***:We received your message in regards to your charge of deceptive practicesFirst, at the top of each and every page on our site is a large banner that reads: "DMV.ORG is a privately owned website that is not owned or operated by any state government agency."Second, DMV.ORG does NOT accept, nor does it process any DMV-related applications (licenses, titles, registrations...)It instead provides each state's DMV information in an organized, easy-to-follow manner with direct external links (online registrations, application forms, appointments...) to each state's respective DMVAnd it does offer partnerships on some pages (driver records, car history reports, name changes...) with companies that provide service optionsAnd third, DMV.ORG does not block users, or, as you say, redirect input back to its site, preventing access to the CA DMV Search CA DMV and the CA DMV tops all search engines, providing unfettered access to the state siteYes, you will find DMV.ORG farther down the search pageBut DMV.ORG doesn't hide the fact it's not the state siteEvery site link is clearly tagged with "The Unofficial Guide to the DMV." [redacted] ***California car registration information, forms, and proceduresRegistration renewal information, new to a state, registering a new vehicle, and non operational.Hope this clears the air, as it wereRespectfully,***Visitor Support :) [redacted] [redacted] www.dmv.org

Hi [redacted] ,Thank you for reaching out with your review and complaintI'm so sorry that you feel you were mislead by our companyThat is not our intention whatsoeverWe are a private, non-government affiliated internet publishing company of DMV content and while we do have partnerships with companies nationwide to help simplify the DMV experience, we are limited to registration renewals, drivers education, study guides, legal referrals and insurance referralsWe do not have a partner that renews your licenseHowever, it's no secret that there are other companies out there that do show up in search engine listings near our website listings that provide a service in which you pay for a road advisors guideI want to confirm with you that we do not sell a PDF document guide for any DMV related task (the content on our website is free) and we do not work with any company that renews drivers licensesWe are finding that the charges placed by this other company are broken down into two different fees around $and $While we are not affiliated with this company in any means, because their company listings show up near our company listings in search results, it's very easy to click on the wrong oneDespite everything here, I want to work with you to see if I can help resolve this as this is a challenging situation for everyone involvedAt 10:10am Pacific time, 2/13/17, I sent an email from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]" with the following note requesting information about your paymentSpecifically, I requested:*Amount of the charge*Date of the charge*Name of the company that shows on your bank statementOnce I have that information, I can look up the proper company that you did pay and refer you to their customer service department for a refundI can also provide you with instructions on how to properly renew your license through your state DMVHowever, shortly after I sent my email to you, I received a bounce back reply from your email server stating that the email address does not existI do hope that we are able to communicate via the Revdex.com so I can help you find the proper company and get this situation resolvedIf you'd like, please do reach out to me directly via " [redacted] "I look forward to helping you with this situation

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved Regards, [redacted]

Two weeks ago, my wife told me that while being on the DMV website, she noticed that her registration had gone from $to $The first thing I asked was "are you sure you are on the CA DMV webpage?" to which she replied "yes"A website that is called DMV.ORG would not immediately raise a flagIs like me creating a website called "redcross.com" which will be totally different that "redcross.org" which is the american red cross official websiteThere are disclaimers in the website that do state that it is a privately owned company, but this is the very reason they do thatThey realize that people will go in their website thinking that they are in their state DMV pageI am a software engineer and even I did not realize this until I was ready to pay and notice that my registration had gone up about 20% of what was on the renewal noticeAlso, why would I pay $vs paying $at my CA DMV page? What are they doing different?

The site is very user friendly

[redacted] ,I am sorry to hear that we will not be able to work together on this to resolve the situationI absolutely am on your side here and want to make sure that we get this looked into and resolvedI reached out to you directly as well from my personal email but have not received a replyI am willing to work with you to ensure that your fees are reversed and I do hope you will reconsiderOtherwise, your bank will work with you to resolve the charge with our partner. We clearly state what services we provide as well as not having an affiliation with the state DMV agenciesIf there is a way we can do this better, I'd appreciate your feedbackSincerely, [redacted]

Hello ***,
Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif line-height: 18px; background-">Thank you for reaching out to us about your experienceI'm sorry that you encountered the confusion with your purchase.I want to confirm with you that we do not sell a PDF document guide for driver's licenses, registration or any other DMV related taskThis means your purchase was made with a different company, not with DMV.ORG.I understand this is very frustrating and confusingWith similar subjects, it's easy to mistake our website with another DMV related websiteHowever, I want to assure you that we here at DMV.org did not take your money. We are finding that the charges placed by the other company are broken down in two different fees:$and $2.99This company makes it's money pretending it is the DMV but, as you have found, it sends you a "Guide" instead.Despite everything here, I want to work with you to see if I can help resolve this as this is a challenging situation for everyone involved. On your bank statement, please look to find the name of the company that charged youThis is typically located next to the chargeYou can also call your bank should you need assistance in locating the charge on your statement. Then, please reply to this email with that business name. I will then search online for this company's contact information to guide you to them and demand a refund.I greatly appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your replySincerely,

This website is misleadingI thought that I was going to my state's DMV site to pay for my tags and due to how incredibly misleading the site and web address areI paid more for my renewal than I would have, and it took linger to get than if I gone through my stateI understand buyer beware, but next year I will know that there are deceptive sites out there like this oneAlso they do not give you an option to cancel your purchase after you have realized that you have made a mistake by choosing the wrong siteVery deceptiveI wish I would have known that all I was doing was paying someone to file papers I could have done on my own for free

etter Business Bureau:
I cannot navigate to read this whole message but my request was only that the DMV.ORG clean up it's act with regard to the deceptive business practicesThey reference there is already a *** domain nameWhich indeed there is but they make it a lot clearer that they are not the PA DMVI'm not clear on why it is that DMV.ORG would need to go to there "business partner" to refund my moneyThey never mention on their web site that there is yet another company involved in the transactionWho are theyIt seems this other company makes it even harder for folks to resolve issues with this companyI never did click through to complete the transaction so no need to try to plead my case with this third party.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have
determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

We have been partnered with Background Checks for years and in our experience they are extremely responsive and offer a quality serviceInstances like theseare rare and we do our best to resolve them immediately once notified. DMV.ORG has been in operation for over yearsWe are the #auto related website in America and maintain an A+ rating with the Revdex.com. Also we have searched our records which show that our agent Jeff replied to your original request on January 15th, explaining we needed more information and that we do not sell any products or services directly. Currently we do our best to reply to everyone in hours or less, yet DMV.ORG gets over 120million people to the site a year and so the number of questions we receive is high, we're sure you understand. We are working constantly to improve response time and get it to withinhours. Thank You,*** ***Vistior Support - ***@dmv.org
