[redacted] In response to your inquiry:1. Derek has informed us he touched base with you and explained the delivery window of 8/*-8/**. As it was explained in his correspondence to you, the will confirm the delivery once the truck is loaded and leaves New York. see email below from Derek confirming. 2. Per the contract, full unpacking is included in the move. Derek has confirmed. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.  * Please see e-mail correspondence from Derek confirming delivery window:[redacted]
[redacted] In a couple of your reviews/emails you noted delivery is supposed to be 8/*.  I wanted to make sure you understood it was actually a delivery window of 8/* to 8/[redacted]You will get an updated delivery date with better idea of which day within the window once the truck leaves. We discussed this and it was on the original proposal that you agreed to.Finally, I wanted to apologize.  I regret that you came away from the move feeling you weren't responded to enough.  I take pride in my professionalism and don't like hearing such things, especially in so many places online.  If you look back at your emails, you will see that other than the weekend I was away at a wedding, you received responses within a couple hours of sending the email.  We even went back and forth multiple times the day before you posted the reviews! Anyway, I can't change the past but I just wanted to apologize for the impression of me that you left with.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to rectify the situation. I hope you enjoy your new home!Derek

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[The double-dresser offer amount of $350.00 is insufficient because the mirror is in my apartment, while the double is in Shlepper's possession. I cannot purchase another double-dresser with mirror for the price of $350.00. And, I cannot keep the mirror apart from the double-dresser, and am forced to discard it. Shleppers should reimburse me the total cost of a double-dresser WITH a mirror for the price of $750.  Moreover, I should be compensated for the some of the monthly storage that was diligently paid by me in the amount of $91.46  for 22 months, especially since I was being charged by the cubic feet of 231, and only 168ft were actually protected by Shleppers. The total proposed amount by Shleppers comes to $950.00. I am willing to settle this dispute for the amount of $1500.00

In response to #1:--        Confirmed. Our mailing address has not changed during this 3 month ordeal.  --        Please provide photographic evidence that the box is properly packaged. As you may recall, the previous package you sent (sans permission) was so “poorly packaged” that numerous items were damaged even after they were finally located. Let’s avoid that the second time around.--        Please overnight the box and provide tracking information at your earliest convenience. In response to #2&3:--         As mentioned, at nauseam, in previous correspondence, (which we are happy to provide), we did not take photos of the damaged nightstand, 2 floor lamps, and record player.  At the time, we were willing to see past these damages on the good faith basis that all of our remaining items would be found. However, after 3 months of unprofessional treatment by the Business, our good faith has run dry.In response to #4:--         Attached please find the invoice for the record player. The nightstand and 2 floor lamps were, as mentioned, shattered and thrown away (for obvious safety reasons). We are attaching a stylistically comparable lamp which is far cheaper from the two we bought. The nightstand was, as was our other bedroom furniture, purchased from [redacted] and cost approximately $200-$350.In response to #5:--        After receiving the wardrobe box and examining the contents/noting any possible damages, we’ll notify Revdex.com of any outstanding belongings.Note to Business:After attesting to countless, thorough searches conducted by the Business, we were informed repeatedly and conclusively that the box could not be found.Having been informed that all of our summer/spring clothing was inexplicably gone, we were forced to purchase replacements. On account of the Business’ misleading statements, we are happy to provide invoices for clothing bought over the past 3 months.Lastly, and quite significantly – the Business, self-admittedly egregiously mishandled this situation - not only with regards to service, but also in the mistreatment of their customers (us). After constantly being ignored, deceived and ultimately taken advantage of, we would very much appreciate that they reflect on this when considering their settlement amount. Thank You, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I was not told, or giving any type of communication that that I was quoted wrong.  I received a bill in March of 2015, saying I was passed due.  I was completely caught off guard,   This is textbook bait and switch by the salesperson.  I described with full disclosure all of the items that I needed to be moved and stored.  They replied makes no sense, THE Shleppers supplied three movers and the correct truck size that was required to execute my  move.  The three men and the correct size truck was done  perfectly for the furniture quoted to move The cubic sq feet was accurate for the truck size and the movers and the time allocated to get this job done. ( The truck and the movers performed in the timeframe that was given with no pickups are unexpected problems)  The salesperson, was able to professionally get my furniture moved in the right size truck with the amount of men.I was not notified of the increase,  I was only sent a bill  for months afterwards showing  a very different  monthly fee that I was quoted.  The quote for moving out of one apartment, switching furniture with my new apartment, and removing my then fiancés extras out of the apartment to the truck to be stored. This was not increased, this was the same fee that I was quoted.  If the anticipated more cubic square footage than what was quoted the mover should have reported extra items not disclosed. if there was a drastic increase in cubic square footage   how come the movers  and the truck provided the day of the move  was accurate  and flawless?    if there was a increase in items to be moved  I'm sure I would've had to pay more for the movers that day.I disclosed every piece  furniture that was going to be stored  and moved.   how is the day of events coded correctly  and the  storage  increased  by bills  four months down the road.    I was never notified I was only sent  horrific bill that was never taking care of .This is unacceptable.  But now,  they are threatening to sell my stuff at auction.  I really need help getting this bill resolved.  's Thank you,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have...

determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This amount is not acceptable. The value of my items which were stolen and damaged outweighs  $500.00. All of the boxes were opened and valuables were taken, the plastic bins were opened and items were removed. All of the items in the shopping cart were stolen, which consists of unopened albums worth at least a thousand dollars by itself. Tools were removed ,a bin that contains my son high school diploma and awards was stolen.Even the dogs crate was damaged and needs to be replaced. Your employees even destroyed  my computer desk, while unnecessary dismantling it. Even my I Mac computer was damaged, due to how your employees stack items for transport. Your company needs to respond with an offer that fits the replacement of my items.                              In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution could be satisfactory to me. The repairman has suggested replacing...

antique walnut with oak, which would not be acceptable. I want the broken pieces repaired so the integrity of the piece is maintained. The matter is not yet resolved, but I am hopeful.

We would like to make arrangements for payment to resolve the billing issues. We have reached out to [redacted] to discuss arrangements.

[redacted]We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us to discuss your concerns with your previous move. Our claims process is standardized with the rest of the industry due to liability constraints and regulations but we understand your frustrations and are happy to...

increase our claim beyond what we are obligated. At this time the full and final offer is $100.00Thank you

Response to Revdex.com Complaint: 1.Upper management has approved $1,000.00 as a final and good will settlement. 2. Unfortunately without full value protection from the client's homeowner's or third party, the max coverage on the move is $0.60 cents per pound per article as the contract signed states.3. We will also like to offer repairs for the wood pieces that are chipped - you will need to provide us with your availability to coordinate with our in-house carpenter. and provide a list of materials needed.  sincerely,  Shleppers.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Shleppers proposed to provide a "custom built crate" to protect our photo. That claim led us to select them over other carriers and pay them a significant amount of money. They pocketed that money and also benefited by not paying for the materials and labor to build the crate. If they did this intentionally, they committed fraud. If they did it accidentally, they should honor their contract and reimburse us for their failure to do what they charged us for and said they would do.The contract specifically stated TWICE that Shleppers would use a custom built crate to protect our photo. They didn't, and the photo was damaged because of their neglect and failure to honor their own contract. The damage due to their neglect was $3048.50. Shleppers' customer service and I spent hours speaking with multiple experts regarding repairing the photo. Every single one said that it can't be repaired and must be recreated. Shleppers proposal to send it to them to have it replaced doesn't make any sense and is highly suspicious; multiple experts told them and me that it was impossible to do so. Were we to accept their $1500 claim, we would have to pay $1750 to replace both the photo and our baby's mattress, which they lost. We should not have to pay $1750 for their failure to honor the contract that they proposed and drew up, especially when we have already paid them over $8000 for a contract that they broke. As for the "goodwill settlement", the contract states that they will pay 60 cents per pound for lost or damaged items. It also states, twice, that they will build a custom crate to protect our photo. Not only did they not build a custom crate, as they claimed they would, they didn't even use a crate. No where in the contract does it state that they will pay 60 cents per pound for their failure to honor their own contract. Using Shleppers Moving and Storage has now cost us $3250 more than the contract that we signed. Not only did they cost us far more than the agreed upon price, they also lost a mattress (which no mover should ever do and there's no excuse for), damaged a photo that they said they would take extra care to protect, didn't honor their contract by providing a crate for the photo, and management refused to speak with me when I asked multiple times to do so. As a small business owner, when a client of mine has an issue I call immediately. They, on the other hand, couldn't be bothered to simply speak with me. We feel that we are obliged to protect others from making the same mistake that we did and trusting Shleppers Moving and Storage. We left factual reviews on [redacted] and [redacted] and Shleppers threatened us by email that they would seek legal action against us if we continued to share the truth. They have not just been dishonest, they have now threatened us for simply posting factual reviews. Lastly, we negotiated with Shleppers for over two and a half months. In the end, they refused to replace the photo that was damaged because they didn't pack it in a crate, as they said they would. We have documentation stating that, if they did not replace the photo, we would leave reviews and do what we could to protect others from being taken advantage of as we were. Shleppers ended the negotiation and then we posted reviews. We did not post reviews while negotiating with Shleppers.Shleppers should not benefit from breaking their contract and not providing a custom built crate. We should not have to pay for their failure to honor their contract. Thus, we will not accept anything less than the $3250 to replace our photo and baby's mattress.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The $500 (12% of the moving costs) I am
requesting is more than reasonable given the time, energy and expenditures
associated with addressing the poor job the moving team did. The
most difficult part of the second half of the move was placing the large furniture
items on the second floor. My husband and I did the work over the course
of 3 days.  This included
dismantling the large pieces, moving them upstairs and re-assembling
them.  Furthermore, I incurred additional costs by having to pay the handyman
to wait on site for 3 hours as the movers did not communicate their arrival time to him
or to me.  And finally, I have spent
several hours over the past month documenting the problems with the move in
writing and via photos (sent to your customer service representative) and attempting
to contact your office.
Your response to my complaint overlooks the fact
that Shleppers is in breach of contract given that the movers did not perform
the duties that are clearly laid in the contract that I signed.  This is not about "scheduling" or
"expectations.”  The contract states:  “(3) Shleppers will disassemble and
reassemble all of the furniture being moved unless otherwise requested.  (5) Shleppers will set up your furniture in
your desired locations.”  Shleppers failed to fulfill their contractual
obligations.

I have reviewed the response made by the...

business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Two losses ---my doctoral degree and oil painting --- are irreplaceable.  The damage to a lamp, desk chair and framed license amounted to a replacement costs over $400.  Schleppers should acknowledge its GROSS NEGLIGENCE in this move and offer a settlement that is proportionate to my losses.   $100 as a settlement figure is unacceptable.

Final Settlement: 1. The customer was offered a settlement of $40.00 in the initial response for the snack table (#3), the customer is requesting the same item again, is the customer's response a refusal? Acceptance? Customer to please submit a clear response.   2. The customer states the items were not in the same condition she sent them in and discarded them. See #4 from initial response. Shleppers should not be liable for items disposed by the customer. 3. If the charges are being disputed, is it not a conflict of interest to claim double compensation on the same thing? We are trying to negotiate a settlement; we cannot negotiate and do a chargeback as well. If the customer decides to pursue the chargeback for the items claimed, then our settlement offer #1 will be voided. The customer to notify us of her decision. 4. In response to the missing items, as indicated in the previous response the customer made an arrangement with Shleppers employee, no additional compensation.

Dear [redacted] We are terribly sorry that you had a negative experience and appreciate you taking the time to submit your claim and work with us to resolve the issues. Though moving liabilities are limited to 60 cents per pound per article and we are often limited in our ability...

to determine responsibility and cause, we would like to help rectify your experience by going beyond the terms in your agreement. Shleppers cares about its customers and doing what it can to remedy poor experiences. The previously offered amount of $150.00 is our full and final offer.Thank you
