DMV.ORG has been in operation for over 10 years. We are the #1 auto related

This is nothing more than a website that scams people into paying more for a service already provided by their state DMV. At least this is true in California. It is a total ripof! I cannot believe the Revdex.com is associated in any way with these scammers. This also tarnishes the reputation of the Revdex.com.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

DMV.org, Why you were allowed to get this website name is beyond me. To be directed from a real CADMV.org site is just plain devious. I can just picture the so called management of this scrupulous site sitting around thinking about what to name your site and once you came up with the name, you were only thinking about how much money you are going to make by bilking honest people. My guess would be that you or are a former DMV employee and found a loop hole. Yes, your site has a disclaimer, but making your site look and act like the CADMV is fraud. Fool me once, its on me. I can assure that will never occur again and ill tell you that I will be telling everybody I know about your site and how this site is just another reminder that scams come in all shapes and sizes and are everywhere.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution. Please respond in this space ONLY]

I sincerely believe that they are purposefully deceiving the public and only hope that most simply allow them to defraud them and move on.  This is about principal  and every compliant Seems to suggest they know consumers are tricked by their false advertising and don't care.  It also seems that the Revdex.com is proactively protecting them

The site is very user friendly.

Hi [redacted],Thank you for reaching out with your review and complaint. I'm so sorry that you feel you were mislead by our company. That is not our intention whatsoever. We are a private, non-government affiliated internet publishing company of DMV content and while we do have partnerships with...

companies nationwide to help simplify the DMV experience, we are limited to registration renewals, drivers education, study guides, legal referrals and insurance referrals. We do not have a partner that renews your license. However, it's no secret that there are other companies out there that do show up in search engine listings near our website listings that provide a service in which you pay for a road advisors guide. I want to confirm with you that we do not sell a PDF document guide for any DMV related task (the content on our website is free) and we do not work with any company that renews drivers licenses. We are finding that the charges placed by this other company are broken down into two different fees around $19.99 and $2.99. While we are not affiliated with this company in any means, because their company listings show up near our company listings in search results, it's very easy to click on the wrong one. Despite everything here, I want to work with you to see if I can help resolve this as this is a challenging situation for everyone involved. At 10:10am Pacific time, 2/13/17, I sent an email from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]" with the following note requesting information about your payment. Specifically, I requested:*Amount of the charge*Date of the charge*Name of the company that shows on your bank statementOnce I have that information, I can look up the proper company that you did pay and refer you to their customer service department for a refund. I can also provide you with instructions on how to properly renew your license through your state DMV. However, shortly after I sent my email to you, I received a bounce back reply from your email server stating that the email address does not exist. I do hope that we are able to communicate via the Revdex.com so I can help you find the proper company and get this situation resolved. If you'd like, please do reach out to me directly via "[redacted]". I look forward to helping you with this situation.

I mistakenly used this website to renew my car's registration. I work full time and am a full time student as well, I don't have time to do these things in person. When I googled "renew car registration for Texas" DMV.org was the first website that popped up. I input my information and I was told I was being charged $87.50, cool. I received an e-mail saying Thank you. Your transaction was successful but no receipt was ever sent to me. I checked my bank account and saw "CAR REGISTRATION" charge of $87.50 pending, also cool. 3 days later I check my bank account and now the charge posted of went up from $87.50 to $96.25, not cool. I never authorized an extra charge of $9.25. THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT PROVIDE THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR INFORMATION!!

Hi [redacted],
Thank you for taking the time to voice your complaint. I'm truly sorry that you had this experience with our website. I hope you'll give us an opportunity to explain who we are and help resolve this for you.
DMV.ORG is an internet...

publishing company for DMV related content. Our ultimate goal is to simplify the DMV process. We partner with companies that offer value added services to help save you time at the DMV. We do have a disclaimer on the top of our website stating that we are not affiliated with any government agency. We're real folks and our intentions are not to scam anyone in any shape or form. We take complaints very seriously and look forward to understanding how we can improve our website for the future.
That said, I will personally follow up with you to work on resolving the situation with your purchase.
Sincerely,

This site is inherently deceptive and is not associated with any government agency. When you get directed to their page, it has the appearance of an ordinary DMV website and loads in a way that you you won't be able to view their disclaimer unless you scroll up. At the very least, the disclosure should appear immediately to anyone upon visiting the website as opposed to requiring one to extensively search through the website and scroll up. Frankly, the whole use of the DMV name standing alone in both the domain name and the company name is itself misleading - really, this is a private advertising company selling overpriced alternatives to using the DMV and are not associated with any government agency. Also, I worked with one of the website's approved partners to resolve an issue associated with a driving record and found their customer service to be rude. I'm shocked that the use of misleading and aggressive advertising tactics like these can manage to get Revdex.com accreditation, and it's pretty clear why this business has more than 90% negative reviews even on the Revdex.com website.

Horrible. Make sure you go the real DMV website.

Two weeks ago, my wife told me that while being on the DMV website, she noticed that her registration had gone from $83 to $117. The first thing I asked was "are you sure you are on the CA DMV webpage?" to which she replied "yes". A website that is called DMV.ORG would not immediately raise a flag. Is like me creating a website called "redcross.com" which will be totally different that "redcross.org" which is the american red cross official website. There are disclaimers in the website that do state that it is a privately owned company, but this is the very reason they do that. They realize that people will go in their website thinking that they are in their state DMV page. I am a software engineer and even I did not realize this until I was ready to pay and notice that my registration had gone up about 20% of what was on the renewal notice. Also, why would I pay $117 vs paying $83 at my CA DMV page? What are they doing different?

[redacted]:
We received your message in regards to your charge of deceptive practices.
First, at the top of each and every page on our site is a large banner that reads: "DMV.ORG is a privately owned website that is not owned or operated by any state...

government agency."
Second, DMV.ORG does NOT accept, nor does it process any DMV-related applications (licenses, titles, registrations...). It instead provides each state's DMV information in an organized, easy-to-follow manner with direct external links (online registrations, application forms, appointments...) to each state's respective DMV. And it does offer partnerships on some pages (driver records, car history reports, name changes...) with companies that provide service options.
And third, DMV.ORG does not block users, or, as you say, redirect input back to its site, preventing access to the CA DMV.  Search CA DMV and the CA DMV tops all search engines, providing unfettered access to the state site. Yes, you will find DMV.ORG farther down the search page. But DMV.ORG doesn't hide the fact it's not the state site. Every site link is clearly tagged with "The Unofficial Guide to the DMV."

Hope this clears the air, as it were.

[redacted],I am sorry to hear that we will not be able to work together on this to resolve the situation. I absolutely am on your side here and want to make sure that we get this looked into and resolved. I reached out to you directly as well from my personal email but have not received a reply. I am willing to work with you to ensure that your fees are reversed and I do hope you will reconsider. Otherwise, your bank will work with you to resolve the charge with our partner. We clearly state what services we provide as well as not having an affiliation with the state DMV agencies. If there is a way we can do this better, I'd appreciate your feedback. Sincerely, [redacted]

This is the first review I have ever written, which should reflect how passionate I feel that this business is HORRIBLE!!!! I too am a victim of being unaware that this was not linked to the government operated DMV and was not aware that I would be charged an extra $40 dollars in fees. The fine print is so small and that is how they reel you in. DMV.org, not to be confused with DMV.CA.GOV ( the real website for the DMV) claims to be a hassle free entity saving you time and whatever other nonsense you're selling. Well as a student, $40 dollars I would have saved if I hadn't been tricked is completely a hassle and a ridiculous scam. I will make sure everyone knows not to use this website. Thanks for a horrible lesson learned!
