In 11/2015, Brookdale (at Jones Farm, Huntsville AL) Assistant Living management approached my grandfather, *** ***, about providing him Companion Care Services They were concerned about him falling and suggested this would be a way for him to continue to reside at their facility The cost for this service was more than my grandfather was comfortable with, so he rejected the services Brookdale quickly issued a letter (11/18/15) stating that because he rejected these services he was being discharged and that he had until 12/to vacate the premises Although my grandfather adamantly rejected these services, Brookdale provided the Companion Care Services anywayThe Assistant Living Administrator, John White, told me & my grandfather that he would not be charged for these services, because he had rejected this service After nearly weeks of delays by the Brookdale staff, the appropriate paperwork was finally sent to my grandfather?s soon to be new location and we vacated

Brookdale Senior Living is only interested in profit, not caring for people with dementiaMy mother was assaulted by another resident with Alzheimer'sI don't blame himThe residents were unsupervised and management refused to staff up to create a safe environmentOnce we started complaining, my mom got evicted for being a harm to othersShe was the one who was hit! This concerns their mail advertisingI have been getting junk mail from this facility for several years, addressed to a person who doesn't live at my address, and who died years agoI have tried to get them to stop sending advertising junk mail (usually or more times per month) by phone, email or in person (times), all without successI have also registered with two Do Not Mail services to avoid receiving this type of mail, but this hasn't worked either
The last time I visited them about their mailings, only last week, I threatened to go to the Revdex.com to report their practices, file a complaint, and ask for helpEven this didn't workI received yet another junk mail solicitation letter today, again addressed to someone who doesn't live here and who died years ago

I moved in all excited about retirement and all they offered months into my stay I had bed bugs and frequently had to hike flights due to constant elevator issues Their dining services could not keep up with demandI saw many people who were depressed over the constant to poor management After months if their noneffective bed bug treatment, I had to put my possessions in the dumpster and move out I had no savings to start over, yet they required I pay out a month rent notice to leave I'm okay due to the goodness of kind people, but devastated Do not believe their sales pitch It will cost you everything like it did me

After several attempts, over several months, I received partial payment for the credit balance on my accountThis credit has been on my account since June I sent all copies of checks paid to the account proving that an extra $was paidBrookdale Bluewater Bay sent a check for $72.54, the invoice attached to the check did not show why my entire credit balance was not returned to me

The Brookdale location in Westminster, CA has gone down hill considerably since Brookdale took over from *** over one year agoCurrently, the dining room has been closed due to a flood for the past few months, so they are delivering meals to the residents roomsSome of the "nurses" are not really nurses at all, however, Brookdale allows them to act/say they areBefore the flood, the freezers were out for awhileIf the dining room chairs got soiled, they would throw them out and not replace them, so there were not enough chairs for diningThey continue to increase the prices, but the service, quality has gone downhill! And you'd think with not having a dining room they would/could not continue to charge the residents the high rent! Cannot believe they are still openWill be reporting the slum conditions to the State for a prompt visitShame on Brookdale for allowing these conditions! Horrible!!

This facility is terrible The food is disgusting, the care is not good, and the attitude of the empoloyees is horrible My mother wasA resident in their Memory Care unit Short staffed, untrained, they only work days a weeks so no continuity No cavities They have not had a Activities director for over a year I think this is how they save money especially since very few families visit people in a Memory CAre unit.They do not care about the residence When you call in with a concern they give you a number and tell you that they will call back in a few days No name just a numberDo not put any relatives in this place

Receiving a bill which they said they would take care of multiple times and I'm still receiving

A few weeks ago I received a post card for me to visit the Brookdale Retirement living Community located at *** *** *** in Columbus, Ohio Their postcard offered a $debit card to be used anywhere for the visit.I attended the visit dateI was told I would receive the debit card in the mail which I did notI stopped over at the retirement center a couple of weeks ago and complained about not receiving the debit card - still no card.Their phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX This is a complaint against the retirement homeCan you help with this matter?

The facility has been charging for services not provided with frequent requests to cease and refund
My mother was placed on medication management upon entry to the facility On May 1, her primary care physician at the facility, DrGaldames, ordered medication management stopped It took until 6/30/for nursing to do an assessment and then agree to stop med mgt My mother went on self management on 6/30/ We have been billed for med mgt for July and August even though the service was discontinued In addition, the nursing department continues to order medications from the facility's contracted pharmacy even though my mother does not receive these meds We provide our own meds from our own pharmacy The executive director has been made aware of these practices numerous times and promises to stop both but to no avail We would like refunds of all meds ordered after 6/30/and refunds of medication management charges going back to May 1, when so ordered by

On November 22, 2016, the Karen M***, the Director of the Brookdale Senior Living in Biloxi placed me under threat of being thrown in jail if I should come to visit my mother within their building Because of calls made from my mother's emergency call pendant being ignored, I asked the Director, MsM***, for a copy of my mother's entire records MsM*** informed me that I(Full POA) only had rights to my mother's medical records And the director of the assisted living institution stated that she instructs the residents to use their telephone when their emergency call pendants do not gain a response due to the institution being under staffed
The probable need of MsM*** to protect those records from being seen by me led her to call the police to have me removed from the building two days before Thanksgiving MsM*** and the head nurse, MsK***, came with the police to my mother's room and in her presence, began to interrogate and threaten me into submission The situation has frightened my heart and lung patient 86-year-old frail mother into being afraid to sleep She tells me that she cannot sleep because she fears what type of threats of physical dangers might come into to her room
Initially, friction began when I acquired evidence that may indicate that Brookdale Senior Living, Incas being involved with what I call, "Creative Billing." "Creative Billing" includes billing for services not rendered, double billing, and refunds which later become debts A major prosecuting attorney's assistant stated that they could not take the case because it only affected one person I wondered about that answer then, and wonder about it now If Brookdale Senior Living, Incwould show blatant billing issues on my mother's bill, how many insurance companies and residents are suffering from the same possible financial fraud treatment throughout the United States?
Why would the director, MsM***, of Brookdale Senior Living of Biloxi feel that it is not abusive to have the police brought to one of their resident's rooms to arrest her child for asking for her mother's records? The records were being requested because calls sent from the resident's emergency call pendant were answered after hours of waiting or not at all These pendants are used to indicate when a person may be having any type of medical emergency How many people can find and dial a phone while having a deadly attack of some sort?
Can anyone help me with these types of abuses because one day any one of us could find that he or she needs the services rendered by institutions for the disabled and elderly Would you want your life's savings drained for services that you do not receive while watching your child being threatened jail time for fighting for your rights as a breathing human being?
