Review: although a long time subscriber to COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE, I sent a check for payment in full , covering 2 subscriptions to this magazine (an annual renewal) - one for me and the second for my daughter (a gift) in october 2013. to date, (3/*/14), I have received no magazines, nor has my daughter. I wrote to HEARST Magazines three times over the past months and have received no product, no response or acknowledgement. I sent several copies of my check, which HEARST received, deposited to their account and also a copy of the check from my bank, verifying it had cleared my account.I subscribed to this company (HEARST MAGAZINES) for many years and I want my magazines delivered as promised or I want my money back! I recommend to everyone, NOT to do business with this company. I attempted to get in touch with them via e-mail, also and received no response!Desired Settlement: I want the subscriptions to COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE for myself and my daughter (they have my personal information and that of my daughter's in their computer system, as I have subscribed to them previously) -- that I have ALREADY PAID FOR --- or I want a full refund in the amount of $19.94, which was the amount of my check they received and deposited in October 2013 #[redacted] dated 10-**-13.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: Greetings: Despite three letters explaining that I no longer wanted to receive Road & Track Magazine, Hearst Magazine Services continues to send me increasingly threatening collection notices, most recently referring to my "delinquent account" and my supposed refusal to "settle my obligation" which never existed in the first place.

Hearst does every bit of this on its own accord. The internet is littered with complaints against them for instituting auto-renewals against customers' express wishes. Now they are threatening my credit rating and they refuse to acknowledge my requests for them to cease and desist.Desired Settlement: Hearst needs 1) to stop harassing me for payment for a product I never requested; 2) certify that they have not attempted to damage my credit rating; 3) show evidence that they have repaired any damage they have caused; 3) certify that they will stop attempting to damage me, my reputation, and my credit rating; 4) explain why they send insulting and threatening letters to people who did not incur any obligation in the first place; and 5) to cease this unethical practice of harassment of innocent parties.

[Your Answer Here]

Hearst continues to send invoices and threatening letters for a supposed account "auto-renewal" which I *NEVER* ordered. This harassment is abusive and unjustifiable. Clearly they have no intention whatever of correcting their 'business practices'.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: For over one-year now I have been attempting to contact redbook magazine to stop this unnecessary deliverly. I did not request this subscription and they refused to unsubscribe me. Finally somewhere around Jan/Feb of '14 they finally lead me to belive that they gather my email from my resume submissions for online jobs and that I could remove my name from the list, but the magazine is addressed to my father, [redacted] located: [redacted]. I have followed redbooks' instructions very carefully and have emailed them several times during the months of Feb/Mar of '14 and they have responded by stating: " Your request to be removed from receiving all subscribtions has been processed etc.," I feel that redbook has in retaliation have delivered me and my father a fraudulent bill for their unsubscribed and wasted delivery issues of their magazine. My dad's a senior, black-widower and I am a blackwoman now why would redbook assume that their magazine would be of interest? They have charged me/father $8.00 as a renewal since I have reequested to be removed from all emails/subscriptions permanently.... [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

Review: Hello, I'm having a problem with the Hearst publication company, I am being billed for magazine subscriptions that I never ordered and not only that but there taking money right out of my bank account that I absolutely never Ever authorized. I ordered 1 subscription through [redacted] and that was for a year of cosmopolitan for my girlfriend because it was only $5. Well I paid for that subscription a long time ago and now all of a sudden I'm getting Marie Claire magazines as well as good housekeeping which I never ordered either I looked at my bank account the other day and it was in the negative because they took $15 from me so I don't know what to do now. I've sent them honestly at least 15 emails to 2 different customer service emails that they have listen on there website and still not one response from them there customer service department is God awful I mean no one has gotten back to me I don't know what else to do please help me rectify this situation. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from yous soon.Desired Settlement: I want my money back

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I have received a refund for the subscriptions thank you. I am a little confused tho as to who ordered these magazine's in the 1st place I never put in an online order for these subscriptions like. I said before the only magazine I ever ordered was [redacted] magazine that I ordered through [redacted] for $5. But I never agreed to an automatic renewal nor did I order any of the other magazines

Sincerely,

Review: I received two unauthorized charges from Hearst Magazines this month for subscriptions that have expired and the auto-renewed on my checking debit card. First, I received an unauthorized charge for Good House Keeping in the amount of $20.97 and then 1-2 days later, I receive an authorize charge of $22.97 for Food Network Magazine. One which had expired two years earlier. These are both unauthorized charges and auto-renewals should be illegal on a checking card (debit) card without the written approval of the card holder.Desired Settlement: Although Good Housekeeping did issue a refund and Food Network is supposedly in the process, this practice should cease. Thankfully, it did not cause our checking account to go into the negative, but it should have never occured.

Sincerely,

Review: I had been receiving two subscriptions from "Hearst". When I moved in with my son and family, they dropped mine without asking me, it was one I also sent to my son as a gift subscription, that and their contest they run that won't let you enter without adding another year to your subscription convinced me that I did not want to do business with them any more. So when my other subscription came up for renewal I didn't send in a renewal notice they sent me. all of a sudden I start getting this magazine again and shortly a bill in the mail that says it's from their "Credit & Collections Department" for failure to pay my bill. In the past when I renewed a magazine subscription I sent a check in with the renewal order, so I see this as another way to bully me into another years subscription.Desired Settlement: Stop sending me the magazine I did not request and the bill for said same magazine.

Sincerely,

Review: I ordered House beautiful magazine for two years at a price of $28 20 issues.FYI: only 10 issues per year. There to hear offer stated "send no money, start receiving magazines immediately, bill to arrive shortly". After two months of receiving zero magazines but receiving a bill I chose not to pay them since they have not honored their promise.I felt uncomfortable paying for a magazine that I had never received. After receiving numerous bills for this subscription I chose to risk it & pay them their $28.Shortly after my check cleared I began to receive their magazine with regularity. My check was dated November **, 2012.I am now being bombarded with invoices for an additional year's subscription. I have not ordered nor implied any interest in ever receiving any future subscriptions to House Beautiful magazine.

I want the billing to stop.I would like to stop receiving their magazine as soon as my 2 year/20 magazine subscription expires.I would like them to have costumer service & not a web only money receiving department.I would also like Hearst magazine to publish in a news source not owned by Hearst that their practice of inflating subscription numbers to generate greater ad revenue is false. And ultimately I would like a written apology mailed to me!

Review: I was attempting to get an advertised free issue of Dr.Oz the good life magazine, I entered my address and clicked on the send my risk free magazine icon and it wouldn't let me, I clicked again and again, I then entered my cc information and it charged me $15.00 even though the website says you can try one magazine free, then they will bill you and you can write cancel on the order and mail back, this is clearly a bait and switch ad on the website. Review: I requested that my name and address be removed from Country Living's mailing list(s) through a National Mail Preference Service. What I received the day after my request was received by Country Living was a web site address ([redacted]) that I needed to go to and a phone number that I could call (###-###-####). The website is dedicated to lauding all the 'good things' about the Country Living magazine and how to subscribe. There is NOTHING on that website that allows you to request that your name and address be removed from Country Living's mailing list(s). The phone number is for SUBSCRIPTION-related issues; it is not a phone number that you can call to have your name and address removed from Country Living's mailing list(s). Nor is there any other Country Living magazine websites on the internet that allow you to opt out of their mailings.Desired Settlement: Simply remove my name and address from Country Living magazine's mailing list(s) AS REQUESTED via a Nationally-known Mail Preference Service. Review: Two years ago I made the decision to subscribe to O magazine, and after the first year, I did not want to renew.

When I mailed in my payment, I advised in writing to please do not renew. I no longer wanted the magazine,

yet they ignored my request and continued to send the magazine the next year; I sent an email again and said

please do not send any magazines and they continued to do so. Finally, I was so frustrated that I paid the bill once

again, and sent another note and said do not renew(2014). They again ignored my request for the 2014 renewal, and they

are now billing me once again, and I do not want the magazine. I have no idea who to return them to. Please HELP!Desired Settlement: I would like them to stop the magazine and zero out out any balance that they have in my name, and do send a letter confirming that they have done so!

Review: Hearst is the publisher for two magazines I've had problems with. In my opinion they are scams perpetrated by Hearst to get subscriptions.O Magazine:The magazine has an annual holiday game in December. You find an icon in the magazine for a particular day and go online to enter a daily give away. You think you're entering your email and address info for the daily give away. When you complete the fields and click submit you are told you've ordered the magazine (the one you already subscribe to). Then you start getting emails telling you to PAY for the subscription.Country Living:The April issue had a $5000 Kitchen Makeover offer for just going online and entering my email and home addresses. As soon as I clicked submit, I was told I had ordered the magazine, NOT been entered in the contest. These are scams and Hearst should be prosecuted for doing this.Desired Settlement: Hearst should be prosecuted for misleading and false advertising. I've tried contacting the magazines, BUT Hearst keeps coming up.

Review: In August 2014 I ordered a subscription to HGTV Magazine - it was a pull out from the magazine. It was a special offer to buy a magazine for myself and get a gift subscription for free. I chose "Bill Later" on the postcard and mailed it in to start my subscription. When I got the bill I paid it. My check was cashed in September by the company. Since then I have been getting Failure to Pay notices every 2-3 weeks in the mail. I only received ONE magazine in August and my gift recipient only received a total of TWO. I wrote to the company on 2 different occasions with no response. I even sent a copy of my cashed check, I just last week received another "failure to Pay" letter so I contacted the company via email again. This time they wrote back and stated they had no subscription under my email address. I sent my full name and address and they wrote back " The cashed check was for a gift subscription" and that was it. I wrote to them this morning that it was not just a gift subscription it was also for me. Even if it was just the gift my gift recipient has only received 2 mgazines out of 5 months. Their customer service is absolute horrible. I have never had an issue with a magzine such as this.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the remainder of this year of magazines that I did pay for and next year free for both myself and my gift recipeient.

I recently got a call from a man named Nathan at Hearst Magazines, regarding an order that I had placed, he was asking for credit card information and I expressed apprehension at giving my credit card information to someone who had called me, I would have been fine with calling back and continuing business with the company. However I was treated horrible and told and I quote "you can't afford our services anyways". I called back to speak with his employer and was told that I am the worst person who ever called the company. Again I only expressed apprehension at giving my credit card information to someone who called me, and would have called back and finished the business if he hadn't been rude.

Review: Apparent refusal to remove our mailing address from their mailing list even after several letters and phone calls.

[redacted] magazine continues to send renewal notices after repeated letters and phone calls. This is now harassment! Talked to [redacted] at ###-###-#### (not sure of last name or if first name is correct spelling) on July **, 2013. He assured me he would put me on a "do not disturb" list and I would get no other mail from them. I have! Also left phone message for [redacted] at ###-###-#### in New York about that same date. No response from her. The magazine is actually in my wife's name and she no longer reads magazines and does not want it. I have also talked to a lady at the so-called senator [redacted] office this morning asking for assistance in getting them to stop. His office was as expected, no help for me since I am not in his district and that is a private company. However, I explained to the lady the problem is originating in his district. He, like so many others seems useless. I actually asked her to ask him not to stand in the way of a government shutdown tonight. This government is too expensive and too non-productive in my opinion. But, we've seen this play acted out over and over. I expect a "breaking news" story tonight how we have been "saved" from certain doom by the clowns in clown town! Just my thoughts! Higher taxes and it goes on for a few more months. I have called the Mayor's office in [redacted]. The lady I spoke with said neither the mayor, [redacted] nor the mayor pro-tem, [redacted] was in the office but that [redacted] was coming in. I asked her to ask him to call [redacted] for me and to ask them to take our mailing address off their mailing list. Whether he does or not remains to be seen. I am out of his district too, so likely nothing will happen from him either. I am asking YOU, The Revdex.com to cotact [redacted] magazine and TELL them to stop sending letters or any other communication to me. I am sick of them! Our address is [redacted]. I plan to call [redacted] back today if he is still there. I will call the same number I spoke to him on before. I also plan to call [redacted] back in New York. May leave a voice mail for her too. I will let them know I hsve filed a complaint since they have not resolved this issue. I have even considered legal help but I think that would be extreme for such a small issue that I believe could be resolved with a few seconds and a few keystrokes. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.Desired Settlement: At this point, I am only asking for two things. First, I would like to KNOW in writing they have removed our address ([redacted] from their mailing list) and secondly that we get no more correspondence from them, either by mail or email with the exception of one letter stating this has been done. This has gone on far too long!!! Should we continue getting unwanted offers or correspondence from them, then I'm not sure what the next step is. We will have to decide that

I just spoke with a nice lady today, November **, 2013, concerning complaint number [redacted]. My complaint has not been resolved as of the current date. I would like a letter from [redacted] stating that my wife ([redacted]) nor myself ([redacted]) will be receiving future magazine "offers" from any of the magazines they sell. This problem has been ongoing for some time and I have written several letters to Iowa asking them to remove our name and address ([redacted]) from their mailing list. I was told in July it had been removed. We got another "offer" well after July, 2013 for which I wrote to [redacted]. I give credit to the post office for getting her reply to us since it had our last name spelled incorrectly and had an address in another state. I assume the post office got it to us by the zip code. That was correct. I would like a response by US mail (not email) with her signature and I would like that letter to state that we will not be receiving any further "offers." I hate to drag this on. I have more important things to do and I'm sure she does too. However, this has gone on much too long.

Thank you,

Review: I do not know how they got my information, but yesterday I got an e-mail stating I owe them money for magazine issues I signed up for. It was sent to my e-mail saying I owe them 7.27$ for a magazine subscription. Yesterday I politely emailed them and told them I did not sign up for this in which they never got back to me, and now today it says I owe them over 8$. This is really confusing to me this company sounds really shady and is trying to steal my money from me when I never ever signed up for their services. I did go to the website I was able to get in with my email and zip code, in which I cancel the subscription that I never signed up for!!!!Desired Settlement: I never ever signed up to receive their magazine, I have no interest in Good Housekeeping. I just don't want to owe them for something that I never signed up for or do not want.
