I've had Genz- [redacted] technicians to my home five times since using their "free service call" sticker this summer, and have been very happy with each visitI called first to get a price on the installation of a new toiletThe tech explained that the old one was running because of a wrong-sized part in the back tank, and that he could order the correct size for meI told him I wanted a low-flush model, which he located in spite of needing an odd size and colorHe installed it the next week, and when it ran occasionally two months later, another person came out, evaluated the problem, and made an adjustmentIt's been fine since then The other calls have been for a/c and furnace cleaningIn both cases the techs explained what they did, what needed to be done immediately (nothing), and what could be done to extend the life of the appliancesI've been happy with those fixes, too, and would recommend the company without hesitation
They were very courteous from Cherri who set up the appointment to Loren & John the service techsVery personable & knowledgeable and you have the feeling that they are there for you

I purchase the $Groupon deal for water heater flush Set up appointment and took hrs off from work Flush was completed (didn't seem like much time and attention given to that process) however the service person got pretty excited when he saw that my water softener wasn't work Well of course received a quote and it seemed pretty high The product that he was quoting was the second from the bottom and was with three year warranty North Star product I told service person that I would think about it The service person stated that he would let me think about and planned to return on the following Monday (since I was on vacation that day.) When the srv person returned I told him that the price was too much and that I would deal with it and search around Took him business card After researching products on line, services, warranty, ref'l from others-I received quotes I decided to go with one of their competitors because the product was better quality had a year warranty and was over $less A few days after having the flush the tank was now leaking Called the office for GenzRyan on Saturday [redacted] returned my call and said that she would make sure that a manager give me a call on Monday No call Monday Tuesday I called the company The girl sent out service person He was even worse than the first guy This one decided that he was going to talk down to me Even though the product is GenzRyan product that was installed by THEM he stated that they just had been out here replacing many of them (Even though the first srv person said that was one of the really good products) Then to top it all off the srv worker saw that I had a new water softener (not installed by one of their competitors) and when I asked for a quote on new water heater he said well why don't you get a quote from these guys you seem not to be happy with our service With that -that solved the problem This company is just wanting to sell you a product-and they don't seem to like that there are competitiors out there This had to be one of the worse service experience I have had as a homeowner Friendly customer service is not their motto I was very shocked by the talking down and the complete arrogance of the srv staff I am glad that I took my time and did some research

Jeff [redacted] serviced our A/C a few times recentlyHe did an outstanding job finally figuring out the problemAn earlier GR tech last year told us to get a higher MERV rated filterThe other person said to go from a MERV of to or higherWe did this in July this year, but soon thereafter it unit froze up and leaked waterJeff figured out the problem and told us to go back to a MERV rating og or lessWe did it, and now the A/C works fineThis is after a $fee to fix the A/C we paid to an earlier GR techJeff Pdeserves high accolades
We had been considering replacing our year-old furnace due to some problems with its performance I had already received proposals for the replacement of the furnace and the A/C When Jeremey came from Genz-Ryan to give me a third proposal, he presented the proposal in terms of solutions with each option having a respective price tag One of the solutions was a refurbishment of the existing furnace Jeremey checked the furnace heat exchanger manufacturer's warranty and noted that it was good for years After some thought, we decided to go with the refurb as we are not sure how much longer we will be staying in our home None of the first two vendors presented me with a refurb as an option As our decision was made, Jeremey said he could do the work that day and could return after getting the necessary parts to complete the job We agreed and he said he would return about 2:in the afternoon to replace the parts We thanked him for his professionalism in completing the job If this is the level of service to be expected from Genz-Ryan, I would have no problem calling on them again or recommending them We also decided to purchase their yearly maintenance program for $a month which included a fall and spring checkup and a year's worth of furnace filters I considered that a plus as they will automatically schedule the checkups and I don't have to go the the hardware store to find the correct filters anymore
My experience with Joel [redacted] the service tech was excellent He was very professional and knowledgeable about my problem He also gave me a list of options that I had to fix the problem We decided to remove the garbage disposal May be to put another one in later I appreciated his honesty and no pressure to do something that I wouldn't be happy with I had a very good experience with Joel and would not be afraid to recommend Joel or Genz-Ryan Plumbing to anyone [redacted]
