They said that there was a miscommunication in the office and they in fact do the multiple implants procedure.  They also apologized for the bill going out in error.  I can tell from the emails that they will continue to do this type of thing to their customers.  They did not offer me anything as far as a resolution to what I have been through except I can make an appointment to see the dentist.  I originally thought I would give them another try but I have now changed my mind.  I will take my business and my money to a more honest place.

Western Dental Services verified that it did send a secure email to Ms. [redacted] on March 23, 2018, as it contains protected health information (HIPAA).  Records show that Ms. [redacted] never opened that email, so it was resent to her today.

Better Business...

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. However, I have already run into issues with the business saying they will do something, and then not doing it.  How long are they given to perform the action, and what can I do if they do not? In addition, why have they not provided the information about how much money I was over charged? I was told by my insurance company I should have only paid $120 total. Is this the number they came up with?

Per
grievance resolution letter dated and mailed to Ms. [redacted] on April 26, 2016
the Committee concluded that the treatment planned and...

performed was
appropriate for the conditions which the patients presented.  This includes the change in treatment plan for
[redacted]ander. The Committee concluded that the termination of care letters sent to
Ms. [redacted] will not be enforced and instead the Committee invites Ms. [redacted]
to consider the following three options: 1) [redacted] and [redacted]ander may return to
resume their treatment at the WDS San Diego orthodontic facility. 2) Their care
may be transferred to any WDS orthodontic facility of their choice, should they
wish to do so or 3) Should Ms. [redacted] elect to continue [redacted] and [redacted]ander’s
care with a non-WDS provider, WDS would be willing to remove [redacted] and
[redacted] orthodontic appliances and place retainers. Copies of the patients’
records were mailed to Ms. [redacted] along with her resolution letter, as per her
request. Ms. [redacted] is asked to contact the WDS office in Sand Diego, Mid-City
of her decision. The Committee regrets any inconvenience that Ms. [redacted] and
her family may have encountered and assures that the current condition of
[redacted]ander and [redacted]’s health is our primary concern.

patient have any further questions in regards to the resolution letter, patient
can contact the Patient Relation Department at 1-800-992-3366. Extension [redacted].

I was contacted by the office stating they would audit my account and send me information on 4-14-17 but to date - I have not been contacted with the audit details nor an update about the amounts only that they are looking into it as I have been told the past 30 days.  This is still not resolved and still no update as promised. I am still at square 1 owing more than I am suppose to owe. I will send the authorization of release to them upon receiving resolution. But to date - still the run around and no answers. no phone call. no contact accept for an email to get a release for the Revdex.com but no resolve.

Please note that although the patient returned an authorization form the Business Bureau, the form is not signed by the patient.  As a result, WDS responded directly to the patient regarding this matter on June 3, 2016.  However, as soon as the signed release is received by WDS, we will forward any pertinent information to the Revdex.com.

Western Dental Services ("WDS") is in receipt of the rebuttal from the wife of a patient of WDS.  WDS has again thoroughly reviewed Ms. [redacted]' complaints and wishes to advise the Revdex.com that specific dental information cannot be shared with the Revdex.com due to HIPAA privacy laws.  However, WDS would like the Revdex.com to know that the dentist to whom Ms. [redacted] referred is a licensed dentist that is part of the WDS grievance review process, and he reviewed all of Ms. [redacted]' complaints and assisted in WDS' provision of the resolution provided to Ms. [redacted].
