reading a 4% probability of half-siblingship.  We also released the genetic data derived from the testing process so Ms. [redacted] would understand how we came to this conclusion.  We have suggested further testing, as Ms. [redacted] has notified us (post-test) that she may have new information regarding her relationship with the other tested party.  And as a laboratory we will also attempt to find a test to provide a solution to our patients questions.  This newly offered test was offered at an extreme discount.  DDC provided the correct test and we are lucky enough to help adoptees on a daily basis.  Unfortunately the type of testing that Ms. [redacted] chose, is not as concise as testing a potential mother or father, she only has a potential half sibling available for testing.  However our testing is far above industry standards and are the algorithms and processes prescribed by our accrediting bodies.

I have attached my results here. In fact if you look at my results, there are no outliers noted. what you report is that I am 100 percent european. Now that I have filed a complaint, you say, my DNA contains asian, indian and african. None of this information is shown in the report you sent me. And what you also say is the the genetic makeup you note here is the most common finding of the average user. This is simply a scam. How can you suggest that Indian, Aftican and Asian are part of my findings when you initially reported to me that my results are 100 European, and there were no outliers of any kind. I have attached my certificate here.

We have attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] via telephone unsuccessfully.  At this point, as a courtesy we will refund everything paid as a courtesy.  However the fees paid to livingsocial for this test are generally $97 and the upgrade would be $49.  If Ms. [redacted], would like to provide documentation of her fees paid to Livingsocial to us, as well as to provide an address to send a refund check we will provide a refund. Thanks,[redacted]

However, I have never received an email or better yet a phone call from DDC.  The only responses that I received have been through using the Revdex.com service. I was able to download the DNA results from the DDC website by using the password that they provided in their last response to Revdex.com.  Also, the DDC website is flawed.  Their 'Results Login' tab asks for a "User ID or Email address" in order to access the DNA results, but it should say "Reference Number or Email Address".  Entering my reference number worked, I was never given a User ID.Best regards,

purchased a AncestrybyDna test kit. I know what my ancestry is on both
sides, but was curious about any outliers. We are Indian, and Irish. So i
pay roughly 90. dollars and get back a DNA analysis that says I am 100
percent European. Is there any group or individual who is 100 anything?...


it is ludicrous. I would not encourage anyone to use this service.We are very sorry that this client is unhappy with our reporting.  We are at the mercy of the genetic data that is tested and are unable to adjust reporting based on the fact that a clients genetic profile falls into a specific category.  As we have discussed with this client in the past, the report does include confidence intervals which are established by searching the likelihood calculation and finding the highest and lowest values for each group that fall within the 2-fold likelihood range.  This client had a confidence intervals for indigenous American, East Asian, and Sub-Saharan African.  Again while we are sorry that this client is not happy with their reporting, we have to observe the integrity of the testing we do and report the data that is obtained from the samples collected.  Best Regards,ABD Client Services

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Again, this matter was not resolved. I guess that "buyer must be aware" when working with a business whose name is very close to another business's name. Especially when the other business is well advertised; this is like the fine print in a contract. Ancestry by DNA only gives cursory information about the geography of ones origin unlike the popular Ancestry.com and 23 and Me which provides country of origin; this is what I expected. Ancestry by DNA provides an inferior service, but is presented as equal to the others noted. I'm sure many other clients of Ancestry by DNA have experienced the sam frustration. A refund is expected.

First, they are not addressing me , but someone else, not even using my name, second, the only way to contact customer service is by using the contact form on their site, which I have used repeatedly, with no response. Thirdly, I received an email from the business stating they incorrectly sent a message stating I had results. As I am still unable to retrieve any results, I cannot pay for services not received.

DNA Origins test states "the breakdown is based on four percentage groups: indigenous American,  European–South Asian,  East Asian,  and sub-Saharan African. The analysis also comes with a manual explaining the process and human migration history.”  The Groupon presentation also includes access to our web site, which includes additional information including sample reporting.   Our company does not perform DNA testing to verify Native American tribal linage through ancestry.  We do test for Indigenous American. This population group is composed of people who migrated to inhabit North, Central and South America.   On the web site results page, the DNA Origins test link ("Download Your Certificate") is at the top of the page, and the Maternal lineage test link ("Download Personalized Certificate") is toward the bottom of the page. The test results should be in a different format and provide different information.   Each test is ran twice for accuracy.  We stand behind our testing, however we can offer you a DNA Origins test at no cost if you would like to retake the test. Thank you   Thank you
