Ordered a free product & was billed for it.
I ordered a cream from Dermaset (Order #XXXXXX) that was advertised as a free sample in all the adds they posted. The ship date was 3/3/2018. I paid the shipping amount of $4.95. I was billed at my bank for $179.00 before the end of the month. I NEVER authorized payment for this FREE SAMPLE! This has caused me to be over drawn in my account costing me overdraft fees of $35, & no longer have money for food, gas, or bills! I am on disability & would never pay $179.00 for a cream, AND it is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT! Only ordered it because it was advertised as FREE. There is no product number shown on paperwork, just Anti-Aging Dermaset.

Desired Outcome

Repayment for product and the overdraft fees. ALSO want them to STOP advertising this as a FREE SAMPLE then saying AFTER the fact that it is a 30 day trial!!

We are very sorry about your disability. You requested the return instructions which were emailed to you. You were given until 05/01/2018 to get the product back to us for a full refund of $179.00. We did not know you never read our Terms. We try to have them in as many places as possible.
We never advertise samples.
We also send the Terms by mail with the product. Please review how our trial works:
We let customers try our products for up to 30 days just by paying shipping and handling. If you don't see any results within the 30 days, you can send the product back and you will not be charged for it. If you decide to keep the product or whatever is left from it, you will be charged in the amount of $179.00. The trial is designed for people to try the product. That is the only reason we offer our product before the actual payment.
THIS IS NOT A FREE SAMPLE AS STATED IN THE WELCOME LETTER THAT IS INCLUDED WITH EVERY INITIAL PACKAGE.
We do not adverse samples.

This is a scam of the worst kind
They use a bait and switch and when you try to return the product they tell you they will send a collection agency after you. We cancelled our credit card so they cannot charge us and filed a dispute with our credit card co. They have threatened to submit this to a collection agency.

Desired Outcome

they need to pay postage for return of the trial. The postage costs more than the 4.95 scam price.

To whom it may concern,
We at DermaSet provide excellent customer service. Mr. called on 3/29/2018 and wanted to return the product. We have never billed his credit card. The client was only charged for shipping of our product. There are no other charges at all. We immediately emailed an RMA and now awaiting for the product to be returned. We are always available to our clients and do not see any reason for this complaint.
We have our Terms everywhere on our website and we do not hide our Terms, we send them by email and by mail and we send our very expensive product for the clients to try for 30 days, just for the shipping cost. If the client likes the cream, the client keeps it and pays for it, if the client is not happy, the client simply returns the used tube.
Mr. requested to return the tube. Where is the scam? Mr. was not charged anything for the product at all.

This is s bait and switch scam of the worst kind. They threatened us with a collection agency to collect 179. Bring it on. We will fight this

However you DID see a PENDING transaction in the amount of $179.00 which DID disappear within 24-48 hours. is an automatic security measure known as pre-authorization that occurs with every order placed for DermaSet. Please see our terms and conditions.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but your bank id not have to cancel your card. The pending transaction disappears on its own.
As we have stated in previous communications, you were only charged $4.95.

They have taken me collections when I have tried to contact the company to return the product and their number was disconnected. They trick and trap
This companies business model is based on tricking and trapping the costumer. I initially was under the assumption that I was receiving a free trial of the product and was only paying shipping costs. After 30 days they charged my account $179 and kept charging it every 60 Days after that while sending me new product. I tried to contact the company after I was charged $179 with the number on my credit card statement and the number was disconnected. I had no way of contacting them. I called my credit card company to report it as fraud since I couldn't contact the company myself. They told me that they would look into the company and get back to me about my dispute. After a couple months they sent me a letter informing me that my dispute had been resolved and that I no longer was being charged. I figured that there wasn't anything else I needed to do from there. Then I received a letter in the mail from dermaset informing me that they were taking me to collections over the amount of $392.95. I contacted them with the number provided on the letter telling them that the product that they've sent is still unopened and I am willing to return it. I also asked for their tax if number which they wouldn't give and she was yelling at me and explaining that since I disputed the charge they will no longer work with me and the rude lady hung up on me twice. I called again and spoke with *** S. the manager and she was just as rude and wouldn't allow me to even speak. She gave me the collections number and I called them. They said since I wouldn't pay they are going to inform the company and file litigation against me.

I would like to return the product that they have sent that is still in box unopened. I would like them to refund my charges after they receive the product. I would like them to fix my credit that had been damaged due to sending me to collections. I would like a full refund but am willing to work with them only if my credit can be fixed. I'm

We apologize that Mrs. did not find our contact phone number to return the products on time. We have our phone number on the credit card bill that client received, XXX-XXX-XXXX. We also have our phone number on our websites and on the 4 emails that were sent. We provide excellent customer service and have no record of the client contacting our company. We have two disputes from the visa.
We would have been very happy to accommodate Mrs.. The client did contact us three months too late. As it states in our Terms and Conditions:

7.5 If you initiate a dispute or charge-back against Company for a charge, or if an alert of the same is detected, your account will be closed, any refund/return authorization privileges are hereby revoked and your product deemed unacceptable. Upon receipt, your product will be refused and sent back to you. You will be held responsible for any fees that Company incurs from said dispute or charge-back.
We have our contact information everywhere, but we are not able to help if we were not contacted.
After the charge-backs were done it is too late to return the product. As it states in our Terms, you can only return the product, if there were no charge-backs.

At this point the account remains outstanding for the amount of $392.95.

Complaint taken over the phone by Revdex.com/Staff JL.Consumer ordered product from this company assuming it would only cost $9.99 on December 24. 2017. When consumer checked bank account the amount had not been withdrawn when she checked again the amount was a total of $223.95 and she immediately disputed the charges and called the company twice to cancel the order. Consumer also did not accept the product from the mailman. The company stated they refused to take the product back. The consumer received a letter today from the company stating they were sending her to collections after she had cancelled the order.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Consumer would not like for this bill to be sent to collections and to have nothing to do with this company again.

The client ordered the product from our website 0n 12/24/2017 and was ONLY CHARGED $4.95 FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. On 12/28/2017 the client did the dispute with the bank. We provide excellent customer service and we stand behind our product, if client did not want to be part of the DermaSet team, all the client had to do was send the product back. The client did the charge-back instead. As it states in our Terms and Conditions, if there is a dispute the product is neither returnable nor refundable. The client is fully responsible for the $4.95 (shipping & handling) + $40.00 (dispute fee from the client's charge card) + $179.00 (the product cost) = $223.95.

The client balance is outstanding at this time, please review our Terms and Conditions:

The advertisement for DermaSet offers a 30 day trial, for the cost of shipping which is $4.95.. When the product arrives, it states that if you do not return it within 30 days, you will be charged $179.00 because the sample that you received is a 60 day supply) This is extremely misleading. I would go as far to call it False Advertising. I found the original Ad that made me want to try it, After reviewing it, I realized that it is written to make you believe that you are getting a free trial for only the cost $4.95 (for shipping). I am returning it without opening the tube. What a SCAM. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

We have our Terms on our website together with FAQ (frequently asked questions) and in the 1st email you received from us. We also sent the Terms in a letter with the product. We do not advertise samples. We advertise only the 30 days trial. We sent a very expensive product for you to try and see if it works. You only had to pay for shipping. We do not have false advertising and we are not a scam. Our company is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. You asked to return the product and received an immediate RMA for your return. We give 21 days for your convenience to return the product.
Your account will not be charged anything but $4.95, if you return the product. We know how good it works and we send the full 2 ounce tube for the trial.

this is almost 2 years old and I just received a collection notice....need to stop this

I ordered online....almost 2 years ago and they did not get the product to me on the date in which was due....we were called away in a emergency situation to Florida (we reside in Washington state) and were unable to get home until the later part of March 2016. Only to find their product box arrived about a week prior to our homecoming. Way after their so called trial limitation. I opened it and found to my surprise that they were trying to bill me anadditional $179.00 for the product that I had not received before I left. (their fault not mine) I called immediately to return the product and they were very snotty and said, I had reneged on my end of their so-called agreement (which by the way was not on the page ordered) and I was subject to pay. I tried to negotiate and even asked for a manager, (which they refused to give me) I let them know that I had not used the product, that it did not arrived as they had promise and continued to get nasty comments and then they hung up, on me and began to send nasty emails to collect. I tried on several other occasion and they would not answer my calls, nor would they return any when I left phone numbers. Then Today, I get a collection notice. I believe this is wrong. I never used the product, Tried to send it back...un-used...and finally threw it away after a year. Need help. Please Help.

Would like the harassment to stop , no further letters sent, and our name cleared, please. After my run in last year, I find them incorrigible and would like not to have to deal with them again, after such a long period of their lack of business ethics. When you promise a product to be mailed by a certain time, you expect to receive it. And if there is addition cost, that needs to be disclosed on the front page of their ad. Not in the fine print, on your delivery sheet. I understand that we are not the only ones who have had a run in with them. They are at fault, not I.

We then, tried to bill your credit card and it failed. We sent the letter and an email in an attempt to collect the outstanding amount. We received no response. As you see this is almost 2 years old. Their date of order, is the date of the 30 day trial. My husband and I left on February 22, (emergency) The product was still not here, I returned on March 23rd, the product was here, and there was no notice as of yet, I called them, and sent 2 emails upon which they did not respond to any of them, My Credit card was shut down, because our bank flagged them as fraudulent while we were away. I am thankful for this, as they would have taken the $179.00 without my knowledge and we would be fighting a different war.
Again, I will indicate, they did not return my calls when we returned, then I hounded them and finally got thru only to be ruddy treated with their response being " you were given 30 days and there is no grace period. The 30 days began on their invoice date, not when we received the product. I tried to let them know we were called away for an emergency and would just return the product, but they would not work with me. The product had not been opened, was still in the box. They treated me like a criminal who trying to scam them and I was clearly upset at their lack of customer service. Seems to me all they care about is their precious $179.00 Which un-nerves me that anyone could charge something for such a small product.
I would never recommend this company, and Have made my voice sound to woman everywhere to never order anything, from them, as they will be taking money rather quickly with no guarantees what-so-ever.
I could have understood had they not sent the product in a timely fashion and if they would have been willing to work with me. But they did not care, I even explained the nature of the emergency, and they could care less. If a boys life is not important to them, then, what does that say about their company. I am sorry, about this situation, but again. They did not work with me what-so-ever. All they can give you is what they put in their files, Their terms and conditions, were not clearly posted on their site, I even went to find it after I finally got thru, and if you were not looking with a fine point nail, you would would miss it as many woman I have talked to have done as well. The first I knew of the $179.00 bill was on my invoice that they sent me, again late.....and I was shocked and ticked off. That's when I began my calling and emails. Their response to me, You never called, or I never tried to return the product or email them. You cannot return a product or try a product in the 30 days if you don't have it. I cannot indicate strong enough their lack of integrity and customer service. Had we not flown out on the 22, this young man would not be alive today, His life is worth more then their precious $179.00 that they are *** bent on dragging out of me, for something I never used. or got the chance to try.

Forget communication with this company, a total scam. I returned their " trial" tube, it was REFUSED, chase bank has had so many complaints about them, she already knew what happened when I disputed the 179$ charge. Now they claim I owe 219$, except I do not. They give every legit company a bad name. Their product is comparable to jergens, still laughing how insane they are. Florida attorney general is my next letter.

Dermaset sent me a tube of skin care cream - when I attempted to cancel the order - they insisted that I could not cancel it.
Part of the problem was that my husband died in *** of 2016 and I was emotionally unable to deal with this issue. I tried to cancel the service after they sent me one tube. They didn't send me any more of the product but after quite a lot of time went by, they hired a collection agency named "Accounts Receivable" to collect $571.90 from me. I got a call from AR today threatening to start collection activities against me, and in despair, I went ahead and paid it over the phone with my credit card.

I don't expect any resolution from the business since they have already given the debt to a collection agency.

Mrs. Harscha did two charge-backs and fully responsible to pay for it. The charges came from the disputes that the client did against our company.

The client owes our company $392.95.

After the bait-and-switch offer of a $4.95 tril offer suddenly turning into a $180 automatic payment after 30 days, I have contacted customer service twice - talked to *** the first time, *** the second - and asked for the address to return the trial product & stop the impending $180 charge. Though I gave them my email address twice tp send this information to me, I am still waiting for the address so I can return the product. I am starting to think this is a scam and they are deliberately stalling so my credit card will be charged the full amount after 30 days..
