe has been given all the necessary information to file the cliamWe will not reimburse her for the work we did, only because a few of the many items she had had little damage.Sincerely,Cross State Moving

7/10/Dear *** *** ***: This letter is a second response to the complaint of *** *** Which was submitted on 06/27/ID # ***Customer had already received her items, but claims she has not received part of her bed frameCustomer already contacted our company and is already filed a claim with our companyThis matter should be closed.Thank You,Cross State Moving Management

7/11/Dear *** ***:This letter is in response to the complaint of *** *** which was submitted on 06/27/ID # *** *** hired a professional moving company to move his items locallyHe came to a marketing coupon that we had on *** that specifies the cost and
the number of hours, number of crew members, allotted for this couponUpon reservation, and on the estimate, we stress that we work on an hourly rate and charge according to the final number of hours the job will takeHe is complaining that the crew wrapped his furniture and took apart delicate furniture legs, so they will not get damaged on the truck (if we didn’t, and the items were damaged, than we would be hearing a complaint about damages perhaps)A moving company has a liability to make sure that items are protected so they arrive at the same shape they are in once being picked upWe apologize for any miscommunication he may have had with the company, however, for Someone who is putting down people because they speak nor read any English, he is not doing so well, as everything was explained on the contract he signed as well.We will be offering no refund to this customer, as he received the service that he paid for.RegardsThank You,Cross State Moving Management

12/19/14Dear *** *** ***:This letter is a second response to the complaint of *** ***The claim check does take a while to process and could take up to business days to arrive from ourcompanyWe did verify that a check was sent (attached copy) and she should

7/10/Dear *** ***:This letter is in response to the complaint of *** *** which was submitted on 07/01/ID # ***He is claiming that he should not be charged for additional hours of loading and unloading his items in our warehouseThis was explained to him on the day he
made his reservation as well as on the contract that we charge for the hours that we workThe customer decided to take advantage of our one month free storage policy as their apartment was not ready on the day of the move out dateActually, its rather common sense at this point, if he was to take it to his storage, since he already acknowledged and understood the way we charge (by the hour) than if he was to take it to his storage facility (public storage) he would be charged for our crew unloading the items at the facility, as well as for his second move, with loading the items on the truck from that facilityWe do have a minimum, hours labor time and a minimum hour truck/travel/fuel fee that we charge...the only additional charge which was mistakenly not put on the move out was the hour it took the crew to load the truck from our facilityYes, this was done in error, but was told to the customer on the day of the move, not after the move completedAnd just because there was an error in the move out paperwork that was initially sent to him, does not mean that he should not PAY for that time and service he was providedWe hope to learn from every move and every customerThe service was provided to the customer, no refunds will be issued.Cross State Moving Management

We'll discount you're next move that's it." The same guy, his name is Sam also said, "what's the big deal in getting a u***, you knew you were moving already", Sam also told me to go to C*** and hire moversI will never use this companyDon't recommend, all I want is reimbursement for my U*** and house CleaningSomeone, please take me seriously!!!! Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I have invested considerable time and money to write Cross State Moving thru both an attorney and the Revdex.com, not to mention multiple email requests and calls to refute the damages I have sustained as a result of their carelessness and deceptive tacticsNote that I didnt receive a claim form for the damages sustained until 5/8/and received clarification on how to complete it 3-days laterThis after making written and verbal requests for said form on 12/2/14, over months agoAdditionally, the letter you have posted from Cross State is dated 5/10/15, which is days after my filing of this complaint on 2/8/As I stated to Cross State weeks ago, I will complete and return their claim form in the coming weeks and expect to receive a favorable - and more timely - response. The reason for my complaint-that hours were overcharged and time was unnecessarily spent knowing the rate of service-was not addressed at all by the company
I am asking for a partial refund on services that were erroneously and egregiously overchargedI will follow this matter with civil suit if not resolved through this meansRegards,*** ***

5/8/15Dear *** ***:
This letter is in response to the complaint of *** *** *** hired a professional moving company to move his items locallyHe came to us through a marketing coupon that we had on *** that specifies the cost and the number of hours, number of

A nightmare and I'm working on a Class Action Lawsuit!!!

8/12/14Dear [redacted]:This letter is in response to the complaint of David C. Jackson which was submitted on 8/12/14 ID # [redacted]. The move with [redacted] was scheduled with our company for an afternoon move. Unfortunately, on the day of the move, the crew which was supposed to come...

to his location got stuck with another job, which the client has misinformed us in regards to the size and scope of the job which took much longer than expected. This was told to the customer as soon as we found out and recommended him to find another mover, as we tried our best to come up to a solution but had no other trucks or crews available to assist with his move. Cross State Moving does reserve the right to cancel any move (as on the estimate, which [redacted] received). We do not rereimburse for lost time at work and searching for a new company. The cost of the move, would have been the same with cross state moving as we charge by the hour and according to the price [redacted] paid was not a small job either. We do apologize for any inconvenience; however we cannot offer [redacted] any solution, even now. We will offer [redacted] a $100 Credit to use with us towards his next move.Cross State Moving, LLCThank You, Cross State Moving Management

5/8/15Dear [redacted]:This letter is in response to the complaint of [redacted]. [redacted] hired a professional moving company to move his items locally. He came to a marketing coupon that we had on [redacted] that specifies the cost and the number of hours, number of crew members,...

allotted for this coupon. Upon reservation, and on the estimate, we stress that we work on an hourly rate and charge according to the final number of hours the job will take. The minimum hours of this particular coupon was for a two men crew 4 hours of moving time, a travel time fee/truck fuel fee of $139 which is $398 and any additional hours are charged at $139/hour for a two men crew. Packing supplies are not included in the quote and are an additional cost should there be any need to pack or wrap any fragile or delicate furniture. The quote and all of our charges are spelled out on his order of service which he in fact received via email, by phone and signed on the day of the move as well. As far as the tardiness of the crew, we have an estimated arrival time for our crews to arrive at the customer's location, he did have a 2-4pm arrival time but this is an estimated arrival time and is not guaranteed. Since he was an afternoon move, the company cannot be responsible for any late arrival because of traffic and previous moves could take longer to complete. However, the office did inform him that the crew is behind his original estimated time of arrival. Obviously, the fact that he bought a new house has no bearing on the price he paid, and is an exaggeration of the complaint for reasons we are not sure to be honest...In regards to his claim that he was helping the crew unload and unwrap blankets, he did that to speed up the move, which he is paying for labor on an hourly rate, no one asked for him to do it, but it was on his own behalf so he can save time and money on his move. There is no refund, as all of the charges were correct on [redacted]'s billRegardsThank You,Cross State Moving Management

I am rejecting this response because I was never told that the amount could change once it left my house. I was ok with paying the extra 1100.00 at the time we signed the papers after the truck was loaded. I am disputing that the cost went up an additional $1000.00 the next day. That is like buying a car for $10,000.00 and signing all the paperwork and then the next day the car salesmen calls you and says" Sorry we made a mistake and you owe us a $1000.00 more. I am sorry, but that is not how it works. I signed a paper with the extra costs for $1100.00 not for $2100.00. I budgeted this whole move around the cost of the moving co with a little to spare and the 1100.00 took me to that point. I am disputing the extra $1000.00 that I do not have.
Thank you,
[redacted]

I made a huge mistake & didn't do my research before buying a groupon. FYI- this company has an "F" on Revdex.com and it's for reason, to make a very long story short, I purchased. Groupon. Right from the get go, I was charged $130 for "travel time". On the day of the move, I requested the movers to come early. Not only did they not come early, but they were late. In addition. No one called me! When I called I talked to Ashley & she was extremely rude and offered nO apology, we were basically told that things like this happen all the time an we were asked if we would like to reschedule ? After not showing up & being hours late, we were forced to find another moving company the last minute.
Moving is stressful enough, but dealing with this company was horrible . Do your self a favor & don't use them!
