*** *** *** *** ** *** RE: Revdex.com Complaint No*** Dear *** ***, According to UCFS records, you called UCFS on January 12, and authorized
payments in the amount of $for the following dates: January 13, 2015; February 8, 2015; March 8, 2015; April 8, 2015; and May 8, 2015; you also set up a payment for $1,for June 8, UCFS sent you a letter each month to confirm these payments. You called in to UCFS on June 9, stating that you did not authorize the June 8, payment for $1,and that you wanted a refundYou called into UCFS again on June 10, asking how long it would take for the $1,to be refunded; a UCFS representative told you it had to be reviewed by a supervisor and that it could take up to hours for a decisionOn June 12, 2015, UCFS received a one-time ACH return payment for the $1,payment due to your disputing the authorization of that payment. On June 22, 2015, a UCFS supervisor called the number we have on file as your home telephone number; the number was disconnectedThe supervisor then called the number from which you had previously called and left a voicemail message for you. Despite multiple attempts, UCFS was unable to successfully contact you from the beginning of July until OctoberOn October 15, 2015, you called UCFS and advised UCFS that the address we has on file for you is correct and that you did not revoke the payment of $1,dated for June 8, At that time, a UCFS representative told you that the current payoff on the account was $2,and was good until November 12, UCFS continues to attempt to contact you by phone, but with no success. While UCFS can certainly appreciate the seeming unfairness of paying a different amount for a similar consumer product as your neighbor, the purchase price of the consumer product is negotiated between the distributor and you, the consumerUCFS has no bearing on the agreed-upon price. In an effort to resolve your concerns, UCFS will accept as full satisfaction of your account a one-time payment of $1,236.85. *** *** ***: United Consumer Financial Services Company ("UCFS") received *** *** ***'s recent response to UCFS's Reply to her Revdex.com Complaint. As *** *** states, I did speak with her on the telephone about her concerns concerning the amount she owes on her account with UCFS. In that conversation, I explained how financed charges were assessed on her account, briefly covered what a pre-computed closed-end installment loans is, and advised *** *** of the balance on her account was at the time of the conversation. It seems as if *** *** is unable to appreciate the difference between a simple interest calculation and a pre-computed closed end installment loan as it relates to how much interest she would avoid by preparing her account in full. As I explained to her, the nature of her account and its repayment would necessarily mean that she would pay more in finance charges in the beginning of the life of her repayment than she would towards the end; that would, no doubt, mean that the later she waited to pay her account in full, the less total interest charges she would avoid. I do think it's unfortunate that *** *** continues to be dissatisfied with my explanations of her account with UCFS. Unfortunately, I am at a loss for how I can help *** *** at this point. I will continue to work with *** *** should she have additional questions. Thank you for your time. Best, Tim S*Director of ComplianceUnited Consumer Financial Services
