I am rejecting this response because it is not even half of the amount required to repair the damage to the structure of the deck.  The product bubbling is half of the issue, the shoddy workmanship by Deck Helmet workers is the other half.  I sincerely expect you to stand behind both your workers and your product.

I contacted deck helmet over a year ago with respect to an estimate for coating my deck. A representative visited my home and was initially respectfully. Once the estimate was given my wife and I made the decision to no longer move forward. The representative then began pressuring us to use their service after repeatedly telling him that we were no longer interested. Since then both my wife and I have received so many phone calls from deck helmet that it could be deemed harassment. We've told deck helmet repeatedly to no longer contact us. After each time we request that they stop calling they stop calling but only for a few weeks to a few months and then the calls begin again.

I am rejecting this response because:We signed our contract on March 3rd. By mid March winter was long gone and therefore work could have and should have been completed. When we signed the contract, your salesman, Egor stated that as soon as temps were above 35 degrees the work would be completed. Additionally, we stated that the work needed to be completed prior to mid-May because we were expecting a baby and did not want the chemicals used around our newborn child. You had 90 days to complete the work and weather was not a factor. If you would like a list of all high and low temperatures from the date that we signed the contract through today, I would be happy to provide that to you. Sure the winter was brutal, but we signed the contract as we were transitioning to Spring. The only thing stipulated in weather-related terms on the contract is that temps must be above 35. In fact, your contract specifically states, "Deck Helmet Inc. requires temperatures above 35F to apply Deck Helmet coating. In the event that temperatures fall below 35 f. Your Project will be transferred to Spring 2015 and will be completed by May 31, 2015." Your argument that the weather was a factor is completely invalidated by this very sentence in your own contract.As previously stated by your representative, Saul, over the phone, he said he would work with your accounting or finance (I don't remember which word was used as they are interchangeable) department and issue a refund. The only thing I will accept at this point is a refund. You did not hold up your end of the contract, the work was not completed in the timely manner that was promised and agreed to both in the contract and verbally with your salesman Egor, you do not return phone calls, and I cannot trust anything that you say. I will not deal with your company any further.

I am rejecting this response because:It is next week ,today is June 10th and I have not received a call to schedule ,at this point I am frustrated that my deck is not completed,had to postpone my daughter high school graduation party because of that,I just want a refund at this point because Deck Helmet has not held up their end of this agreement.

                                           Good morning, deck helment said that the items that was order, they sent someone to pick the order back up , the gentlemen that deliver the items, is the same                                               guy who came back to pick the items up, after we contact them' as to why did they deliver, the items without us having any knowledge, and withdrawing the                                               remaining balance out of our account; for a  deck that hasn't even gotten started on, which suppose to get started in early April, they came back around January the 17th                                               and picked the items up, that should not have anything to do with returning our deposit, as we said before we have a crisis that we are dealing with at this time                                              in our life and can not afford to get the deck done, and we may not be living here, and we are not replacing a deck to a home we may be moving out of, it was snow                                              on the ground when they deliver the items and snow on the groud when they came back and picked it back up, the deliver guy said he didn't understand himself as to why they sent                                              him to deliver the items so early and then have to come all the way back to pick it  back up, he said that home depo will just restock it, that's what they normally do, again                                              we want our deposit of $2, 475 return" their items was return and we like our funds return, again we can not afford to get the deck done at all. thank you for giving us                                               opportunity to address our crisis if you need to speak with us please feel free to contact us at ###-###-####                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Thank you

I am rejecting this response because in my opinion, Deck Helmet is still not providing me with the discount pricing that was advertised in the [redacted].  The advertisement clearly has a clip out coupon with the "deal of the century" pricing of 50% off (see attachment).  The estimator provided two verbal estimates for two different options:  $6950 for the full deck and $4900 for part of the deck.  I had not discussed the fact that I had the coupon from the advertisement with the estimator and when I then showed it to him, he stated that he had already included the discount in the verbal quotes that he had given me.  I feel that providing verbal and not written quotes, and then claiming that the coupon discount that had not yet been discussed with the estimator was included in that verbal estimate, was deceptive and misleading.  When I contacted Customer Service afterwards to complain about this, the representative of Deck Helmet claimed that the estimator had reported that he had given me more expensive quotes and then applied the discount.  This is not the case.

I am rejecting this response because: The one time a manager wanted to come by to inspect the deck, he left a VM to say he was 25 minutes away from the house. You need to call more than 24 hours in advance for a day and time to come by. My wife and I are working, and have two kids...don't expect that we are home 24/7 waiting for someone at Deck Helmet to come by! Needless to say, we were told by a representative from Deck Helmet that that manager still came by to inspect the deck. What's the point of coming over to inspect if my wife and I weren't there. We were the ones who requested to have a manager come by so we can voice our concerns and physically show the poor results of the work done to our deck. Today (7/8/14), the same workers came over without a call from Deck Helmet "to do work" on the deck.  We do not appreciate at all that they come unexpected to the house, and how do we know that they know what ALL the issues we have with the deck that need to be fixed? We are so frustrated, unhappy, dissatisfied with the professionalism and work ethics of Deck Helmet. The work must be done and to our 110% satisfaction, a discount must be given for all the frustration and inconvenience Deck Helmet has caused, and please communicate and LISTEN to your customers better!

As we have posted in our complaint, Deck Helmet has had their chance to fix the issues and now the contract is not only SIX months past due for completion, it was not completed as they advertised to begin with.  Both my wife and myself have taken multiple days off of work to schedule these reviews and Deck Helmet has not shown up to any of them. I told Deck Helmet back in June that I was home after 4 on every day of the week all year the first time they asked us to do a "site review".  Have they been out once?  No.We've taken time off for the employees to show up and do the job, several of those occasions they've not shown up.  Then one time they do show up, it's at 8AM Saturday morning with power tools. They don't even bother to call saying they weren't coming.  I have email after email, over 100 pictures of bad work and damage to my decking and property, and Deck Helmet's own contract and checklist saying they'd complete the work in 90 days. One of their employees was disrespectful both in talking to me and rolling his eyes at me while on my property.  This has been a bad experience from the get-go, and as we have posted before, Deck Helmet will no longer be welcomed on my property.The damage to the decking includes Deck Helmet cutting 1/4 of wood off of the side of the deck planks.  This damage is irreversible regardless of how many site inspections they want to do.  Are they going to glue the wood back on the deck?I can provide photos to evidence the damage and poor workmanship if it helps.
