I filed bankruptcy due to a domestic violence situation where I had to move and had my identity stolen. A family court judge in Los Angeles granted my address to be confidential from the stalker who perpetuated the violence against me and my baby. JUDGMENT ORDERED that my info is suppressed. I was told that I would only be found on Pacer which a person would have to sign into. www.Docketbird.com Mink LLC is making my personal information googleable, putting me and my small child in danger and making it impossible for me to build my life back up and is MAKING MONEY off my misfortune. Telling me that I have to send in more private information and wait 8 weeks before he will do anything.

I was told that there may be a class action lawsuit against Docketbird.com and Mink LLC for not having an opt out plan that does not cost money. I was also told that I should contact the local city and make a complaint here:

https://fortress.wa.gov/atg/formhandler/ago/ComplaintForm.aspx?fbclid=***

But I am going to see if Docketbird will honor my request to immediately remove it since it involves endangering a minor. Maybe they will show some ethical standards.

I filed bankruptcy in 2015 and have kept clear of this information being used on the internet. In 2019 Docketbird advertised my information to the public by just typing in my name on a search engine. I am humiliated. I understand this information is "public" knowledge, but they are making profits off of the victims of life situations and ultimately affecting our jobs. If someone wants to know information about someone, THEY can PAY to find things out, why do we have to pay to protect our information? I have paid the $59.99 to have my name removed and it hasn't been removed and it still appears in the google search. I have called their number numerous time, no one answers and no one responds to email, as their voicemail indicates to do. I'm furious!

I filed chapter 13. Docketbird has my bankruptcy as publicly advertised as such. I'm aware that a bankruptcy is public information, but I shouldn't have to pay $59.99 to have my name removed from their website advertising to then entire world that I filed bankruptcy. You can actually enter my name on Google and the second "hit" advertises my bankruptcy through Docket Bird. This is absurd. My reputation as a security consultant in government facilities is compromises by this information being so public open to anyone who enters my name on an internet search engine. I would like DocketBird to remove my name from their database without being charged $59.99. If it's not removed, next stop will be to my Lawyer to file a formal complaint and take the next steps.

Dear Revdex.com Team, I'm writing this complaint to bring to your attention the fact of the unethical business practices of DocketBird (docketbird.com). This company reveals my personal information to the internet world with the purpose of extorting money from me. They don't even have online opt-put removal requests like most companies do. In fact, they demand money for the information to be removed. This is obviously a scam. Their business model is embarrassing people online and putting them through the hoops of paying the company. I have used a prior complaint to make a point that this company is fradulent.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

This request was made LAST YEAR! 12/27/2019. I would like this information removed immediately. And a refund for the money that I paid to have this removed IN DECEMBER, 2019. You tell untruths when you say you can pay to have the information removed. I paid, and it was NOT removed. I want a refund!

Sincerely

DocketBird Response • Oct 14, 2020

If your case is still on Google, we would be happy to give you a refund. Please provide us with the email address you used when you removed the case, and we will issue the refund.

Customer Response • Oct 14, 2020

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

***

My email address for the refund is [email protected] I paid $60.00

Docket Bird will charge you for a subscription that you do not have. While you get receipts for downloads, your subscription is slyly billed without such acknowledgement. Very deceptive. Poor customer service as no one answers the phone and if there is a cancellation page, it is hidden.

This company posts public court records, which appear when a person's name is googled. They do not require verification of identity to remove the document if they are paid, however the require notary of identification to remove the search results if you do not pay. The paper request to remove the information states that the user must agree to the website terms, including arbitration, etc. I do not feel as if I should have to agree to terms in order to ask for free removal of my information. I would like to be able to sue them, if they don't comply with my free request for removal, without agreeing to their terms. This is not just and the business should be shut down immediately. I am being harrased by constant junk mail due to information about my case being publicly available on free web searches. I don't have any money and I feel as if I should have the power to have my information be removed without paying or agreeing to some contract. If this causes me harm later on, I will wish to sue them without having any contract agreement. It is affecting my mental state of health, having to worry and deal with harassing mail, etc.

They are posting my bankruptcy information and is included in a google search of my name which can negatively impact my job and asking to charge me to remove the public information. This information needs to be removed from any search and should not be public.

They are using my name on their website without my permission. The steps they want me to go thru for removal include me having to get my id notarized. I go thru great measures to keep my name off the internet and can usually just ask this to be done and it happens. (I don't even have a *** acct.) As far as I am concerned I OWN my name and no one can use it without permission.

Yes I would like to have them remove my info from their site. They say that they will do it but you have to jump thru hoops to get it done. Its funny that they took almost a year to reapond to my complaint but I only had 10 days. The email I recieved from you on the 11th was perceived to be a phishing email and that ia why I didnt respond to it. Ittook so long to etthe reaponse from them I figured nothing was going to be done. Please have them remove my info. I do not feel that I should have to prove who I am to them in order for them to do so. Filing my complaint with the Revdex.com should be more than enough proof for them to take care of me.

Thank you

They are using personal information as a means to embarrass me into jumping through or hoops or paying them to stop loading google search engines with my personal information. This is obviously a scam, perhaps barely legal loophole. Clearly intended as pay to clear your name of information they are putting put. If the Revdex.com supports this business then there is no hope for any kind of justice in this world.

My family has paid $100.00($60.00 to Docket Bird & $ 40.00 to have the written removal request notarized as instructed to do so by Docket Bird) for removal of our family member Vicki Tolbert et al vs The City of Los Angeles et al removed from their website, we haven't heard anything from this company, they haven't removed her case from their website and we can't reach anyone by phone. There's a Law Firm handling a Case Action Law Suit against Docket Bird! I suggest for everyone that's having issues with this company to contact this Law Firm to sue this Scam Artist Company!

This website charged myself and my wife a fee to remove negative information about us off their website. They advertised that for an expedited fee they could remove all the information off of the internet. This was misleading and quite frankly, a lie. Although an error message now appears on their website when my name is punched in, Docketbird still has not completely removed the information nor have they reported it to major search engines like *** that it is old and outdated information that is no longer valid. This was their claim in seducing me to pay their so called "expediting fee." This is an out rage and it must be rectified.

DocketBird has published detailed public information regarding my bankruptcy case. When I first asked for removal, they removed it. After a debtor said that their debt was not dischargeable, DocketBird made this case public in MULTIPLE links. These multiple links contain my home address, disability information and more private information. Now, they REFUSE to remove the case because "multiple" people are paying to see it. Making my private information available to the public is ILLEGAL!

My wife and I completed a bankruptcy proceeding in April 2018. We have worked tirelessly to move past the stress and humiliation of what the bankruptcy process entails. We don't have social media accounts and carefully review our credit records every month to make sure our personally identifiable information is protected. On a recent google search of my full legal name, the only result that references as one of the top results is ***

This website offers its clients access to my case record for a fee. This case has personally identifiable information such as name, spouse's name, address, list of creditors and more. I recognize the case is public information that can be obtained via the southern district NY bankruptcy court but there is a major difference between someone navigating the court websites to find a case versus a private company paying google to add my information as advertizement of their services. I tried using the website built-in info removal option, they sent a verification email, the landing page for the link shows two options, I can either submit more of my information such an ID and my relation to the case or I can pay $59.99 to expedite information removal. I am not giving copies of my ID or pay them to address this situation. I believe the company privacy practices are abusive, dangerous and borderline illegal. Also, this is my first and only attempt at fixing this situation that doesn't involve filling court proceedings and blasting the company in all social media sites, every day, until my info is removed.
