DMV.org Reviews (99)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
* *** I reject your attempt at placation as a hollow meaningless gesture to keep the accreditation of the Revdex.com I have disputed the fee amount with my credit card company and they have removed the amount and charged it back to your organization Your organization is a scam, you should be treated as a con artist and a criminal.
Regards,
*** ***

Hi ***,First let me apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you in your search to help out a co-worker. Please, allow me to clarify a few things: While we are not the state agency, we also do NOT accept payment of ANY type on our website, so I believe there may be some
confusion as to the site that charged you moneyPlease review your credit card statement to determine the actual source of the credit card chargesSecondly, we will be reaching out in another email to better understand the situation to see where we might be able to helpWe want to make sure that you (and your coworker) have an amazing experience on the siteFinally, we do have large bold text on every page of the website that outlines our mission and why not being a government agency is beneficial for usersShould you have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know. Thanks,***

Like others here I mistakenly assumed that this was an official government web siteThey claim that this fact is clearly spelled out in a banner on their site but on my device it was not visible until after the transaction when I scrolled down and realized my errorThe only way to contact them is by email which they say will be answered in hoursConveniently, it's just enough time for their charges to post to your cardI also tried to call the number listed here where they asked you to leave a messageAll of this adds up to poor business practices meant to deceiveMy next letter is to my State's Attorney GeneralPlease avoid these con artists

Hi ***,Thank you for taking the time to voice your complaintI'm truly sorry that you had this experience with our websiteI hope you'll give us an opportunity to explain who we are and help resolve this for you. DMV.ORG is an internet publishing company for DMV related contentOur
ultimate goal is to simplify the DMV processWe partner with companies that offer value added services to help save you time at the DMVWe do have a disclaimer on the top of our website stating that we are not affiliated with any government agencyWe're real folks and our intentions are not to scam anyone in any shape or formWe take complaints very seriously and look forward to understanding how we can improve our website for the future. That said, I will personally follow up with you to work on resolving the situation with your purchase.Sincerely,*** *** *** *** ***

Hi,Just want to notify you that this dispute ID *** was resolvedAfter complaining to multiple entities, the company has indicated that I have been refunded my fees less the payment to the DMV. That said, I will still note that their practices are extremely deceptive, charging
outrageous amounts for what are in every state free servicesEvery bit of the graphics on their site indicate that the purchaser is at a state DMV site especially since when Googling DMV for any state, their sites are what comes up at the top of any searchIt is a DMV.org, not a .com, so you also think that might be a government site if you are not as familiar with the internet. The disclaimer is at the top, is displayed in a way and in graphics where the eye does not note the disclaimerDisclaimers are usually found at the bottom of a pageBecause of this, consumers do not notice any disclaimer until perhaps after they have paidHaving taught graphic design at a university level, this type of deceptive placement is actually taught in my lesson plans, and even with that I did not notice. I have even paid online with the actual DMV previously and I was still caught out and fooled. This company should NOT have the Revdex.com logo prominently displayed on its websiteYour logo lends an air of safety to a web company who’s entire business model is based on deceptive, fraudulent practices.Sincerely,*** ***-***

Hello ***,Thank you for reaching out to us about your experienceI'm sorry that you encountered the confusion with your purchase.I want to confirm with you that we do not sell a PDF document guide for driver's licenses, registration or any other DMV related taskThis means your purchase was
made with a different company, not with DMV.ORG.I understand this is very frustrating and confusingWith similar subjects, it's easy to mistake our website with another DMV related websiteHowever, I want to assure you that we here at DMV.org did not take your money. We are finding that the charges placed by the other company are broken down in two different fees:$and $2.99This company makes it's money pretending it is the DMV but, as you have found, it sends you a "Guide" instead.Despite everything here, I want to work with you to see if I can help resolve this as this is a challenging situation for everyone involved. On your bank statement, please look to find the name of the company that charged youThis is typically located next to the chargeYou can also call your bank should you need assistance in locating the charge on your statement. Then, please reply to this email with that business name. I will then search online for this company's contact information to guide you to them and demand a refund.I greatly appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your reply.Sincerely,*** *** ***

Hi ***, Thank you for taking the time to submit your complaint for DMV.org on the Revdex.comI understand you are concerned about your personal information entered on our website and I want to address this with you to ease any frustrationWhile we are not the state DMV nor are we affiliated with
any government agency, we do work with advertisers and third parties to provide services on our websiteI will need to know which page you entered your information in order to make sure that we work with the proper party to remove your informationI will be reaching out to you directly with more information on how we can do thisIn the meantime, regarding our rating, we do not pay for the A+ and while it may seem hidden, there are some positive reviews in the mix that help us keep our rating. I look forward to working with you on this! All the best, *** ***Director of Customer Care

We replied to both of ***'s e-mails (6:on Monday and 8:on Tuesday) in a prompt manner explaining that we do not sell any services, nor do we accept or process applications for DMV-related materialsWe merely facilitate hinformation, directly linking to the actual state's
website.
We do, however, have vendors who sell on some of our pages.
In ***'s case she used our CA Registration Renewal pageOn that page is the vendor ***Based on her e-mail we assumed she registered through *** so we provided her with the company's contact information.
If she contacted them we do not knowIn her second e-mail she demanded a refundThe response was supposed to provide ***'s contact info again, but in checking now we see we inadvertently provided a link back to ur CA renewal page.
But in no way did we refuse to refund her moneyEspecially since we never took her money in the first place.
We're often mistaken for other website companiesIn such cases we often request that the customer provide us with the company name listed on their credit card statement associated with the purchaseWe then track down the company's contact infoWe'd be happy to help *** track down the contact info for the company that charged herBut, otherwise, as stated, we can't check her order since we don't accept ordersIt's just a matter of finding out who charged her

Hi [redacted],We apologize for the confusion and one of our Customer Care agents will reach out soon, but I wanted to respond immediately and clear a few things up:- DMV.ORG is a website publisher and we do not sell any registration services on our site- In fact, DMV.ORG does not accept payment of...

any kind on the website- We do partner with some companies that offer these services, which is where the confusion may come from. If you can look at your credit card statement to see the company that has actually charged you, we can help facilitate a refund. Thanks,[redacted]

Similar to the other reviews posted here, I was also tricked by the design of this website thinking that this is a government site. However I was charged a premium on renewing my registration when I could have easily done it through the ACTUAL website. BUYERS BEWARE!

Hello [redacted],
I am truly sorry that you encountered the confusion with our website. While we clearly state on every page of our website, on the very top in large letters with a white background, that we are a privately owned website not affiliated with any government agency, we...

understand that when you're in a rush, it may be overlooked.  I'm sorry that you feel you were mislead with our value added service partner. We strive to help make the DMV processes easier for everyone out there and partner with companies that provide services to help save you time. I will reach out to you separately to discuss the refund and work with you to make sure it happens successfully. In the meantime, just know that we're real folks behind the scenes here working to make the DMV a better system. We have no intention to scam you. If you know of a way we can do this better, I'd love to hear it. I look forward to working with you on this situation!
Sincerely,
[redacted] • [redacted]

This company's website is disguised as a government website and allowed me to pay for a registration renewal before I had my inspection had been completed. I am new to car ownership and was unaware that this shouldn't even be possible. I do not recommend doing business with DMV.org as they operate with very loose morals. I hope cancel my transaction with the company, however if they will not cooperate I will be sure to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

After giving Dmv.org our credit card information, "Bad Girls Club" Charged us the same amount DMV.org said they would.. Interesting.

[redacted], Thank you for bringing this urgent matter to our attention. We receive our subscription listings via [redacted]. I will personally make sure that the listing is removed from our website, as we cannot change the contact details because it is maintained by our vendor, [redacted]. I will...

reach out to our vendor to alert them of the situation as well. Please be on the lookout for a direct email to you from my personal address of [redacted]@dmv.org for further updates on the removal of this listing. You're doing amazing work here to help the company and save people from theft. I applaud you! All the best, [redacted]Director of Customer Care

This is a scam...please read reviews...I don't understand Revdex.com letting this go on with almost 100% negative reviews of them making money off us...please Revdex.com check this out!!!!

Hi [redacted], First, our apologues for any miscommunication that may have caused this issue. Secondly, DMV.ORG does not change for our website and we do not accept payment of any kind, nor do we process credit card transactions. I would suggest working with your credit card company to...

identify the company that submitted the charege. Additionally, our Customer Care team will be reaching out to assist.

Website stole information; It showed forms that were exactly like the DMV process but wasn't actually the DMV website. After submitting my information it then sent me to the real DMV website and I had to fill out the forms again. The website then had a popup add about viruses on my computer and wouldn't let me close the page because of a javascript alert.
The banner was not available until after I submitted the information and appeared to be the DMV website.

Your company shouldn't be allowed to be at the top of a google search & appear as a state's official dmv website. You fill in my state of Utah on your site to make it look even more official. I didn't notice until after I paid to change my address on my driver's license that I actually paid for a "driver's guide" that I did NOT want. I also didn't want to use your company's site. I wanted Utah's dmv site. Your site is cluttered & it is NOT clear that you're a 3rd party company. I want my money back ASAP!!!! And my payment canceled. My state doesn't even charge to register my address change. Your company is misleading and fraudulent and a scam. You should NOT have a A+ rating with the Revdex.com. Are you kidding me? I'm also mad I've had to waste time writing this review, emailing your company, and calling my bank. Of course there's not a phone # anywhere on your site. But conveniently it's listed on the Revdex.com's site. Your company is SHADY!!!

Hi [redacted],I believe you have been in contact with [redacted] from our Customer Care team and she explained that these charges were not from our company. DMV.ORG does not accept payment of any kind on our website, and the charges you mentioned were not billed by our organization. We apologize for any...

confusion and hope you were able to get everything resolved to your satisfaction. Best,[redacted]
