Everdry Waterproofing Reviews (101)

Overall, our experience with Everdry was positive. The results of their work has been a dry basement for over 5 years. Wish we had taken action sooner.

We had our basement waterproofed five years ago. Initially I was unhappy with the condition my plants and flowers were left in around the perimeter of our house. I realize that this was simply collateral damage and could have been mitigated if I had had the time to dig up the flowers on my own for transplanting later. Aside from having to re-establish all my flower beds, I am quite pleased with how dry my basement is now. The black accordion-like material embedded in the floor around the entire basement is somewhat unappealing.

After a huge flood several years back we had some major work done on our house to fix the basement. We live in an old house so it can sometimes be difficult to keep the old house up to current standards. Everdry did a great job repairing our basement and making sure that we would be prepared for any major rain storms in the future. We are happy so far.

Everdry waterproofing did an average job on the work on my basement itself but have excelled after the job was done. Few waterproofing companies have lifetime warranties and with a 1920 home that is a good thing.
Things started off great and it was supposed to take a week and a half at least. Workers were pleasant and polite. Suddenly on Friday which was day 5 in the morning they said they would be done which was surprising given how much was left but they did finish. As a result, some things were left undone that I noticed later and or we're done sloppily.
However, I am giving them a high rating because of the fact prior to having a work done I had water pouring in my basement every time it rained. I now never have issues. And initially after the work was done and I ran into issues somewhere some mild wetness, they came out right away and they fix the problem. And now I never have issues and I know that if I do I can call them and they will be out to take care of it.
So yes, I would definitely recommend Everdry. If you do any research you're going to realize few companies have a lifetime warranty and with this type of work that is extra important. Also their follow through when there have been things that needed to be taken care was very good.

I had Everdry waterproof my home around 10 years ago. They put on a moisture guard on the walls and waterproof around the outside of the foundation. My basement was really leaking bad around the electrical meter and water was going under my furnace. Since they waterproofed I have no issues with the basement,. I tell everybody that if they want waterproofing done to call Everdry/

Everdry is a A+ company. They were quick and efficient. They attended to all my basement issues. I would highly recommend them.

Review: My home has a lifetime warranty with Everdry for prior work that was preformed. I recently put my house up for sale and received an accepted offer. The home inspector came through and noticed that the west basement wall was coming in. The buyers had another company come in to investigate ([redacted]). [redacted] agreed the wall was coming in. We contacted Everdry, one person came out and wouldn't agree the wall was coming in and said he would go back to the office and call later that afternoon. No one called and we called 3 times before someone called back. Then Everdry again sent someone else out to look and it was determined that work would be needed. Everdy saw the estimate which was $6,410. They said they will pay to have [redacted] do the work. [redacted] started the work yesterday and found that there were several issues with the work that was done. Some of the issues, the steel beams were not properly secured, when they were removed they were not bolted to the ceiling they were only cemented to the wall, pieces of wood were jammed at the top and not bolted to anything, and the cement stoop had concrete poured all the way down to the footing at the basement floor which was causing the wall to be pushed in (this should have been rock). With these new findings our estimate is up to $6,910 and now Everdry is not going to pay for the increase in work that needs to be done. We were told that Everdry would pay [redacted] for the work (I have emails saying so). Now that it is $500 more than the estimate Everdry will not pay the new amount.Desired Settlement: I want Everdry to do the right thing and pay the $6910 that is due. I was told that they will pay for the work to be done by [redacted] and I want them to love up to their word and pay the amount that is due, not $500 less. If this was done correctly in the first place we would not have to have the work done for a third time!

Response:

First I would like to state that this is an extremely unique

situation. When we offered to pay for someone to address a potential buyers

concern, we felt that it was going to help our customer sell their home. We

have no obligation to do this. There were no concerns with our work for the

past 8 years.Everdry Waterproofing had an agreement with [redacted]

and [redacted]. In the agreement it stated that Everdry would not provide

for any cost overruns associated with new work. Upon commencing any work we

offer our clients a closed contract with a guaranteed price. The agreed to

price was $6,410.00, I feel we shouldn’t be responsible for any extra amount. I

feel the real issue is with the contractor who changed their price. However if

they can provide new paperwork stating $6,910.00 is the final price I will

reimburse it. Thank you for your help with this. I would also like someone from

the Revdex.com office to contact me.

Response:

We need to have a waiver removing Everdry from the warranty signed by [redacted] and we will pay the $6,910.00.Please call our office to schedule this ###-###-####.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

The people at Everdry have been very helpful dealing with our specific issues. They inspected everything thoroughly. They provided us with estimates to do a partial repair to deal with our immediate needs as well as an estimate for future needs on developing problems. There was no pressure. We chose to deal with our immediate needs for now. The crew was very professional and took extra care during the repairs. They even protected and saved the plants and bushes. That was very important to us. We have plans on completing the remaining repairs in the near future.

I had Everdry Waterproofing install a waterproofing system in my basement. I have lived in this home since 1983. It is an older home, in fact It is the home I grew up in. The basement was always damp. There were leaks. When it rained I had water running. Now this system has dried it up and this past year the basement is the driest it has ever been. The pump has a battery back up which makes me feel secure and the easy breath system is terrific. You can't go wrong with the Everdry System. The installers were a great group of people, very professional. I am very satisfied with the Everdry system. [redacted]

I had my basement waterproofed by Everdry 5 years ago and my basement is forever fixed!!! Customer service is great. I had an episode recently where my sump pump was alarming and I wasn't able to fix the problem. I called Everdry and they were out that same day to help me with my problem at no charge due to the life time warranty. This was and still is the best decision I made going with Everdry for waterproofing my basement!!!

my wife and I have been a customer of everdry waterproofing for 12 years. their work ,professionalism and sincere concern as to our needs cannot be surpassed. I would recommend their services to anyone.
sincerely, [redacted]

Review: In June 2015 I had Everdry fix some issues in my basement. They ruined my staircase, dry wall going to basement & made holes in my cement block. The so called "clean up" was a disaster. I have cement debris all over, & they did not cover everything. I had to spend additional money to have my furnace cleaned, and will have to spend more money for a professional cleaner to resolve their mess. I had some landscaping done earlier and of course that is a disaster, & will have to have that redone. I wish I could up load pictures. I am on a fixed income and trusted this company to do a professional job. I get ill when I go in the basement so finally decided to do something about it.Desired Settlement: I do not want them any where near my home, so would like $6000.00 refund so I can hire contractors of my choice to rectify all the issues.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

I have had Everdry Waterproofing since 2008 and they have been wonderful to deal with, and work with, the only time we had a problem was when our easy breathe system stopped working, we called, within a couple of days they came out replaced that, noticed we had an older model of battery back up system and replaced it with a newer system, thank you! I recommend Everdry highly!

We called Everdry a couple years ago because of a relative's recommendation and are pleased with the results. A consultant recommended that we have a section of the basement wall braced with steel beams and Everdry did this and advised us to do some additional work due to a wet corner and evidence of previous problems on the wall. They took great care to keep the dust to a minimum in the rest of the basement. They are very responsive to our needs.

My wife and I had water seep into our basement about a year after we had bought our house. Had Everdry come out and look at the problem. It was the best decision we have ever made. Crew of guys came and everything inside and outside was done in four days. Never had a problem since. The best part is the lifetime warranty, even though it's $49, it is well worth it.

Review: Everdry waterproofing came into our home and removed concrete flooring next to 3 walls prior to removing foundation dirt around exterior. Because of this we had two foundation cracks requiring wall anchors. One of the cracks you could physically see daylight through and the wall shifted off the footer. The wall had no mortar repaired and no sealant externally. Internally the wall was partially caulked with acrylic caulking. The cement that was poured back is less than .5 inches in some areas. The external cracks were not filled with mortar, simply caulked. They caulked over bubbled paint. We had several issues with the sales pitch vs the reality of the project. Our walls were not coated with fibrated mastic where the cracks were or a layer of visqueen as in their documentation. Our walls are not refilled with gravel but dirt followed by gravel in the J drain. We were told that the cracks would be filled with hydraulic cement. We had issues with management demanding payment before work was completed. We are now exhausted from arguing with this company and unsure of the structural safety of our home. We also cannot finish our basement as planned because the wall anchor must be tightened every 6 months. We have had 2 other large waterproofing companies come in and state our home is unsafe. Finally, during the sales pitch it was made aware to us that Everdry of Evans City was an accredited Revdex.com agency with an A+ rating. A simple search proves that this is misinformation, they are not accredited and do not have an A+ rating.Desired Settlement: I would like a structural engineer of our choosing/ not related to Everdry to come into my home and deem that this work is to code and is safe the way that it is. If this person says that it is not safe I would like Everdry to pay for a licensed contractor to repair my basement walls and all subsequent damage as a result of the walls being repaired, and to provide us proper local lodging. I do not believe I should owe them the final payment because I believe this work is substandard and unsafe.

Response:

The foundation cracks in the [redacted]’s home were preexisting. When we removed

the dirt from the outside the wall’s moved back out, not in. The floor being removed had

no affect on the walls moving. When we backfilled the dirt the walls moved back to

where they were before we started the work. We decided to install the anchors, at no

extra cost to the [redacted]’s, to help stabilize the walls and pull the two sides of the crack

closer together.

We also removed and replaced a cement slab along the front wall at no extra cost to the

[redacted]’s. They were concerned about the area and we did it in the interest of keeping our

customer relations. It was not part of the contract like the [redacted]’s claim. There were

other claims the [redacted]’s made that were also not on the contract.

Our system has a lifetime warranty. We are not in the business of doing things wrong the

first time. Making numerous trips back to a customer’s home to make free repairs is not

smart business. With that being said, I am not worried about their concerns of how we

waterproofed the basement. I am sure that any engineer hired by the [redacted]’s will find

problems with their walls. I am not going to spend any more money trying to chase the

money that I am already owed. At this point I am prepared to allow the [redacted]’s to keep

the remaining balance and sever all ties that I have with them.

I also did not appreciate our phone conversation with the [redacted]’s being recorded without

our knowledge, the [redacted]’s trying to record my employee’s conversations, and their

attempts to get the mason I use to make negative remarks about the work that we had

done.

Sincerely

Production Manager

Response:

Responding to the complaint of Mr. [redacted] let me bring you up to date. Contract signed May 18, 2013. Work commenced June 10, 2013. Work completed June 14, 2013. The initial contract called for 3 wall anchors to stabilize the side walls, cost $1,500.00. Warranty on this is clearly stated on our contract Provision 14. Upon inspection of this wall my production manager came to the conclusion this would not remedy the situation and decided a partial wall rebuild was a more viable solution, our cost $3,500.00 invoice enclosed, we paid the additional $2,000.00. This is the essence of all his other complaints he expects a straight wall and we told him he’d have to rebuild the whole wall which he refused to do. So I try to do the right thing, the moral thing and this guy tries to stick it to me and doesn’t pay a 1/3 of his bill. Perhaps that was his intention all along. What we have done out of our own pocketbook and not part of contract to make customer happy and get paid, besides the wall rebuild, is as follows. One June 25, 2013 we replaced a wooden support beam with a steel beam, replaced wood on the outside of his home, removed 3 antiquated windows and replaced them with glass block windows. Mr. [redacted] said, once we do that he will pay us. Forgot his checkbook says come back on June 27, 2013 he’ll pay us. We go back two days later not paid he wants more stuff done and is still complaining about his bowed wall again we explain that to him. On July 19, 2013 we go back and do additional work he requested expecting? to get paid - no payment again. So finally I go out with [redacted] on Sept. 10, 2013 to inspect the job, it was done to specs, no water seepage. He pointed out several mortar cracks that needed sealed and we agreed to do that and he also asked we replace our standard 3” discharge pipe with 4” pipe and we agreed to that. Again, we had to explain to him that if the only thing that was going to make him happy was a straight wall. He should have paid to rebuild it. We met terms of the contract and stabilized the wall avoiding future possible wall collapse. His response let me talk to my contractor and see what he says, I’ll call you tomorrow and we’ll discuss payment. A week later still no call imagine that. On Sept. 18, 2013 wrote him a letter said I’ll put a mechanics lien on his property if I don’t receive payment by Sept 27th, 2013.1 guess I got his attention. Sincerely, [redacted] President/Owner P.S. By the way this was a condemned piece of property when he bought it.

Response:

This letter is in response to complaint # ID [redacted] against EverDry Waterproofing. [redacted], I commend you on a job well done. You have done something I could not accomplish, by getting Mr. [redacted] to righting down fact or fiction of my complaint. Other than the original contract, I have never gotten any written form, bill or statement on paper from Everdry. The original contract, dated 05/18/1 3 stated - Everdry would fix my walls and rid my basement of mold, mildew and water. As of 10/26/13 this has not happen. The basement walls on left side are 3.1 /4 out of plumb. The walls on right side are 2.5 out of plumb. Mold, mildew and water still are present as of 10/26/1 3 and I’m out $11,775.00. In the letter Mr [redacted] wrote to the Revdex.com, he stated in a (PS) closing statement that the house was condemned - (this might be true now-) but this comment is not quite true. In making this closing statement Everdry admitted know that I 10/26/2013 needed this problem fixed in order to get a occupancy permit issued buy Castle Shannon Bored. This is the # one and # two Ordinance Violation issued on the inspection sheet, (attached) I would never hire them if they could not fix this problem. Mr. [redacted] stated when he came out to collect his money that I know the wall would never be fixed right and I should just cover up the wall with wall board and no one would know. This statement by Mr [redacted] was the reason I don’t want him or his men on my property. This wall problem could have been a easy fix when his brick layer stopped and covered up his mistake, but now it’s a major job and I want compensated so it can be fix right. EverDry had given me (2) two estimate - the first one by [redacted] on 5/13/2013 for $ 19,323.1 rejected it due to not addressing the bowing walls. Then five days later I got a call from Everdry stating- (they had a deal I could not pass up). On May 18 201 3 Mr. [redacted] stated that (Everdry) would do everything [redacted] placed in his estimate Plus address the wall issue with their patented wall anchoring system, Rid the house of mildew, water and mold. This is all in the two contract attached. None of the work they attempted to do or completed was good enough for Castle Shannon inspection [redacted] or [redacted] Builders, a private contractor I paid to inspect their work.

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted]: I spoke to both representatives who were at Mr. [redacted]’s home during the sales process. Both representatives were positive that Mr. [redacted] understood that the wall anchors we were to install at his home were not going to straighten his walls. The anchors were only going to prevent future movement and possibly move the walls back slightly closer to their original position. As stated in our letter, we explained to Mr. [redacted] during the course of the job why we thought rebuilding the top of the wall, at our own cost, was a better option than the anchors. 1 have no idea why he thinks we were going to return his two walls back to their original location. Mr. [redacted] and I did meet Mr. [redacted] at his home to look at the remaining water problem. We did see a possible problem in the front comer and offered to return to open the area and make any necessary repairs. Mr. [redacted] refused us the opportunity to inspect the area. I am convinced that Mr. [redacted] will never pay us the remaining balance of the job. He won’t let us inspect our system and he wants us to make repairs to his home that was not part of our Contract. I feel my only option at this point is to allow him to keep the remaining balance and we will sever all ties with Mr. [redacted]. [redacted] Production Manager

Review: This complaint could possibly involve a health issue. I am in contact with an environmental hygienist to determine if there are mold spores in the air in my basement. Two separate mold remediation companies have suggested I contact the original company(Everdry Waterproofing)that was to have taken care of the water problems(in 2010). Both say that there continues to be accumulation of water in the foundation (since there continues to be a build up of calcium and mold on the walls). Everdry Waterproofing is supposed to return to inspect their work. They have returned before because of the shoddy cement work they did following the installation of a French drain.I don't believe I should have to pay for an environmental hygienist or mold remediation company after spending $17,000 for Everdry to fix the problem just 4 years ago!Desired Settlement: Everdry Waterproofing should be responsible for any expenses incurred in the remediation of continued water problems in my basement.

Response:

Please be advised that Everdry Waterproofing performed our inspection at Mrs.

[redacted] residence on Monday October 20, 2014. At which time Mr.

[redacted] (Assistant Production Manager) drilled hole in wall and no water was present and

block was dry. Mr. [redacted] explained that if previous homeowner just painted over mold

without killing it that the mold would still be present. The mold remediators told Ms.

Higgoninbotham that the buttons were nasti g due to water. However that is not the case

removed buttons and shown to her and a gentlemen that she had present, also noted that

no water came out of block. At that time Mrs. Higgonbotham thanked us for coming and

said sorry for bothering us about this issue and seemed to understand that there is no

water in the walls. Homeowner was getting an additional dehumidifier to help with

condensation. Everdry also had a follow up inspection scheduled on Thursday 10/30/14

between 9:00am & 10:00am. Mrs. [redacted] called and left message that she needed

to reschedule appointment. Several messages have been left for Homeowner to

reschedule appointment. At this time no calls have been returned.

We do apologize and we will always stand behind our warranty to make any corrections

free of charge.

Review: We purchased the multi step waterproofing system from Everdry on 10/29/2010. For a few years the results have been OK. Initially, we were not completely happy with how the walls looked, and even a second worker that came into finish the work said they were not done correctly, but we decided to see how everything worked out. A few months ago my daughter's belongings I had stored in the basement were completely covered in mold. I do believe the mold was growing mold on top of it. I only had a few of her things down in the basement for a couple of months. They were completely ruined. I called Everdry and told them, they gave me a poor excuse and sent me a paper to "fix" their "EZ breathe" system, and told me I should purchase a dehumidifier. I do not think after spending 12,000 dollars that I should have to do any of that. THEY should have to come out and assess the issues that my basement might have. I feel like they did the job back in 2010, and they could not care less about the results. They advertise on facebook and in their pamphlets that this is a WATERPROOFING system and the owner could have their basement completely redone after they provide their services, but there is no way I could have my basement refinished. I can store nothing down in my basement without it smelling like mold. My christmas lights, ornaments, and decorations even smell like mold and the lights have a thick layer of mold on the boxes of the lights. All I want is for them to care and for them to do something, other than send me a print out of what to do or send a worker and have them shrug their shoulders. We have called a couple other times with other issues like the pump alarm going off every minute and it's a loud ring and all the worker said that came out was, "yeah it will do that". I want problems cared about and fixed. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like to for Everdry to send someone out and fully assess my basement and see if the initial workers actually put the walling up right (because now it is extremely bumpy and see if there is anything they can do about the excessive mold problem that I have. This isn't a waterproof basement...it isn't even fifty percent waterproof. That point was clearly made this past year.

Response:

I spoke with Mrs. [redacted] on Thursday February 11, 2016. The waterproblems they were having before our visit on January 11, 2016 have been corrected. Igave her 5 years free of our warranty in the interest of good customer relations. We spokeabout the EZ-Breathe and are going to wait until the weather turns warmer to see if thebasement is better now that the other issues with the system are resolved. I let her knowthat a dehumidifier might help the EZ-Breathe work better. We also discussed the optiono f removing the unit and refunding the full value of it. She was fine with, everything as ofnow and will call me back in the spring/summer if they want to do anything with the EZBreathe.

We had two very small leaks in our basement at the ground level. Everydry came out and talked us into doing an extensive project for over $22,000. Their sales guy, Walter, looked like a respectable informed representative of the company and assured us we would have a dry basement and that the crew would leave our basement the way they found it.

in the middle of March, Everydry crew came and dug up our basement and the perimiter of our house, installed two sump pumps (major overkill), and a humidifier system. The crew did a horrible job - the creating in the basement was dismal. It was a shoddy job, high in some places, low in others, with dry splatters everywhere, and every single wall in my basement was covered with dirty handprints. On top of that, they did a horrible job covering up my belongings so everything was covered in an inch of dust. Needless to say, the first rain and our basement leaked big time - and it leaked from a place that never leaked before. They send another crew out and agreed the job was shoddy and proceeded to rip out everything to start over. After 2 days of enduring drilling in our basement again, they left. Next rain, water started to literally spew into our basement, I have film and pictures if anyone wants to see it. Once more, they send out a crew who digs some more around the house. they leave telling me they gurantee the problem is fixed. 2 hours later, my basement is spewing water again. Not only that, the crew cut my cable line so we were all without TV for the weekend AND they left my gate open so my dogs escaped and I had to go looking for them in my neighborhood. They placed cigarette butts behind their tar job - they smeared tar on my windows that were recently painted - they killed over 1000 bulbs I planted last fall - they left my front yard a muddy pig sty - and they plugged up all my downspouts.

Bottom line, do not fall for these guys. I am now hearing all sorts of stories about how badly trained their crews are. Their production manager, Brandon, felt offering me a 10% refund on the job as sufficient. And, all my attempts to get the franchise owner to call me back have so far failed. Clearly he does not care that they are robbing people blind and literally destroying people's biggest investment, their homes.
